Great local spot. The coffee is strong and smooth, and the vibe is perfect for working or relaxing. Baristas are friendly but not overbearing, and the pastries are always fresh. One of my go-to cafes in the area.

Can't beat the Nitro. It's been one of my go-to coffee shops for 25 years. Small selection of yummies if you need a bite or two. They also serve beer and wine. Really mellow hang.

Antidote Coffee Shop is a hidden gem that not only serves exceptional coffee but also offers an overall delightful experience. Stepping into this cozy haven, the charming Christmas decorations instantly set the festive tone. The attention to detail in the decor reflects the dedication to creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for patrons. The moment you enter, the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee fills the air, creating an instant sense of comfort. The staff, with their infectious smiles and friendly demeanor, add a layer of charm to the entire experience. It's not just a coffee shop; it's a place where the staff's warmth becomes a part of the ambiance. What makes Antidote stand out is the speed of service without compromising on quality. Despite the bustling energy, your order is swiftly prepared and served, ensuring you can savor your coffee without unnecessary delays. The efficiency of the service complements the overall positive vibe of the place. The holiday decorations during my visit added an extra layer of joy to the experience. The festive spirit was not just limited to the exterior; even the interior was adorned with tasteful Christmas decor, creating a picturesque setting that made my visit feel like a cozy escape from the everyday hustle. In conclusion, Antidote Coffee Shop is a must-visit for coffee enthusiasts seeking more than just a caffeine fix. The amazing coffee, coupled with the cute staff, fast service, and the enchanting Christmas decorations during the holiday season, creates an atmosphere that lingers in your memory, making every visit a delightful escape.

Google
Comfy coffee shop nestled in The Heights community. Barista was very patient and kind while my family ordered drinks. We tried an iced cajeta latte, hot rose + vanilla latte, iced toffenut latte & hot chocolate. All drinks were made perfectly. Definitely recommend stopping in

Google
The space is super cozy and they easily have on of my favorite coffees, you need to try their cajeta latte! 10/10 I just wish they had better parking but other than that this is a neighborhood staple!

Google
Chill spot with great coffee and good vibes Came to Antidote Café with a friend to chat about business and ended up really enjoying the vibe. The place was quiet, cool, and full of people reading or working on laptops—perfect for a low-key meeting or just catching up. I had a latte that was smooth and rich, and it hit the spot. The staff were super friendly and relaxed, which made the whole experience even better. Also loved that they serve beer and wine—definitely coming back to try that during happy hour. Not flashy, but it feels real and welcoming. A solid spot to think, talk, or just enjoy a great cup of coffee.

Google
I went to this place with a friend for a Bible Study, and it was perfect for that. It’s a very quiet spot, small but cozy. They offer a variety of desserts, and the prices are reasonable. I really enjoyed my experience here. The only downside is that parking is quite difficult to find!

Adam Harris

Google
I’ve visited this coffee shop a few times, and while I find the coffee to be just okay, my experience was significantly impacted by the parking situation. I was kindly informed by a gentleman that I couldn’t use their parking lot, which was surprising given the time of day and emptiness of the lot. As someone who works remotely and enjoys supporting local businesses, I often purchase a variety of items when I visit coffee shops. Being told that I couldn’t park there felt unwelcoming, and the explanation about needing to prioritize business was disheartening. If the coffee and service were better, I might consider “sucking it up” and giving it another chance, but as it stands, I won’t be returning.

Yelp
Great place with great coffee. Easy going and great staff. Love to study and read here.

Yelp
Food 3.5/5.0 Service 1.5/5.0 Value 3.0/5.0 Decor 3.0/5.0 Overall 3.5/5.0 Okay coffee, but not sure what the deal is with the service. I ordered a nitro and it came with a flotilla of ice (!!), and then for a moment I was effectively, though nicely (?), accused of walking away without paying. It was somewhat busy when I went so assume that was a [really] off day...

