Antonio's Pizza is a smaller Pizza shop but well known to many students in the area as one of the best pizza shops, and for good reason. The staff are very friendly, get the orders out quickly, and are able to adapt very well. The shop is pretty small, with only a few seating areas, but they are able to control any fluctuations in customers and make sure everyone gets their orders out quick. Pizza is reasonably priced, and comes in multiple varieties. Each pizza is well crafted with great ingredients, and the pizza is baked well enough that it isnt too oily but the taste is very good. Overall, it is a must visit in the area, whether for a late night meal or for casual dinner.

Google
Fantastic pizza. Great topping selection. Run by people who love to be there. I tried slices of: spicy chicken and veggie, pesto with tomato, pesto with tortellini, and a pepperoni sausage. Would recommend everything!

Google
Always love going to Antonio’s. So many different varieties of pizza like the avocado nacho pizza which is my personal favorite and tortellini pesto pizza 🍕😋it’s a college town so lots of college students come in. It’s somewhat loud but a casual atmosphere. Perfect for a quick bite for lunch.

Google
Amazing selection of pizza topping combinations. It's a little pricey, but worth it for me. Enjoyed a slice of seafood (shrimp and lobster) and a slice of steak and mushroom. Delicious.

Google
Food at this place was outstanding. I went here during lunch break on my drive back to my clinical shift which is a 2 hour drive. Was greeted by Olivia and Bill. Both provided excellent customer service with a smile. Gave great recommendations for pizza and prices were affordable. Olivia was a sweetheart very bubbly and kind energy. Her boss Bill was friendly and made me laugh. I will always return when in Amherst. Best pizza in town!

Couldn't love this place more if I tried, visited recently after 25 years and it's still as perfect as it was when I was a student at UMASS. Great pizza, great atmosphere, great people.

Google
Antonio’s Wacky Wednesdays offers any slice for $3, which is a great value. I went there with my family for a quick mid-afternoon bite. I love the crust and the portion sizes. We enjoyed the experience and will be back for sure.

Google
College town ambiance. Sometimes, wait lines go out the door. Outside tables, as well. After the original owner passed away, I felt like the recipe changed, but maybe that's my nostalgia "kicking-in" after eating this pizza for over 30 years. Very tasty. 😋

Yelp
Best pizza place in Amherst!! Will only serve pizza slices, not whole pies after 9:30pm but it is only to increase their service speed for drunk and hungry college kids. My boyfriend and I love getting a large pizza with mushrooms, sausage, and pepperoni. The pizza is soo good and will fill you up for multiple meals. The restaurant itself doesn't have too much room for sitting, especially with a whole pizza so most take it to go. The staff are always kind and patient as well. Once we called for a whole pizza close to their cutoff time and the guy on the phone said that they were about to stop making whole pies but if we ordered over phone right there, they could still make it for us!

Yelp
We were HUGE fans of Antonio's for several years and introduced friends and family from far and wide to them. We suspect management has changed because their pizza is no longer the same recipe. No longer the buttery, flavorful, olive-oiled crust or zippy pico de gallo and tasty tomatoes. We are disappointed that the quality and deliciousness here have so fallen by the wayside. We're still in search of another pizza restaurant to take their place and have yet to find one as great as the original Antonio's. Very sad and disheartening.

Yelp
Came to this little shop in downtown Amherst. There weren't many people when I first came in but as the evening went on, there was a steady flow of customers. They don't really have any prices but essentially you go up to order your pizza and they heat it up for you. - Spinach Ricotta - I appreciate how many ingredients they put on this pizza and I think that portabella mushrooms were a great add to this. To be honest, I didn't find the pizza particularly memorable in terms of the flavor but I do like the diversity of ingredients here. - White - Could skip. I feel like this pizza was a little bit too cheesy for my taste and there wasn't enough sauce so the pizza itself felt a little dry. I did appreciate the sprinkles of ricotta but I wish they put more in here. I was honestly not the biggest fan of their crust as it was a little bit too chewy and cardboard-y for my taste. To be honest, I do feel like I ordered the wrong pizzas. I think next time I will try their avocado quesadilla or buffalo chicken slices. I will say though that these two slices filled me up quite a bit as the quantity was huge.

