Think of it was Walmart-for-Indian groceries. This place is always buzzing. Located in the strip mall in the heart of fremont, this grocery store anchors the place that also has a variety of shops and restaurants that share the parking lot. Along with a plethora of food trucks and occasional farmers market, there he place is lively. Alas, the parking gets a bit painful but with shoppers coming and going, you find a spot quickly. The store itself is stocked with piles of fresh vegetables under the outdoor tent, along with unique fruit and other condiments. The produce is always fresh. Inside there is a small take out restaurant and snack bar. So shop groceries but you won’t need to cook tonight. Of course the whole selection is Indian. The shop has whatever you want - with such high number of customers they are able to stock everything and move it keep it always fresh. The staff is no-full, keeps the experience brisk. The checkout line can get VERY long. But with old skool Bollywood on the TV/sound system, and a sea of humanity, it is a good place to people watch. Somehow you leave with your trunk full of groceries and heart full of humanity.

Good store, has a wide variety of Indian products that you would not find anywhere. They are open 24hours which makes it more convenient. You can go any time and they have all the groceries and products available. Weekends are super busy. They have made recent changes with express checkout for 10 or less. They also have their original check out lines. The to go food place is very reasonable and very good food. Freshly prepared. They are one of few places that offer freshly made pan and they have wide variety of made. There are some pan handlers out there in the parking lot and need to clean the parking complex a little bit more. Even though it provides an authentic India experience. Would prefer it to be bit better.

I stopped by Apni Mandi for some grocery shopping and was surprised to see a massive deli area tucked inside. It’s strictly takeout, with everything from samosas, pakoras, puffs, and chaats to paneer curries, daals, and even indo-chinese dishes. They’ve also got paan and a huge dessert selection, but I didn’t get to try those this time. I ordered a dahi papdi chaat which was super affordable and enough for three people. Also got an indo-chinese combo with garlic noodles, fried rice, veg manchuria, and gobi manchuria. The garlic noodles were my favorite. Fried rice was a bit bland, but the manchurians were tasty but could use a little more spice. Kadai paneer was flavorful but a bit too oily for me, and the rotis were standard. With so many options and affordable prices, this is hands down the best Indian spot to grab super affordable quick bites. I’ll definitely be back for more dinners togo.

I recently bought 1 crate of Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes ($60/crate) from Apni Mandi Fremont, expecting premium quality. Unfortunately, when I cut open just 3 mangoes, all three were spoiled. I didn’t even risk cutting the rest. I called them to request a refund, but they were completely uncooperative. Very disappointing experience — especially after spending $60 for what should have been top-quality mangoes. I am attaching pictures as proof.

They have some items on sale on Friday Except green leafy vegetables I think the rest of the stuff is very fresh. Green Leafy vegetables are much better at Sunday farmers market in the same complex

It’s a 24 hour grocery store in Fremont. There are many varieties of vegetables, kept outside the store which is nice. We can shop with a fresh air. It’s a large store that sells a lot of items such as rice, spices, vegetables, fruits, bread, milk, pickles, wheat, different types of flours, house cleaners, biscuits, cookies, steel and brass utensils. Overall a big store and hope to get most of the items we need. There is also a food store inside that sells fried rice, sweets etc for Togo. I could not find a place to sit inside and eat. We can see the items and its price while checkout which was pretty helpful. The price was little high for some of the items, but some items it was competitive from other stores. You cannot return the items so I suggest to consider before buying. Otherwise a great store to go and buy.

As an indian grocery store, good size, space, very clean. No farmers market feel. We went in looking for President butter, they keep In Sunnyvale location, didn't find here. That whole section was minimal. In fairness we walked out quickly, nothing caught our eye.

They offer nice weekend deals, making it a great place to shop and stock up affordably. The market being open 24 hours is a huge plus for busy schedules. There's ample parking, so it’s always convenient, even on weekends. One small suggestion: it would be great if they could also serve free tea, like they do at their Sunnyvale store — that little touch goes a long way! Overall, a well-stocked, convenient, and budget-friendly Indian grocery destination.

