"The restaurant temporarily closed for two days to deep-clean and sanitize after staff sickness, noting on Instagram that it would test all employees; it reopened two days later and posted another Instagram photo promoting a ‘sassy cocktail’ and outdoor seating for diners who want to eat al fresco." - Elazar Sontag

The lobster roll was fresh and delicious. Definitely the highlight of the meal. The guacamole and chips were just okay, nothing special. The staff was friendly, and the setting is beautiful, with a lovely view overlooking the marina.

This place was clean and a great spot to relax. The breakfast tasted even better than I expected.

We were celebrating my daughter’s college graduation. Our party of 7 included my 4 year old, we arrived and first great experience was the friendliness of the valet attendants, right away opened the door for my wife and kids as well as for me and guided us in the right direction to the restaurant. Since the restaurant is in the “Balboa Bay Resort” we walk into the lobby to be greeted with a smile by concierge desk which also were kind enough to continue guiding us to the restaurant. Once at the restaurant our host Josh was amazing offered either inside or patio seating, we chose patio which has fire pit and amazing marina yacht views. Our server Patrick took really good care of us from start to finish. Our appetizers clam chowder, crab dip, and our main dishes were Chilean Sea Bass, Pasta, Sandwich, and chicken tenders for my little one. Food was delicious and plentiful. Overall will be coming back and recommending it to my friends and family. Thank you

Recently had brunch with a party of six. Two people ran about 45 min behind, but our server was patient and kept our drinks poured and appetizers coming till they arrived. For appetizers, we had two different chicken wing flavors, and both were so delicious! One was a garlic flavor and the other was a sweet & spicy Asian inspired flavor. I'd definitely come back just for the wings, except that everything else we got was delicious as well! I ordered chicken & waffles and let me tell you how amazing this dish was! It was so beautifully presented with so many different flavors and textures in a larhe wooden board! I was so happy with my choice! Everything on my board was absolutely delicious and so creative! It was a work of culinary art! My husband ordered a burger, which he raved about. Everyone else ordered a variety of dishes, which they were also very pleased with. The servers were extremely professional, courteous and attentive. We can't wait to come back for more enjoyable meals! The atmosphere was peaceful and family-oriented. There were no rowdy drunk brunch crowds at all. Everyone in there were friendky country loving patriots. ❤️ 🇺🇸

Google
Highly suggest the salmon Cesar salad! It was great! The cocktails were okay! The had live music and it was wonderful. The only thing that I didn’t like was an interaction between our server Deanna and food runner Antonio. He accidentally brought us someone else’s food and I overheard her being so rude to him. Everyone makes mistakes, but should always be treated kind no matter the position they hold. I looked for him after to tip him but couldn’t find him.

Google
We made a reservation for two, but still had to wait nearly an hour to be seated. There were no accommodations or apologies made for that. Out service was fine, but relatively slow. There was live music that was quite good, but way too loud for that setting. On the plus side, the food was great. I recommend the lamb chops. Someone came by late in the meal and asked how the food was, but hurried off before I could mention anything about the service. Every individual we interacted with was fine. It just feels like poor management to me. For a luxury resort hotel, they sure have a lot to learn about how to run a restaurant.

Google
The view of the yachts and bay is amazing while eating my free range chicken wings. I also tried their striped bass entree and it was excellent. The Caesar salad was good, a dryer salad with not much dressing but it worked well. The macaroni was great with bits of bacon. Just fyi, it’s at a hotel so Parking is mainly valet. Overall the spot is a great spot to take a date or your parents. Yolo

Google
It's a very cozy and pleasant place with friendly service. The food is also really good. If you decide to have a delicious lunch on a Sunday afternoon, you won't find a better place. I recommend it with a calm heart. You will love it.

Yelp
Came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. Had the octopus and Caesar salad and a martini. My friend got the pork belly sliders. Prices are super fair considering the location. Octopus had bright flavors, a bit salty but truly delicious; the Caesar salad was also superb. Sliders looked DELICIOUS. Deanna the server was extremely kind and made the meal more pleasant. Would return!

