This was my highlight of the trip as I had reserved a table way before I actually arrived in Florence. The vibe was great - rustic and intimate. The pasta was great, quite unique imo. The house wine was fresh and the dessert was so good! Would highly recommend coming here, preferably with a group or at least a companion so that you can try a lot more dishes than I could. 😉

This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. I hesitate to write a review because I want to gate keep this place but that would be unfair to the establishment. I’ve been here 5 times over two years and everything we ordered is just so delicious. The Caprese is so velvety with amazing olive oil drizzle, the rigatoni with the noe house sauce, the gnocchi pomodoro with burrata, and the pappadelle with rabbit really standout to me. We didn’t do the bistecca but the table next to us got it and it looked incredible, also. Tirimisu… with chocolate chunks in it… outstanding. This place is a real gem. It’s a family place with a great neighborhood feel. The servers work so hard and are so kind. Really make you feel welcome. Can’t recommend enough!

Google
The restaurant is located in a small street in between Santa Croce and the historic center. We were lucky to find a table for lunch before it got crowded. We loved the cozy atmosphere, it really felt as a family run restaurant. We loved both the Rigattoni alla Noè and the Parmigiana di Melanzane, both made with fresh ingredients that you could also see entering the restaurant. Worth trying it.

Google
It was a last minute find and one of the best meals we had in Florence. Friendly and helpful staff, food was delicious and everyone on surrounding tables was enjoying their food and the atmosphere as much as we were. Authentic Italian food with quality ingredients, the pasta was lovely and the carpaccio + artichokes are a must, we didn't go for the steak but will next time, as other tables had it and it looked great!

Great local scene with amazing food. Had the carbonara and wife had the truffle linguine. Food and wine was impressive. If you’re looking for a great little spot with local vibes this is your spot!

This restaurant is recommended by a local. i love the food and wine there. The price is affordable and the florentine steak is amazing!

Very simple ingredients, delicious taste. Florence streak with green salad and fried artichokes. I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next evening and ate the same thing.

Again, another great meal at Noe’s. The Waite Staff was busy, attentive and cheerful. Love their attitude. We ordered a bottle of wine, shared a mix salad and each got a fillet covered in a balsamic sauce. So delicious. Another wonderful experience at Antico Noe.

Yelp
Wow what a find. Really feels like an authentic, off the beaten path, local, tavern. Really loud but every morsel was spectacular, including possibly the best Bistecca Fiorentina we had during our entire trip. Definitely try the Gnocchi and sides. But that steak.....im drooling writing this review!

Yelp
Favorite panini shop ever! The staff is friendly and the food is fantastic. Quick, easy, fresh with unique flavors and all at a great price!! This is my first stop whenever I am in Florence. It is a must try!

Yelp
Menu was handwritten- so for some reason that gave me a great vibe about this restaurant-right in one of the narrow streets in Florence! I had the breaded steak special on a bed of arugula and fresh tomatoes, olive oil, etc. my daughter had one of the best pasta pomodoro.

Yelp
The menu felt very special, all of the food was delicious and unique, the owner was very personable, would recommend!

Yelp
We came here for the pasta after reading all the guidebooks. We came for lunch on a Saturday and sat down right away, it wasn't nearly as crowded as we expected. The food was excellent, it was some of the best pasta we had in Florence. It was nice to just sit and relax with a spritz after visiting the museums. I didn't love the location though. It was in this kind of tunnel area where there were lots of pigeons. Other than that I enjoyed lunch!

Yelp
It says something when you visit the same place for lunch two days in a row. Antico Noe was referred to us by a friend as a must for lunch when I was in Florence. My friend couldn't have been more right! Two days in a row I had the vegetariano sandwich with the addition of mozzarella. The fresh baguette topped with spinach, mushrooms, artichokes, sundried tomatoes, onions and fresh tomatoes makes the perfect combination. Be sure to ask for a side of the rose sauce or better yet, ask for two sides, you'll want extra for sure!

