Applebee's Grill + Bar

We waited about 40 minutes for our food, and when it finally arrived, my wontons were dark, greasy, and swimming in oil. Our server, George, was very apologetic and kind — he handled the situation graciously without placing blame on anyone else. Unfortunately, when I spoke with the manager, Amanda, she brushed the issue off instead of addressing it properly, which came across as dismissive and unprofessional. She even commented that Michelle, the other manager who prepared the wontons, didn’t cook or store them with the paper to soak up the grease she added “Michelle came from Cheddars and is one of those people who thinks she knows it all but doesn’t know anything.” At that point, I just wanted her to stop talking so we could leave.

Upon arrival, we were seated quickly. The staff was helpful in pushing together tables for our group. Order and food delivery were relatively quick. Food was served in a reasonable time and served hot. Waiter was fairly attentive early but faded as our visit continued to the point I had to track him down to pay the bill, so minus one star. Food was good as expected.

Not sure WHAT was going on at this location! Loud table of people demanding much of the seemingly short staff here! Our food was cold and took long to arrive!! It even took about 15 min to get a glass of water!! Again not sure what the issue was, but this was probably the last visit to this restaurant chain. Seems everything is going down hill..... 1) The Food: Seems like it's been microwaved and brought out to you. 2) The Service: It just seems like nobody wants to work..short staff leads to poor service!

Went for lunch with my son. The server Renée was very good and checked on us just the right amount of times. The food was so good and prepared well. The only thing that was an issue was the temperature of the area we were sitting. I could feel cold air coming down on me. I did not ask to move because I think that’s rude. I just kept my jacket on and dealt with it. Very clean and great atmosphere. Thanks Renée!

Place in a good area close to the mall. Where you can look out the window and see the mall, and other small business. Now here the problem when we got here it look close. It was dark and very unwelcome I had to go in to see if they was still open. This was 8:45 at night they greeted me quickly that was nice. It was a slow night there so plenty of room, had us nice seats. We order which was simple we ate Applebee's all over Missouri. They short us cheese dip, our food took forever to come out on a slow night. Then they was out of yogurt for our grandchild. After almost a hour the food came. My plate was full of to much water or juice. As for My plate I couldn't not get over the swampy look. My grand daughter had no form or spoon we had to ask for it. They keep asking us over and over is everything ok and we just want to eat our food in peace. It was my girl friend birthday we wanted a nice family night out.

Pay your staff more so you can actually hire people to seat more than a dozen tables. A 20 minute wait at 7:15p when there is almost no one seated is ridiculous.

So the reason for a 2 star over all. Firstly the blue hawaian has way to much alchohol it hurts drinking it and it tastes like it wasnt properly mixed at all aka amateur bartender. Also the 12oz ribeye that came with the broccoli, the ribeye was tasty but the broccoli was over cooked almost squishy. Also the chicken came out cold for the 3 cheese pasta. Best part about this visit was our waiter. Friendly and welcoming everything else was a big "Meh."

What has happened to this place? Table was dirty/sticky. It was 1/3 of the way full and the staff were freaking out. Server yelling across the restaurant. Our server talking about being under staffed and new cooks not knowing what to do. My boys only ordered burgers and fries and the wait time was an hour. Others that came in after us were served before us. Twice we asked about the food and were told they were waiting on the cheese to melt and second time it was the fries. The burgers and fries were over salted and not made how ordered. Would love my $78 back! Doubt we'll go back 😕

The food is always good. However the "free dessert" you get for your birthday was half melted ice cream, and a tiny sliver of brownie. I remember when you would get a good sized blonde brownie, with ice cream that wasn't half melted. The server was great though. I went to Chili's bec they offer free dessert for your birthday also. The big difference was, they don't skimp on portion sizes. Their dessert was great. Get it together Applebee's.

Visited November 9th. Was double charged for a 13 dollar tip. 26 additional dollars was removed from my account. Very disappointing. Called and was refunded. Writing this review so that others are aware of this issue. Keep your receipts. The manager on duty was very friendly and did apologize.

