"For more than 30 years, this restaurant run by the Proto brothers has been a popular choice for visitors to the beautiful Atrani valley. Simple cuisine served in a simple and informal setting (dishes are nearly always announced at your table rather than listed on a menu), with a focus on Mediterranean and Campanian dishes." - Michelin Inspector

The clam and spaghetti was straight up the best pasta we have had in a month in Italy. You look at the view and think, surely the food can’t match! And it does!! Couldn’t have asked for a better afternoon. The Aperol’s were also great!

After a week in Italy I finally found a proper risotto. Absolutely perfect, nothing to improve on. It ran perfectly flat across the bowl. Not these mounds of scooped undercooked arborio I've been getting. Our server, Massimo, was excellent. It's obvious he treats this as a profession. Someone who has been doing this all his life and has worked at mastering his craft. I know that sounds korny, but being in hospitality I know how hard it to come by people like him. I actually asked my wife if we could come back every night. We tried 5 of the 8 the desserts, go with the chocolate souffle.

We had the best seafood at A’Paranza. Each dish from the Stella Marina menu was outstanding. The paccheri pasta was incredible. The lemon desert was great as well. Overall the entire tasting menu took more than 2 hours. Well worth it for us, but plan for this restaurant to take more time than expected if you order multiple courses.

Excellent and professional service. The rhythm and attention were flawless. The food was tasty, local and very fresh. Good wine list. Thank you

Awesome local seafood place in Atrani. Extensive seafood menu, host was fantastic providing suggestions and house wine was on point.

Our favourite dinner while visiting Atrani. We liked this restaurant so much that we actually visited twice during our 5 day stay. The food is amazing and the staff is kind. We had a toddler with us and they were very accommodating. Highly recommend this place!

Google
Quick: delicious seafood restaurant well deserving of their Michelin guide recommendation. Shrimp risotto was amazing! Made a reservation around 1pm for the same day at 7:30pm on a weekend. It wasn’t too busy. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice. Good spacing between the tables, quiet environment, and lights on table. The food was delicious, some hit or miss. The shrimp cream risotto was really amazing. Probably a top 3 dish (if not #1) I’ve had in Italy. It has a delicious cream flavor with chunks of shrimp. The rice was cooked perfectly. It was truly a fantastic dish. The lamb chops (I got without pistachios) was also great. The red wine reduction tasted amazing with great sweet flavors. Although, it was a bit almost too sweet for me. The lamb was cooked nicely but it was cooked to well done and I found the meat to be a bit on the harder side to chew. If they cooked this to a mid-rare, it would’ve been a perfect dish. The pesto dish was not bad but also wasn’t amazing to me. It was an interesting lemony flavor that was unique but I thought it was only okay and my fiancée didn’t like it at all. It also said it would come with almonds and pine nuts but the dish did not have those included. Both desserts were amazing and I thought the lemon sponge cake was out of this world. Grilled veggies (eggplant and zucchini) was good but nothing special. Service was pretty good. There were times where I tired to flag someone down but they were too busy. There is only one waiter for the entire dining room and one person who brings things out. So at times, it certainly got busy. We also got brought out the wrong dish that was supposed to go to another table. We didn’t realize and ate some of it. They brought it back to the kitchen and brought out a new one quite quickly for the table it was supposed to go to. So I just hope they had a backup one and it wasn’t the one we ate from. So was it worth it? Yes but I would not get the pesto dish if we went again. It might be a hit for you, but we didn’t like it. I would get the risotto again as it was perfect.

This hidden restaurant is a perfect place to try local foods. We ordered shell fish sautée which was super tasty and homemade pasta with seafood was not something to skip. Service could be long, so don’t take this place if you are super hungry unless you arrive at the first or second table.

Yelp
I went back and forth on 3 or 4 star. I fear my palette just wasn't refined enough for this Michelin star spot. The food was beautifully presented, but nothing I would rush back for. I think it is definitely worth a try if you're in the area, but maybe study the menu a bit first if you are a fancy food novice like me. The space and ambiance is really unique and beautiful, feels like you're underground or water. I don't recall the name of what we ordered, but it was one of the 4 course options. A lot of food!! Make sure to wander around the Atrani/Amalfi alleyways and back staircases. We had an adventure through the most charming stairways while walking from our Airbnb at the base of Ravello to this location.

Yelp
Amazing food and ambiance! Our waiter Gadson was great!! Definitely try! One of the highlights of our trip;)

Yelp
Absolutely fabulous. The only reason anyone doesn't give 5 stars is because of portions. It's Europe not Kansas. Portions are no smaller than anywhere else in Europe. The 10 fish sampler was one of the greatest dishes I have ever ordered ever. Every single fish was cooked appropriately and perfectly which is hard to pull off and keep fresh. They accomplish this feat with finesse.