Yelp
Location, location, location. Beautiful Sunday morning with warm weather and an outside table with views of the harbor. Life is good. Inside the Balboa Bay Club. Parking validation when dining in the restaurant. Great holiday decorations. Top notch service. Waiters were attentive and kind. I had the eggs benedict with fingerling potatoes. Great sauce with a hint of seasoning that was yummy. Potatoes were also good and cooked perfectly. Avocado toast delish. Would return and try their lunch/dinner menu. Could be 5 stars after trying something other than breakfast.

Yelp
A and O Restaurant Bar is a beautiful spot on the water with a menu that actually respects plant based eaters. The VR Farms Local Summer Salad is crisp and refreshing with seasonal vegetables that taste as fresh as they look. The Strawberry Summer Salad is another standout that balances sweet and savory perfectly. For something more filling, the Organic Namaste Bowl is a must. It comes with wild rice, mushrooms, beets, avocado, rainbow carrots, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and cashew romesco. You can add tofu to keep it fully vegan and it is satisfying without feeling heavy. Everything is presented beautifully and tastes fresh. Even friends who are not vegan found plenty of options they loved, and the cocktails pair perfectly with the food. The harbor view makes every meal feel like a getaway. The service was friendly.

Yelp
4 of us came here for dinner last Friday just in time for the perfect sunset. The marina views were amazing, especially from the outdoor patio where yachts pass by and fire pits flicker as the sun dips below the horizon. They have a couple of TVs indoors. Service was very good overall given that our lovely server seemed like the only one working that evening. When it comes to the food, the flavors were on point - I opted for something on the lighter side Ahi Tuna Poke and it was very good. I would order that again. Hubs ordered the A+O Burger with a side of Asparagus, Namaste Bowl and Steak Salad for the other couple.

Yelp
Fourth of July fireworks could be seen from three different directions as you dine on the patio... The entertainment was really spectacular, Galo played all of our favorite songs.. throughout our entire dinner... ( we literally would come back just to hear him play) Our waiter dylan took great care of us ... the food was very nice however, it being the Fourth of July they were very busy so the service lacked just a little bit.. But you honestly cannot beat those great summer nights in the harbor.. plenty of heaters very dog friendly... Very nice size bar ....

Yelp
This restaurant doubles as a large outdoor venue that backs up into the Balboa Bay. My friend and i sat on the side of the restaurant so we were able to watch the concert happening (and hear it loudly) right next door which ended up actually being a lot of fun and very enjoyable because the music was great. Even though the restaurant was absolutely packed, service was reasonably efficient and the staff seemed to be in good spirits which is always a good sign. Most importantly - every dish we got was phenomenal. The pork belly sliders were probably (surprisingly) my favorites, while my friend raved about the Caesar salad. I would recommend every single appetizer and dessert we got, and the drinks were all great too! Very impressed by my experience here as it exceeded my expectations for a first night of vacation dinner!

Yelp
A+O is a beautiful restaurant within the Balboa Bay Resort. You do not need to be a hotel guest to come to the restaurant. They offer valet and self parking too (the restaurant even validates)! They have a beautiful bar with TVs, a large interior space and a gorgeous outdoor patio that sits right near the boats and yachts in the bay. There are spectacular sunsets in the evenings. Their patio also features some cool fire pit areas which is a great touch! They have a great food, drink and dessert menu. Looking forward to coming back soon!

Yelp
This review is a little late but I must say this place is a hidden treasure in Newport Beach. Love to sit outdoors next to the beautiful yachts and water breezes. Food is always so delicious as are the cocktails. Service is also wonderful and the valet is complementary if validated. Great spot for a special celebration.

Yelp
Great ambiance with good views of the water and parked boats. Beautiful food presentation. Fast and good service! Their food is delicious and they serve good coffee! I wish I tried their pastries. Best to make reservations. This is located inside the Balboa bay club and you can get validation for valet service.