Service was good but the mushroom and Swiss hamburger tasted like they put a whole bottle of salt on it. Yuck

One of the best experiences at an Applebee's. The hostess Reagan was absolutely friendly and great at customer service that made my experience worth coming back for if I'm ever in the Columbia area again. The food was okay. Fries are over seasoned. The drinks are good. I came here on a weekday and it was absolutely quiet which didn't bother me too much. Great staff and seasonal / promotional products.

In town with my brother and his family to visit our dad. Came over from fulton to eat. Got seated really quick, which i thought was a great sign since there were 10 of us, but it wasn't. Our server was great. She made sure drinks were full, took our order quickly, but man, the kitchen was sloooooow tonight. Ordered, and then it was an hour before we got our food. My steak was cooked well instead of medium-rare. My son's got the boneless wings, and they were cold. My wife enjoyed her wanton tacos, though. This experience is really what i should expect from any Applebee's.

Climbing Out of the COVID Shutdown Located off a well marked exit from I-70 in Colombia, MO, There is ample parking including handicap parking near the front door. With mask mandates going away business appears to be picking up. Employees and management are optional, but most all are still hanging in there for the sake of customer concerns. Staff also appears to be dealing with the change the market. Service, including staff that is experienced, are working hard to return to the higher dining room demand. After a short wait we were seated in our booth. Our server was dealing well with the fuller dining room, but I did have to ask for salt a couple of times before it was actually brought to the table. My Prime Rib Dip was very flavorful, tender, and not a bit stringy. But it was a bit over cooked and needed the ad ju to make up for the dryness. I pointed it out to the manager who stopped by our booth and he apologized, That said, I would order it again if in the area. Prices were within that expected. The other concern was that they should have worked a bit harder on deferred maintenance to the building during the lock down. I have had mixed experiences with Applebee's in recent years, but would easily give this one another try in the future.

I took my grandma here for her eighty-ninth birthday and when they were singing "happy birthday" to her they gave her a lap dance.

Food was cold when it was served and had to send back multiple plates to be recooked. overall bad experience

Everything about this was horrible. Service, slow to negligent, food even worse and ambiance even worse. Restaurant empty for a reason and it still manages to feel loud than it needed to be.

Probably one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! The CartoGo service was quick and the delivery lady was very nice!

Disappointed, Artichoke dip was burnt and chips were so salty. Then my Oriental chicken salad was old, soggy and brown. My husband's burger was still raw in the center. Explosive Diarrhea

Service was slow, food even worse. Restaurant was dirty, rice was undercooked. I won't go back to this location.

HANDS DOWN, the best spinach dip I have had. Just the right consistency and creaminess. I really enjoy their drink specials for the holidays and especially summer. My bestie always says " you always going to applebees". Yea I am, the drinks hit differently. Its cheap and good!!

An all time favorite, always just the right combination of great food and beverages. Tonight was the half slab of ribs with honey bbq sauce, garlicky green beans, and the berry-delicious margarita-like, Dracula Juice!. Omg, they need to make this a regular option. It was so good. Fabulous service as well.