My experience at Apni Mandi kitchen is always been great. The food is very good. The staff there is very nice. Gurleen is very kind and always helpful.

Apni Mandi Farmers Market is located in the Irvington District of Fremont. I recently found out about this market through my cousin, who lives nearby. Since then, I have been here several times and found them to have a great selection of fresh, reasonably priced produce. $20 would usually get me a couple bags of fruits and vegetables. Aside from that, they also carry a lot of grocery and general household items from India and other foreign countries. I actually found one of my favorite treats of all time here (McVitie's Orange Club Biscuits)! They also have a bakery and takeout Indian food section in the market. However, I have yet to try them. Staff here is alright. Parking usually is a pain. Best to come here on weekdays to avoid the crowd.

please avoid buying frozen items like ice creams or any food. Most of the time (around 4 out of 5 times), the frozen items seem to have melted before and refrozen--they look and taste odd when opened. I've also had issues with dosa packets: once it was expired, and another time the packet was already opened. Needs better quality control for these items.

No proper queue system - don't order from machine. People who ask at counter or directly order at counter don't need to wait. For simple order of chai, Pakoda I had to wait for long time and everyone ordered after me got the order. Bad service and order system

Crazy store! All the stars for the fact that it is open 24 hours. Its far for me si that doesent help but its nice knowing its open if I ever need anything in an emergency. They have a nice takeaway food court with prepared foods that are reasonably priced. They also have a pastry counter, live pani puri and a paan counter. I like that the store is big so everything is spaced well. Lines were long when we went on a Saturday night.

Another encounter of poorly managed fruits. Rotten guava sold for $4.49 / lb. Apni Mandi must throw out these expired fruits, or better (for them) to sale at discount BEFORE it gets rotten!

I visited this store today (11/27/2025) and had a very unpleasant experience. The person wearing eye glasses at counter number 2 handled my checkout and was extremely rude. He forgot to scan a rice bag and then told me I hadn't informed him. When scanning items he was blabbering in a very rude and unprofessional manner.he didn't even gave me receipts after checkout. I have been living in the Bay Area for 10 years, and this is the first time I have encountered such behavior at a checkout. I would not come back to this store. I hope the staff receives proper training and learns some manners.

I've been to Apni Mandi several times, and unfortunately, the customer service recently was disappointing. The staff often appear uninterested to help. Simple questions were met with curt or dismissive responses. During my last visit, the cashier was visibly impatient, rushing through checkout without basic courtesy. The store itself has good product variety and reasonable prices, but poor service ruins the overall experience. I hope the management takes steps to train the staff on professionalism, communication, and customer respect -- otherwise, many regular shoppers will start looking elsewhere.

Always chaotic, poor management specially in the cooked food/kitchen section. There is not point of ordering ahead of time bcoz it won't be ready and they will ask you to wait. This happens too often. Sometimes after wait you grab your order and the order is incomplete or not correct. Hopefully, they will understand the issues which customers are facing and work on fixing it.

Apni Mandi market always has great food at reasonable prices, workers are usually friendly as well. But I had a better experience at the Sunnyvale location. Parking is a war here. There are multiple businesses in this plaza, especially the new fast food place where people wait in a long line for, and I could not think of any other worse place in terms of parking space. Half of the cars here are Teslas. What in the world is happening here?

Prices are very random and misleading. They sold some ON SALE items at higher than normal prices during Diwali. For example 10 lb Daawat basmati rice was $16.99 on sale when other shops sell it at $14.99 as regular price. Cleanliness in food area needs lot of improvement. There is no table seating for eating food.

My comments are with their food/kitchen service. People working there don't know how to deal with customers, they miss orders and after informing them they scramble and don't apologize. Sometimes they will behave as if they are doing huge favor on customers. Management clearly needs to train their team on how to manage customers or else they will soon start loosing customers. Food taste wise it's just ok not wow like feeling.