Yelp
The ambience on the deck was fun, lively and the view of the yachts was incredible. The service was excellent (thank you, Phillip, for your help). Our food was delicious and we ate every crumb of every entree. The jidori chicken was my favorite! We will be back!!!

Yelp
I wanted to like this place so badly, I even gave it multiple tries but can't say I'd come back. This is going to be long but it's necessary. My first visit I came for what I thought was brunch on Sunday. Our server Danielle gave us the lunch menu. I asked if there was brunch and she said no, only breakfast and lunch. I said bummer, I could swear there were brunch options and that I'd look online for the menu. All of a sudden she realize that yes there were brunch board available which ended in 2 hours. It was almost as if she didn't want us to order them which was strange. We ordered the chicken and waffles board which was delicious. But ordered and giving us the bill was the only time we saw Danielle. So service was below par. Decided to give it a second shot and came again this past Sunday with some friends, we wanted to do their "Gin & Jazz Afternoon Tea" event. Our server this time was Jose. We had literally just put our butts in the chairs and realized one of the seats was completely in the sun and that girl was going to burn from the sun. We asked if we could perhaps move to another table, and he said there was nothing he could do and that he couldn't move the sun...uhhh. Not what we were asking but okay. Then he follows it up asking what we want to drink, but how would we know if you see we haven't even had a moment to look at the menu?? Again, service was not good. He brought out our food but otherwise was non-existent until it was time to pay the bill. If we ever needed anything we had to ask the server of the table next to us. I felt so bad that he had to do his coworker's job for him. But all of a sudden when it's time for Jose's shift to end and he is relying on us to tip him and close out our checks, he comes by 3 times in less than 10 minutes. How convenient. I also found it strange that we were there for the afternoon tea and jazz, and specifically requested the afternoon tea menu, but we were put at the very end of the restaurant away from where the jazz band was playing...? Would've made more sense to put us by the music since we specifically requested to do the afternoon tea event, compared to others who were just there for regular lunch service. Now for the food. The afternoon tea tower was $70/ person and included a cocktail ( valued at $20). We decided to start with a 2 person tower and a chicken & waffles board. The finger food tower came out and we were shocked. They wanted $100 for barely enough food for even one person!! Please look at the picture I'm attaching and tell me that this afternoon tea tower is worth $100. I understand it's finger food and not meant to be a full meal, but there is no way that could be valued at $50/ per person for a few bites. This event would've been better off as a children's event because the quantity of finger food for 2 adults was unreasonable. We ordered another chicken & waffles board and that was great as usual, and definitely worth the value for $35. Overall, like many restaurants by the water in OC, you're really just paying for the ambiance, location, and "vibe". Definitely not the service and it's good that I saw a job posting for a server is open because they need to retrain their staff. There's no reason why I've been twice in 2 weeks and both times had rude service before I even ordered! The only saving grace of giving the 2 stars is the chicken & waffles board which was fantastic, and the server who was working with the table next to us who we had to ask to service our table because our server was nowhere to be found. His name was Phillip and he was so kind!! A true southern gentleman. Our table kept saying we wished we had him as our server instead. Phillip was considerate, attentive, kind, and so so friendly. He really was the highlight of our brunch and if for some reason I find myself back here, I will specifically ask for him. Otherwise, can't say I'd come back.

Yelp
Great weather, great service provided by Natasha our waitress, great recommendation of cocktails and food entrees. This marina waterfront hotel restaurant was amazing. From the valet to the service. I had the smoked flavored BBQ platter, wifey had the steak frites. All tasted great. I indulge into the expresso martinis while ending the night with a smokey whistle pig old fashioned and live musical entertainment as the sun set. I'm sorry we we're hungry and forgot to snap photos. Next time

Yelp
Such a beautiful location hidden inside a hotel! The service was great and food was decent. I can't complain. A perfect place for brunch and drinks with girlfriends. Parking can be a little hard. Self parking lot fill up fast, there is also street parking

Yelp
The view from A&O restaurant is just wonderful on a beautiful day. The food was also pretty good. We started with the tuna sashimi (which was steller)! I just wish there were a few more pieces of fish on the plate. We then shared the club sandwich. This was also pretty good but needed more aioli or some dijon mustard. The green goddess aioli was oddly bland and made the overall sandwich bland. The fries were on point. Apparently they have live music Wed-Sat nights and on Sun afternoons so we'd like to come back for that. Service was just okay. All the servers that day and the host had a really strange affect and weren't very friendly. Maybe it was an off day?