Yelp
Excellent pizza by the slice place, where you can order up a whole bunch a la carte. Kudos for multiple vegetarian options, and all sorts of fancy pants invented slices, but they also have the standards for your fans of the classics (helllooooo pepperoni). It's a thinner, not-quite-New York style of crust, and be aware if you get one of the more heavily topped variations, you'll have to fold the pizza to be able to consume it without dumping the contents off. I tend to like the varieties that have fewer numbers of toppings for this reason, but either way you're not going to get cheated in terms of quantity. They are huge slices and they do not skimp on toppings. It's a bit chaotic inside with a very awkward ordering system and seriously limited seating capacity, so you're probably best off ordering ahead and picking up to go, but on the other hand there's a certain ambiance to a super popular college town pizza spot that can't be reproduced anywhere else. Definitely a destination.

Yelp
If you're in Amherst, Antonio's is THAT pizza spot everyone will go to. It always hit the spot when I went to UMASS whenever I was craving late night pizza! The pizza is thin and crispy and pippin hot!! I usually get the Chicken Bacon Ranch or BBQ Chicken! A slice is about ($3.95) and the ranch on the Chicken Bacon pizza is so addicting. If you're in the area or go to school here, it's must to at least try Antonio's once. On weekends especially late at night, the line will be out the door no doubt. You'll eventually get your pizza though pushing through a lot of drunk college people, so I recommend getting it during the day or before 12am

Yelp
I used to come here all the time as a kid, it was a family favorite. I stopped in just for old time's sake, and was happy to see the counter looked just the same, packed with a ton of different slices that are unique to Antonio's. They have every type of pizza imaginable. The staff was very polite and helpful, and seemed to enjoy their work environment. I ordered a tomato, basil + mozzarella slice with red sauce, and it was nearly perfect taste. The ingredients were stuffed and fresh. But the slices could be slightly larger. Ambience: 3/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Antonio's: 4/5

Yelp
We came here after my partner's cousin, who attends college at Amherst, had been hyping up this place and it definitely met the hype! I tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch, Beef Taco, and Tomato Pesto. All tasted really good, but what surprised me the most was the Tomato Pesto which turned out way better than I expected since I usually like some protein on my pizza.

Allegra C.

Yelp
I have loved Antonio's since high school. Chicken parm is a classic. Black bean avocado doesn't disappoint. Lots of delicious specials. Move all the way in to order.

Amy B.

Yelp
This is the best New York style pizza place in all of western Mass!! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!!

Kevino C.

Yelp
Okay and fairly rated. The variety was plentiful. The tortellini pizza was very thin and crispy and tasted great but it's nothing to rave about. Service was alright and seating was limited but they are very fast. Would come back.

Public Citizen U.

Yelp
Like many veterans have said, pizza is not the same. It is not good anymore. Crust is cheap and shitty. Happened 2x at different times.

Breyana D.

Yelp
Great Service, Pizza is delicious... great place for you to sit and chill and even if you're on the go to grab a slice this is the place

Caroline M.

Yelp
Not much of a pizza person which makes this a bit unfair, but this was raved about by family friends and we stopped by on a trip to Amherst. I'd go again but would try something else.

Nafeeza L.

Yelp
This place has the best pizza in town! Great inventive slices with a new spin on things everyday!

Bob L.

Yelp
This has been a classic pizza place since I went to Umass Amherst (foreverago) and I couldn't resist swinging by when we were in the area. Despite all these years I can still see why it's open and bustling despite these COVID times (it was never really a sit down establishment anyways). The crust is firm but delicate and has a awesome crunch to it. I recommend both the squares and the normal slices. The tomato basil pizza was surprisingly excellent and I highly recommend it if you're in the area! The staff is great and will give you time to look at the (what feels like dozens) slices available for you to try!

Jadiel E.

Yelp
It has good pizza and also great staffing but long lines. Also recommend for wings, cheese pizza, and CBR pizza Chicken Bacon Ranch

Kyle W.

