The Best Marionberry Pies in Oregon | Eater Portland

"This Odell country store may not have a hot marionberry pie in the case every day, but there is always at least one pie in the freezer, plus marionberry milkshakes, marionberry cream sodas, and marionberry turnovers for a quick morning bite. Each pie is baked with Hood River Valley fruit, cooked down into a rich, luscious filling encased in a blonde shell. Eat a slice alongside a huckleberry milkshake out in the garden next door." - Janey Wong

Google
Cute lil small store with a cute outside. Not the cheapest but not sell your soul kind of prices. The best thing I tried here was the pear jam!!!! Buy it it’s amazing!!!! Definitely stop here and try the food! You won’t be disappointed!

Winston D.

Google
Nice country store where you will find treats like pie, ice cream, fresh pastries, preserves and jams. They also sell knitted crafts and scented candles. The pastries are always different. I recommend as they were very good.

Laurie C.

Google
Such a wonderful experience and a cute shop and so many choices of wonderful treats. And they're chocolate chip cookies are heavenly. Yes, they're $4. But after you taste it, you'll see why salted chocolate chips!

Marta S.

Google
It’s a cute local store. Loved outdoor sitting area. Lots of interesting either handmade souvenirs or baked goods. They are famous for their milkshakes.

Google
Cute little country store with lots of options for whole pies and knick knacks. A few offerings for milkshakes, pie slices, hand pies and cookies. Lots of jams, syrups and pie fillings for reasonable prices. Got the pumpkin milkshake and marionberry pie, which were excellent. Service was attentive when we needed them and let us browse peacefully when we didn't.

Lucas J.

Google
Extremely cute inside, great smells, attentive staff. Free self-serve samples of the cool jams/jellies they have for sale. But what made it for us was the made-to-order pumpkin milkshake. It was the real deal (we could tell because it tasted like perfect homemade pumpkin pie wrapped in ice cream).

Seth G.

Google
Made my once a year trip after.riding Post Canyon to grab a pumpkin milkshake. If you're ever passing through Odell, make sure to stop and support the local products!

Diann C.

Google
Loved this hidden gem and the ladies who sew the aprons, purses and other items do an excellent job. Milkshakes were flying out of the back area all different flavors and the home grown jams, jellies, syrups etc. we're very good. Samples were available.

Yelp
While visiting Portland, I discovered the Hood River Fruit Loop, which is essentially a drivable loop that features local stores, U-Pick fields, taprooms, wineries, distilleries, flower fields, fruit trees, and more. I discovered Apple Valley Country Store as a popular destination along the loop and decided to make a visit. The country store is quite literally a store, very rural like, that specializes in pies, jams, ice cream, and milkshakes. My research showed they were very well known for their marionberry and huckleberry milkshakes. During my visit, they only had marionberry available so that's what I got. The milkshakes are freshly made and are vibrantly purple in color. I'd never had a marionberry milkshake before and found this one to be creamy and smooth in texture but a bit too sweet for me personally. My parter did not think it was overly sweet so it may have just been a palate difference. Service within the store was friendly and efficient. After placing my milkshake order, I left the counter to explore the store. When the milkshake was ready, a staff member went out of the way to find me and hand deliver it to me.

Yelp
The milkshakes and fresh baked pies brought to Apple Valley Country Store. Their baked goods looked delicious but the store and outside eating area was just a little too dingy and run down for me to fully enjoy. I decided to pass on the food and instead poked around their merchandise. There is an online store where store items can get shipped to your home.

Yelp
I kept seeing various pamphlets/websites mention the Huckleberry Shake from Apple Valley Country Store & Bakery, so I ended up coming here to seek that out. I also tried a Strawberry Rhubarb Handpie. Both the shake and handpie were good, but not the most amazing things I've ever had. As other reviewers mentioned, there was a bit of a wait for the shake, but I didn't mind at all since I was browsing the selection of baked goods, jams, and other jarred items. They had several of their jams available to try as samples, and I picked up a jam as a gift.