Yelp
I stop by at this restaurant for a quick bite, what a beautiful restaurant and the ocean view just steps away from your table, the food was delicious and the staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, if you are in Newport stop by as the restaurant is right next to the main entrance with fast and easy access. Will definitely recommend and will be back soon.
google avatar

Yelp
Came in with a large group after the Newport Beach wine festival. The restaurant was able to accommodate us as a walk in. Drinks were delicious! I ordered the grilled octopus and it was a huge disappointment. It was tough and chewy. I haven't really had bad octopus until now. It also didn't look grilled? It had some weird coating on it, again never had a grilled octopus with a seasoned coating on it. I only took a few bites. Would not recommend the octopus to anyone.
google avatar

Jessie A.

Yelp
Not as impressed this time. Hubby says chicken and waffles are consistently good but at $8 per cup of plain coffee, I feel taken. Two breakfasts + 2 coffees for $72 seems a bit much. Coffee should be $5 max each - come on. My bacon was burnt and not great quality.
google avatar

Yelp
A+O is one of my favorite spots in newport. Food is so good and the view by the water is so peaceful. I highly recommend the burger, fish tacos, Caesar salad + crab tacos. The best part is Deanna and Jonathan!! The best service and always amazing to see them! Don't forget they're dog friendly :)

Yelp
Such a beautiful night great ambiance with fireplace live music The cocktails, steaks are delicious The waitress is super nice and friendly Overall great service We really enjoyed the night!

Yelp
We enjoyed a festive Christmas dinner with friends and colleagues at the restaurant. The lobby's exquisite holiday décor created a gorgeous atmosphere. Our hostess and server provided professional and friendly service. The diverse menu offered delicious dishes, all of which were exceptionally tasty. I highly recommend making reservations, especially during the holiday season, as the restaurant was quite busy. While I cannot comment on weekday or weekend traffic outside of the holidays, the service was prompt, friendly, and well-organized. This venue is ideal for holiday dinners and events such as the boat parade.

Nhue G.

Yelp
This restaurant is near the water and has a nice atmosphere, so it's a good place for dates and get-togethers. Service was a bit hit and miss when we were here. Our server barely checked in on us or refilled our water. It was quite unexpected for a nice restaurant like this. * Shrimp fettuccini 4/5 - This was a good shrimp pasta dish with a decent portion. There was a good amount of shrimps which I liked. The flavor was good with a bit of a spicy kick to it.

Yelp
Dinner with a view. Party of 4 seated outside, couldn't feel the cold thanks to the heaters. Delicious food. Multiple food items ordered, everyone satisfied with their plate: Lobster Roll Prime NY Strip Chilean Sea Bass Fish Tacos Oreo Cheesecake Theres valet parking. Would recommend this restaurant to others.

Yelp
First time here!! We ordered a couple of steak, tuna tartare, osso buco, and fries. The tuna tartare was yummy and fresh, as well as the chips that went with it. We also ordered the steak which was good and cooked per our preference. The osso buco was good as well, but I find it a little dry. I enjoyed the seasoned fries! Service was good. There was a live music when we went, which was a Saturday night. So the ambiance was cozy and lively. We were treated for this dinner so it was more special. We really enjoyed it and will surely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Finally a good restaurant with a great view with available inside or outside seating doesn't really matter the view of the docked yachts on the balboa harbor are so serene and calming. You can also book a private fire pit area for your party which will be good on colder evenings and they even provide blankets is needed, how cool is that. I love the food and the service was exceptionally good our waitress was very attentive and sweet. The full bar with a very knowledgeable bartender was the Cheri on top. Will definitely be back on our next stay at Balboa Bay Resort, they also have on site free valet parking just a good tip for the great service they provide is all you need.