Yelp
All I can say is, thank god for our friend who recommended this spot. We were only in florence a short 3 days, and before heading back to Rome, we made sure to catch a train that allowed us enough time to lunch here one last time. Unpretentious and a small little panini shop, their menu has something for everyone. You MUST try the Rose sauce, we got extra on the side. #4 with stuffed chicken, mushrooms and that incredible rose sauce was by far the favorite. The crunch of the bread is the best I've ever had. We've been in Italy 2 weeks and dined in some of the finest restaurants and had spectacular meals, but this little panini shop will go down as one of our favorites. Stop reading reviews and TRUST ME, go here. You're welcome.

Yelp
Last night in Florence we decided to get some late night eats. We walked past this place and the dishes on the tables caught our eyes. We were warmly greeted and accommodated for seating as this place was pretty busy even though it was like 11pm at night. The server was quite friendly and actually took the time to go over the menu with us since it was only in Italian. The food came out shortly after and was hot and delicious. We sat outside the restaurant, which was perfect on a somewhat warm night in Florence. This place offers only wine, not much beer and no alcohol. Not a whole lot more to say, good food, good environment, and good service. Why not? :)

Yelp
We walked by Antico Noe no less than four times our first two days in Florence, only to find it was not open (post-holiday closure). Imagine our surprise when we strolled by on day three and found both the sandwich bar and restaurant ready and open for business. We couldn't have walked in any quicker. The server was fantastic. She asked if we preferred Italian or English (we opted for Italian to keep learning/practicing) and dropped off the menu of the day as well as the regular offerings. Water and a delightful wheel of bread (cut into small wedges) were delivered hastily and we made our order. It is clear each meal is cooked to order and you can tell the love and time that go into the preparation. Other diners entered and quickly filled the small dining area. Some other tourists but also local folks -- yeah! The spaghetti alla carbonara was incredible. Perfect al dente pasta and a silky, salty sauce from the egg and cheese. I would have eaten this pasta without the ham/bacon, but this took it to another level. My dining partner opted for the same dish, adding deftly cooked artichokes to the mix. My dish arrived first and I really had to exhibit some excellent self control to avoid wolfing it down in record time. This was a lunch meant to be lingered over and well worth the wait. So glad we got to experience Antico Noe while in Florence -- this will be a "go to" for us when we return.

Yelp
We had 2 types of spaghetti with porcini mushrooms. They were excellent. The service was very friendly and the waitress spoke great English! Bravo!

Yelp
This is a great (hidden) sandwich shop. We had a lot of friends recommend that we try this place while we were in Florence. Get the fresh sourdough bread and I'm not sure if you can go wrong with whatever sandwich you order. I don't recall which ones we got but they were both great!! They only have a couple small tables to sit at so you may want to grab this sandwich to go.
google avatar

Yelp
L'antico noe's Firenze location is WAY better than the NY one (fresher ingredients and cheaper!) The firenze location is very tight so it's better to go before or after the main lunch rush. There's a few tables outside to eat at or you can easily walk away and eat it as they are wrapped in a napkin. We ordered the chicken panini with rose sauce and a salami panini special. The chicken panini was out of this world! My only complaint is that it was too small :) Price is very reasonable (~5 euros). This is a MUST try when in Florence.

Yelp
We stumbled upon this place on the walk back to our apartment. What first caught our attention is the menu written in Italian with no photos or English translations. Aka not a tourist trap. We order the ragu and carbonara pasta... and oh my was it amazing!! The best pasta I've had in Italy thus far. The servers we also so sweet, I ordered an aperal spritz and they had run out so one of them went down the street to buy a new one‍ also the tiramisu... WOW. definitely try this place

Yelp
This place has everything!! Great sandwiches, amazing wines, unbelievable dinners and a nice outside area with great scenery. The owners and everyone who works here are friendly and a pleasure to get to know. http://youtu.be/9AkOnSLWXVY

Yelp
L'antico Noe means translated Ancient Noah. Not sure who that is and why the shop got that name, all I know is this Ancient Noah Sandwich-Hole-In-The-Wall place ain't ancient at all. Its on top of its game.. for sure! This places' staff had great team spirit to beginwith, all their ingridients were fresh plus all their sandwiches were unique in their own biglittle way. They have roughly 20+ varieties to choose from. Too bad they did not serve whole wheat bread/ baguette but either way I wasn't going to pass this time. Lucky me! I chose the turkey, fresh mozzarella, butter lettuce with Truffle spread Sandwich (I believe #21). Yes truffle - too bad our American sandwiches only come with mustard and mayo. We are raising the bar here for about 5EUR you can enjoy this one!! So next time you are in Florence Italy this is a must place to go. A little hard to find because its located in a small passage way but well worth the effort.

