Google
We had a big expectations for this place, according to the Google and Yelp reviews but unfortunately it felt short. I ordered country stake with hash brown, sunny side up eggs and pancakes 🥞. My wife ordered waffles with hard boiled eggs and fruit bowl (see pictures) My eggs were not fully cooked (egg white was still raw) the pancakes and waffles were under cooked (it looked like both were frozen before they put on a stove). Service was ok. One would expect, if restaurant says free coffee refill, the server would come around every once in a while to offer refill, not here. Anyway, very disappointed 😞.

Google
Great place for a huge breakfast. I ordered pancakes sausage and a sticky bun and it was way too much food. Great service from the owner at 7 am on a Friday.

Google

Google
This place is always a great go to! Been around forever and it's still just as welcoming and serving all the comfort food. This croissant was massively delicious.

Google
Welcoming and friendly, helpful, attentive staff make this diner a great place to eat! Food was delicious and huge! Fun decor.

Google
Had a delicious breakfast at Antique Row Cafe! We sat in the outdoor patio which is very dog friendly. We ordered the California omelette with a home biscuit and the breakfast croissant with turkey. The food was really good! One of the best omelettes I’ve had in a while. Incredibly friendly staff. The restroom also has a changing table. Recommend!

Big portions, cinnamon rolls & biscuits are my daughter's favorite. Unassuming location, perfect for reconnecting with my teenage daughter. Inspired by moments of healing. @healing-ground.online

Yelp
With well over 600 reviews you'd be hard-pressed to see me use words like "Amazing" or "Awesome". Here it is certainly warranted. None of my regular breakfast spots for Chicken fried Steak or Biscuits & Gravy even begin to compare to Antique Row. Why did it take me 7 years to try is what I can't figure out. I feel bad because I've been missing out. Their food is seriously light years away from what used to be favorites for breakfast, i.e. the Waffle Spot, Kamala's and Brothers, Maple, and Black Bear to name a few, this place leaves them all wanting and truly pale by comparison. Poor Madi, only a block away; why go there when I have this? Their pancakes are actually off the hook, and tasty like no other, I'm totally serious here Yelpers, I've never lied to you before, try this place and you'll sign your home over to me as a thank you.

Yelp
I like this breakfast spot. The decor is cute and quirky in here, and the vintage aesthetic lends to the ambiance. The restaurant is pretty dimly lit. As for the food, the portions are big and it tastes pretty good. I love how the hash browns are cooked. The poached eggs on my eggs benedict were cooked perfectly. I got the Cali Benedict that came with bacon, spinach, avocado, and tomatoes. The ingredients tasted pretty fresh with the exception of the English muffin, which had an oily texture. The hollandaise sauce didn't really stand out too much, though. The ultimate cinnamon roll was huge! The glaze wasn't 100% to my liking (a bit on the sour side) but the roll itself was pretty good. It can definitely be shared between 2-3 people. My husband said the corned beef hash was pretty good. Service was really friendly! I would return. HOWEVER the bill at the end was such a shock. $60 for breakfast for 2 people after tip.

Yelp
I loved the retro vibe of this diner and the food really hit the spot! We went in around 10:30am for brunch on a Saturday. It was busy, but the restaurant is spacious so we had no trouble getting seated. You're instantly thrown back in time; the vintage decorations, old posters, and toys and apparel are a taste of Midwest 1960s Americana. I ordered the ultimate french toast, made with the restaurant's cinammon roll, with a side of sausage and eggs. The menu was pretty stacked so I debated for a while, but it definitely did not disappoint! The cinnamon roll was so fluffy, tasted homemade, and was the perfect match for my morning sweet tooth. The restaurant staff was incredibly friendly and kind, and the prices were hard to beat, especially for the size of the meal. I'll definitely be back - hoping to try one of their savory dishes next round!

Yelp
I use to live nearby and loved eating here. If you go around brunch time, you will need to wait for a table, they get busy and rightly so. The food here doesn't disappoint- anything and everything I've had here is delicious and definitely made with love. We came on a Monday and sadly they didn't have any cinnamon rolls which are to die for- but next time we'll get one! We enjoyed our food so much I forgot to get pics- good prices and friendly staff too. A must try when in the area.