Yelp
Enjoyed a post dinner cocktail and dessert with my fiancé to celebrate the birthday. We always enjoy coming in and being served by our favorite wait staff, Liz, Deanna and Sonya. They're always so friendly and provide great service. I enjoyed one of the best espresso martinis in OC as well as the peach cobbler and chocolate layered cake. The peach had almost too much spices in it and was a little intense but the crumble on top was delightful. Would have been better enjoyed in the fall. The chocolate cake was divine and light and decadent at the same time. We even had the surprise pleasure of coming in on the Taylor swift summer concert series night. A great Friday night out.
google avatar

Yelp
We had a great Christmas evening experience at the A&O Bar. Amber, our bartender and other staff took very good care of us. A&O is in the Balboa Bay Resort which has beautiful views of the Bay from its floor to ceiling windows. We started with the fresh baked focaccia which was accompanied by olive tapenade, house made ricotta, honey, lemon oil, & salt. Next we moved on to the delicious perfectly prepared A&O burger and a side of sauteed broccolini. Ever dish was perfectly prepared. A great restaurant to dine at in the Newport Beach/Balboa area.
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
Hadn't realized when I first searched for restaurants in this vicinity that this one is actually in The Balboa Bay Resort, and it's been a very long time since I was there (mostly for large banquet events). We just wanted a relaxing casual lunch after visiting the current exhibition at the Coastline Art Gallery in Newport Beach. We sat outdoors and watched a few folks working on their multimillion dollar yachts in the marina. The food really exceeded our expectations (we shared both dishes). The broiled oysters (essentially oysters Rockefeller) were so tasty, among the best I've ever had (4 in the order). The beer battered Icelandic cod tacos (3 to the order) were nicely large fried pieces of luscious fish (one per taco spilling out each end) seated in soft corn tortillas that had been lightly crisped up to hold their shape. We washed it all down with an excellent on tap lager. Service was friendly. Valet parking is validated for diners.

Chuck M.

Yelp
Food is really good vibrant atmosphere nice wine choices can get crowded be careful of parking cars go very fast on coast highway

Yelp
this place is located in the balboa bay resort, and the view from the patio was absolutely stunning. we ordered the avocado toast, which had such a unique flavor--i usually avoid ordering something i can make at home, but omg, it was delicious! i'm also a huge fan of chilaquiles, and this dish did not disappoint. the combination of amazing food and a breathtaking view made for an unforgettable dining experience.

Yelp
A perfect Sunday brunch with girlfriends was the perfect way to end a weekend after my Niners victory Saturday evening. Sit back and relax. Basking in the sun and enjoying the beautiful view of the water. What can I say...perfection! I rolled the dice and passed on tacos and burgers for a salad once in my life and I SCORED! I had the sweet potato, lentil and beets salad with grilled jumbo shrimps. Sounds like a mouthful right...yes indeed. It was delicious and beautifully plated. Our server was very polite and provided amazing service to a table of demanding women with a smile. Check this gem out yourself. There's delicious food, beautiful views, great service and they have football lol! Indoor dinning has a full bar and multiple flat screens to keep you up to date with sports while you relax.

Yelp
Came here for Sunday brunch since their Buffett was closed for a private event. This restaurant is in a hotel by the water and it was pretty crowded inside since it was raining. Something I noticed was how pricey the food was. Hot crab dip (5/5): The dip came out piping hot as it was super melty. It came with tortilla chips and the dip has plentiful of crab in it. Tuna Cevice (5/5): This was basically a poke nacho. The tuna chunks were big and flavorful with sweet shoyu. It was also mixed with avocado and onion. A+O Burger (4/5): Very typical burger. Not as flavorful as it should've and too many pickles, but that was on me. I should've said no pickles. Definitely a great place to go for a lunch at the beach.