Yelp
Adorable small country store along the Fruit Loop playing reggae music with a super friendly hippyish woman, who was very helpful tending the counter. My daughter and I took a drive to the Mt. Hood area on a beautifully clear and crisp winter day because we heard this shop had great pies and it seemed like a pie kinda day. The drive along I-84 was perfect, taking our time with a stop for a drive-thru coffee 1st, of course and only took an hour from NE Portland. We picked up a super-cute handmade apron for our nephew's birthday and some homemade berry jams and syrup. Super excited to try them out! The entire drive, though, was for the frozen, bake-at-home Marionberry Peach pie!! Seriously good!! Lastly we had to grab a cherry handpie for the drive home to split. It had the perfect pastry to filling ratio and just the correct balance of sugar. Loved it. Bathroom was small but clean. We will be back as it is worth the relaxing drive!

Yelp
The Apple Valley Country Store was one of our stops when driving the Hood River fruit loop in early October. The country store itself was pretty packed, but we made it inside and got a look at locally made aprons, jams, jerkies and soaps. The real prize at the AVCS though, was their warm pear dumpling. I waited my turn and ordered one, it was about $4 for a paper bowl filled with an aromatic perfectly baked local pear wrapped in homemade crust. There seemed to be a thin sauce poured over it, but I kind of missed that part as it was SUPER crowded. Once I paid, I took my pear and headed outside to share it with the fam. And it was...exceptional, delicious and one of a kind. I was overwhelmed at just how good it was. 100% worth the stop!

Yelp
A must visit whenever we are in the area! The food, the local art and vibe is just lovely.

Yelp
Cute little country store located on a picturesque curve along The Fruit Loop, it transports you back to simpler times. Very nostalgic. The store is filled with lots of souvenirs, country aprons and dish towels, and local food products most made with fruit of course! As well as fruit baked goods and their famous fruit milkshakes like Oregon Marionberry and Oregon Huckleberry or ice cream floats. During Covid they have set up a table out front where you can buy their pepper jellies, jams, mustards, famous apple butter, pastries, whole fruit pies, apple muffin mix, aprons, and of course order a shake. It's very no frills, order, pay, and if you would like to enjoy your snack there, they have lots of picnic tables space apart. We bought a pear dumpling to go and they packaged it nicely and included a little container of sauce. Heated up later that evening, it was delicious. To enjoy there, we sampled a blueberry lemon turnover. I think there were only 2 blueberries inside! While the blueberry lemon is a wonderful flavor combo, since the filling was nascent, it as really just pastry dough and disappointing. I'm sure I'll stop in again if we are in this road because it is a quaint and charming place and I'll give them another try.

Yelp
While making our way through the thirty file mile Hood River Fruit Loop, we made a stop here to see what all the fuss was about regarding the Huckleberry milkshakes. First thing's first- it's true, they're delicious. During COVID, the store is set up as an outdoor booth with several picnic tables spread around. You'll find cookies, hand pies, pies, milkshakes, ice cream, pie filling, jam, honey sticks and sauces for sale. Bathrooms are currently not available for safety reasons. We ended up going with the milkshake and a salted chocolate chip oat cookie. It felt like they could use some light music or a little more enthusiasm to make the experience feel a little less like a quick transaction. Maybe it was an off day for the vibe. A few of our other favorite stops along the Fruit Loop Trail included the Hood River Lavender Farm, The Gorge White House Fruit Stand and Winery, and the Old Truck Antique Shop. Enjoy your journey!

Yelp
Very simple but worth stopping in to get a handmade gift or a nice dessert or shake. Had the pear dumpling with caramel sauce drizzled on top. Yum! And bought some nicely done table top decoration for the Fall along with some pot holders.
google avatar

Jay S.