Yelp
Located on a corner with plenty of surrounding street parking (metered), but if you get there later than 9am, it's a fight. Inside, it has a vintage aesthetic, with various decor littering the walls. Plenty of seating. You can also sit outside where they have 3 tables. I loved that they had a doggie area for passing pups to get a quick drink or treat. Staff was friendly and attentive. We were automatically served waters, even our dog companion got an ice cold bowl. If you have a sweet tooth, get the cinnamon roll. It's large so you can definitely share amongst 2 to 3 people. I ordered the eggs benedict and enjoyed the hollandaise sauce. My potatoes were nice and crisp. I do feel like it could have used more salt but some hot sauce made the meal better. The chilaquiles weren't to my liking. But if I get the chance to go again, I'd aim to try the time-tested favorites.

Yelp
This cafe is a place of nostalgic items (old lunch boxes; soda bottles and pics of old movie stars! The menu had many offerings and it made it difficult to choose what I wanted to sample! The service was friendly and food came out promptly! I enjoyed my brief time here and would recommend if you are in the area!

Yelp
Unfortunately this place has gone downhill since when they got a new owners. The food is subpar, and the service is just ok. I have spent my time here long before the other management came and have specific people whom I prefer to do my orders and management keeps stepping in to "take care" of my order. That all being said the ambiance has changed and it's not as dark inside which is unfortunate, as it added some spunk to the older version.

Yelp
The food is very good here, large portions and a good value. I've been here for both breakfast and lunch. One of my favorite foods is Chicken Fried Steak and IMO the one here is about the best I have had. For just under $18. I recently had their Chicken Fried Steak, two eggs, home style potatoes, extra gravy, and delicious pancakes (you have a choice of toast or a biscuit too). I've dined here with my partner and friends. Everyone has always enjoyed their meal. Service is also attentive & friendly. I also live in Honolulu, where Chicken Fried Steak is not often on the menu, so this is a must for me when I am in town. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Another warm visit. Food flavor and good friends. The only con is parking. But that's not on the restaurant.

Yelp
First time ever here and I liked it. They're fast with coming with your food and drinks. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Will come back for that cinnamon roll!
google avatar

Ro N.

Yelp
The customer service here is great. The food is not, I ordered corned beef hash Benedict with home fries and an ultimate French toast. The Benedict had no flavor the hollandaise sauce had no flavor the home fries bland and the corned beef was Libby's out of a can. For the price point it's not worth it and the seasoning is not there . The ultimate French toast is a French toast cinnamon roll once again the flavor here was an after thought it tasted like a store bought cinnamon roll dipped on one side in French toast batter. This place had good food last time I went in the 2010's but this was not it.

Yelp
Well-priced, delicious comfort food in a traditional diner setting. Very cute place with attentive and doting waitstaff, super quick breakfast service. It's mostly street parking in this area, but it's all very walkable if you do have to park farther away. Comfy booths and cozy ambiance. Their ultimate French toast is a standout--crazy good! It's literally two smashed cinnamon rolls that they flatten onto the griddle and can easily be shared between several people. I got the two egg/two sausage combo with it which was the perfect salty complement to a decadently sweet dish. My husband enjoyed the pancakes (he said 4 out of 5 stars for his meal) as well. It was like $35 for both meals and two sodas which was on the cheaper end of our lil food tour through San Diego this weekend.

Yelp
One of my favorite singers by FAR. been coming here for years. They really do have to work on having better coffee. The coffee is not great.

Yelp
Went to Antique Row Cafe after attending the Adam's Avenue Festival. It was a short 5 min walk away. A friend and I arrived at 1pm, 1 hour before they close. It was a little warm inside so opted for the front patio under the shade. Food was great, good portion and fresh. I had the Reuben with tater tots and my friend had the clubhouse with fries. The service was spotty with no one taking our order for 15 minutes, but when the server came she was very friendly. The bad about outdoors was flies. They had the fly fan but it only marginally helped keep the flies away.

Yelp
love this hidden gem (: for the price, youre getting a whole lot of food! came in on a tuesday morning and it was decently busy, but servers were very quick and attentive. love the vintage vibe and ambiance, plus theres neighborhood street parking nearby and a parking lot across the street!
google avatar

Yelp
Food was delicious even though my Benedicts were drowning in Hollandaise sauce. I would've preferred a minimal amount. The portions are hearty enough to put you in a food coma well at least for me! Service was good, never had an empty cup of coffee. The ambiance is pretty cool with old eclectic memorabilia decorated throughout the restaurant.

Yelp
Great breakfast! Huge portion, tasty, and very quick with the coffee refill service. I love Antique Row!