Yelp
Single handedly the best sandwich you will find in Firenze. I always go with the Buffalo mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes and pesto, its AMAZING! And the prices are cheap. Pair that with a Peroni, and you will be in heaven

Yelp
This restaurant is a hidden gem. I was walking around, looking for a place to eat and THANKFULLY stumbled upon this place. My rule of thumb is to always look for a place that has a menu only in Italian. If it's written by hand, EVEN BETTER! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Now, the food.... THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. We ordered prosciutto with cantaloupe, rigatoni ragú, carbonara with mushroom and tiramisu for dessert. The prosciutto was so tasty and the cantaloupe was sweet! Best cantaloupe I've ever had. Both pastas were so flavorful and you could taste that all the food was home made. Ragù sauce is a hit or miss... this was a total HIT. Lastly, the tiramisu.... wow! It was light and the perfect amount of sweet. I don't usually write reviews but I had to write this one before even leaving the restaurant. Next time I'm in Florence I will 100% be visiting this restaurant again.

Yelp
Same name and owner, two places: 1- the sandwich shop on right side: excellent panini, with a long menu with different options. Extremely popular and busy during lunch time, no seating. 2- the small restaurant on left side: one fot eh best steak in the city (bistecca alla fiorentina) served as it should be. A little pricey, but the value is great.

Yelp
I was really happy with this place. L'Antico Noè was suggested to me by Luca at Residenza Johanna I. I'm vegan and had a hankering for truffle pasta, so the owner helped me to order a delicious shaved truffle pasta without butter. (The truffle stall at Mercato Centrale did not offer me a custom plant-based dish.) It was so delicious, and I really appreciate the service!!

Yelp
This place is a great little hole in the wall panini shop under the archway. You can choose from the items on the menu or make your own. All the ingredients are fresh and they toast it on the panini press to melt the cheese. The same guy has been there for years and he's always a treat to chat with and practice some Italian! Go here in between a long day of site seeing.

Yelp
After spending a long day at the beach, my girlfriend and I were in desperate need of a delicious and filling meal. The food here is good - everything is fresh and tastes delicious. BUT they really know how to take their time. We had to wait 15 minutes for water and an additional 25 for our appetizer to arrive. The waitstaff initially gave us the wrong meal and seemed off their game. Maybe it's because we grabbed dinner late at night, but if the waitstaff can't handle long shifts then maybe the restaurant shouldn't be open so late.
google avatar

Yelp
Many of the other highly rated panino spots we visited only had pork options, so it was refreshing that this place had so many alternative options, and even a very accessible "make your own" option. I opted for several cheeses, some pesto, a spicy 'salsa,' etc. and it was absolutely delicious. You can't beat the prices, friendly and quick service, and overall vibe of this place for a sandwich in Florence. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Appears the location is off in Yelp, as the little cafe is located a few blocks away from the Duomo in downtown Florence. There are two restaurants - one is a sandwich shop and the other a cozy little cafe (believe they share the same kitchen). My party had a late dinner at the cafe based on a recommendation from our Florentine apartment manager. We loved the atmosphere and friendly service. This was our first night, so we wanted somewhere that was relaxed, with good food. This spot pretty much fit the bill. Some of our favorites include: Tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and the Tuscan starter (variety of meats and cheeses). It's a small place, so not recommended if you have more than 4-5 people in your party. Also, the wine selection was fairly basic, but the house red and white were both pretty good. Overall, I'd recommend this spot for a casual dinner or appeared to be great for lunch.

Yelp
It opens when it wants to. I'm sure the food is good but I wouldn't know. Employees were jerky.

