Yelp
This is probably one of my favorite Salvadoran restaurants in Houston. Their menu is expansive - offering pupusas, soups, seafood, parilladas...
If you're new to Salvadoran food, you can't go wrong with the pupusa plate, which comes with two pupusas of choice, tamale of your choice and fried plantains or fried yuca. If you want to eat on the lighter side, the fried mojara plate with rice and salad is a solid choice - the whole fish was cooked perfectly and could easily feed 2-4 people. Salsa wasn't too spicy; curtido (cabbage salad) was great. The tortillas are homemade, too!
Aguas frescas, beer, and micheladas are some bevs of choice. My grandmother loved the agua de jamaica; and the michelada mix was good. Wasn't expecting a Salvadoran restaurant to offer up a good michi.
Cash and credit are both accepted. Menu has food photos, so no worries about any language barrier. Food comes out hot and fast.
For those commenting on it being a rough neighborhood ... how so? It's a predominantly Latino neighborhood. Not sure how that translates into "rough." Expand your life experiences already...