Yelp
During Covid, store is not opened to go inside. Pear dumping is warm and good. Caramel sauce is good addition. Pear is juicy and sweet. I did not add ice cream, may be next time.
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
Rude customer service and took nearly 20 min for them to make a milkshake. They also had no fresh pies and don't serve by the slice. The mom and daughter were bickering in the back while slowly making my milkshake. The huckleberry milkshake is delicious but be prepared to wait. Not many other options in the store and much nicer experience at other establishments along the fruit loop.
google avatar

Lori H.

Yelp
Always stop here while traveling the Hood River Fruit Loop! Their pies are delicious! They have a lot of samples (jams and mustards) too, so if you're not sure of your favorite flavors, you can try them first! They have various handmade and local gifts available as well. Very cute little store! Highly recommend a stop!
google avatar

Yelp
A great little hometown country store. They sell lots of homemade goods, including aprons, purses, pies, and are famous for their flavored apple butters. We come here every year during the apple festival because they have a ridiculously good BBQ special. Yum!
google avatar

Cassandra C.

Yelp
She let us sample a bacon mustard that we bought - that's how they get ya . We came for some scones or turnovers and were not disappointed. We shared 2, marionberry and peach, I think. There are a few picnic tables to relax at and the atmosphere is cozy country. She was able to easily process card payments and observed all social distancing recommendations. Cute stop! I'll be back, in the afternoon, for a milkshake.
google avatar

Gary R.

Yelp
Neat little place with homemade jellies, jams and sauces. Relaxing outdoor patio a to sit and walk by the river. Homemade milk shakes or sod ice cream floats.
google avatar

Heather S.

Yelp
The milk shake genuinely made me laugh out loud! We ordered one huckleberry and one mationberry and they were really just milk with berries. Definitely not anything I would call a milkshake ! We did grab a package of grapes which were huge , delicious and juicy! My kids slap enjoyed the honey sticks. The little store was nothing special. Mostly just jams and jellies. Free samples are definitely appreciated.
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
I love these little stores packed with tons of personal touch. They offer jams, soaps, ice cream, aprons, honey sticks, milk shakes and pies that are so amazing! It's totally worth the drive from town to see this place
google avatar

Christina B.

Yelp
Every time I'm out in Hood River I try to stop by here for the Huckleberry shake. It's a must. They also have delicious turnovers and other baked items that they make with seasonal fruits. It's off a windy road in the middle of what feels like no where, but so worth the trip.

Yelp
Just a bit off the beaten path in the Hood River Fruit Loop. After our visit a couple of weeks ago, our second to this little place, we asked ourselves "Is this really worth the trip?" The best answer is "maybe". Here's what we like... ...The pies. They are good and made on premises. (see photo) Although the limited selection of prebaked pies offered for sale by the slice or whole in the store are less baked crust than we like. Our preference is to buy a frozen pie from the big selection in their freezer and bake at home for more golden outcome. Different strokes for different folks. Favs for us are bumbleberry, peach-marionberry and vanilla pear. ...The people. Store staff are friendly and "down home". And they'll double wrap those frozen pies so they'll make the trip home in good shape. (In particular if you plan ahead and bring a cooler to tuck them in.) Also one of the frozen pies always seems to be a big hit as a hostess gift...beats the heck out of another bottle of wine. ;-) Here's what we're not so fond of... ...No inside place to have a bite. Only space is outdoor and it is pretty rustic and in inclement weather (which is frequent in the Hood River area) not usable. ...The loo. Porta potty only.(see dan h's photo) Although they get a star for making sure it is a larger, accessible porta potty so all people can use it, including people with disabilities and moms with little kids in tow. But there is something about places serving food that don't provide running water "facilities" for customers that puts us off. ...Deep gravel parking lot. It is a mess and a hazard for some people, like me, to walk through to get to their door. Really...this is a retail store, not a farm facility. Paving the parking lot would get them an extra star. Although I noted they did have one paved location next to the building for accessible parking so thumbs up to them for that! ...Jams and jellies for tasting. This is a cute country store touch, but they all seem to be teeth chatteringly sweet so all taste about the same - like sugar. ...Heavy aroma of BBQ wood smoke as you pull into the parking lot. Given the smokers are for the meat served at Apple Vally BBQ (in Parkdale) are set up here. But outside of special events, BBQ is not served here. Somehow for a place whose claim to fame is pies and jams, the smoke aroma was off putting since they don't' serve BBQ eats there. But that's just us. Our bottom line... ...Unless you're wanting to buy frozen pies, you're better off to skip the trip to Apple Valley Country Store and stop into the Apple Valley BBQ in Parkdale where you can enjoy a pie of pie (and other things) in a comfy indoor or outdoor seating space - with indoor plumbing to boot.. http://www.yelp.com/biz/apple-valley-bbq-mt-hood-parkdale-3

