Omg got the big steak no steak add spinach, shrimp take away the cheddar cheese at Colby, Jack or Mexican came hot best I ever had I got a strawberry cheesecake pancakes I have no complaints thank you Byron manager Thank you Nya. The person who run up my order.

Cassandra and Rena were the best host we’ve had this was our first time dinning at the Detroit Applebees and they made our experience a 10/10 they had very friendly and extremely nice customers service and made sure our food was made correctly, and made sure that our every need was accommodated and had everything come out fresh and in a very quick fast paste. We will definitely be coming back again very good experience thanks to them two young lady’s

Amazing service from our superb server Noah was the best part of the dinner experience. We are visiting from Arizona and I have never had service like his before. Thank you for making us feel like home.

I frequent here with my daughters and we love the service we receive. I have a good time because I can eat and drink good! There is space for mid size parties and Bryon is always accommodating. Our girl Kree the bartender is stellar and it’s always a breath of fresh air to see her face when we walk in. Kree always remembers my exact order… even if I don’t come for weeks! Did I mention the drinks are fantastic! Bryon goes above and beyond and always with a smile on his face!!!

The bar tender was amazing she exceeded our expectations as far as drinks and customer service. The food (as you can see) was great and the vibe of the restaurant was a little dull until me and my friends arrived. We will definitely be back.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! The restaurant was dirty; I found multiple short curly hairs in my soup, maybe from the downtown area on the human body if you know what I mean. NEVER GO HERE EVER!!! I think I have food poisoning also. If I could give it less than 1 star I would!!

I placed a carry out order for the 4 cheese tender Mac n cheese. When I got my order it was cold the noddles were very dry and the chicken barely had any sauce on it. Its very disappointing to have spent $18 on an order that wasn't even made correctly.

I'm not very happy no one came to take our order after sitting for several minutes. I get it your only thing in hotel but this is sad!!!

It has been an awhile since I have taken in an Applebee's. This one is downtown Detroit, across from General Motors. Sat at the bar and ordered a draft cider. Nice tall one, glass was nicely chilled and the cider was crisp. Ordered the four cheese Mac & Cheese topped with honey pepper sauce covered fried chicken tenders. I got three ok sized chicken tenders, very crispy and hot with an ok amount of honey pepper sauce. I like things drowning in sauce, so would have liked to have seen more. But it was balanced. Taste was good, noodles had sat a little before the cheese sauce covered them since some of the noodles were hard rubbery feeling. I will say it was what I expected out of my visit. Nothing outstanding but also nothing wrong. Service was a little slow but they were for sure not even close to being busy. I would go back, folks were nice but need to do a little more attention to folks walking in.

Clean, fast service. The food was average. Just what you would expect from a well run Applebees.

Cassandra provides excellent customer relations. She was able to take care of my complainant with a smile and wonderful personality. Managers like her, keep customers coming back again and again.

Be aware of this location there a server (Sydney) that is stealing from the customers. She will change the tip amount to satisfied her. I left a $5.00 tip and she change the amount to $8.00. The manager (Brandon) is aware and makes excuses for her behavior. He stated she will be on the schedule to work the bar area on particular days. I dont know if its due to shortage in staff why she still works there. But I been told by another employee that Sydney does this a lot to customers that have complain and still nothing has been done. I reach out to corporate (Edward Fox) and has inform him of this employee and manager behavior. DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT OR DEBIT CARD TO SYDNEY. SHE WILL STEAL MONEY FROM YOU.

I'd actually rate this a 0 if I could. First, I walked in with a friend of mine and we waited at the host stand for ten minutes before he came up to help us. As we were there a mother with three children also came up and had to wait. Finally when we were about to get sat, the waiter was walking us to the table then said "oh hold on" and proceeded to walk away for a few minutes leaving us in the middle of the restaurant. FINALLY, when we got sat, the waitress took over 10 minutes to come over (it's dead in here) when she did, we placed our order and she told us it would be 10 minutes..... well it took 25. Food was okay. The host was carrying a full tray that he obviously couldn't handle carrying and dropped it right next to a table near us and a drunk flew all over some poor woman. Definitely DO NOT GO HERE.

Convenient spot I was staying at the Marriott Renaissance it's right across the street. Now honestly I have not eaten at an apple bees in ages but I'm gonna be honest their wings were the best I have eaten in some time. I know this is coming from a foodie but seriously the wings were bomb. My server was so sweat and nice. The place could use a douse of a thorough cleaning but I enjoyed the meal!

You will never catch me at an Applebees. I never eat there, but this time, I was staying across the street at the RenCen for a Law School conference and a group and us went to eat there. The restaurant was quiet. We were seated quickly, and served even quicker. I ordered the chicken bacon ranch sandwich, topped with pepper Jack cheese, with a side of broccoli. Everything was great. The food was making me rethink my stance on eating at Applebees more often, lol. The service was good. The waitress name was Dominique, and she was very helpful to our whole party. She recommended that I put pepper jack in the burger, and I lover hearing what employees enjoy at restaurants. Especially when it comes to the dishes I am getting. Overall, I enjoyed the food and my experience at this location. If I was to ever be in the area another time, I would eat there again.

Didn't even get to try the food! The waiter said it was about a 10-15 minute wait. I was waiting for about 40 minutes, and she made the waitlist in crayon and it wasn't even busy! This place and their service sucks! Don't come here unless you want to order a casket for dinner because you'll die from old age waiting for that too!.

