Heard about this place on social media and wanted to give it a try. Came here on a Saturday Morning around 10:45 am and it was already quite busy. So many great options of sandwiches to choose from but we ended up going with the #1 Ham, Salami, Mortadella and Provolone Cheese 12 inch sub sandwich. This also comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper and oregano. We liked the portion and freshness to the sandwich! I think I would have preferred more oil and vinegar on my sandwich though.

Antonelli's is a family owned deli in a nondescript industrial area that is frequented by hard-working blue collar types. They know it's the best deli in east county. The freshest bread and they don't skip on meats & cheeses. And at a reasonable price. They're not fast at creating your sandwich, but it's so worth the wait.

Definitely one of the best sandwich spots in east country Consistently good order is always correct and service is always excellent the restaurant always looks very clean I usually get a cold pastrami on a sub roll my wife will switch up sandwiches she is usually very happy with the different sandwiches she orders there is plenty of parking we usually order on the phone and pick them up

Wow, Antonelli's is GREAT! I'm from Jersey where they have real delis! I found Antonelli's 15 years ago and I can't stop raving about it. The #1 Italian Sub is my go to and if you get the 8 inch, it is HUGE!! It is 2 lunches worth of food. PRO TIP - Order over the phone ahead of time or you might have to wait up to 45 minutes to get your sandwich. If you order ahead... you walk in when they say it will be ready, pay and eat your delicious sub right away. It's a great family place where they even know you by name if you are a regular! Shout out to Andy the owner and Marcelino the GM who keep the place pushing out great food time after time.

This place is absolutely fireeeeeeeeee!! I mean look at the size of this sandwich. It felt like a marathon trying to finish the sandwich. A must visit if you are in San Diego or east side.

We went to try out this place for lunch. I ordered the grilled pastrami on sourdough and my friend got the 8" vegetarian. The pastrami was delicious. It was perfectly grilled and had a lot of meat. Next time, I'll add onion and hold the lettuce. My friend said the vegetarian sub was delicious, but it was just too much food. IlNext time she would definitely order the 4". I also ordered the number one sub to go. Later, when we went to eat it, we realized it was too much bread and was so dry. We took off the whole bottom bread and then added some mayo and Italian dressing to it and ate it open-faced, and it was delicious. Next time we will order it on sourdough or squaw bread. We will definitely be back.

I had no clue a sandwich could be this good!!! Antonelli’s makes the greatest Turkey sandwich I have ever had in my entire life. I travel for work and I specially requested that we come back her for lunch two days in a row. There is typically a lunch time rush that starts around 1130, but the staff at Antonelli’s moves pretty quick. They close at 4 so you can pick it up for dinner later in the day. If you’re in El Cajon and you’re looking for a Deli with some real heart and soul, come on down to Antonelli’s!!!

Duuuuuuuuude. I've driven past this place hundreds of times and had no idea it was there. This is like one of those places you see on the food network: some old hole in the wall family operated deli spot in Brooklyn or something where you just know it's amazing. I got a 6 inch sub, which I thought was gonna be like a little sandwich like at subway, and so I was upset about spending $16 on a 6 inch sandwich, but I was wrong because when it came to the table, it was a GIGANTIC MONSTER of a sandwich. It was falling off the sides of the plate! Ya...it's 6 inches by 6 inches wide lol (and probably bigger than that)....I couldn't even finish it. I got the Pastrami Ruben sandwich (#38) and it was very obviously super high quality meat and ingredients. I'll be going here for the rest of my life now. I don't normally gush this hard about a spot, but this place is the real deal. Whoever rated this place less than 5 stars is from another dimension of reality, where sense is not common.