Been here before. Never this bad. Used to work at an Applebee's, years and years ago. A lot has changed. I'll never go to an Applebee's again. Here's why : Took the wife and our twin teenagers. I understand it was 7:30pm on a Sunday, but here's an idea...try. Hostess didn't smile and seated us with a mild disdain for life. Server was, oh how do I put this? Obnoxious. Clearly a college kid, which in itself wasn't the problem. Nothing against college kids. This one? Different story. She greeted our table by saying "have you been waiting long?" Both of my kids replied with "no we haven't, it's ok." She stood there for what seemed an eternity STARING at me, awaiting a response. So I finally said "no, like they said, we're fine". Placed our orders and waited for our apps. Manager ran out our apps with NO app plates and then asked us if we wanted app plates. Yeah, sure, ran back there and get em. Really? Bring them with you, and if we don't want them we'll tell you. Smh While waiting for our entrees, I was telling my kids a story about something and the server completely stops me in the middle of talking and says "sorry I'm eavesdropping..I think what you're saying isn't correct..sorry for eavesdropping" and then stood there staring at me. First off all, F off. Second, mind your business. Third, I'm with my friggin family. Can we have the freedom to engage in conversation without you completely interrupting? Maybe? Cool, thanks. My son had the riblets and was never even offered extra napkins. Kind of a no brainer to anyone who's ever eaten ribs. Wife and daughter had the chicken with potatoes. Huge pile of half cooked onions on the plate. I mean, a HUGE pile. Chicken was dry, as the potatoes. Drinks weren't refilled in a timely manner. Servers were vacuuming right next to us. Like, really? You don't close for hours. Wait until we're gone. Another thing...since when did Applebee's think their food was so fucking amazing that they get to charge over $10.00 for most plates? I could have gotten full, for 1/4 of the cost and had better service at the Taco Bell next door. I asked for the check and she said "you can pay with the kiosk on the table." Oh ok, my bad, sister. I thought this was your job. Also, I don't work here. I went to swipe my card on the kiosk. Battery dead. Waited another 5 minutes then went all over the restaurant to find a manager, that had no name tag on. I only knew he was a" manager" because I saw him exiting the kitchen. She brings my check and sets it RIGHT NEXT TO my credit card. Right...next...to it. Hello? Clearly I'm ready to pay. Just take my card already! No one asked us if we enjoyed it. Lucky for them. I asked for ketchup, seeing as how I ordered a fucking cheeseburger with fries. She brought me 2 nearly empty bottles and actually said these words: "these are on their last leg so there ya go, hopefully that'll be enough for you." Wow. Thanks. I think. One bottle leaked everywhere when I opened it and the other one had barbeque sauce CAKED allllll over the cap. What the fuck dude? How disgusting is that? Be a professional. Do your job. Have a brain. This isn't that hard. $55.00 for a light late supper with the fam, and this is what I get. Do yourself a favor. Don't go this Applebee's. Don't go to Applebee's anywhere for all I care. However, if you like sub standard service, obnoxious and rude servers, managers who don't care about their guest's experience and like shitty food, then this is the place for you. Have fun here and sanitize yourself upon leaving and eating your shitty meal. Update to this post: Later that night I woke up at 1am for an hour with explosive diarrhea.

The young at the door was pleasant and our waitress,Ms Katilyn was kind. Both managers need to receive some customer service training. Our order was simple. My son ordered fries and cheese sticks barely warm, I had a grilled chicken Cesar salad that was drowning in dressing and fries that were also barely warm. My husband had a full order of ribs. The only good thing about them was the Asian BBQ sauce. My bill was $63.17. Now I understand way the line at Taco Bell was wrapped around the building. That's were I should have eaten. I didn't know we had to request customer service and HOT FRIES! . I guess it's like this because of COVID.

The food was unpresentable, burger patties were of vastly different sizes in the double cheeseburger, but the flavor wasn't too bad, hardly any fries. The cheese with the pretzel sticks is literally canned alfredo sauce, not beer cheese. The service was nice so I'm giving two starts.

Today we had take out delivered from your neighborhood grille Applebee's Grill & Bar in columbia. We used doordash to place the order and i must say i appreciate the added effort put into their menu design. i have previously worked with food delivery services and there are many steps that other chain restaurants did not have. For example i ordered park shrimp and steak. when placing my order it asked how i wanted my steak cooked with degree choices such as "medium-rare hot inside" which is how I prefer my steaks. And when choosing my sides i ordered salad and broccoli,of which another restaurant advertised but did not have. THEN THERE WAS AN OPTION TO ADD CHEESE TO THE BROCCOLI! I did not take because i'm in diet but the fact that it was part of the menu was awesome. The steak was so tender i finished my last bite in last fifteen minutes of the movie and it was still juicy. And honestly all the rest of the food was great as well! I had been avoiding ordering because their frequently changed menu which most of the time wasn't good flavor wise. But tonight they have been redeemed. Extremely rude for absolutely no reason. Maybe don't work in food business if you can't give basic customer service. Not even asking for much at this point, just a friendly demeanor and understanding. Girls at the bar were lovely though, shout out to them for being the true workers.