Yelp
Great stop on the Hood area Fruit Loop. There are a couple parking spots up front and plenty of benches and tables to take a break. Inside the store we sampled mustards and jams. They also sold honey, premade pies and ice cream. The lady at the cash register was very friendly and ready to share suggestions for the rest of your fruit loop journey. We walked out with garlic mustard (very pungent), Marion berry jam (tart, sweet, delicious) and local honey along with a fresh huckleberry shake ($5 like an ice cream shake). I recommend all of these! Jarred products were $6.50-$8 Note: The BBQ joint with a similar name is at a different location at the opposite end of Fruit Loop. Don't be confused by the giant sign here.

Yelp
Read the more current reviews of a more accurate experience to be found at the Apple Valley Country Store. As of today I learned the BBQ everyone raves about has moved away to a new location in Hood River. Hood River is seasonal - Pears and Apples at one time, cherries another, blossoms another but it's always beautiful, festive and fun to be had for those visiting. We've been coming to this stop on the Fruit Loop since they had pregnant goats in the area now occupied by new homes, parking was in the spot where there is now outdoor seating and to my knowledge the outdoor BBQ had yet to exist. The one thing that has remained the same are the fantastic pies, pie fillings, pastries, jams, jellies, syrups, sauces, dips, ice cream, shakes, soaps and other treasures awaiting all who visit. It's a quaint store with friendly folks who care about your experience. Ample samples are at every corner to help you make your choices and the bakers will offer advice once asked about baking options - fresh or frozen pies (for example). So if you're in town for the fruit loop or a seasonal festival or just driving around looking for authentic experiences in Hood River makes sure you stop in at the Apple Valley Country Store. Their friendly staff, freshly baked goods and delightful outdoor seating will have you coming back year after year.

Yelp
This is a must-stop on Fruit Loop Hood River "British hike". All the rumors are true. The cucumber jam is to dye for.... natural green calcium has many skin benefits and can even slowly turn you caucasian. I got the parsley fig shake and I must say it was a sensory delight. The natural weed flavor of parsley complements the sharpie-infused fig toast. A mighty odd bathroom, but not a complete 180 from the theme. A small Lizzo shrine is implemented into the mirror if you look close enough. (Lizzo: singer of truth hunts and Rumors). Once pottying was complete, we took the "British hike" the Fruit Loop Hood River creates stunning views from every angle. Fruit, loops, hoods, etc. There are very tedious trick or treaters that insist on a caramelized onion on the way up, you must persist as they are human traffickers(stay in your group)! If you have big lips stay away from the altitude. Big lips can actually cause the "book bowels effect". Book Bowels Effect: the smell of paper or ink having a laxative effect, the nervousness that may arise from all of the books present, the association with reading on the toilet at home, and the posture of browsing making bowel movement easier. Pretty epic! Don't miss out on this fruit loop!