Yelp
This is my pizza shop. Literally. I was born across the street. I used to work there. My picture used to hang on the wall. Today I went in for the first time in months. In 30 years I had the worst service I've ever had at this or any pizza shop anywhere in the world. Who hired these bozos? It seemed like the customers were an inconvenience. Nobody was paying attention to the customers - instead standing there talking to each other. They stood there and ignored six people waiting to order. I had to ask them if they were taking orders. They burned my pizza (and that's even WITH me telling him to take it out the over because it had been too long). Embarrassing. Y'all are falling off. Fix this. Somebody from management contact me after this issue has been handled and I will change this review.

Shayer S.

Yelp
Local to Amherst, I grew up eating Antonio's pizza for a good part of my life. I no longer live in this area but whenever I'm back in Amherst, I hit up the childhood joints. These guys have so many varieties of pizza, it's just incredible. These are not your everyday finds either. My personal favorites over the years are the Chicken Bacon Ranch, Buffalo Chicken, Spicy Chicken, Chicken Parmesan & Honey Mustard Chicken. Yes, that's a lot of chicken options but they also have a ton of vegetarian and red meat options as well! The last two times I have been there, which were about a year apart - it just didn't taste the same. I'm not sure if the recipes changed, not putting the same level of effort into it, or if I have so much more pizza to compare against but it just didn't have that wow factor I remember. The crust was kinda hard and cardboardy, the cheese not enough nor properly melted. It all just felt really average unfortunately. I really hope I caught them on off days (twice?) and hope the next time I go, it will live up to the expectations I remember them to meet.

Sergio M.

Yelp
Best pizza in town. Served by the slice and the variety is great! I love their crust!

Christina A.

Yelp
Antonio's just brings me so much comfort and joy. I've been going here for years due to its proximity to UMass. Their buffalo chicken Sicilian pizza is next level - such a crispy base packed with so much chicken and blue cheese. I go back here at least once a week - so good!

Anne J.

Yelp
Visiting Amherst... Quick lunch stop here, and I was blown away by the creativity. We tried 3 different slices (deep dish cheese, avocado/mozz/red pepper/pesto, and chicken/pepperoni) and all were terrific. The dough was fresh and cooked to perfection. One slice was plenty for lunch! The place was packed when we came in, mostly empty when we left, but seems to have a lot of regulars and a loyal following. Definitely good stuff.

Iris G.

Yelp
What can we say? I missed Antonio's so much since college! So, so, so delicious. My partner had it for the first time and we had it three times in a weekend - wowza. Pizza wasted. We tried veggie, spinach & feta, steak burrito and the by far favorite was chicken bacon ranch (yup. Seriously.) SICILIAN (because again we tried both styles) was the champ. If you're in town go to the OG in Amherst and you won't be disappointed.

Angela K.

Yelp
Antonio's is one of the reasons I came to UMass Amherst. Okay, maybe not actually, but this place is seriously so. good. I am obsessed with unique pizza's and combinations and Antonio's is exactly that. You can get huge slices with so many different topping combinations. Some of my favorites are the pesto tortellini pizza, chicken parmesan pizza and of course, the classic buffalo chicken. Not to be dramatic, but I think they have the best buffalo chicken pizza I've ever had. They're prices are good and they also stay open super late on weekends which is perfect for college students when they need some late night slices!

Gabe K.

Yelp
Cardboard crust. Under-seasoned everything. Absolutely pathetic, wildly overpriced hot circle of garbage. Pizza enthusiasts, go anywhere else.

Brittany W.

Yelp
I came here late at night after landing in Hartford and coming to Amherst for a graduation at Hampshire. If you've gong graduated and been gone, know this: this place is louder and drunker than you remember. Now that I'm over 30? Baby, I cant. I got my slice and ran to my hotel! The pizza was as good as I remember. They have limited options after midnight, though, it seems.

John B.

Yelp
We smelled the food from up the street and searched for it. Amazing. I got the quesadilla slice. Best pizza slice ever. Great service, too.