Yelp
I went here last night (last night of restaurant week) to try out the special menu! It was perfect. The 3-course meal I chose came with a Cesar salad, the 4oz filet with jumbo shrimp and a few potatoes and carrots. It also came with a vegan chocolate cake and a glass of champagne all for $60! Everything tasted perfect. The restaurant is located inside of Balboa Bay Resort and you can eat outside right on the water looking out at the boats. They have outside fire pits and warmers for colder nights. Will be back.

Yelp
Food was delicious. The clam chowder and Lobster was fantastic!! The price was reasonable, the service and ambiance was excellent!

Yelp
We were here with a group for a birthday, they were very accomodating with our party size. Food and drinks were delicious. Service was a little slow but it was a busy weekend. Great experience overall

Yelp
Service & food was great! Porter was the best! He went above and beyond and we had such a fun evening! Our waitress was really nice and friendly too. Overall a great experience.

Yelp
Everything was perfect! We were 4 and checked in with Megan. She was professional and very personable. We had cocktails with Ruben at the bar while waiting 10 minutes for our table. True to the wait time, we were seated by Megan who was fun & funny! Our server was outstanding. Sitting on the patio was so enjoyable, I want to come back! Just a beautify setting. As for the food- 5 stars as well. We shared the crab dip, and focaccia. I would have liked a few more options for small bites, but what we had was tasty. The seared scallops were cooked perfectly, and I liked the puree. fish tacos were on point, battered but not greasy, the seafood fettuccini was very good as well. I didn't try the lobster roll, but my fiend loved it. All of the cocktails were fresh & unique- we really enjoyed them. kudos to the staff!

Yelp
Fantastic location for a networking reception. Had fish tacos and wings that were pretty good. But the star attraction here is the patio overlooking the peninsula.
google avatar

Yelp
We live locally and visited A+O to celebrate our anniversary. What can I say: We had a 5 star experience! From the moment we walked through the door, we were well taken care of, and the entire service team was extremely accommodating and attentive. Live music (every Friday and Saturday night) was a bonus. The two girls singing were keeping the crowd engaged. From Joseph at the bar with drinks and bar snacks, to Alberto and Jesus taking care of us while we sat adjacent to the water's edge while dining, we were kept warm with a heater. We ordered the nigiri and fettuccini dish, and both were amazing! Highly recommended! Bonus was Manager Chris coming by our table twice throughout the evening to ensure we were completely satisfied. We will be back and bring friends and family! PS. The restaurant is located inside the beautiful Balboa Bay Club Hotel.

Yelp
Forgot to take pictures of the food but this place was great! My friend and I had a dog with us and we had reservations at another restaurant close by initially. The other place said that they would allow us to bring the dog to their patio via phone and they ended up changing their mind... so we needed dinner and gave A+O a call. They took us and sat us immediately on their beautiful patio that had great heaters. Lucious was so lovely and a fabulous server. He really made our night. The food was great and the valet is free for restaurant goers!!!

Anonymous U.

Yelp
Missing one star because the servers seem mopey, and the bar needs cold beer and cold drinks. Otherwise, the view is excellent, the fish tacos are amazing.

Yelp
Another great Newport restaurant with a good view. Not all restaurants that boast views have good food/service. This one has them all. Our waitress was nice and timely. The food was tasty!! I highly recommend getting the lobster mac and cheese with your meal. I know it's on the appetizers, but we just asked to get it served with our entrées. I got a caesar salad with chicken. The chicken was a little bit on the drier side. That's honestly my only complaint. Next time, I might order the salad with shrimp instead. My BF got the fish of the day. I forgot what it was but it was great. It came with a delicious risotto and some wontons with crab on the side. It also had asaparagus which was citrus-y? Kinda a random flavor so he wasn't a fan of that part. Overall, the service and ambiance were great. Food was mostly great. We would definitely be back!

Tala S.

Yelp
I went to this restaurant with two friends. Two of us ordered the steak salad, and we both got sick almost immediately afterward with the exact same symptoms. My symptoms lasted until the next morning. I called the restaurant to speak with a manager and left a message simply to raise a concern, hoping they'd make sure no one else gets served the same dish. No one ever returned my call, which shows a serious lack of care or accountability. Beyond that, the service was very slow, and the food wasn't even worth the wait. The steak was overly salty and just not good. I will never go back. Very disappointed.