Yelp
Went on a date with a self-proclaimed "extreme" introvert--I wish there was a review page based solely on people we date from online dating apps now that I'm single AF, haha. Anyway back to the point, Antique Row is like a rustic Denny's... only more charming and decadent. It has a neighborly feel and I can tell that it's popular with the mature demographic. My date ordered the chicken fried steak and I had a croissant sandwich with bacon. The portions were knockout huge which is what I wanted from a place like this. I also ordered a mimosa that I wish was 2x bigger but you also have the option of buying a bottle. I thought about ordering it for myself but I didn't want to scare my date off! So to my chagrin, I had to sit there sipping like a coy and nubile debutante. I wouldn't take another date here for the first time because I'm at a period in my life where I'm craving more extravagance and excitement but I do appreciate the atmosphere here. I will definitely return alone on a day where I want to stare into the abyss and overeat.

Yelp
This is the spot! Your antique good service hidden restaurant. It was my first time here today and I absolutely loved the old school vibe, the pictures it felt like home. We were seated right away, the hostess took us back and he grabbed our drink order. Very nice and friendly. Then our server came in within the couple minutes for us to place our order. Everything came fast and it was really good. I had the banana nut French toast with blueberries on the side it was so good. Not too sweet and the two slices were very fulfilling. It came with eggs and my choice of either hash browns or house potatoes, I went with the classic house. Pretty big portion. Also got the fluffiest two stack of pancakes, really good! The coffee was great, mimosa as-well. I am one happy customer and can't wait to be A) back, B) tell everybody about this place. Note: Street parking or meter parking

Yelp
Still the best Patty Melt in San Diego IMHO. I have tried multiple places for Patty Melts and haven't found one better yet. Price has gone up with new ownership but the melt still tastes great. They've definitely remodeled the location and there are fewer of the familiar faces working there (although still a couple). I think the dining area probably could have used the refresh. I can't tell if it necessarily resulted in more table seating but it feels roomier with the extra space created by getting rid of the old bar area that was never used. We also had the California Omelette with hash browns and a biscuit on the side. The biscuit is just huge and can definitely be shared. The omelette was made with fresh ingredients and tasty. I recommend getting the fries well done if you like them crispy. Overall a satisfying and filling meal.

Yelp
The food was delish The service was excellent, we waited about 15 to 20 minutes for our table. The hostess and waitress were nice and pleasant. The ambiance was fun they played rock and roll music and some Michael Jackson. They have tons of 1950's memorabilia. We will be returning

Yelp
The food was great. Very cool ambience and good service. Loved the cinnamon roll. I really liked the decor.
google avatar

Yelp
Always filling! Most dishes are great, some are a bit weak... french toast. The Cinnabon Roll is crazy thick and sweet. I prefer the 4 Fuckin Egg Omelets and Protein packed meat and egg plates. Take your friends. It's nice to chat while waiting, you should never eat alone and etiquette is observed... you won't shovel your food!

Yelp
Are you starving and need something hearty to get you through the day? Are you reminiscing about your childhood and spending time with your grandparents over biscuits and gravy? Do you want to be taken care of and treated like family at a restaurant? Antique Row Cafe is right off Adams and was calling our name on Sunday morning after waking up very early. The hubby and I wanted something savory with a side of sweet for breakfast without all the frills. We ordered the cinnamon roll which was gigantic and easily shareable between 3-4 people. Did it get devoured by 2 people?...maybe. It was sweet, delicate and had a dollop of butter that added to the richness of the cream cheese frosting. Since I had my weight in sweets, I decided to carbo load and get a side of grits with butter as well as a side of bacon. The grits were soft, salted perfectly and melted in my mouth with the butter. My husband ordered two eggs scrambled with sausage, hash browns and wheat toast. The portion was very generous, hash browns were crisp on the outside and tender inside while the eggs were scrambled perfectly. The service was out of this world and I wish the lady helping us would adopt me to be her daughter. Nicest server ever!

Yelp
First time eating here and it won't be our last! The food, portions and services are top notch! Thank you Antique Row Cafe!

Yelp
Just went here and they told me they're closed, at noon, two hours before actual closing! So now I have to find somewhere else to eat.

Robert D.

Yelp
Awesome. I always come back when I'm in the area. Love the chicken fried steak. Service is right on par.

M S.

Yelp
Went to this place today for breakfast and didn't like the food at all, I used to eat at this place when the original owners Mario and Elane owned it, and it was amazing back then. The food was so unseasoned and completely bland, I ordered the chicken fried chicken and noticed right away that it was so unseasoned and bland that it had no flavor at all. These new owners need to pay more attention to what they're serving to their customers, especially when they have so many of the same people coming to eat there from the prior owners.
google avatar

Anna U.