Yelp
Another great time spent at the Apple Valley Country Store this year. We came on a very rainy day so unfortunately they chose not to set up their outdoor 'festival' activities, which made sense because it would have been very muddy and wet. But on the inside they still had lots of samples of jellies, plus you could buy apple butter & biscuits that were quite good. Our kids absolutely loved trying everything. We'll be back!
google avatar

Kathie s.

Yelp
Oh My how I love this store. When the kids were younger, we camped close to here and use to come here as a treat. Great milkshakes, pies, jams and, and and....so many good things. Honestly, I feel like it has not changed in 20 years. Make sure to stop by you will not be sorry

Yelp
Can only speak to the huckleberry milkshake that was advertised on the marquee, but it was the saddest milkshake I've ever had. It seemed like the person making it had never actually had a milkshake and only made it based off it's name. That is to say, it was essentially just milk with some mashed huckleberries thrown in. One should never be allowed to drink a milkshake through the straw the very moment they get it.
google avatar

Lindsay C.

Yelp
Lovely little store with fresh pies, tallamook ice cream, jams and more. Such a beautiful spot. I recommend stopping by on a sunny autumn day and sharing a pie and ice cream on a bench outside in the flower beds!
google avatar

Dan H.

Yelp
5 syllables. Huckleberry Shakes. Oh mama. BBQ out back as well, but only during special event weekends. I'm not sure what that means exactly. Check their website. Come for the BBQ (on a special event weekend), but stay for the Huckleberry Shake.
google avatar

Yelp
Apple Valley was a great stop on the "Fruit Loop" it is a country store and gift shop. I stopped in 6/23/16. When I travel I love to find that one-stop place for souvenirs and gifts. Apple Valley had great local stuff. They have tons of varieties of jams and mustards that make nice gifts. They also sell local crafts, some really nice and affordable stuff. Apple Valley sells ice cream and milkshakes. The ice cream looked amazing but I was too full to try it. I did take a piece of pie to go, peach raspberry, and it was good. At the time of our visit they were selling fresh cherries and berries. I am guessing they sell whatever is in season. The outside area is a nice place to sit and there is a nice creek next to the store. I recommend a stop at Apple Valley.
google avatar

Yelp
Serving Apple Valley Country Store pies at our Mt. Hood Organic Farms wedding in July was one of the best and smartest decisions we made in our wedding planning. People RAVED about the pies, they were beautiful, delicious (quite possibly my favorite pies I've ever tasted that weren't baked by my mom), and local, and all at a fraction of the cost of any of the other dessert options we looked into. Amy was great to work with-- put up with my numerous order changes as I tried to figure out the right number and varieties, and they even delivered, making the whole process completely stress-free.

Yelp
I love this little store. It is so quaint. I try to get there whenever visiting Hood River. Many wonderful products to take home and pies to eat anywhere. I like free samples too before decide what to buy. A real country store!!! They also have outdoor authentic BBQs. Great meats, baked beans. The works. Love to take my grandsons there because they can run around the old farm equipment and not get bored while I take my time. I really hope places like this can stay alive. It's our past and future. This whole Hood River/Parkdale area is a state treasure. Really a family treat!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Finally had to vent! After 3 years of TRYING to get a "Huckleberry Shake", they still don't have any??!!!! Seriously, have tried 3 years in a row and no huckleberries. May I suggest to remove the Huge sign that says "HUCKLEBERRY MILKSHAKES"??!!! Such false advertisement. Ridiculous.

Emily V.

Yelp
Called ahead while I was literally riding a horse to have a huckleberry pie saved. Drove 2 hours to get there to find out the owner came in and decided to take that very pie to his barbecue. Never coming here again very unprofessional and offensive. Packaged orchard not only had the most delicious huckleberry pies, but everything is delicious. I will definitely never be stopping at the apple valley county store unless it's to tell the owners how rude and inconsiderate they are.
google avatar

Ajia T.