Yelp
Dined here for Sunday brunch and had a great time. The weather was nice so we opted for the outdoor table seating and had an amazing view of the water and boats. There is Leo open outdoor seating with fire pits. The inside was very spacious with bar seating. Our waitress was fun and friendly. The crab cakes tasted flavorful and was paired with a delicious sauce. I decided to try the A+O burger with their black bean patty and it was delicious! The caramelized onions and 1000 island dressing on it rattans amazing. What stood out to me was the brioche bun that was cooked to perfection and tested wonderful. My mom ordered the Caesar salad with salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly as well and tasted amazing- each bite full of the right blend of spices. The views here while dining unbeatable. There is complimentary valet parking for the restaurant at the resort. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, the food, service, and the views. I am looking forward to returning for Sunday brunch!

Yelp
I made reservations for thanksgiving dinner for 4 (me and my 3 adult kids). I mentioned It was also special as It was the only time I would have my kids together since one Is in the military and the other two live far. I was asked what would I want for the soecial occasion and I said "only a dessert to share". 1. The two hostesses laughed and made jokes around me and my kids. I said if they could please meet my request. They laughed and one seating down said It wasn't happening. 2. I asked for water multiple times and neither one of us got It nor the waiter checked on us. However, the table next to us received check ups often. 3. I asked for the tables open to the fire pits that were not reserved nor occupied and we were placed at the exit of the terrace. I don't have the money to spend in a place like this. I surely make sure I treat my sons to experience something different we usually don't get to do often. We left very disappointed and mainly me. For such a special celebration we received the first and most horrible treatment anyone could have. Hope the management does get to train their staff better

Yelp
The food is awesome with great service and view of the boats in the bay. Fire pits outside make a romantic touch.

Yelp
Wonderful Sunday afternoon! Sat outside and Kenny (?) waited on us. He was very friendly and gave us good food/drink suggestions. I had a salad and my husband had the lobster roll. Both were very good. We ended up staying longer because a man started singing/playing guitar... he was fabulous!!!

Yelp
What a wonderful day to come down to #newport to have a little dinner @aorestaurantandbar . Nice view and great lighting to chill and relax. Tried the handcraft fettuccine with shrimp and clams. Also had some sushi which were both amazing. The watermark drink was super delicious and I don't think I have had a mai tai like the one from here. Awesome place to bring your date and just relax.

Yelp
This restaurant location is great because it has a nice beautiful view being located at the balboa bay resort. The food is pretty average and decent for what you pay for but the ambiance and view is definitely the highlight of this restaurant. They also have live music too which is nice! For dinner we ordered the burrata, salt and pepper shrimp, and the halibut. The fish was good but everything else just okay. I also got a life is peachy mixed drink and it just tasted very watered down. The service was also very slow especially for a Wednesday. For parking they validate for valet.

Yelp
This restaurant was the first destination for my friend's bachelorette party. We were the first to arrive and sat near the boats/harbor until the rest of the group arrived. Our table was situated in a more private area instead. My friend ordered the muy caliente margarita and I got a strawberry basil mocktail. At first, our server didn't let me order a mocktail until I saw the future bride order one, so one of my friends went with me to the bar so that I could get one for myself. With a different friend, I shared the crab Mac n cheese, tuna ceviche, and the salt and pepper shrimp. Although a bit pricey, the food was really good and fresh. The Mac n cheese was very creamy and had real crab, while the shrimp plump and flavorful. The poke could've been better though. Others in our group opted for the beer battered fish tacos, the burger, and salmon. Everything looked really good! For dessert, I had some of the berries and cream, which came with Greek yogurt panna cotta, citrus crumble berries, dried mandarin, and strawberry ice cream. It was really pretty and such a light and refreshing dessert. A+O is a really nice restaurant with a great view of the harbor. The food was good and ambiance was amazing. I heard the club sandwich was worth trying, so maybe I'll get that next time!