I generally shop at the sunnyvale location for 2 reasons: it is cleaner and it has free chai all day every day. I come here for some grocery items & a quick lunch sometimes when i am getting my car washed at nearby Pacific Carwash. This place is alright but i feel some items cost more than the Sunnyvale location. Maybe i am wrong.....

Variety is equally impressive: aisles are lined with regional flours, rice, hard-to-find masalas, and ready-to-eat snacks I haven't spotted anywhere else in the Bay Area. Warning to anyone planning to come here! The place is fine for groceries -- but if you're coming for any of the vendor events outside, avoid it at all costs. The management literally decides who gets to skip the line. Doesn't matter how long you've been waiting -- they'll just pull people from the back and put them right in front of you.

This supermarket is the largest Indian store I've been too, so of course they have a huge selection, and organic choices. I found some new products and some I already use. Super excited about finding A2 milk paneer, we tested it and it had a nice soft texture. So I bought 7 more. I also bought Alexadre A2 Milk for a dollar less than Sprouts market.

Step right into the hustle and bustle of Apna Bazar, a super market specializing in products popularly used in south Asian cuisine and hosting a prepared food station for sweets and snacks. Located in the Irvington district of Fremont, this huge shop is fronted by a huge parking lot. Although there aren't a lot of spots with shade, it's typically abundant in spaces. Some folks like me probably haven't been around this part of Fremont as it's located off a side road and hidden by the historic buildings lining the main road. Right from the front of the building, you'll often see fresh produce and on-sale items nicely displayed to entice you into the shop. Their produce found here and inside the store are pretty good in quality and price compared to other grocery stores. If you're looking to grab some fresh fruits and vegetables, this place is a great option, especially if you're in the area. Aside from the fresh food, there are aisles of snacks from India and other south Asian countries. A lot of them seemed to be loaded with spices and would satisfy any heat seekers out there. They also had a variety of frozen foods like ice cream (so many flavors!). Even if you're not into snacking, these aisles were just fun to explore the different snacks originating from across the globe. Within the store there were also household goods, seasonings (so many options and premade ones too!), and even items for festivities and religious events. It was an enjoyable experience perusing the wares and checking out what unique items were readily available just miles away from home. Once you've filled up your baskets, head over to the far aisle of the store and start queuing. They typically have multiple registers open and are well staffed but due to the popularity of this store, there can be a wait. We didn't understand the process at first and just stood in one of the aisles facing one of the registers but were quickly notified that we had to queue in the big line and be individually called to each register as they open. Needless to say, that last aisle gets packed but it does allow you to find any last minute items before you pay. Overall, I'd consider this store a go to for your grocery needs but also a top contender for specialty items for anything related to south Asian cuisine. If you haven't been, it's worth exploring. Maybe before or after a stop at the local coffee shop/bar down the road!

Stopped by Apna Bazar for groceries after a long break and was surprised to see a massive new food stall inside! They've got a live pani poori counter with tons of pani options, a pan shop, sweets, pastries, and a wide selection of dishes like paneer butter masala, malai kofta, aloo curry, channa curry, plus Chinese items like noodles, fried rice, and soups. We tried the paneer curry, which was great, but the kadhi lacked flavor. Overall, it's a lively spot with so many options--looking forward to going back and trying more!

I went here for Diwali shopping and I was overcharged. I was particularly irate when I had to pay for their branded box to take home Diwali Mithai. Why charge me for a box? Was I supposed to take the sweets in my hands? It wasn't the point of just money, but bad customer practices, including a reluctance to give me a receipt for my purchases - and then poke fun at me for even asking for it in a disrespectful way. I know Indian stores don't have a lot to go by in terms of customer service but this one hit a new low.

They have food to order. I like their hard work and some of the sabzi are very nice. Their SUJI HALWA IS HORRIBLE. It's only GHEE. It is really really bad. Please adding so much ghee does not make things tasty and rich. Please learn better recipe for it.