Yelp
The people are friendly and treat you like family! The food is delicious but the portions are big. I didn't get a chance to finish my food and took it home. The next day I only ate a small portion of my leftovers and threw the rest away. I really don't like wasting food. But, you need to try this place because the food, staff and decor is worth checking it out!
google avatar

jenny w.

Yelp
We went to try and have breakfast at one of the fancy brunch places and there was an hour wait or full sun and this place was perfect with huge portions! Great service fun atmosphere and fun decor.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
I'm not usually compelled to write a bad review, but this place just wasn't very good. Awful fluorescent lighting inside Served my tea in a paper to-go cup and not a mug The "butter" on the toast tasted like bad movie theater butter, at best. Subtle notes of acetone in the cinnamon roll. Service was great, but that's about the only saving grace. I don't feel the need to go back.
google avatar

Sandy G.

Yelp
Empty. I've been waiting for my refill for more than 15 mins. Is not so busy right now. If it was I would have understood. The service horrible. I ask for coke, coffee and 3 cups of water and we only got one. Didn't bother to come and say is everything okay or something like that. They just came with the receipt didn't bother to say if we need something else they just left the receipt and left. This place it's not like before where you left welcome. I wouldn't recommend this place anymore.
google avatar

Gina E.

Yelp
The food was great and the atmosphere is even better! Tons of interesting things on the walls and the seating area is very comfortable. It gives mom+pop shop which is great when eating breakfast. Portions are large and filling, everything is very flavorful. The staff was friendly and checking up on us. There menu has something for everyone to enjoy for breakfast and lunch. We got there around 12:30 on a Sunday and it was only about a 15 min wait which is great compared to other places.

Yelp
As a longtime patron of Antique Row Cafe, I can confirm that the real/old Antique Row cafe is officially dead and gone. While I commend the menu re-design and removing items (less is better imo), I cannot recommend the food. The biscuits are now so incredibly dry, completely void of any flavor. No butter or jam was saving this. Not even the classic move, which is just using gravy from my country fried steak. The gravy now has little to no sausage in it, more translucent and overall tasted like it had been thinned out. The cut of chicken for the chicken fried chicken is much smaller and the spices have been changed. You used to need a fork and knife to cut it, now it just cuts with a fork. In general, everything tasted "thinned out". Empty. And not only can you taste the difference of these cost cutting measures, everything has been raised in price. That single dry biscuit with mediocre, bland gravy on it? $5.99. We were a party of four. 2 plates of country fried steak($16.99 each), 1 chicken fried chicken (17.99 - a dollar more? WHY?), 1 coffee, 1 soda and 1 biscuit with gravy (5.99). Total was over $70. Tip was more than adequate, although not deserved. Our server didn't bring us our biscuits for a good 5 minutes. We had to remind her. No water refills. I get we are all human, but it just wasn't busy enough to be making those kinds of mistakes. Don't get me wrong. Antique Rows was not that great before ownership changed. It especially went downhill after they removed the monterrey potato cakes. No disrespect to Maria and Mario (I think that was their names), I ate there a TON. Took friends there after a night out, family visiting... Etc. Been going since I was a teenager. But after my last visit, it really put it into perspective just how bad it has become after it sold to new owners. RIP Antique Row Cafe! Just change it to something else and start over. This aint it!

Yelp
Great homemade biscuit--huge and hot. The chicken fried steak was tasty too. They have cinnamon rolls and I'll bet they're great too
google avatar

Stephanie S.

Yelp
This place is usually bumping on a weekend. I've tried a lot of things on the menu and it's simple but delicious most of the time. Still not a fan of the bacon but the waitresses check on you constantly and keep your coffee hot and full.
google avatar

Ruth C.

Yelp
I suggested the Antique Row Cafe for lunch with a friend and wow, got the parking spot right in front! The waiters were cordial, brought my tea and left me to read my book until my friend arrived. Portions were huge if you like taking a couple of meals home, but the hollandaise on my Eggs Benedict was disappointing -- obviously not homemade. There wasn't even a hint of lemon. Eggs and ham were done well. Tasty! My 3-Stars is stretching it aa bit after what came next. Our waiter proceeded to sweep the room with a vengeance, 40 minutes before their announced closing time. It was obvious that we were no longer wanted. I'm allergic to dust...so we left. That's the baad taste that's still in my mouth. Too bad. I won't go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Fast service to go , but the biscuits and gravy are nothing like they were 6 years ago .... Biscuits were dry !!!! Gravy was BLAND!!! Eggs taste like powder ???? I don't know what happened but yikes !
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
Freaking delicious! The corn beef hash was all so well cooked and felt like I was back East in a NJ diner! The biscuit was freshly made and when butter was added to it, melted completely! The Louisiana hot links had a great kick to them and the French toast was extremely tasty too! Great little place to eat at!

