Street Food Vendors Are Returning in Queens But With No Certainty Of Customers | Eater NY
"I learned from co-owner Stephanie Sucasaca that the Peruvian food truck returned to operating in April despite hearing ambulances constantly headed to nearby Elmhurst Hospital, driven back by $250 monthly garage rental fees and mortgage payments; Sucasaca says the bills forced them to risk going out because government support for small vendors was lacking. To adapt, they introduced new lunch hours and delivery in April, adding pesto pasta with steak, breaded chicken with rice, and a trio marino (a combination platter of three seafood dishes) to the menu, and have seen more pick-up sandwich orders and a recent increase in foot traffic that sometimes brings sales back to pre-Covid levels, though business still fluctuates week to week." - Caroline Shin
"A Peruvian street-cart operation that expanded hours and added delivery, especially prized for its refreshing ceviche de pescado that’s perfect on a hot day." - Joe DiStefano
In search of authentic mexican tamales, I ended up driving 45 minutes from home. It was worth it. The chicken tamales and rajas had great flavor. As usual, like almost all tamales, the ratio of meat to masa is off. But I'm starting to think that that's just the way tamales are made, more masa (dough) than whatever filling you choose.

They are legit picarones- so crunchy and perfect!! Like the ones they sell on the streets in Peru and in Parque Kennedy! They bring back good memories of Peru and I love them so much <33333

I love this place, the picarones are my favorite! The syrup is homemade and tastes like home. I also love the chicharron sandwich 😋

The chaufa is on point. Taste like the one from a peruvian stand 100% Dame goes for the creams.
I order mostrito today. Everything was good but the pollo broster was salty. I will assume it was just a bad batter day I will try it again next time and see if the salty chicken is fine better but overall the place and the rations are well worth the money.
Only wished my chicken wasn't salty cause I was hungry 😔

I ain't gon lie I ain't bought from here due to the fact that it's under the train & in a busy area, but the food always smells (and looks) SCRUMPTIOUS. The prices aren't high, & the people are nice, & considering I always see customers, It oughta be good eats. Open every day from 11am to 9pm i think. It's a whole lotta people that sell good & services around this place too.

Yelp
I saw this place featured on Munchies under the caption The Antojitos Queen Of New York City and decided to give this place a try since I live close by. It's a cart located on 90th st and Roosevelt ave that sells homemade Peruvian food, the cart looks like a regular cart but their food was pretty awesome.
The Food:
Anticucho- The beef heart was my fav item here. The heart was so tender and I loved the smokiness from the grill. The texture of the heart was wonderful. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=xkN4jYiAZD4Tykpf9NQ0Lw&userid=Y_iTTjKvV5hLy-880SZzlA
Ceviche de Pescado- I thought this was great, I loved the acidic kick from the leche de tigre and I loved how it was able to add so much flavor to the fish.
Lomo Saltado- This was a standard item, it was good but not the most exciting but it did have a good flavor.
Tamale- The texture of the tamale was great. Flavor was good.
Empanada- This was ok, it kinda threw me off that there were raisins in it. I prefer my savory items to just be savory.

Yelp
I found about Doña Fela was on Tik Tok!! I thought she was so cute and loved the way she was promoting herself. I trekked from Newark, NJ to Queens because I wanted to support! My girlfriend and I made a day of it went to the corner of Roosevelt and 90th for some authentic Peruvian food. I had the sandwich de chicharron with an inca cola. The sandwich was toasted but I would have preferred the chicharron was crunchier. However, it was still flavorful and delicious with sauteed onions and sweet potato. It definitely hits the sweet and salty craving. Keep in mind that this is located in a busy intersection and there's always a mob of people walking by. Make sure you go with a homie to get the best experience!

Yelp
Incredible. Authentic, delicious, affordable, and fast.
I would love to come here every weekend.

Yelp
Love this place. It's a cart right off the 90th Street station on the north side of Roosevelt. Just had their ceviche and it was so fresh flavorful. I saw the earlier comment that it was very salty, but I did not find that to be the case. The atmosphere it a little nuts because it seems like you've left NYC with all the street vendor on the weekend. You'll smell lots of coal grilled meats too. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Wow where to begin, stay away from her spaghetti verde way too greasy And no flavor her ceviche is way to salty. The aji de gallina is so so and the Carapulcra is bland no flavor no peanuts at all? Overall mediocre and lack of flavor I'll avoid it

Yelp
Soooo good, I want to come back and try everything. Delicious, fresh fish ceviche made on the spot. Chicken tamale had great flavor, too. The aji de gallina was kind of like a curry with chicken and potatoes. Also perfect. I would order everything again.

Yelp
The arroz con pollo here is very good. I also tried the Peruvian specialty chanfainita (made with cow lung, hominy, potato, and spicy sauce/broth) here for the first time; I thought was good, the meat didn't taste gamey, quite tender actually, but maybe not for you if you have an aversion to other organ meats like liver and heart. My girlfriend also really liked the tamales de puerco (pork).
