You would never believe that a restaurant of this caliber of quality and service would be located in the small Hill Country town of Spicewood, Texas! From the relaxed but tasteful ambiance of their building to the excellent service and constantly evolving menu, there's little not to like about this place. If you don't mind the drive, this is a "MUST EXPERIENCE" restaurant in the Austin area.

Austinites, I cannot stress the fact that there may be excellent cuisine in our great city, but coupled with the ambiance, and extraordinary level of customer service; I would have to say there is no place like Apus. From the world class menu, that changes often because of their requirements for the highest quality ingredients, to the mixologist making topshelf house interpretations of some amazing drinks, and the foodie experts that happen to double as wait staff, MAKE THIS A MUST VISIT. As you know, I don't hand out lavish praise often or lightly, but the experience was almost beyond comprehension. Make coming here an event because the menu deserves scrutiny and the 3-4 course meal format should be required and deserve savoring! The staff has come to us from some of the finest restaurants in New York, and collaborate on everything bringing layer upon layer of flavors that will amaze the palate. Make reservations. They can also accommodate parties of 25-60 for a memorable party of any type. Bonne Appétit!

The food was absolutely divine, service impeccable, truly one of the best meals I have had in Austin. The menu is unique and inventive as are the flavors they yield, a real treat!

Exceptionally cozy and delightful atmosphere, but the holiday dining experience could have used some work. Front staff seemed harried and annoyed. During the meal, there were several mistakes made with our order. The culinary highlight was the melt in your mouth bread with cultured honey butter served before the food itself. Sweet Lord, that was good. Turkey was delicious. However, the turkey confit stuffing was WAY too salty. Almost inedible. Desserts were unremarkable. It's the holidays, so I feel there should have been 1 pie option. Overall, I give this place a solid OK. At $230 for a 2-person dinner, I expected more.

Better than expected. Everything on the Saturday Prix Fixe menu was cooked properly. The portions were just right; we walked away satisfied. Staff was attentive and personable.

Overall an excellent meal and worth the drive from Austin into hill country. Creative dishes with some unexpected flavor combinations, like the aged snapper with chili oil and apples.

I loved this restaurant and their prefix menu. As a vegetarian whose husband is a meat eater the challenge is finding a restaurant that can accommodate both our pallettes and Apis does an excellent job. I would actually rate it 4.5 out of 5. As you can see from my pictures the gem is the hills of Austin is as beautiful as the dishes they create.
