Google
It is one of the recommended breweries in Boone NC. The brewery offers a large variety of IPA beers. The flight is an excellent way to explore their many beer choices. The food truck offers good food options, including three excellent appetizers and very good pizza. Definitely a place to visit when in Boone. My score a solid 4.7.

Google
Had a great time at Appalachian Mountain Brewery! We started with a cider flight—loved getting to try a variety, and they were all served in a super organized way with a labeled card that made it easy to keep track. We followed that up with the Downsouth beer and Apple Quilt cider—both were standouts. The Downsouth beer was incredibly smooth and flavorful, definitely a new favorite. The Pretty Peach cider was light and refreshing, and the Apple Quilt had a rich, crisp apple flavor that really hit the spot. The outdoor space is what really sets this place apart—16 long wooden tables with benches, Adirondack chairs scattered around, cornhole games going, and live music in the background. They also had food trucks on site, which made it feel like a perfect mix of a brewery and a small outdoor festival. The combination of a great drink selection, a relaxed and well-thought-out space (both covered patio and open-air areas), and an easygoing vibe makes this a must-visit if you’re in the area. Highly recommend!

Google
Really great brewery. Came in while in town just to check things out and enjoy a flight. I did 4 dark beers and they were all great! Very flavorful, good mouthfeel, and excellent finish for all of them. It is in an odd location, and when we came in on a Saturday late afternoon - early evening the parking lot was near full. Servers were good, vibe was good, beers were great!

Google
Glad to see this place back on its feet so soon after the flood. They make superior beer and always have a terrific selection of different styles. The pizza food truck is a huge bonus, best pizza I’ve had in Boone. Happy to support these independent craft brewers.

Google
My first visit this Friday evening. I can tell it's a pretty cool place, especially when there's music. One glaring problem was that there was only one point of service and therefore a long line to get a beer. Other than that, seems like a cool place to hang out

The Red review

Google
This place was next to our hotel and perfect spot for food and drinks. It was a Tuesday night and locals night with $4.00 pints of beer and ciders. The beers was very good with many to choose from and of excellent quality. There was a fun atmosphere with plenty of locals and very dog friendly. The food truck out the back pumped out the food and although our pizza was a little burnt on the edges it was tasty and delicious. Great service from the bar staff and definitely recommend.

Google
Marylander finds a happy spot at the end of a long day. Very cool place with outdoor and indoor seating. Bar peeps were fast n friendly. Great selection of crafts certain to hit your happy spot. I tried 2, Boones Creek, smooth but uneventful honey and orange rind, didn't taste either. Apricot peach rival, huge on flavor, great summer refresher. Very delish brick oven pizza to fill me up.

Google
Great place to get a beer. Everyone there was super friendly. The line took no time. Perfect vibes. Wide variety of locally brewed beers. No liquor.

Yelp
Let me start by telling you about my first time here. It was 2017 and I was a student at App State living at a close by apartment. It was the first crisp fall weekend and all I wanted to do was sit outside with my friends and dog and sip on a beer. But, not just any beer. A beer that was actually fucking delicious. We walked over to AMB because it was the closest brewery in walking distance. I ordered their haziest IPA and sat outside. The beer was so delicious and the ambiance was open, laid back, and friendly. Now, in 2025, I have had a lot of different beer around the High Country and AMB remains my favorite. It is the perfect place to bring out of town friends for a casual, warm night. NOT TO MENTION the delicious pizza from their food truck. The pizza takes a little while, but only because you are getting the REAL deal and they do not rush through it. Just like the beer, their food is also done with care. Live music most weekends (all weekends maybe?) and cool art on the walls that celebrate North Carolina and our beautiful mountains.

Yelp
Decided to come here for beers late on Friday. The place is open until 11pm but does last call at 10:30pm. The people working the bar weren't that talkative but hey, maybe they had a long day. We tried the flight and then got two pints. They do start putting the seating up on top of the tables after last call so it's definitely a "get out of here" vibe. But the beer was decent.