Becky K.

Yelp
There are literally TONS of slices to choose from. You might get overwhelmed, but you will find something interesting to try. It's almost worth going just to see the different flavor combos they come up with. It's nuts. We ordered 7 different slices and the best was the BBQ chicken bacon ranch. It's a rectangle slice. The crust wasn't as good as the regular pie slices. It's a thicker crust that tastes different. The topping flavors worked really well together though and made up for the crust. The warm ranch sounds gross but really pulled it all together in a great way. Seating is very limited. It seems like there is a heavy take-out contingency here. They do take credit cards so no worries if you have no cash. Not the best pizza I've ever had but it was a fun place to check out.

Paisley G.

Yelp
best pizza in western mass, friends and I always get their cbr party pizzas for big events

Darren C.

Yelp
They have some of the best pizza slices around definitely recommend going and trying their pizzas all their slices are really good

Robert K.

Yelp
Just as I remember! I went to UMASS just about 30 years ago and frequented Antonio's quite a bit. In town for a college tour with my stepson and took him for a slice. We were not disappointed.

M H.

Yelp
Ugh... the pizza was ok, but we found a staple in one of the slices. Gluten free pizza crust was quite dry and hard to bite/cut. Would not return

Robert E.

Yelp
Ever popular, always open, a bewildering assortment of pies ready to heat up by the slice. Still, I wish we had a real Neapolitan pizza place in Amherst!

Joe M.

Yelp
You usually go to a pizza place and you have plenty of options on full pies but very limited slice options. Not Antonio's. The variety available by the slice is incredible. In our group we had some classic pepperoni, a Hawaiian, a buffalo chicken, and a tortellini. C and B got the pepperoni and I think were happiest. I liked both of mine and G liked hers but the OG seemed to be the biggest hit. It's like red sauce at an Italian restaurant -- order the pepperoni to take the true measure the first time you go. They had adapted to the COVID-19 requirements and were handling it effectively. I could see how this has become legendary among the college campus set and wouldn't hesitate to go again and keep trying out the various options.

Mike S.

Yelp
Does this place have new owners? It's seriously garbage now. Not worth the money. My pizza was very very old. I bit into it and it was terrible. Even the sicilian slice was burnt to a crisp an un eatable. Zero stars if they let me.

Risa K.

Yelp
Antonio's is such a classic spot in Amherst that I feel like a review is unnecessary. This is the go-to pizza for students in Amherst, especially because they are open late. It is a classic Amherst night when you go out to the bars and then get antonio's as a snack. My true rating would be a 3.5 Ive tried many of their flavors but my favorite will always be the chicken bacon ranch. The reason that this place is a 3 instead of a 4 is because of inconsistency. Even if I get the same flavor, it will be a little different. Sometimes, there is sooooo much ranch that it overpowers the rest of the toppings. Sometimes, the crust is too crispy or doughy. Chicken Bacon Ranch: it is a saucy pizza with bbq saice and ranch. All the flavors go really well together! It is definitely on the indulgent side of pizzas so just a slice is good enough for me. I also put a lot of red pepper flakes to balance out the heaviness. Don Giovanni, another popular flavor, is also pretty good. But I think it's bland and lacks a little bit of a punchy flavor. Spinach Ricotta was also bland but super salty. Long time ago, they had a special seafood pizza and that has to be my favorite. It sucked that it is not part of their regular menu. I would say that your best bet is on the chicken bacon ranch!

Trinh H.

Yelp
Antonio's is probably one of the best small town pizza shop I've ever been to. Each pizza is made beautifully and are SO delicious. Seriously good. The staff are super nice. The space is super small. There's barely any sitting space but you're only eating a couple slices of pizza at a time so they don't expect you to be hanging around for hours. Also, the day we went the A/C was broken (it was STEAMING in there) and it was 95° out - still didn't ruin our experience though and they've probably already fixed the thing already. Expect parking in the street. Definitely worth a trip if you're driving around Amherst or if you're a college student!

Quinton M.