Yelp
Did not even realize I was in line at this place I was just hungry with my friend and noticed a sign that said sandwiches so we stayed in line. There were probably about 10 people ahead of me and usually that would deter anyone but we were hungry and we assumed if it was that long and must be good. Ironically everyone in line was American so that made me wonder if this was a tourist spot. This place has amazing grilled paninis that are hot, wrapped and easy to eat on the go. Being vegetarian they even had a Caprese option as well as a vegetarian option for me and you can kind of request certain sauces to go with your sandwich. They spoke English very well. And everyone seemed very happy with whatever they had ordered. Highly recommend this place over the other Sandwich Spot that everyone goes crazy for in Florence. Frankly this one was the better one and yes I did have sandwiches at both. The bread here is softer the sauces here are tastier however the line here is a little bit shorter so it does take a little longer for them to get the sandwiches through but I think it's because their quality is better

Yelp
Delicious. A great mid day lunch. Top notch sandwiches and a very friendly staff. It's a great place for a quick bite to eat.

Yelp
Cheap, affordable and great location. I always come here when I go to Florence. Best paninos that I dream of in the US!!!
google avatar

Radford S.

Yelp
I don't need to say much more than this: these are the best paninis I've had in my life. I wanted to point out, though, that the address on here seems to be incorrect. The restaurant is actually very close to the Florence Cathedral in a tunnel to the southeast.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
We loved the food and the waitress was cool with us changing our order after we placed it. Atmosphere was lively and the tables were close but we still felt like our privacy was available to us. We will recommend it to our friends.

Yelp
One the best cheap eats in Firenze. This review is for the sandwich shop, which is hidden under the arch and tucked away, around the corner from the Lions Fountain. The sandwich list is endless, and they will accommodate your whim if you cant find one specific to your taste. It was one of a few places that I can remember that offered tacchino arrosto (turkey). Their caprese sandwich is very good. But they have great prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes, grilled eggplant, cheeses and all kinds of other ingredients. All in all, you will be happy to realize there is so much more to offer than those half day old ham and cheese panini sitting in the windows on Via Calzaiuoli.
google avatar

Flavio P.

Yelp
Most reviews here are about the sandwich shop, but they also have a full kitchen and a few tables serving as restaurant. I went there under suggestion of a friend with 3 colleagues and we happened to order the same dish for everybody (a tagliata). But instead of receiving a plate each, they served a unique trail with everything in it. It would have alright if the amount of meat in the trail, filled with a lot of green salad, wasn't the equivalent of 2 dishes, not 4! They have been very sure to charge us the full price, which with an appetizer and a liter of house wine made €30 per person. Food quality was good, but we felt cheated and overcharged.
google avatar

Katharine S.

Yelp
Really confused why this has 3 euros for the price, I think we paid 6-8 euro per panini. My sister and I stumbled upon this place thanks to our hanger...and ended up going back two more times. Kind of a hole in the wall, but so so yummy! There is a photo with Guy Fieri hanging on the wall, so that's pretty cool. No seating inside, but some nice tables outside. I definitely recommend anything with the rose sauce.

Linda E.

Yelp
Avoid this dump located in a depressing alley. There are many great restaurants in Florence. There are also many mediocre ones. This one doesn't even rise to the level of mediocrity. In all fairness, we should have been put on notice to avoid this place because at the prime 7pm dinner hour, when other restaurants were fully booked and had people waiting outside, this restaurant was completely empty inside and only two tables were occupied outside. Shortly after being seated we were harassed by a homeless person and the occupants of the table next to us picked up and left without ordering. While we were dining, homeless people wandered past our table into the restaurant asking for water. I did not feel safe dining here. The menu was also difficult to navigate as it was written in a nearly illegible script and the waiter became annoyed when we asked him for clarification. In addition, the food quality was poor. My salad was a pile of lettuce with nothing else served in a plain metal bowl dressed only with olive oil and vinegar. My ravioli pasta was a dense, thick, leaden, doughy mess with a nearly invisible layer of POTATO inside. The ravioli were clearly not homemade but were low-end commercial-grade ravioli fit only to be served in a school cafeteria. The accompanying sauce was supposed to have been made with duck meat but was really ground beef. This restaurant seems to get high reviews on the basis of its low priced grab and go sandwiches at lunchtime. Don't be fooled by these ratings into thinking that this is a quality dining establishment at dinner. It is not. Go to any other restaurant in Florence. You cannot do worse than this.
google avatar

Dana G.