Yelp
You can blame my dog for a lack of pictures (but hey now you know it's dog friendly ;) . This awesome little brewery is nestled behind some buildings in Bonne making it a spot you are less likely to just stumble across on but it's worth the stop! They ambiance is fun, inviting, and partially trendy. This day I went by they had a small market going on out side with local handmade vendors. They also have a food truck frequently that's there and I didn't try it this time but it's on my list for next time. As for the beers: they're cold, delicious, and keep begging you to come back for more. They have some seasonal picks that are absolutely worth trying if you are a more adventurous craft beer drinker. The staff was great and accommodating and is happy to offer samples if you'd like to try something before committing to a full serving. The seating is great both inside and outside, but be warned this place can get busy so get here early especially if there are events happening.

Yelp
Love trying new places and my wife picked this one out. Very casual place, plenty of beers on tap as well as some hard ciders. I picked a light summer lager. Wife got one of the ciders. Both were good and refreshing. They have bagged snacks but any food comes from a food truck parked outside. We got the Mexican corn off the cob and a pepperoni pizza. Don't bother with the corn. It came with tortilla chips but was so bland I wanted to take it back. Corn on corn chips didn't hit the spot. It got a little better towards the bottom of the cup but the space was too thin and it really lacked flavor. Save your money and pass on it. The pizza was wood fired and was good but certainly not worth $14. My advice is to eat before you come here. There is plenty of seating and beers to sample but don't count on the food from the food truck. We finished our drinks, food and left without ordering a second round. My wife described it as a soccer mom hangout. I have to agree. It wasn't bad, just not our cup of tea.

Chris J.

Yelp
Wry neat place! Leaning into the rustic vibe- this place was really cool. The servers were very friendly and knowledgeable as well. The current selection of beers and ciders were excellent - and we definitely want to go back as they change barrels out.

Karen S.

Yelp
Celebrating Boone's craft beer culture, AMB is nestled in its very own park with a large outdoor garden area, vast open-air seating, and an inviting covered pavilion. The communal Oktoberfest-style picnic tables that collectively can accommodate up to 250 guests, foster an environment of community and conviviality. AMB offers a thoughtful draft and bottled beer selection and additionally ciders and wines. If you get hungry there's a food truck on site that also serves up your favorite casual fare with wood fired pizzas and a fun variety of snacks and sides. We absolutely loved the vibe and atmosphere and the beers were great too!

Caitlyn B.

Yelp
Such a fun rotating beer menu, also sell merch on site! Love the outdoor seating and always have a food truck on site! Amazing vibes all around.

Aaron F.

Yelp
Definitely a great little pub with a lot of unique characteristics that make it a great spot to stop at in the mountains. Definitely a known brewery around these areas that has some pretty decent options in their own right that you will find outside of coming here, but the variety here definitely tops that with a nice atmosphere. I can see why it's a very popular spot here in the middle of the college town. Honestly between the service being good and the variety of a simple combination of indoor outdoor spaces, it's about all you can ask for. Don't get me wrong there's some breweries that have unique things to offer besides this in the mountains at times, but what they have done here is perfect to make everything flow well.

Anna S.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! The beer is fabulous! Good selection to choose from. Love the vibe! The live music is always good and the pizza is delicious!! Definitely a go to when in Boone!

Andrea B.

Yelp
Amazing bartender named Alexis!! She was so sweet with helping me with taking a picture of my dog. What a cute thing to do! Nice touch. Also, the Farm to Flame pizza food truck is to die for!!! Great price and size and the quality is amazing!! Wish I lived here. I'd come back everyday.

Kylie F.

Yelp
I love that they have a big variety of cider! It's always fun to visit this place, try the new bees and enjoy some pizza from their semi-permanent food truck.

Mark T.

Yelp
Great place to enjoy their craft beer. They have great beer. Gotta do a flight for sure when you come. Sit outdoor or inside where it's open and roomy. Great service and friendly faces that make the ambiance feel so good.

Audra A.