Yelp
Love the coffee here, and it's a great spot to study or do work! They have cute indoor and outdoor spaces. The seats are a little bit less comfy, but there are some couch options and outlets available inside. The wifi is good, and it's not too loud. Overall great spot!
google avatar

Yelp
The marshmallow brownie was scrumptious, but the weird ambient music playing & the quiet students camping on their laptops wasn't a vibe. The espresso I ordered wasn't pleasant whatsoever, it lacked body to even be justified as second-wave, so I tossed it on the way out.
google avatar

Mike C.

Yelp
I really like this little coffee shop. Though a little pricey it's actually worth it. The service is fast and coffee drinks are made very well.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool, laid back shop, decent coffee. Awesome outdoor patio. Was a quick in/ out. Need to return to see if the review needs to be amended to 5 stars.
google avatar

Dina S.

Yelp
Friendly staff! I wasn't a big fan of their coffee. I felt as though it lacked flavor. The parking is absolutely terrible! I really think the area of a coffee shop can make or break it!
google avatar

Ann S.

Yelp
Tried their specialty coffee, which is cajeta latte. The flavor is really good. Enjoyed it and would get it again. Majority of their baked goods come from their sister store, Black hole coffee. They sell other cold beverages like kombucha, smoothies, etc. There is seating outdoors and some have umbrellas. It does get cold inside. They provide free water. There's also a toaster and microwave. The wifi speed is decent. It does buffer a little bit if streaming (e.g. Spotify) but not if you're just browsing the Web. If you need wifi for more than an hour, you'll need to buy another item I think. The wifi expires after 1 hour, which sucks. Parking in front is limited like other reviewers mentioned.
google avatar

Yelp
Vibe- another cozy coffee shop in the greater heights area! There's so many colorful little patio tables outside and a good amount of seating inside as well. This is the sister coffee shop to Black Hole Coffee House in Montrose. Customer service- Amazing! The barista that helped me was kind. Food/drinks- I got a hot pumpkin spice latte with oatmilk and it's one of the best I've had at any coffee shop!! Parking- There's about 15 or so parking spots in the lot and some parking on the street.

Yelp
Antidote has one of the grossest restrooms I have ever seen. There's not really a lock on the door so you have to be on your guard during your most vulnerable moment. It's just gross to be in here.
google avatar

Christine K.

Yelp
Antidote is a great place to study and relax. It had a calm vibe. My latte was really tasty. The employees were kind and attentive. I appreciate that they stay open later into the evening.

Yelp
Unassuming and very popular neighborhood coffee bar in The Heights off of Studemont and 8th Ave I believe. Pros: Lots of seating which was quite impressive. Inside and outside. Didn't take any indoors seating pics cause the spot was actually crowded. A hipster vibe where everyone is just cool and easygoing. Had a cafe mocha that was made at perfect temp and the barista offered to bring it to my table. Despite it being busy on a late Friday afternoon, the personal service from the staff was impressive. Lots of customers buying wine! I went thru a quick crash course in what Antidote offers as far as wine is concerned. Ended up having a dry Spanish champagne. Now I don't like dry champagne AT ALL..! But this brut was smooth and went down easy. Very pleased to find a great coffee spot where the staff is just as great! PS: it has that "keep Austin weird" crowd type of vibe. Con: Parking is a little frustrating as in HARD to find a spot cause Antidote is located in a strip mall and traffic is high. After circling the block a bit all that " frustration " will melt away when you walk in.

Yelp
Another great coffeehouse in the grand Houston tradition! Antidote features high ceilings with ceiling fans, exposed cinder block walls, lots of quirky local art, free local newspapers, and several cozy sofas. The menu was a little limited, but I got a flat white and a vanilla steamer and both were smooth and delicious. The place is right next to a sketchy looking convenience store and the sidewalk patio was full of neighborhood folks who'd walked over with their dogs. Our barista was friendly and brought our drinks right to our table. A great place to relax, read and chat with a friend over a cup of coffee.

Yelp
We started our ACL trip with fuel for the journey. I had never been, but it's a favorite of the H-Town crowd, and my friends in particular. Worth the hype, in my nobody-asked-for-it-opinion. The staff was very friendly. I have developed a habit of asking the staff what they like on the menu, and why. The pros should know right? Well, they did not disappoint. I did their cold brew with cajeta and oat milk. Cajeta is a thickened caramel made of sweetened caramelised goat's milk. It was fantastic!!! The creamier quality of oat milk balanced out well with the goat milk flavor. Give it a shot. You're welcome!