DO NOT TRUST JOHN S!!!! I am a Beez' expert and have been to this particular location MANY TIMES. The food is always of standard Applebees quality. The service is ALWAYS like the classic Sylvester Stalone movie. OVER THE TOP! Truly an outstanding group of young people who always provide great service. Tyler, our very nice server, hooked me up with the all you can eat wings when I tried to order wings with fries on the side LIKE A FOOL. Instead Tyler came in clutch saving me money and getting me INFINITELY MORE WINGS. Also he was on those refills like his arms were MADE OF DRINKS. Thanks, Ty Guy. And, hey--don't worry about lunch tomorrrow, these portions are MAD generous. Truly, a spectacular Applebeez.

Giving two stars because the lady who brought my food was nice. Fries were cold and rock hard. Had to have been hours old. Wrap was falling apart. Waste of money. I should have known when it was 6pm and there were no cars in parking lot that there was a reason. Wasted $15 :-(

Been a long time since I visited the local AppleBee's. Usually a big fan and know what I want to eat every time. Except this location has some issues. Waitress offered a perfect margarita as a special and of course I ordered one. 35 mins later when the food came out I still had not received my drink. Beyond that the steak was subpar. The waitress seemed very stressed she was trying. The table next to me waited another 20 mins for one of their orders that was messed up in the kitchen. Needless to say I did not have a perfect margarita they did take it off my bill. Probably would visit one of many other restaurants near by.

Okay here goes. Worst meal at a restaurant EVER. We wanted to go to Texas roadhouse but the wait was an hour however we noticed the Applebee's parking lot had hardly any cars in it. We were soon to learn why. We got seated just fine and the hostess did just fine. A few minutes latter our waitress showed up. Right off the bat I noticed something wasn't right she was swinging her arms and fidgeting relentlessly and had trouble paying attention to even get our order. She brought me a glass of tea and had asked me do I want sweetener and I said yes and then she never brought the sweetener and had to be reminded twice. Finally I got a sweetener in 15 minutes into the meal I had a drink of tea. My wife ordered a couple glasses of wine the bartender did perfectly fine getting those out quickly to us. Our appetizer came out and it was very good. Here's where the real story starts.My wife steak came out and was cooked extremely well done, even though she asked for medium rare. We finally found a waitress after 10 minutes of waiting for her and had her ask for a new steak. On her way back to the kitchen she met one of her friends and continue to chat for another 10 minutes with one of her friends at another table until I ask her did you take my order back to the kitchen at that point she said she had forgotten. My meal, ribs, came out and had the wrong side on it and we informed her to correct it of which I'm not sure That ever did happen because the moment I took a bite of the ribs I found out it was very old meat they were very cold and were absolutely so dry I could not actually swallow them and had to leave the building coughing and spitting Trying to clear my throat. We waited 40 minutes for these to show up. At that point I did not go back in the building and it still took my wife another 20 minutes to get her replacement steak which was still cooked completely through and not edible. The waitress never did check that the steaks work cooked correctly either time. And seem to have no desire or dedication to actually being our waitress. This meal cost is $46 of which I eat exactly none. There was no manager on site that we could find. And I have to say for a Father's Day meal or any meal likewise this was definitely the worst meal I have ever had at any restaurant. I spent part of my life earning a living part time as a server on top of my normal military career. What I saw in this location was an excusable for even the worst of greasy spoons. Columbia Missouri Stadium location.

Don't go there. This is the third time I've visited this particular restaurant and the third time I've been disappointed. Our server was sweet and obviously overwhelmed. She brought our drinks and appetizer, but forgot to take our orders. While we waited, I decided to go wash my hands. One look at the bathroom and I turned right back around. The server finally remembered us after we had finished our drinks and appetizer. When we finally got our meals, the entrees were great, but the sides were cold. To top it off, we were each charged $50 for what was clearly advertised on the menu for $19.99. When we objected, the manager blamed her server and only offered to reduce the bill to $23.99 per plate. After everything else that had happened, we said fine just so that we could escape the place. Won't be returning, even though it's only 5 miles from our house.