This place has everything! Fresh produce - check, paan di dukaan check, decorative items check, plans like curry leaves check. It's clean and nicely maintained. It can get super crowded though but the service is fast. If you're in the Bay Area - you might already know about it but Iam not so was very excited to see this place and be here. Out of townies should definitely check out this grocery store and nearby restaurants.

I bought Kala Chana, Roti and Paneer Veg. here today evening. My stomach is hurting since I ate the food. The roti was very oily. However, the Kala Chana tasted good. The Veg Paneer was super bland and tasteless. I won't be buying food from here ever again.

I had a very disappointing Diwali shopping experience. I bought an item, discovered it was broken while putting it in my car, and the store refused to replace it--insisting I must have damaged it myself. The manager, Sumit, handled the situation poorly. I used to do my monthly bulk shopping here, but this incident has changed my view. For a $10 item they've likely lost much more in future business.

This review is for grocery store. What we have noticed is all vegetable are huge in size . Most like gmo and loaded with growth harmonies. Veggie in USA are generally huge but at this grocery they are even bigger. Not sure where they are procuring their produce from. 1 star. On good things : paan is delicious and we usually go for it. 4 star.

Food court at Apni Mandi offers quite a good options for Indian food! Amritsari Kulcha- Chole and some of the Indo-Chinese dishes are unbeatable. This place also offers grate price for the quantity served!

Please beware of their food court. It's very tasty but they sell very stale food and use rotten or expired vegetables and paneer. Every time I have bought food from them I have had stomach issues and once I was even very sick.

What a great Indian market to venture to for unique snacks and fresh groceries! They have a wide selection of veggies and fruits for phenomenal prices and definitely some delicacies you won't find anywhere else (like their Indian paan, which is located in their bakery selection). Open late (past 10 p.m.) and usually pretty crowded but the checkout line moves fast. I haven't been to an Indian market in a minute but this one is spacious, lively, and reminds me of being in Asia with all the farmers markets and diversity of people combing through produce and goods. Would recommend even just checking out on a weekend evening after eating at one of the many establishments (lots of Indo-China cuisine available) nearby. Note that the parking lot, while big, can fill up very quickly as it shares the space with a number of restaurants, cafe, and an improv theater.

I wish i could give a lower score. Somehow every time i use my card here it gets scammed within 24hrs. I don't what kind of machine these people have The prices are insane anyway losing money on top of it is too much.

We got 5 packets of roti because they were good but out of the 5 packets 4 were uncooked and i know they wont be refunded they way the store. This has decemt place but the kitchen giving frozen roti under the foil. Be careful of what you buy from here

The cost of produces, foods, and groceries is fair. But the qualities of some merchants were inconsistent. The check-out time also varies from time to time. Usually 10 to 20 minutes wait due to fewer registers.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at the food court of this apni mandi market. First, we waited over 10 minutes just to place an order for two drinks despite there being no long line. When we finally got to the cashier, not only was the service painfully slow and disorganized, but I was also never given a receipt after paying. To make matters worse, an employee who clearly worked there approached me and rudely shooed me away without any explanation or courtesy. It was unprofessional, disrespectful, and left a really sour taste, definitely not what I expected from a place that prides itself on community and service. While waiting, I'm pretty sure I saw cockroaches on the floor where the workers are standing around.

I'll go here to buy grocery but never for their chat. Tried the samosa channa chat. Got 2 big samosas and decent amt sauce on top. But no channa. I dono if they forgot to add channa or that's what it is. I hardly had 10 channa in my pack.

I am commenting on Apni Mandi Food Court inside and NOT about grocery which is good. As a Fremont resident living near Boulevard, I tried the new food court inside Apni Mandi Farmers Market. Typically, when I crave samosas or other Indian cuisine, I head to the food court inside Indian Cash and Carry's Rasoi in Fremont.After a few visits to Apni Mandi's food court, I've been consistently underwhelmed Packaging: . One major issue is the subpar packaging.See attached. When ordering2 curry Combo thalis, they often mix them up, leading to messy and unappetizing meals. And if you try to order 3 curry combo, then it will be messed up t extreme as they use same food container.This is a stark contrast to Indian Cash and Carry's Rasoi, where the packaging is superior and prevents spills. Overpriced: The food at Apni Mandi's food court is overpriced compared to similar options at Indian Cash and Carry's Rasoi. Quality Here I would compare apples to apples. So I would compare with food court of Indian cash and carry's rasoi. because we use such food court only when we go for grocery. So final main review: The quality of the food is inconsistent and BAD. I recently picked up a combo thali, and the rotis were stale, cold, and crumbled easily. This was particularly disappointing, especially considering it was a festive occasion