Yelp
Great spot! We happened to stop while spending a weekend in Boone, and they had a K9 Keg Pull event. Lots of cute doggies were in attendance with their owners. Even with all the folks there for the event, we had no issues getting our draft selections quickly. They also had a food truck on site serving up wood fired pizza. The best thing I had was the hot spiced spiked cider - it was the perfect combination of harvest spices, apple flavor, and not too sweet. Flights are available - grab a card near the door and list your selections. We tried lots of things we would usually be too timid to try this way, loved it! The Honeydew Honeysuckle Wheat Ale was the most unique - notes of honeydew with this underlying floral aroma/taste, it was a special kind of yummy. What's the Yams is a farmhouse ale with a 9.1% ABV, and it was very flavorful but def could tell it was 9%! The faves of most of the locals seemed to be Space Cloud Pleaser Hazy IPA, Hop Rain Drop IPA, and the Long Leaf IPA. We had to try all of those too. Bathrooms were both unisex but in great shape, surprisingly. Seating - mixture of indoor seating in the taproom, lots of seating on the enclosed porch with heat, as well as picnic tables outside near the K9 race. They also had live music inside at the tap room.

Caroline M.

Yelp
so fun! I love the atmosphere. I was able to have an amazing beer while getting work done. great wifi service as well. would recommend, and would return.

Eileen P.

Yelp
My boyfriend enjoyed his ported so much on our weekend getaway that we had to stop in on our way out. He is already planning on stopping in during our next trip. Great atmosphere, service was excellent, we didn't try the food truck but whatever it was smelt amazing.

Jackie D.

Yelp
We were in Boone for the day to bring my daughter to college at Appalachian. We decided to stop by to get a flight at Appalachian Mountain brewery, and we were so happy. We made the choice to go there. They have a huge selection of beers on draft and in cans. They also have lots of ciders as well as some gose. I would recommend that anyone who likes beer stop in for a pint or a flight!

Kathy T.

Yelp
Nice environment, but the food is from a food truck. Pizza was ok, more tapas food than anything else.

Mads B.

Yelp
Lots of space to spread out in the Covid era. There is no food, but there's a rotating food truck in the parking lot. They'll even bring your food to your table after you order. When we were there, the food truck was pizza, and it was really good. Service is always friendly. Bathrooms are clean. My only negative is the beer selection is a little limited. Yes, there are lots of beers. But many of them are ciders. If you like dark beers, there are only a couple of options. They also sell 6- and 12-packs at a great price. Totally worth stopping in for a drink.

Sherry W.

Yelp
You order at the counter and can sit inside or outside. There is a food truck out front. The staff is friendly. I did a flight with three ciders and one blonde ale. They all were tasty. Many people had laptops and were drinking and relaxing. It looked more like a coffee shop ambiance with people on computers. We were there on a Tuesday afternoon. The flight was $10. They also have homemade root beer and ginger ale.

Frank K.

Yelp
Good beer and very knowledgeable people behind the bar. I tried 4 or 5 different beers and they were all good. Cool laidback place to hang out and chill with friends.

Anne S.

Yelp
I've avoided writing a review for so long for AMB simply because I don't know how to dump all of my opinions and experiences of this place in one post. My thumbs would fall off. This is hands down my favorite brewery I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot - at least in the southeast anyway (Charleston, Atlanta, Charlotte, Asheville). I have lived in Boone for approximately 3 years and have probably been to AMB over 100 times, maybe more. Sometimes I go even when I don't intend to drink. It's a fun atmosphere. Really fun. Whether it's the middle of the day for an event or simply good weather or in the evenings on trivia night or with live music. I've been here alone, to meet friends, my parents, to have meetings with colleagues, to attend club meetings and birthday gatherings... you name it. The best place about this brewery is that the beer is actually fucking good. I can't tell you how many places I've attended that have the atmosphere matched but the beer is horrific. I've literally never ordered any beer from AMB I didn't like. In fact, AMB has actually aided me in expanding my taste beyond wheats and Belgians and sours to IPAs and others. They are constantly brewing new beers, too, so this place never gets old or boring. Right now I'm on a Zero Golf Balls kick. Friends who don't love craft beer like it here because they also sell cider. Pizza is almost always available through the affiliated food truck (great but will save review for their independent page) or others that occasionally swing by. The bartenders are all very kind, quick, efficient, knowledgable, and definitely tolerant of folks like me who occasionally have too much fun. P.S. You can use either restroom stall.