Yelp
Service was fast. My latte tastes great. I love that they have a pretty extensive list of syrup options, including fruit flavors. I ordered a raspberry mocha latte, but they were out of raspberry, so I got pomegranate. I'm glad I tried it. It's so good. It tastes just like chocolate covered pomegranates. I give this place 4 stars instead of 5, because parking quite frankly sucks. There are 6 parking spaces, 3 of which have a 5 minute time limit for to go orders, so I couldn't sit inside and enjoy my latte like I'd planned to. It didn't seem that there was street parking nearby. Maybe I missed something, but there is just not enough parking.
google avatar

Tim S.

Yelp
This is THE coffee shop if you are in the neighborhood. We love walking our dog and kids here and enjoying the patio. WiFi is good and open relatively late if you have to work. Only downside is small parking lot.
google avatar

Benjamin P.

Yelp
This is a nice neighborhood coffee shop, and they have more than just coffee, which is surprising for the size place it is! Stop by for coffee, check out the local food and ice cream, and enjoy the spring weather on the patio. If it's too warm, they have a nice cozy indoors also.
google avatar

Maneera C.

Yelp
I went to antidote to study and it's a nice quiet environment. It has a few parking spaces in front of the building and a few on the street to the side. Not many tables, so during the busy hours it can be hard to find a spot. There are a few outlets along the walls. I had the nitro cold brew which was very smooth and refreshing. The chocolate chip cookie was ok. I did not try any of the food. Overall, I think it is a nice place to study, but best outside of rush hour.
google avatar

Yelp
Thank you, Antidote Coffee staff for letting me be myself here no matter WHERE I am! The outdoor seating is so cozy! Love the compost bin idea I am obsessed with the snacks you have unhand. Specifically the sandwiches! looking forward to eating my dessert!
google avatar

Tanjina I.

Yelp
Overpriced coffee and the outdoors don't even have working outlets. They took 20 minutes to make my coffee. Never coming back.
google avatar

Lanre M.

Yelp
This is a charming tiny coffee shop in the Heights. Though the clientele gave me Austin vibes which can be a good thing and a bad thing (liberal) . The barrister was very lovely. The parking situation isn't the best; if you've been to the Heights before, it's like that everywhere. other than that, this is a solid place to check out, and I'll recommend it to anyone that's in the area

Elizabeth V.

Yelp
Their cajeta latte was phenomenal. Very calm and welcoming ambience. Service was 10/10. I will definitely come back.
google avatar

Enna J.

Yelp
This Heights location is the sister coffee shop of Blackhole Coffee in Montrose. So they get their food and baked goods from there. You can heat up items in the microwave by the indoor seating area. There's also outdoor seating -think backyard patio. Cute and quaint. They sell a small assortment of grocery items and the normal coffee lineup (as well as a few unique blends like lavender and rose). Be advised that they do require masks and only allow 2 people in line ordering at a time (so you may have to wait outside until it's your turn). Also small shopping center parking lot
google avatar

Jason Z.

Yelp
Cool coffee joint in the Heights off of Studewood. The interior space is a bit less aesthetic than some of the other local coffee places but it still gives a Heights vibe. Drinks are good and some parking is available out front
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
Coffee quality is great (loved the Cajeta latte - goats milk with dulce de leche flavoring). However this place gets 3 stars for lack of seating and not the best work environment. Not a ton of outlets and the WiFi times out after an hour. That being said. Cute spot and good for conversations - just not laptop work. Parking is relatively limited so beware