Yelp
Can you say, "Fresh Huckleberry Milkshakes?" Okay, good. Now try, "Homemade Apple Butter." Very nice. How about, "Vanilla Pear PIe?" Well done! This place is a hidden gem, in every sense of the phrase. If you're near Hood River and have some time to kill, go here. Sample delicious jams, jellies, mustards, milkshakes, pie fillings, snacks, and other such love. You'll have a hard time picking and choosing, believe me. They even have fruit- and berry-flavored lotions and soaps. Take a pie home to bake, like Vanilla Pear or Huckleberry (my fave). Try the sugar-free stuff, it's delicious. And the bonus: everything is amazingly well-priced. If you're visiting from out of town, they'll even ship it all for you. Seriously, go here and revel in the flavors of the Hood River Valley. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Athena B.

Yelp
came here last summer for the first time and had some fresh marionberry and huckleberry milkshakes that blew us away with fresh berries! so flavorful! we had them 2 or 3 days in a row 2 or 3 per visit for our family! unfortunately we went back just this august 2017 and they seemed to not use as many fresh berries. really disappointed for $5, not sure if it was the young girl working or if they cut back but my huckleberry milkshake tasted more like vanilla ice cream. so to say i was planning on going everyday to have a milkshake and after buying 2 that day we never bought another. we did buy some jams, syrups and BBQ sauce again. so if we are ever in town again we will try the milkshakes and hope that it was a fluke or ask before we buy they do sell pies and ice cream we did not try and its a very cute store that has come honey and home made gifts and other local products. they have the apple valley bbq restaurant that we ate at and really enjoyed also!
google avatar

Yelp
Yay! What a neat place. Lots of fruit products available, including many many kinds of jams and fruit butters, syrups, bbq sauce, salad dressings....much to choose from. On our visit, there were 3 varieties of hand pies as well as individual slices for purchase and a few different kinds of cookies. There were also 4 or 5 different kinds of whole pies at $15 each and a lot more in the freezer if you'd prefer to take it home and bake there. They also have a very good selection of sugar-free jams, which we were impressed with as sugar-free can be hard to find, especially with many choices. I bought some strawberry jam (excellent), seedless marionberry jam (so good! and seedless is hard to find), spicy bbq sauce, and a blue cheese/pecan/balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing. The spicy bbq sauce is pretty spicy - next time I'll get the sweet bbq - and the dressing is a nice blend of sweet and savory. The bumbleberry pie I brought home, still warm from the oven, is very good. (Was? It's disappearing quickly.) "Bumbleberry" is a blend of 3 berries, I think blackberry, marionberry, and blueberry. The filling is thick, so the crust stays nice and flaky, not soggy. It's clear that not much sugar is added so the taste of the berries really shines through, and it's sweet enough without it. The crust is flaky, if a little bland. None of us tried a milkshake there, but it's worth noting that another customer got the marionberry milkshake when we were there and was very, very excited about it. Like stopping others in the store to tell them how good it was, that's how excited she was. There were a lot of swoony faces and sounds with this. Best milkshake she'd ever had, she said. A bit of a 2nd hand review so I'm not adding a star for it, but she was really pretty in to the thing so there you go.
google avatar

Bobby D.

Yelp
If you like huckleberries, this is the place to go for huckleberry milkshakes and pies. They also sell huckleberry jams and other huckleberry items. You can also buy other jams etc. - definitely worth the stop if doing the fruit loop! My favorite is the huckleberry milkshakes. I will be going back.
google avatar

Kat D.

Yelp
First visit to this store. They had a great selection of prebaked and frozen bake it yourself pies on hand that they prepared on site. We opted to buy a pre-baked marionberry pie and the heat it at our vacation rental (350f for 15min) the pie got more golden. Once cooled a bit PERFECT to eat a la mode! The smell of the warm pear cobbler and pear dumplings that they had on offer was to die for - smelled amazing. I checked out their premade pie/cobbler fillings - very nice looking ingredient list (simple). I look forward to sampling their cherry pie filling when I use it to make cobbler! The store is rustic - unsurprising given the age of the building. At 530pm on a Sunday there were many other people there enjoying bbq outside and picking up dessert inside. This place is on my "must stop" list from now on.