Anita W.

Yelp
Such a chill and fun environment! $10 flights are the best! The guys behind the bar were nice and awesome! Great for groups or a few friends. Extra seating in the covered outdoor area. Would love to see it when it's not raining; they had a big area for fire pits and what not outside. Love their cider options! Good flavor!

Jeremy C.

Yelp
I have always enjoyed AMB and the last visit was no exception. It was a bit different with the COVID protocol but it was still a great experience. The vibe here is just a "cool" one, really relaxed and laid back. It is just a really cool place to have a beer or two and maybe get something from a food truck. There are several selections on the list including several IPA's, ciders, and even a hard seltzer. The Blonde was good as was the Pilsner. I'll keep going back here and if you haven't been...you should.

Dylan U.

Yelp
This is a must if you're in Boone! Do yourself a favor and just stop by. Flights were $10 and the beer is absolutely great. I love Lager and I lived every single one they had here they also had a wheat beer I really enjoyed. My wife got a flight of ciders and they were delicious also. The atmosphere was great you can sit inside our outside. It is also dog friendly so bring your pupper along with you!

Yelper ..

Yelp
Great outdoor area for when the weather is nice. Friendly staff, both beer and cider served. Snacks and Food truck available - didn't try but options looked good.

Roger P.

Yelp
Really good place to hangout. Fun, good selection of beer and good pizza at food truck. Staff is very friendly!

Lita L.

Yelp
This is a great local brewery with a nice selection of brews, especially their IPAs, with a nice cozy atmosphere. There's two rooms, and also a little logo apparel shop with nice flannel plaid shirts, and although we were not there at the right time, posted was live entertainment. I try to stop by when we're in town making our brewery run.

Stephanie J.

Yelp
AMB is serving up a good variety of beers and ciders. Husband ordered a pint of C.R.E.A.M. while I opted for a flight followed by a half pint. My flight consisted of all IPAs, I liked Beech Bike and Not-an-IPA. There is a food truck, Farm to Flame but we did not try it so I can't speak to the food. My number one complaint about this brewery is the parking, it sucked. They have a very small lot but there is an overflow lot that is a very short walk away.

Robert B.

Yelp
Great food and large selection of beers. Trivia night outside was a lot of fun. Great Place!

Christopher M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere with yummy ciders. Fun and chill place to hang. Only downside is that it's a bit hidden and the lot is under construction.

Mayra H.

Yelp
Loved the vibe here! All the beers are great, you can select your flight at your pace and hand in your card, they make sure to put the beer selected by # in the correct # slot. The lager and blonde Ale are their best ones and gold winners. The staff behind the counter is great, super friendly, and very knowledgeable. They have a food truck in front so you don't go hungry! Parking can be an issue when the place is packed!

Stephen H.

Yelp
The best beer we have had in Boone by far! The beer was flavorful, crisp, and went down a bit too easy. The interior could use a up grade and the Peking outside could be a little easier to manage. It is a small interior but cozy. They had a good band playing while there. I loved the brewery but made it even better when I found the beer at a local grocery store. Will be buying the beer again, may stop by the brewery if I have some time to kill.

Katrina C.

Yelp
This place is a gem! We came here on a whim and we lucked out with a pizza truck (delicious) and live music (Brady Turner - first time in Boone) which was amazing!! Great selection of cider and beers... even has a wine and non-alcoholic selection. If you are in Boone, don't miss it!!

Tony R.

Yelp
A great brewery tucked on a side street away from the crowds. Lenny of beer options from lager to stout to ciders. Plenty of room in the back for listening to live music , playing cornhole or just relaxing. Two food trucks, one in the courtyard, serving great egg rolls. We had the Philly and the Cuban. Great taste, just a tad greasy though. The truck has pizza that's pulled right up to an opening to the building. That would definitely help during bad weather. It was a mixed crowd, lots of students but a mix of other older ages too.