Yelp
Well let me start by saying this place used to be AMAZING. Literally I would go here every single weekend! It was that amazing! Well when the new management comes in, everything went to shit. They were rude towards customers, my favorite waitresses would always come to assist me as they knew my order but management would always intervene and not let them help me. Even the food changed, and the food was VERY different. The steak and eggs became eggs and disappointment. The steak was not good and cheap. The fact that a small glass of orange juice is the same price of soda is also a joke. The fact is the orange juice you can't get refills on, and it's very small. When the new management took over they made this place go down hill very FAST. It's a disappointment, and not a good place to eat.

Ron B.

Yelp
I love this restaurant!!! The server and the service is excellent and very friendly people! The portions and the food are amazing!!!
google avatar

Charlotte R.

Yelp
We came Saturday morning just before the brunch rush and were seated right away. Everyone working said hello, with big smiles, and seemed genuinely happy to welcome us. The food came out just minutes after we ordered and our server came back often to check on us and top off our coffees. There were no issues with the food but I felt some extra seasoning could have helped the potatoes. It was an enjoyable meal however, so I would definitely come back.
google avatar

Vikki H.

Yelp
I had a little business to do in that area and I was looking to get a pastry and coffee and I saw this place on the corner, looked at their menu outside and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Nopalitos with scrambled eggs, refried beans, rice and flour tortillas. O...M...G! It was sooooooo good!!! I rarely finish anything because I really don't eat that much. I have not eaten so much in my life. This is the kind of meal that I will think about for a long time. I WILL go back and soon! The servers, the food, the coffee, it was all so good! Oh! And the price was very reasonable. Vikki H. Hillcrest

Yelp
Service was a little slow but the food is always good! They can use a little upgrade with the décor but overall it was a good experience.

Yelp
First time here and this place was great. We had the Irish Croissant with home fries (happy I chose this in place of the hash browns, really good), California Benedict with grits (trying to change it up) and the Ultimate Cinnamon Roll (as big as your head, or fist!). All were great and I definitely will be back to try other dishes. I want to try the Ultimate French Toast (french toast, cinnamon roll combo) although from the pics it looks like they don't serve it with syrup so will definitely ask for that to add to the strawberries and whip cream. But it looks great. I loved how the Cinnamon Roll did come with syrup (and butter). I want to try the biscuits & gravy, vegetable scrambler, steak and eggs as well as their specials. I normally don't get Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken Fried Chicken but if you like that dish I'd give it a try. And our main dishes were a lot of food so nice to see they aren't skimping like a lot of restaurants. The inside was cute and authentic. The booths are nice and comfortable. The service wasn't spectacular and our waitress didn't seem super happy to be there. But I'll give her a break because we all have our days.
google avatar

JOHN R.

Yelp
Always liked dropping in early for the breakfast special menu. The 50's/60's vibe was authenticated by a gaggle of friendly servers who called you honey. I was excited to see that ARC was posting "open 7 days a week"', when they used to close on Monday & Tuesday. I had to drop in. No more breakfast special! Where the look was kitschy retro, now the interior is just jumbled & disheveled, even with some new booths. The old servers were replaced with one young lady alone who tried valiantly to service 7 tables by herself. The food was still decent but had significantly jumped in price even excluding the former "special" menu. Sadly, won't be going back...
google avatar

Amber P.

Yelp
I am sad to see the great recipes become a thing of the past. New owners state that there are no changes, but I've been eating here for many years and can absolutely tell you that it is not the same. The biscuits are smaller, dry and taste like old baking mix with too much baking soda. And the omelette was so overdone it was like rubber, but yet the cheese was not melted. How is that possible? Well, I guess time to move on to another breakfast joint.
google avatar

Walker S.

Yelp
Invited by our friend Mike to a Friday breakfast. What a great place. Food was top rate. And the service was out of this world good. I had the scrambled, bacon, hashbrowns, toast traditional. It was fabulous. Coffee was wonderful with regular top offs by a smiling and friendly staff. Manager even dropped by to make sure we were go. My recommendation is go here and soon. You do not want to miss this one.

Yelp
Cool ambiance. Old school movie and performer paraphernalia. We had breakfast there. Huge portions. The green chili omelette was awesome.