Yelp
Pizza by the slice.... Or order a full pie! Best pizza I have had in awhile. Definitely worth stopping in and grabbing a slice.

Jane K.

Yelp
As good as any slice if pizza I have had in NYC Absolutely delicious Huge amount of by-slice choices My choice - spinach and feta cheese; grilled eggplant and cheese Quick eat

Otis M.

Yelp
Three years later, I've got a college student in Amherst who eats here several times a year and wonders why Dad's previous review was so harsh. And I do have a greater appreciation today. This is starving-college-student-pizza meaning you can get a full meal atop a reasonably chewy crust which might be the salad pizza (what it sounds like, everything but the iceberg lettuce and I'm sure they're figuring out a way to incorporate that) or the taco pizza with crumbled tortilla strips. Or you can get a basic favorite like cheese or pepperoni and it will be a solid version of this standard. The ordering system is also a marvel, with props to the educated clientele as much as the staff. There is a huge assortment of pies on display and you tell them what you want as you get to the front of the line that snakes in and then out of the narrow ordering space then they pop that in to heat and simultaneously replace your chosen slice with a new one from a massive vertical hotbox. 3 minutes later, you're good to go. I had a bit of difficulty matching up the pizzas with the descriptions on the blackboard so resorted to "I want the one with artichokes and olives" (that would be the Greek Salad) or "I want the one with peppers and onions". They could simplify this with a numbering system but I'm sure they aren't going to mess with tradition and ordering confidently at Antonio's is a mark of an Amherst pro. But, at the end of the day, the pizza is only average. Better than a chain, but not approaching the level of a place like Frank Pepe's. Also, the specialties are oddly under salted, at least to my taste.

Jane S.

Yelp
Great place but has gone downhill over the years in terms of flavor & quality, used to be amazing, now just ok.

Ajith J.

Yelp
The best part about this place is their variety in pizza. I had a pizza with potatoes on it for the first time ever and it was amazing. We just ordered four different slices and each one was amazing!

Debbie M.

Yelp
The best selection of pizza slices ever. I love their New York Style pizza. Always stop here when I'm in Amherst

mike c.

Yelp
Great specialty slices. I love places like this that have many options all behind the glass ready to heat up and take on the go quickly. Very generous with the toppings! Never tried a full pie to order, but I'm sure its great as well.

Marni M.

Yelp
Very small pizzeria but well known for their chicken bacon ranch pizza, for a good reason. Everything comes out hot when ordered, crust is nice and crunchy, and the toppings are just right. This is the perfect spot after hitting the amherst bars for those mid night munchies, but be warned of the long line that accumulates. Worth the wait nonetheless!

Kate C.

Yelp
Really great pizza, super small pizza joint. Seating for maybe 8 people max, tons of pizza options to choose from, some I've never seen before! (Tortellini pizza?!) what what!? Yummm, they are known for their potato pizza and it really is special. That said you cannot go wrong with any topping choices, they warm your slices up to perfection and then I'd suggest you take them to go.

Diana N.

Yelp
Another classic for locals in Amherst. What I really appreciate about Antonio's is that you can get a slice of speciality pizzas. I happened to sample their special, which was a spinach, mushroom, and garlic pizza. It was awesome and definitely a great size for a slice. You go down and can scope out all of the pizzas and then they'll warm it up for you. The service is kind and warming, definitely makes you feel like a local.

Chris M.

Yelp
All these flavors of pizza can be confusing. But you found my slice of chicken and pepperoni. Thanks. It tastes better hot.

Jessica H.

Yelp
Best pizza I have had in a while!!! A must visit! Umass Amherst most iconic pizza place

Danielle G.

Yelp
Great local spot! So many options, I wish we had more time. We did a ranch bacon chicken one that was on a Sicilian cut and that was by far the best one we had. So good. Also had a mushroom spinach pesto Parmesan one too that was a great. And a black bean, tomato and avocado one which I didn't love but my husband did! Super nice staff that helps you decide what to try with all the crazy options. They are funny, sarcastic and you can tell they love their job. Highly recommend- it does get packed though! And most tables are standing tables.
