The Most Popular New Hotels of 2023

"The seaside village of Charlestown is one of Cornwall’s most picturesque destinations, and sees its fair share of tourism, especially in the summer months. One way to avoid any hint of a crowd is to duck into one of Antonia’s Pearls, a collection of cottages, a cabin, a studio, and a Georgian townhouse restored by owners and operators Antonia and David in a style that’s chic, unpretentious, and memorably eclectic." - Mark Fedeli

A simply wonderfully relaxing 4 night break at the Sea Cabin (one of Antonia's Pearls) on Quay Road in Charlestown. 1 double bed, kitchen, living area, outside private lawn with firepit. Everything you could want for a luxury mini break - so quiet yet just a short two minute walk to the historic harbour for food and drink. Lovely walks surround the area - you need to be relatively fit, we wished we had brought the golf clubs - that will sadly have to be on our next visit. Antonia and David are super hosts - friendly and helpful to make sure you have settled in and answer any questions.||Already planning a return visit - thank you for this taste of paradise - bring on retirement!!!||Tony & Kate White|Shropshire UK

Absolutely beautiful place, perfect for our family stay! We rented a few of the pearls for a family birthday trip and they were the perfect places for our group of 7 adults and 5 kids (aged 1 to 9 years old). Each of the homes are beautifully decorated with lovely gardens. They truly felt like our own seaside homes for the weekend. Charlestown was a great place for our family stay - lovely local restaurants and a nice place to explore the coast from. Antonia was so thoughtful - checking in each step of the way and providing lots of recommendations and accommodating our kids with all we needed for them for our stay (cot, high chair, monitor, etc.). Highly recommend!

Having stayed in Blossom in 2024 i can honestly say i was very disappointed. What should of been a lovely 30th Wedding Anniversary break was let down by the cleanliness of the cottage.. Cobwebs in every corner and the floors very sticky and felt like they were cleaned with a dirty mop and water. Chipped plates and cups and debris under the bed. When we pulled our suitcase out from under the bed it was covered in dust and wrappers. Such a shame as it could be a wonderful place ro stay if clean..Once bitten twice shy for staying here again sadly !.

We recently stayed for 4 nights in Charlestown to ‘bookend’ our younger daughter’s wedding at the nearby Eden Project. A group of us shared Blossom and Olivia’s cottages. They are side by side in a delightful position overlooking the little harbour. Both cottages are very comfortable, beautifully decorated and lavishly equipped. Each with their own tiny garden and parking space. We didn’t have time to venture much beyond Charlestown itself but enjoyed exploring it on foot, and sampling some of the local restaurants. The wedding went off very well and – judging by the comments of others – we had made an excellent choice of accommodation. The fact that both cottages were so comfortable, helped in making the overall occasion such a success. Thank you Antonia.

Olivia's Cottage is perfection, from the views, to the fully fitted kitchen, to the wonderfully comfortable beds and power shower. This is a true home from home in a stunning location. Antonia's care and attention from the point the booking was made was wonderful - she provided all the details one could ask for about how the cottage 'worked', parking and what there was to do locally, and let us know she was just a phone call away should we have needed anything. We loved the little touches like florentines waiting in the fridge, with a jug of milk ready along with leaf tea and ground coffee. I can also recommend Short & Strong Cafe & Deli a short stroll away for seriously good coffee.

Wow! What a lovely cottage in the beautiful harbour town of Charlestown. Absolutely immaculately clean. Beautifully decorated throughout. Very comfortable bed. Great full kitchen with everything you could possibly need - and more! (We loved using the juicer for fresh OJ in the mornings). We’d pre-booked a cheeseboard and it was fantastic. Well worth it. Fridge was also stocked with milk and all the makings for overnight oats: delicious natural yoghurt, blueberries, strawberries… Very highly recommended 😃 Thank you for a lovely stay.

Wow! I am so happy I found this place, for a couple The Studio was great, next time I’d splash out on a bit bigger place but for 2 nights we loved it. It’s very well designed and furnished, super soft bed linen and everything you’d want from a cottage vs a hotel room. We loved the shower and gorgeous soft towels. Antonia is an amazing host, always wanting to make sure everything all ok and I loved the little notes and touches in the place, from the fresh flowers to the cinnamon buns and fresh milk in the fridge. Highly recommend this place. Helped by loving Charlestown ❤️

Just back from a lovely holiday at this gorgeous cottage. Wonderfully renovated in a stylish coastal theme. ‘Upside down’ style with a main bedroom and ensuite, 2 more double bedrooms and a bathroom. Upstairs a spacious living room, log burner and front to back windows.....brilliant for a breeze in the warm weather we had. Kitchen is well equipped for those wanting to cook and a dining table. Beds, linen and towels of a very acceptable standard. The location of this place would be hands down hard to beat.|The most FANTASTIC views from the front windows across the harbour with the tall ships and out to the sea. Lovely garden and if you went to the top of it you looked straight out to sea. Everything within a few mins stroll. We ate out every night in the village, wandered down to either of the little beaches, stopped for coffee, cakes and good wine. Charlestown is a busy, seemingly thriving place and a great base to visit other towns, countryside and beaches. |Antonia is super friendly, manages this very well and was on hand if we needed her.