Yelp
Insanely good sandwiches what more is there to say!! The guy was a bit slow making it but it was worth the wait!
google avatar

Katie P.

Yelp
Go here if you want a yummy sandwich and need something on the go or just quick. There are some seats right outside the shop. It takes about 15 mins for them to make the sandwich but its worth it! Seasonal ingredients, super fresh and crisp bread. It hit the spot on a day of shopping. My friends were comparing it to the sandwiches from "The Oil Shoppe" nearby and they were debating which was better. Go to both was the final consensus :)
google avatar

Cynthia T.

Yelp
This used to be my husband's go to spot when he studied abroad here in Florence so it was obviously a must do. The paninis were just as good as he had described. All the ingredients had so much flavor and everything looked fresh. They did slightly over toast our bread but they offered to remake them for us, which we declined but I appreciated the offer. The place used to only offer sandwiches but they have opened a restaurant next door which we did not try. Be careful, the directions we got in Yelp were wrong and led us to a random alley but fortunately my husband remembered where it was.
google avatar

David P.

Yelp
Best Panini's in Florence!! You're a little out of the way in a little alley way. They also have free Wi-Fi must stop by.
google avatar

S R.

Yelp
Swimming with American tourists and study abroad students but what isn't in Florence. Very decent sandwiches and a fun place to eat something quick while strolling around Florence. Good vegetarian options.
google avatar

Lizzy P.

Yelp
I have been to the sandwich nook here almost every day since arriving in Florence because I can't get enough! The owner recognized us and treated us like regulars by our third visit and greets us warmly every time we come back. I swear by their truffle butter (or truffle sauce when I'm feeling a less rich flavor) and I'm obsessed with their fresh, delicious veggies. The sandwiches are always made fresh in front of you and served piping hot with gooey melted cheese, unlike some places around the Duomo who just stick their sandwiches on the panini maker for 30 seconds. A 5 or 6 euro lunch that satisfies for the whole day. A must try if you're in Florence!
google avatar

Rob T.

Yelp
Nestled in an underpass, a short distance duomo, L'Antico Noè is a sandwitch shop delivering fresh Florentine ingredients in simply prepared sandwiches, they are delicious and easy to take on the go. Choose from a list of 20 signature sandwiches, or have your way and make a custom sandwich. This is great because a lot of shops in this area don't give you this option. My favorite spreads were the pesto and chipotle spread. From there, you can't go wrong with the toasted baguette bread and freshly sliced meats. The owners and staff are very friendly, me and my friends actually chatted with and went for drinks with one of the workers after a stop here. Overall great experience and always on my checklist when visiting Florence.

Marco V.

Yelp
Great food a must come lamb is delicious also tiramisu.. excellent service excellent price with great food!! A must visit spot in Florence

Adam D.

Yelp
This is another, very popular tourist "restaurant" in Florence that gets recommended from tourist to tourist, student to student, year after year. It is basically a hole in the wall sandwich spot with a recently added, expanded and remodeled small seating and waiter area next to it. It is in this little tunnel area that has recently been cleaned up, but used to have a lot of sketchy characters. Nothing dangerous, just unpleasant. There is always at least a small line, and literally like 4-5 people can fit inside the ordering area. Sandwiches are very good and fresh. Probably not worth the hype, but good. A great place to grab a quick bite if you don't have time for a sit down lunch.

Carrie B.

Yelp
Great, fresh, made to order sandwich. Off the beaten path yet convenient to Duomo area. Great price.

Liz C.

Yelp
SO not worthy anyone's time or euros. Yes, this place isn't horrible, but it's nothing to write home about either. I wish I could shake anyone that considers these "paninis" truly Italian. They would probably rate as really good sandwiches in the US but in Italy you can literally find so much better for the same price! Sandwiches are on long baguettes and most of the veggies they use are from a can. Definitely go simple if you decide to eat here. But again, there is so much better out there, beware.