Yelp
Their food is scrumptious at all times. The whole staff is dedicated to perfection and they drive themselves to meet that goal.
google avatar

Jay C.

Yelp
I've only been to the Apple Valley Country Store during the off-season so I don't know anything about Peach Festivals or BBQs, but one thing I do know is that they have the best handmade milkshakes, preserves, and pies in town! My Mom is a Type 1 diabetic so all of their sugar free and no sugar added preserves are perfect for her. I'm pretty sure the second part of the name is "Country Store" so I don't expect paved lots, restrooms (because it's a store not an eatery), or the Big City feel that some come to expect from any place that sells things... I like the Apple Valley Country Store for its rustic feel, with the old farming equipment, the dirt lot, etc.
google avatar

Mitch M.

Yelp
great place to grab a milkshake, plenty of seating outside, really excellent jams jellies and mustards. Worth a stop!!!!
google avatar

Carol P.

Yelp
Always come here, esp on festival weekends (see website) for their yummy bbq and apple dumplings. also, produce seems to be better priced here than the earlier places we hit year after year (cherries went down 50 cents a lb from 4 to 2.5 here as we went along the loop. interesting...) fell in love with the bbq sauces and mustards and love to taste the jams.
google avatar

Michael T.

Yelp
What a great store! So many jams to choose from. They have pies that are frozen. You can get travel literature here and look are an area map of the fruit loop, if you are just traveling through the area. My favorite treat from this store are the milkshakes! The Huckleberry milkshake is great. The Pumpkin milkshake is only available in autumn. Man, it is so delicious! Parking is on gravel. It can be bumpy, especially right as you pull in off the highway. They have lovely seating outside. Don't miss this stop on the fruit loop.

ralph s.

Yelp
I come all the way from Portland just to buy their Jams and Pancake syrups They dont seem to have all the Sugar as others do and pure fruit flavor, Their Vanilla Pear jam is hands down the best so is the Syrup . Cute setting and store as well*****

Yelp
Love this place. Super cute in a beautiful area. Went in October for BBQ which was delicious. Pie was delicious as well. A great way to start our Oregon vacation. So peaceful and serene. The home made products sold at the store and great as well. They sell aprons, quilts and the like, all which are made by those who work there.
google avatar

Sally M.

Yelp
One of my favorite stops on the Fruit Loop Trail. Love that they have a lot of samples to try (jellies, mustards, nuts, etc.) and super cute household gifts. So many cute aprons! People working here were very friendly and knowledgable. I had the huckleberry shake ($5), which was thick and fruity and perfect. There is a garden area and plenty of outdoor seating. Minus one star due to prices being on the higher side.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
Pumpkin milkshakes! Go get one! Oh my, what a fun stop. Delicious samples all around of jams and jellies made right there in the store, along with a giant window full of hot pies! We enjoyed the mustards and Huckleberry Pear Grilling Sauce! A very friendly staff member was truly helpful and kind. Such a cute old country store We'll be back!

Yelp
Fun old country store to stop and try. Good Huckleberry Milkshakes ($5), lots of homemade stuff to sample, and very fair prices.

Yelp
I am a milkshake freak, I love milkshakes, can't get enough of them and specially these ones. They are made with fresh fruit, it is such a treat. I had the huckleberry and the hubby had the marionberry. The twins also had one. My little boy didn't even spill a drop. Cannot say the same about my little girl. They also have different jams, mustards, dressings and salsas. I got enough to last me for a year. Good thing I come to Hood River each summer.

Yelp
Dingy little place with lots of jams and baked goods. The scone was good, but is a little unsettling how quiet the store was. Made me question the freshness of their goods.

Yelp
This place has great merchandise but beware they charge you for items that you don't get as if their prices are not high enough!
