AO St. Marks (moved to Midtown)

Amazing food that is tasty, healthy, and made with high quality ingredients!! Everything here is refined sugar free which is great and rare and nearly impossible for many places with Asian sauce and most places that sell açai. AO bowl makes their own açai without any refined sugar and oat milk in house! I'm super impressed with that. It's so great to eat yummy food while knowing it's made with superior ingredients. The owner explained they use sesame oil which is a lot healthier than most cooking oil. I loved the buckwheat umami and the edamame guac. My friend enjoyed his microgreen salad and broccoli too. I can't wait to be back to try more bowl options and smoothies!! Thank you AO bowl for having a refined sugar free menu for people who have health constraints.

I didn't do much research on this establishment beforehand, and I somehow was under the impression that they are Japanese eatery. I then discovered they serve "Japanese-inspired" ingredients. It is hard not to et inspired by delicious and healthy Japanese food... I heard that a new Japanese bowl spot was opening up in East Village, so I was excited to go try them out. I didn’t do much research on this establishment beforehand, and I somehow was under the impression that they are a “Japanese eatery” serving Japanese food. I then discovered they serve bowls with “Japanese-inspired” ingredients. It is hard not to be inspired by delicious and healthy Japanese food… And with many of us who added some “Pandemic Weight,” we are looking for more healthy food options. We looked at their bowl menus, and they serve healthy, fast casual food, again inspired by Japanese flavor. They are all organic, including the oil they use! How cool! We each got bowls with different ingredients, and added some extra items such as Poached Onsen Egg and Herb Crusted Salmon for additional price. And I say, they were totally worth it! Salmon was flaky and moist, with really nice flavor. Most of the ingredients had somewhat natural sweetness to it. Having the small pickles on top was really nice, its acidity balanced out the sweetness of the items. Each ingredients were made with care, high quality, and had really good flavor. They are certainly helping people to discover that the "healthy" food can also be "tasty" food. We certainly enjoyed everything we tried. Again, the price point might by higher than other “fast food” spots, but you are getting something healthy, and high quality. If you are looking for tasty healthy food, try the AO Bowl!

That was seriously one of the best meals I have had in so long. It tasted like all the things I wish I could make for myself but don’t have the time or ability to. It was healthy but didn’t lack any of the flavor that typically healthier options in the city do. The pineappled sweet potato’s and miso glazed vegetables were out of this world, and the Onsen egg was so delicious poured on top of the dish. 10/10 will be back ASAP! The owner was so kind and passionate as well! This is truly a unique and delicious spot

Once you walk in you get hit with an amazing smell of food . it just makes your mouth water. Nay welcomed me within 20 seconds with a warm welcome. Started to feel like home . this is a must go to. Thanks a million

This place is dope! I'm trying to eat more healthy and this place was a great help. So many new options I've never had before. Tons of gluten free options, I think it's actually all gluten free? And it's super tasty and not crazy expensive. I paid $14 for my bowl. Would recommend, I hope they succeed!

Good tasting, healthy food with Japanese flavors! Nice change up from other healthy food options. Staff was awesome - friendly and super helpful (let me sample a few of the entrees since it was my first time)! Herb crusted salmon, poached egg, miso broccoli were all very tasty. Buckwheat, cauliflower, and yams weren’t bad but will probably try other entrees next time.

I wish I could say this tasted good. It’s great to have such a healthy & fast restaurant option in the neighborhood, but the two different bowl options we tried were not enjoyable. The pricing was also pretty wild. Nice, friendly service, and definitely very healthy, but put some more love into those flavors!!
