Relaxed pizzeria with an open kitchen serving crisp, Naples-style pies to diners at communal tables.
"Even if you aren’t planning to catch a Braves game at Truist Park, it’s worth visiting The Battery—the city’s best proof that a giant mixed-use district can be equally loved by locals, tourists, and folks whose age doesn’t end in "teen." And in that complex is Antico, Atlanta’s Michael Jordan of pizza. They’ve nailed the perfectly charred, chewiness of the Neapolitan pie like no other, and much like legendary “flu game Jordan,” they never disappoint (probably because they keep the menu short and have a strict no-substitutions rule). Pizzas topped with imported Italian meats and cheeses will come to your table minutes after you’ve placed an order at the counter." - nina reeder, juli horsford, jacinta howard
"Antico keeps its menu tight and sticks to quality, imported Italian ingredients, so every pizza tastes as incredible as it did when this pizzeria first established itself as a city favorite nearly a decade ago. And it nails the perfectly charred, chewy doneness of the Neapolitan pie. There are a few locations around the city, but we’re partial to the sometimes chill, sometimes chaotic energy of The Battery outpost, which has a big bar and plenty of space to accommodate your crew of two or 12. And no matter how packed the place seems, expect to see your steaming hot pie delivered to you within minutes of ordering." - nina reeder, jacinta howard, juli horsford
"Antico is the city’s Michael of pizza (anyone, Tyson, Jordan, Jackson), and they're one of the best pizzerias in America. They’ve nailed the perfectly charred, chewy doneness of the Neapolitan pie like no other. And like “flu game Jordan,” they’re never off their A-game—probably since they keep a short menu and a strict no-substitution rule. Steaming hot pizzas topped with imported Italian meats and cheeses come delivered to your table in near minutes after placing your order at the counter. While all of their four locations deliver quality pies, their always-busy Battery location is our favorite thanks to a big indoor/outdoor bar and a table turnover that rivals the speed of a fast food chain." - nina reeder, demarco williams, juli horsford
"Atlantans will debate everything, but there's one truth that stands unchallenged: the sheer perfection of Antico’s pizza crust. It strikes that dream balance—irresistibly crispy on the outside yet airily light on the inside. Our favorite is the Margherita dotted with creamy mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. We like taking our pizzas over to Gio’s, their sister restaurant within the same complex, to round out our meal with the juicy Amalfi chicken. It’s roasted and served with a simmering broth with green olives, onions, garlic, and bread crumbs. If you don’t finish it in one go, that's fine because the taste only deepens after a day." - jacinta howard, juli horsford, nina reeder