Taryn R.

Yelp
One of our favorite places to hang out in Boone! They have a wide variety of beer and cider. It's always a happy day when Ted and I both can find a couple beers we love on the list. My current favorite is the Rose Wit. He's enjoying the many IPAs on tap. They have lots of seating but it is still frequently standing room only after an App State game or on the weekend. Love how dog friendly they are! Also love, love, love how supportive of the community they are. Check out the wall by the bathrooms for the charities they're currently supporting. So, is there anything I don't love about AMB? Well, my only complaint.... I'm just not crazy about their permanent food truck. Some of their menu items are OK but I haven't found anything I just love. I'd prefer a rotation of different trucks to try new things.

Kyle R.

Yelp
AMB had a lot of unique beers that were super fun to try. We really enjoyed our visit.

J D.

Yelp
Awesome beers. Really great place to hang out. Friendly staff. Dog friendly. I love their beer. Even with all the snow and cold weather it was still warm inside.

Bob K.

Yelp
This place was awesome! From the super friendly bar staff who were happy to educate us on their beers as well as recommendations. We happy to be here on a pizza and pitcher night which was absolutely the best. The pizza was from a local wood fired food truck and was delicious. I will definitely be returning next time I'm in the Boone area.

Gracie J.

Yelp
The beer and wine was fine. Definitely will not be back though. Customer service was awful. Our friend asked about wine (she doesn't drink beer, her husband does) and we got told "this is a brewery, we don't want wine people here." She then came out to fill up the water at the front and complained because there was a group of people talking then proceeded to talk shit walking right by our group. The customer service killed the whole experience. At least we got to spend time with the people we care about.

Joann P.

Yelp
What a great selection. After sampling 2 flights (that's 8 samples), my very favorites were The Full Nelson and Honeydew Honeysuckle. Spectacular flavors. And they went well with the very tasty food truck pizza. Congrats. Keep up the good work.

T.S. N.

Yelp
Great experience for a chill night out in Boone. Love music. Local brew. Fresh bites. Definitely heading back soon.

Lori L.

Yelp
Came here with my husband on a friday afternoon. They weren't that busy at all. Location is close to a lot of other places. Staff was friendly and helpful. He was happy with his selection of beer. He even got a sticker to remember that he liked this place. He even got a growler to go! We would stop by again if we were in town.

Jerry K.

Yelp
A wide variety of beers and ciders in a great, friendly atmosphere. My favorite is their ciders. So far haven't eaten so can't comment on the food. Today had a tasty plum flavored cider.

Gary B.

Yelp
Great vibe. Best brewery in NC. Farm to Flame had excellent food. Bartenders had great suggestions.

Rob W.

Yelp
This is a great company. I like the beer and love all the great stuff they do for the community. It is also located in a great town to visit, so I award it a well deserved 5 star review.

Sarah L.

Yelp
I went here back in January and purchased a growler I enjoyed the beer so much. The bartender was very knowledgeable and let me sample the beers.I happen to be a section hiker of the Appalachian Trail so the name drew me in. I ordered a burger that made my mouth water. Thanks for the great experience and I will be back.

Tommy J.

Yelp
Once again 3 reviews. First off the beer. Really good i tried quite a few and everytthing was great. Secondly the food. The small food truck was far better than lost pronvince and a lot cheaper and bigger. The fact a tiny food truck is 10x better than a full kitchen says a lot. 3 the service. It was a bit hetic so i can understand the bar person being a bit flustered, not rushed but certainly get your beer and go type place. The best of the the 3 in Boone NC

Michael M.

Yelp
Stopped here on an afternoon for a few beers with friends before going out to dinner. Nice place and a wide selection of beers. Great location in the downtown area and plenty of parking when we were there. Food option was a food truck that was a tad on the expensive side but other than that things were great.

Eugene L.

Yelp
Very good selection of beer and ciders are available to order and to purchase to take home. The root beer was flat but the flavor was very nice just need a little fizzle. The food truck (farm to flame) had very good food unluckily for us we arrived right after lunch so not everything was available but what the did have was delicious.