The food is your regular Applebee's food, which I generally enjoy, but the service left much to be desired. I don't know the waitress's name, but she was clearly ready to be off shift and made no point to hide it. Considering I went on a slow Sunday and with a small group, but we waited far too long on our food. Then she only came by the table three times at most (including when she brought the check to us in a sauce covered check holder), and other staff members ended up clearing the table and checking on us. The food was pretty good, but the low rating is for the poor service. Next time I'll just go to a different location.

Fuck it. I like Applebees. So what. I've been to them all over the place. It made me love steak. My heart love Applebees for that. So I review Applebees just for being Applebees. What Applebees should have, should be. It should have energy, crap stapled to the wall, steak and burgers and beer. My last outing here was during an All-You-Can eat ribs promotion. The service was great, the ribs incredible and the Killians perfect. I couldn't ask for more. I strong 4 stars in the Applebees world

Good service and atmosphere. Playlist is always on point. Food is good, but everything has an unbelievable amount of calories. Their drinks are suspect, don't ever order a bloody mary from here unless you want to pay $6 for a glass of puréed ketchup.

Ordered car side. Went in to pay for it and had to wait over 25 minutes to get my order that I placed online before I left the house. Went to grocery store to get milk and still had to wait 25 minutes. Asked them if they had my extra dressing for my salad in the bag and was told yes. Got home and there was no dressing on the salad or extra dressing in the bag. Had to drive back up to the restaurant and all they said was a very badly voiced sorry. Very disappointed in the customer service. This is the second time I have recieved poor service and I am a visitor to Columbia about 5 times a year. Probably won't choose this restaurant again.

We continually frequent this Applebee's for the excellent service. Andrew was our waiter/bartender and he always provides excellent service to me & my spouse. Very please with the excellent service & the food. Thank you.

Everytime i come to this apple bees the service is terrible n food not good compared to east broadway im always sending something back. Management not so great! When they dont know answers they just say no instead of asking e.g. can i have buffalo wings waitress says we dont have those and then states shes new after pressuring her she finally a sk someone. Not satisfied wont eat at this location again.

Very disappointed. They've discontinued the best thing on their menu, the cheeseburger egg rolls. Will not be going back til they reright this injustice and bring them back!

This place is awesome! They totally revamped their menu! The dessert shots looked yummy! The waiter was fast & efficient. He even apologized why I waited long for him to take my order.

I've eaten at plenty of Applebees before, and this was some of the most disappointing service I've ever encountered. The odd thing was that our waitress was the only thing that contributed to the negative part of the experience. The hostesses, food (once the correct item was brought the our table), and atmosphere were all great. Her flippant behavior left such a bad taste in our mouths that this place gets a big "thumbs down." It's a chain, try to maintain your reputation with your waitstaff.

Avoid this place at all cost! We stopped in for lunch. I ordered the southwestern steak salad which looked nothing like the picture. The steak was very chewy. My daughter's salmon tasted very chemically. They brought her a piece of chicken didn't taste any better. The manager was nice and took it off the bill, but the food was really bad.

I was there Wed. 9th of Sept. I ordered the Chicken Quesadilla appetizer at 1:57pm. Appetizers are half-off after 2pm. The waitress rang in my order at 1:58pm so I had to pay full price. That would've been OK if the food had been 100% there. There was one tiny piece of chicken in each of the six sections the quesadilla was cut into. There was barely any cheese on any of the pieces, and no cheese towards the 'outer' edge. Four dollars would've been a high price for what I received, let alone the eight dollars I was stuck with having to pay. The waitress was by once, before I had the chance to eat anything, to make sure I received my food, I suppose. No refills on tea. No glances in my direction. I suppose I could've waved my arms and yelled to get her attention, or got up and gone over in person. When the waitress (bartender, actually) finally left the bill it was too late to do anything. I did leave her a dollar, which people who wait tables will bitch about. Let them. I was very, very disappointed in this Applebees. But, this one (over by the Mall) has been bad since they "redecorated" months ago. I normally go to the one off of Highway 63, over by the HyVee/Lowes/Sams/Walmart strip. I won't be making the same mistake twice.

Have always had a delightful experience at this Applebees, Last time I went I got the Philly and it wasn't good, the manager refunded it and gave me another meal, he was extremely nice and I will definitely be returning!!!
