"Lesley (Les) Hottiaux and Ismo (Mo) Koski’s intimate Apéro is the sort of place you can (and should) happily let the hours slip by, whether you’re enjoying an aperitif with friends after work or a cozy date night. Between Koski’s adept selection of wines by the glass and Hottiaux’s famously delicious terrines and sausages, the K’road French bistro continues to be a favorite after seven years. — HE" - Hillary Eaton, Leisha Jones

Loved the signature sausage. Snapper was very nice as well. Pasta’s portion was a bit small to share.

Apéro is now our must do place every time we’re in Auckland. Every dish I have tried there has been outstanding. For me, this is about as perfect as restaurants get. The menu is produce driven and the food expertly cooked. The wine list thoughtful with a great mix of local Kiwi gems and interesting international wines. And the staff are warm and hospitable and ready to share their expert knowledge. If I lived in Auckland I’d be there every week!

Delicious and creative modern New Zealand cuisine in a cosy atmosphere with friendly service. Top-notch fine dining at reasonable prices. It was my first time eating Bluenose and it was sublime.

Apéro is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out is so special, and it’s no surprise that Leslie and Mo have built such a loyal following over the years. As someone who works in the industry and owns a food business, I have so much admiration for what they do. Running a business, balancing life with a young child, and still delivering excellence every service is no small feat—and they make it look effortless. Their passion shines through every plate, and it’s truly inspiring. Every visit to Apéro has been outstanding, and our most recent date night was no exception. The food is always seasonal, fresh, and incredibly thoughtful—perfectly blending French technique with New Zealand’s best ingredients. And the wine? Absolutely spot on. No notes. I also have huge respect for their decision to operate on hours that work for their family. In this industry, that’s a bold move, but it speaks to their confidence and skill. People are more than willing to plan around their schedule because what they offer is that good. Walk in, take a seat, and trust that you’re in for something special. Apéro is a must-visit in Auckland. Love it, love it, love it.

Always made to feel special by Mo - the best host in the business. The food is without exception delicious, innovative and seasonal - and if you wish matched with excellent wine. An intimate and very special place to dine.

Wonderful, resection of the waiter when we arrived at Apero. He explained the menu to us wonderfully and looked after us with the desire to have a good time. Brilliant. The decoration is somewhat empathetic due to the distribution of lighting. The gastronomy highlights only the grilled figs.

Another wonderful dinner, we dine here for most of our family celebrations. Mo and Les are the best. Our meter of sausage was demolished by our two teenage boys along with most of the menu. Perfect wine pairings, little tip don't bother looking at the wine list, Mo knows best and will pick out something delish. Thank- you guys for the special side order of mushrooms!