Yelp
I think i ate here 2 times a week for 3 weeks. One of my favorite authentic conscious italian foods. Service is impeccable ~ the tuna tartare is sheer delight. The tuna candlestick tonno pasta is delightful. Ravioli are perfect tender morsels. House wine which is local Ravello is better than an expensive bottle in the states.if you are lucky you will eat there twice. I was blessed to eat there 6 times. Cant wait till i come back. Grazie Mille

Yelp
Great ambiance, good service, large menu but small portions. Up into atrani you'll find this restaurant on the right. It's menu has a good selection of homemade pasta dishes. Most involve fish or seafood (shrimp, mussels, etc) and the menu has very thorough english for those that don't know Italian. The portions are small and our local fish with veggies dish was a bit on the dry side but the flavors were good. Our pasta and mixed salad were also good.

Yelp
A Paranza has a wide variety of seafood and pasta. I went with my family of four, and we felt that the place was a little stuffy for our casual temperaments. The place has white table cloths and very kind staff. We ordered the stuffed zucchini flowers because we had seen a great review. They were stuffed with swordfish and other ingredients; however, the swordfish really monopolized the flavor of anything else. I ordered the risotto scampi style and absolutely loved my meal. My sister ordered the pasta with clams and loved her meal as well. My mom ordered the grilled fish special, while my dad ordered another type of fish. Their meals were almost comically small, but they said they were delicious. Unfortunately, the small size of their fish entrees left them hungry. With that said, I highly recommend the primi dishes since they are a good portion!

Yelp
This is a quaint restaurant in Atrani, with a very Italian menu. The night we went, there was a tour group there, but it looked like a high end tour group as they were having some sort of tasting menu! We didn't go for the tasting menu (50 euros) but ordered a la carte. Their seafood selection appetiser was pretty interesting, but portion was a bit small for 18 euros. My fish ravioli was something quite interesting - a mixture of white fish and ricotta cheese inside. At 12 euros it was good value for money. My wife had the special "caramotte" local prawns (20 euros). It was like 8 big king prawns. Very fresh and well prepared! Her side dish of grilled zucchini (4 euros) was very mediocre, just a few slices of zucchini, albeit very delicious. We also had the special regional lemon cake for dessert, which was good. Overall, having eaten in many Amalfi Coast restaurants on our trip, this was probably not my top 3 as although the food was good, it was slightly on the pricey side (forgot to add - also a 2 euro cover charge) with slightly small portions.

Yelp
Whoa. So disappointed! High price, not very good food. Almost nothing to eat on the lamb shop, the rest was more than marginal. The wine list shows many wine by the glass but only one house wine is available. High price compare to the other restaurants in town. Only English speaking people in the restaurant clientele.

Yelp
Sad to see bad experiences here. Our experience was great. Best linguine (with lemon sauce) I've ever had. Seafood pasta was incredible. The dessert was also really good and unique (Black cherry moreno), just a delicate custard baked in a thin cake with powdered sugar and cherries. We loved this place and the service was excellent.

Yelp
Ate here while on honeymoon with my wife. We made a reservation ahead of time for a table of 2. When we showed up, the server knew who I was from our earlier phone conversation. He me that the wait would be 5 minutes. We were seated 50 minutes later. After we finally got seated, we had to wait even longer to order. The server took orders from the Italian guests first, including larger tables, even though they had arrived well after us. He didn't even bring us menus. After 20 minutes of being ignored, I had to get his attention and tell him we were ready to order. He asked me what we wanted, even though he hadn't given us menus. Thankfully we took the 50 minute wait (despite or reservation) to decide on what we wanted. I recited our order in 15 seconds. We ordered the bruschetta, ham, risotto, ravioli, and squid. The food itself was decent. The bruschetta was amazing, a perfect balance of oil and fresh diced ripe tomatoes. The ham and melon was delicious as well. The prawn and crab risotto was well prepared and the risotto was cooked perfectly. There wasn't much actual prawn or crab meat in the risotto itself, but this definitely didn't take away from the dish. The crab and fish ravioli wasn't very good - it was bland and underwhelming. Between the first course and our second course (the squid stuffed with potatoes and provola), there was about a 35 minute wait. Larger tables than ours were being served their 3rd, 4th and dessert courses (despite being seated after us) while we waited for our 2nd. I asked for the bill, as we were at the 3 hour mark from when we arrived at the restaurant. The server reminded me that we had the squid dish on the way - I told him I know. I just wanted the bill to get out of there. He asked me to wait another 5 minutes for the squid. I said fine - but I still wanted my bill so I could pay for the dinner. A few minutes later, he brought the squid. 20 minutes later and after 2 reminders, he brought the bill. Note: this wasn't because he was busy - he had time to stop and flirt with the table of 4 women, knowing full well that we were waiting to pay and leave. In the end, our server didn't even bring us the bill - he got another server to while he hid in the kitchen! I had my cash ready to go and needed to get change. This was another 15 minute ordeal. I stood outside the kitchen waiting for the server to come back out. He was fully aware I was there, as I could him talking to the chef, even after I signalled that I was ready to pay. Finally, I had enough and asked other patrons if they had change. The server must have heard me, because he came rushing out of the kitchen instantly to settle my bill. Overall: the food was decent, but the service was abysmal. I would not recommend this restaurant, especially to tourists. We were treated as if we weren't welcome. Bonus: One thing my wife noticed that I found amusing was that our server was picking and eating food off of the plates he was serving to guests before he served them. I thought this was usually something that was done by the chefs in the kitchen, but maybe he was the QC guy? Or just really hungry.

