"This distinctive udon is prepared using the techniques of handmade soba, which the chef mastered before switching to udon. Unpolished wheat is ground on a millstone. The experience of the soba craftsman lives in the principle of ‘freshly ground, freshly rolled, freshly boiled’. We recommend the Arabiki Zaru Udon (coarse-ground udon served on a wicker basket). Salt and wasabi accompany the dish, and the meal ends with udon water (not soba water, as is the practice elsewhere). Alcoholic drinks and snacks are selected to befit an udon meal. The chef’s discovery of wheat changed his life; the paths of both soba and udon are long and narrow." - Michelin Inspector

I don't understand why it has such a low rating on Google Maps. Perhaps it's because people are imagining the thick, pure white udon noodles that are mass-produced, but the udon here is made fresh in-house and is on a whole different level, in a good way. Not only the noodles, but the a la carte dishes are also carefully prepared and the ingredients are excellent. The restaurant is not large, but it is very sophisticated, clean, and comfortable. The service is also prompt and pleasant. If I were to be greedy about the service, I was a little disappointed that there were no free tea refills.

Great restaurant for soba and tempura. They have English menu. Minimum for credit card is ¥5,000.

A very stylish, delicious udon restaurant with a cool vibe that blends traditional and modern styles. The design of the restaurant is very nice, setting a trendy atmosphere with appropriate lighting and decor, but still retaining a traditional Japanese feel with rustic tableware and displaying where they make the noodles by hand. The food was very delicious, with very balanced flavors. The blended-grain udon had a nice nutty flavor, and I especially liked the tamagoyaki they had rolled up in the sushi with some unagi. The tempura was also very carefully prepared to crispy perfection. The only thing that I found lacking was that, for a 1500 yen lunch set, I was still hungry when I left. The quantity is probably perfect for smaller eaters, but I felt an imbalance in the price and quantity of food.

Nice place for a quick bite. The tempura was the star of the show, as well as their other dishes section (the chicken was divine). The duck udon was average, nothing to write home about. Really affordable prices and good quality for that price.

The timing in their official website stated the restaurant's last order to be at 10PM (from Mon to Fri). It was when we approached Aozora Blue at 9:10PM that a waitress run up to the door entrance, without even greeting us, saying that they were already closed. Perhaps they want to follow their own on-spot rules, but the approach was not really elegant. We took a taxi from the other part of the city only to try their cuisine and this is the way we have been gently treated. Refrain to go there! We ended up at a wonderful soba place 5 mins away and we had the best experience ever instead! ;)

We took the Duck hotpot course and were disappointed. The course was okay, but there was not enough support from the staff. very pricy, cost 6680 yen per person - we expected to have a special experience. Udon noodles were horrible: - hot noodles were too slippery and are almost uneatble with chopsticks - cold noodles were disgraceful

Udon was amazing! Service was also spot on and although they were closing, they did not make us hurry. Lastly, atmosphere was quite chill and cozy. Would recommend :)

The best udon I've ever had. The whole wheat udon noodle has unique and amazing texture. Shrimp tempura is surprisingly extraordinary. Service is also remarkable. The waiters are very helpful in explaining how to eat the udon properly. Definitely a 10/10. Absoulutely will try this restaurant again if I visit Osaka next time.