Yelp
I always love trying new coffee shops and hadn't been to a new one in awhile, so when we found Antidote, we were super excited to check it out! Nestled in between a tiny bar and a gas station, this seems like a mom and pop, locally owned coffee shop. Attracting older artists and young millennials alike, you'll be greeted with a small ordering counter with a simple but least of all understated coffee menu, and then an adjoined room that offers cozy sofas and chairs to drink your coffee and study, listen to music, or enjoy a coffee date with your boo. Also, perfect for students who need a quiet place to study... I ordered the Cajeta latte which is a milky creamy blend of caramel and milk, and the hubs ordered a mocha latte. I loved the sort of soothing, slightly sweet and foamy texture of my coffee. Not too sweet, yet packed with high quality coffee flavor. Home to the Heights neighborhood and located off of Studewood street, the place from the outside seems a bit intimidating but once you go inside, the vibe is definitely there! I appreciated and loved that they were only letting two people inside to order at a time and provided hand sanitizer at every table and coffee table. Loved the vibes and will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Good people and coffee. Pretty chill! Nice secluded patio on the side with fans and umbrellas.

Kush M.

Yelp
Great ambiance and service also vegan friendly! Great place to study, relax, or just hangout with friends.
google avatar

Haley M.

Yelp
Antidote coffee shop is about 1 mile down the street from me. I decided to stop by and bought a cold brew with hazelnut syrup, and added some simple syrup with half and half. My coffee was really delicious and I'll definitely being returning for price and proximity. The coffee was moderately priced but the atmosphere was very homey and the individuals inside seemed to be very familiar with the shop; it kinda had hang-out vibe to it.
google avatar

Yelp
the ginger cookie was absolutely delicious and soft. the staff were nice and prompt. the tea was also delicious. nice ambiance for getting laptop/ipad work done. parking lot is pretty small. i think i saw a sign outside saying going cashless so that's a turn off doesn't make any sense.
google avatar

Kruti G.

Yelp
The lavender latte was delicious. They have the granola from the local houston bakery. Cute spot. Parking lot tends to fill up can parallel park on the side.
google avatar

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Coffees, teas, wine and beer- Heck yeah. Snacks and such too. Little local place and worth the stop. Pictured is cajeta latte and a big ass cinnamon roll.
google avatar

Heavenly D.

Yelp
This is my favorite, hidden gem of a coffee spot. They don't have much food outside of snacks but they make up for it with friendliness and a truly intimate environment. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the people are cool/comfortable to be around. They have gender neutral bathrooms and the prices aren't bad either. I'm actually not sure if antidote has an online presence or menu, I think that would be cool, who knows. The only reason I can't give antidote 5stars is because their parking is truly terrible. It is likely that you'll have to park on the street.
google avatar

Benjamin N.

Yelp
If you're looking for a quirky local coffee spot, this is it! I ordered the infamous Cajeta latte and added an extra shot because the barista told me that it might be sweet. The drink was splendid and worth a try.
google avatar

isabella s.

Yelp
Their iced lattes are really really good! The staff is very friendly, I gave them 4 star because they gave me a cold bagel that I couldn't even take 3 bites
google avatar

Bryana L.

Yelp
Went into today after a long night to expect great service but unfortunately that did not happen. I had gotten a 16 oz vanilla latte with oat milk, well the first coffee wasn't the greatest because it just tasted like straight up oat milk. So like anyone else would do I asked nicely to have the coffee remade. The second cup of coffee come around and the lady who originally made my first cup said to me "Next time ask for two shots of coffee." (Very rudely) I said " okay thanks" and walked away with my coffee that still didn't taste great. I don't think there will be a next time for me at this place.
google avatar

Ashley Y.

Yelp
Great coffee! Friendly staff. The coffee is is excellent and a very cool ambiance. Perfect place to come to hang out or get work done
google avatar

Jaron D.

Yelp
New to the area and come in regularly from out of town. This place was recommended and so I've turned it into my go to for when arrive and when I leave. Coffee is solid and I'd argue it's decently priced (compared to back home). Only reason I'm changing my review to 4 stars is I had an encounter this afternoon where I ordered a white mocha with lavender and rose, mentioned I was new and not familiar with the local coffee scene, and one of the baristas said kinda snidely that I should "go to Starbucks", not as a joke about recommendations but "because of what you ordered". Whether it was her intent or not, it came off really pretentious. It's probably not the best practice to chide your guests about their order, especially when you're a small business. It won't keep me from going back, and I'm willing to write this off as a one time encounter, but it rubbed me in just the wrong way that I felt I'd bring it up.