Mostly a takeout. Tried Indo-Chinese on two occasions. Food was good. On the second visit last night we got short changed on two items. Need to try Punjabi food here. They do not have a tandoor to make tandoori naan or roti.

Place definitely not to go horrible staff asked for an item and they pointed it out like I was some dog and I saw another worker go to the bathroom and he didn't wash his hands he works at the restaurant btw

A great place for Asian groceries and bakery items! They have almost everything you might need, and the best part is that it's open 24/7. Very convenient and a good overall shopping experience. Highly recommended!

Great choice of fresh produce, indian grocery and spices, and of-course a new food and sweets section which could be a little better.

I went on a Friday afternoon around 11:15am after picking up my package at the Post Office. I was curious what they have in store on this food plaza. Now, this plaza has over 8 Indian restaurants, a liquor store, a billiards and bar, then discovered this grocery finally opened in a few months. I went inside and was curious. Some of the seasonal fruits and vegetables are sold outside. I would say prices are reasonable and cheap compared to other Indian groceries and another competing supermarket along Mowry Avenue. This is a great addition to the Irvington area and south grimmer and other neighborhoods. As soon as I went inside the supermarket, it was well lit with bright lights, there's a food court there that serve Paan, Indian snacks like samosas, cakes and many more dishes stored on hot kettles. The food court is located on the right side. Then a produce section is huge. There are fresh veggies located outside too. The whole supermarket is huge. The aisles are organized according to what food products they sell. A lot of local Indian brands are sold here. Price are little cheaper for produce, and the variety is huge for masala mixes, spices, herbs, rusks, salt, chutneys, oils, frozen foods, chapatis, flatbreads, rice, lentils and other flours, kitchenware, and religious accessories and other holiday items. There are even Cricket bats here too. Overall the ambiance is really nice to see and a lot of variety. Prices are little cheaper here like $1 for many goods here. They offer a lot of fresh vegetables, fruits and you can spot some deals here. Today, I saw green kiwi selling for $2.99/ lb - I would say it's a deal here. If you are looking for individual spices, It is $0.70 to $1 cheaper compared to other groceries and other supermarkets around this area. I saw Fresno chilies here that cost $4.01/ lbs here. Also, one of the guys caught me taking pictures because it was my first time. I kept taking it for other people to see if you guys are interested going here. I would say there are more local Indian brands, Deep india catered to the Indian community here. But I would buy their spices, herbs, vegetables and other items. There is also a bigger section for Indian chips, snacks, fennel seeds and saunf as a mouth freshener, Indian candies and other western chocolates, fruit pastilles. Ambiance of an Indian grocery store in bright, well lit, very organized and clean. 5/5. A small food court inside serving popular Indian food, samosas, snacks, galebi, Paan, cakes and burfi. 4/5. I will have to try it next time! Overall grocery is 4.7/5. Pictures are not permitted to avoid competition from other groceries and supermarkets near by. Prices are little lower here. I am talking about their vegetables, fruits, and other spices, pantry essentials here. There are a lot of flour and rice varieties here. There are about 30 brands and the quality are of basmati rice sold here. Prices are pretty reasonable here like $16 to $20, so I would say $4 to 6, or less than compared to other stores. Thank you for opening a great Indian grocery here at the Irvington area, it is much appreciated and needed. I will come back to buy what I need for Indian ingredients here especially spices, herbs, produce and other hard-to-find veggies, fruits or chilies. I will buy the unique Indian snacks here which cannot be found anywhere in the Tri-City area. It is also the reason why I will stay away from Safeway because of their price gouging and their produce are too expensive. A strong point why you have to get the best deals and freshest produce for any family to enjoy! It is better to go here to see for yourself on the variety of items they sell. It is extensive, and prices are reasonable. Sometimes you get the best deals on fresh fruits, vegetables that are in season. Overall is 4.5/5. It is also open 24/7, so if you have to go to a grocery for emergency. This is your next destination.