Yelp
I live about half the year in Italy, every year. So when I review a restaurant in Italy, think of it as a local's review, not that of a tourist. In other words, my standards for restaurants in Italy are VERY high, as I hold them to compre to hundreds of others in the country, not just a few I "happen" to eat at. This is a wonderful place, great food, fantastic service. Let's face it, the Amalfi coast is a place with a tremendous amount of tourism, and countless restaurants with substandard food and lack of customer-driven service that comes with the territory of being one of the most visited places in the world. So to find a place that shines is something that should never be ignored. To begin with, the location is wonderful. If you find yourself in Amalfi, you may be frustrated by the whirling tourists and deafening noise all around you. Atrani is just a short walk away, yet a world apart. Most of the tourists don't make it here, so it is going to be quiet and quaint by comparison. Score! A Paranza is down the main road a few hundred feet, tucked away in a very unassuming location. Small, quiet, and not screaming of "Tourist Land". Score again! The staff here are wonderful!!! Extremely attentive and very friendly. Score again! The food. They say that this is "the place" for seafood. Sadly, I don't eat seafood, but I can speak for two others that told me this was the absolute best meal they had during their one-week stay on the Amalfi coast. As for me, I had a simple marinara pasta, some Bruschetta and a "Babba". The pasta was fantastic! The sauce was to die for with the sweetest, ripest tomatoes I have ever had. The Bruschetta was perfect, and the Babba... well, I will most certainly dream of it tonight!! Once again, Score!

Yelp
Best seafood pizza I ever had. Had to wait 40 minutes for two take out pizzas but well worth it. Local teens purchased 10 pizzas ahead of me and the restaurant was full at 10:00 PM. The only reason it does not get 5 stars is because I have to try the other dishes! I had the Arcate and my wife the Diavolo 10 euros for two take out pizzas!

Yelp
My husband and I went to A Paranza in Atrani because it was recommended by the hotel and within walking distance. It was wonderful! The service was fantastic, the food amazing, and they even understood my celiac and offered me great options and gluten free bread! We had the Fantasia Antipasti which was a mix of different local fish, some very different then we usually eat, but we are adventurous eaters and it was worth it! We shared risotto with shrimp and shrimp in brandy sauce, both were delicious and perfectly cooked. The Falinghina the server recommended went great with our food, and we left fat and happy! We will stop in again before we leave.

Yelp
This is not a review of the food - but I am beyond pissed off with these jerks - I went there at 6:49 to ask what time thy open 1 the owner said 7 - I was back at 7:10 - and he asked me if I have a reservation . I say no - the restaurant is empty - not a single table is occupied . He says wait for 10 minutes . I wait for half an hour - no excuses, no explanations - nothing . I try to get their attention and they ignore me - I have a hungry kid with me - the old me would have abused the hell out of them - but I just left , and walked into the first restaurant I saw with no yelp reviews or trip advisor reviews , I mean if you don't have a spot it's ok - just tell me but don't make me wait half an hour for nothing with a hungry 4 yr old was welcomed with opened arms ... The menu is not close to as interesting as those guys -but I won't eat in a restaurant where the owner or the chef is a jerk or is inconsiderate - a few places like that in LA as well

Yelp
Best meal I had in Italy. Food was fresh and excellent. We had the prix fixe menu at 45E or so per person which included a sampler of 8 items of appetizer seafood, a seafood pasta (primi), a seafood entree (secundi), and desert, but there are many less expensive options on the menu. Service was pretty decent, somewhat slow but all of Italy is like that. The seafood is fresh and the pasta is great. House wine was great and cost 15E per bottle.