Houston C.

Yelp
Most important part of this shop is that it is very cozy, I love the seating inside and out. The baristas are always pleasant, and the premade food is decent for a quick cheap snack. The coffee is always pretty bitter for my taste, but overall I recommend!
google avatar

Cynthia V.

Yelp
Trying this place was a long time coming for me; I have lived in the area over 7 years and I always let the small parking lot deter me. What a fool I was! I took the advice of many past reviewers and ordered the rich cajeta latte. This was an indulgent latte with beautiful flavors and epic smoothness. Lovely staff here as well with great COVID safety protocols in place.

George C.

Yelp
Antidote Coffee has a laid back bohemian ambiance. There are lots of tables to sit at. I'm guessing a large proportion of the customers are regulars. The servers seem to expect that you know the flow of where to order what to order where to pick up how to keep from grabbing someone else's drink how to know where to wait etc. A bit awkward to be a newbie in this place. The coffee was ok. Tasted a bit bitter that morning. With so many great reviews I was just expecting more.
google avatar

Emery P.

Yelp
I read all the good and bad reviews and wanted to try it anyways. The second I walked in the barista was loudly reprimanding the cashier for writing something a way she didn't like it. It's not what you say, it's how you say it. In this case it was quite awful. Then while waiting for my chai and cajeta latte I witnessed more utterly rude customer service unfold. The same barista yelled that there was an antidote latte that had been sitting there. The whole shop stopped and stared at her. She then said it's here and it's not too cold. I was up for trying a new spot but I will not be back. Cool vibe when the barista doesn't kill the mood. The three stars are because the coffee and chai were actually delicious. Sad the bad reviews were right.
google avatar

Obiageli A.

Yelp
First time visiting here, I often seek out coffee shops within the Houston & surrounding area to try. The service here was not only lackluster, but as stated in the picture...espresso is $2.50 during HH. I asked the waitress what else was included in HH, she stated only wine. I stated so what about the espresso? She stated again, no coffee is on HH. So I asked her do I just ignore the menu. She replies huh? I say the menu that states espresso is $2.50 during HH. She looks at the menu then looks at me and states...only wine. If you all are going to make a menu, at least make it accurate. If you do mess up, at least honor the customer. I'll most likely never revisit this coffee house again nor will it be a suggestion for friends, colleagues and family.
google avatar

Nisha N.

Yelp
I came in on a whim and was impressed! I was debating between the Lavendar and Cajete flavors and asked the barista to pick. He picked the Cajete and prepared it with the cold brew and almond milk and it was amazing. All the reviews on Yelp rave about the Cajete and it is unique! It's not too sweet (not as sweet as a mocha) and was a great add to the cold brew. We also got a regular cold brew sweetened , also delicious. The service was safe and the barista was helpful and kind. We'll be back for sure!
google avatar

Fanny V.

Yelp
I hope the owner(s) are reading this. Your coffee is amazing! but the crew is super rude and unwelcoming. it's really a bummer I forget why I don't come here. sad.
google avatar

Luke D.

Yelp
Decent chai latte, could have been a bit smoother. Tasty espresso. Good music! Sturdy mugs for customers that sit inside and ask for them. I even tried the blood orange gelato (they sell quite a few items from other local businesses) and it was delicious. Some other reviews mention the morning shift and crappy service, but I went in the afternoon and the two lady baristas were super sweet, so I don't have any complaints about that. Definitely will revisit.
google avatar

Marieli R.

Yelp
The RUDEST employees!! Makes the coffee not worth it. There are so many cuter coffee shops with employees that were actually trained in customer service!
google avatar

Brianna W.

Yelp
The Cajeta latte and the Flat White are terrific! The shop has super friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. It's not meant for laptop work, but it's a great spot to catch up with friends, read, or sketch.
google avatar

Robert L.

Yelp
I went to this place because they stock and serve coffee from one of the best coffee bean roasters in the world! Big Bend Coffee Roasters, out of Marfa, Texas. Prices are very reasonable and the staff were very nice. It's nothing fancy but good coffee and food.