My experiences at Apni mandi fremont have been consistently frustrating, demonstrating a severe lack of transparency and customer care. I previously purchased a whole box of mangoes from them. Unknown to me, and without any staff mentioning it, it's apparently expected that customers thoroughly inspect every single mango in a sealed box before purchasing. The store sold me a completely packed box, and when I got home, I discovered numerous spoiled mangoes hidden within. There was no warning about checking the produce, nor any offer of return for the rotten items. This recent incident, where they refused to accept a return on an item that was already opened. I purchased an Indian snacks (boondi) bag. That has a zip tie and then has to be sealed inside. But when we opened the ziptie, the bag was already opened. Again, there was no visible or verbal mention of a no return after 7 days policy anywhere in the store. It feels incredibly deceptive to only reveal such a rigid rule after a purchase has been made and an issue arises. In both the cases they sold spoiled items to us and refused to return It's one thing to have policies, but it's another entirely to hide them from your customers until it's too late. The cumulative effect of these experiences--being sold spoiled produce without warning and then denied a return shows a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. If you value transparency, fair return policies, and the assurance that you're buying quality produce, I strongly advise taking your business elsewhere. While they may have a decent selection, the recurring issues with their customer service and hidden policies make shopping here a gamble I'm no longer willing to take.

I stay in San Bruno. There are not many big Indian supermarkets. I was visiting Fremont and decided to give this a try as I had heard so much about it. The store was hugeeeeeee. Good & Fresh vegetables. And they are reasonably priced. I don't think they had anything out of stock. Everything was there. Atta, all types of rice, cooked phulka, Indian flavors icecream - you name it and they have it. They have a paan & chaat section on the entrance on right hand side. I ate their pani puri and chocolate paan. Pani poori was good but little too expensive considering its not a dine - in restaurant. Chocolate paan was amazing. I was mesmerized to see their collection of Paan. Def recommend shopping groceries from here.

Alphonso Mangoes from Apna Bazar Fremont bought at $49.99 ... whole lot is rotten. Made a huge mistake, last year we got Kesar Mangoes from here, which were good. Will never buy Mangoes again from here.

This review is only about the paan corner in Apna Bazaar. We liked the service and the paan. They were decently priced, neatly assembled and delicious. The leaf tasted fresh. The filling was just right for our palate. I had the Royal meetha and my husband had the shahi meetha.

Folks working do not help a lot and not trusting! I would not reco this place! Tried asking for help from front staff not much success! Workers are helpful but limited by language!

This place sucks. Don't come here. Lines are crazy long not because of demand because of stupid management who has only 5 counters. Parking is a mess. There is no parking ever. I believe my CalFresh EBT card were stolen by the cashier at Apni Mandi Farmers Market. When I made my purchase, I handed my card over to the cashier at checkout, and two days later I discovered that my EBT card had been used for unauthorized online transactions. I had big loss for over 1000 and extremely angry about this theft, it's clear that my personal information was stolen and used for fraudulent criminal activity. Please be very cautious when using your card at this store. I am also planning to file a police report to seek justice.

we went to the store , the guy named summit was packing our bags and was throwing the stuff literally. when i said please pack them nicely I am traveling long , he said why would i pack nicely and started yelling at us in his own language which was so mean. I request management not to hire these kind of people which would result loss in your business. worst service ever and I have been visiting this store about 3 years in fremont ever since it is started, he was the first person ever who was so mean that I spoke with in that store.

They promote pricing of items in weekly ad and then cut corners while applying the price when customers buy it. Please check your receipts carefully.