We had a large family group with a couple little ones, and this IHOP / Applebees tucked into the Courtyard Marriott downtown Detroit across from the Renaissance Center was just the place for friendly service. It wasn't crowded, or loud on this early Saturday afternoon, and the space was clean and well appointed. Demetrius, our server was kind, patient and balanced. He returned again and again to check in on us, and to give a friendly word. It made it easy to forgive a missing item or two as sometimes happens with big orders where folks rethink and change up just after submitting theirs! My coffee was hot and fresh. Shout out for the terrific Tortilla Soup too! I'd return here, especially with little ones.

Ms. Clara(pictured left) was the first person who greeted me. She is literally a ray of sunshine! She's very welcoming and full of positive vibes! Definitely needed that and she made my morning wonderful! Thank you so much Ms. Clara! Eating good in the neighborhood of Applebee's, D'Asia (pictured right) was my server. She was sweet and friendly with a great smile on her face! I ordered the top sirloin with mashed potatoes and green beans, along with a glass of orange juice. Food came out quick and was delicious! Thank you Applebee's Detroit!

For some reason this particular location has a slightly different menu and everything is marked up more than it usually is. I only noticed this because we get the same thing at every Applebees we go to. Our first red flag was a group of 5 people walking out as we were waiting to be seated. The group of 5 walked out upset because "they don't have any food" . We ignored their commentary and still decided to sit down and give it a try. Waited 10 min without being acknowledged/ no one took our drinks order. After looking through the very limited menu and given the pricing- we got up and left . As we were walking out we noticed all the staff in the front chit chatting and taking shots. Unprofessional and rude given that we had been waiting to at least be acknowledged and given some drinks. Never again.

The service at Applebee's was fairly good, especially for a larger party of eight. Our server paid attention, quickly taking drink and appetizer orders, and made sure we never waited long for anything. Despite our big group, orders were accurate and delivered relatively quickly, with checks on refills and special requests handled well. The server's friendly demeanor created a welcoming atmosphere, and their attention to detail didn't go unnoticed. With dishes served hot and timed perfectly, they managed to keep everyone satisfied. Overall, the experience was smooth and enjoyable, making it an easy choice for future group outings.

We have been sitting here for 50 minutes, got our drinks and the waitress just brought silverware. No salad, no meal nothing!! This service SUCKS!!!

the food i ordered was fine but i never got my smoothie that i was really wanting. The food was fine i guess but it could use more flavor. Two stars

Added us to the waitlist at 9pm, said it would be about 30-35 mins. 45 mins later, no update, so we walk up to the stand and ask for an update on our table. She says she'll go check, leaves, and doesn't return. A little after 10 we're still waiting, a guy comes out and says they're closed. We say we were on the list for an hour, he also says he will go check, leaves and doesn't return. Very disappointed, ended up just doordashing to the room, which was difficult on its own as after 10 there aren't many places open.

Stopped in after walking around downtown Detroit looking for a breakfast spot. I usually avoid restaurants that are located in hotels. Today was a pleasant surprise at this Applebee's/IHOP. I was greeted immediately upon walking in, even though the manager was helping about her employee. My server, Cindee was great. Very pleasant, smiling, at 7:30 am, even after working a closing shift the previous night. The steak omelet was very flavorful and more than enough for breakfast. The most enjoyable part, aside from the omelet, was large staff. They actually worked well together and seemed to enjoy being together. A rare find in today's service field.

I needed a place to work on my computer, and most of the places did not have dining in due to covid, but the restrictions were just reduced, and Applebee's was open. I asked to sit somewhere where there was electrical power, but I must have had a new girl because even though there was a plug, they were not powered (I didn't find this out for 90 minutes, and then the experienced workers said "Those plugs don't work...use these at the bar") So at the end of the day it all worked out. The other downside is they do not have their own bathroom. Have to use the hotel bathroom. I had to wait for the entire Delta airlines crew to check in before I could get the bathroom key :-(

Just like went there today the ribs tasted like they were expired. There was no meat, and then the service was awful.

We are here now ! And our waitress was great lady but the girls seating ppl are horrible! They act like they do not want to work today ! Like we walked up and it was 3 of them, and another employee had to tell them to wait on us ! And then one proceed to say ( with an eye roll) you need a seat and we are like ummm yeah !!! And she took us to the booth. No customer service AT ALL

Ok so this is how they set our table for a group of 8. Bar style facing a wall. How this is ok. Idk. The host was clueless. Baddddddd just bad. P.s. they apparently also don't use the app.

Come in for breakfast, lunch or dinner anytime of the day!! $3 mimosas are a steal!! They even have a huge tasty Frozen Shark Bowl drink!! New Fashion cocktail is by far my favorite. They offer quite a few local beers as well! Cedar Salmon and 3 Cheese Penne never disappoint !!

1st let me say that the greeting I got was unusually friendly. Our server - and one of the cooks who came out were so accommodating and said they really values our business. They let us order even though we were 20 mins from closing. Everything else in the safe area around the hotels were closed already. The food came quick and was consistent with my other experience with Applebee's. The beer selection was good and reasonable priced. I had a burger and fries - which was cooked perfectly. A lot of people roast this Applebee's- but that was not my experience. Maybe if you're there on the wrong day it would be different? I don't know.

We stayed at the Marriott for the first time after a lions game! We decided to head down to the Applebees for dinner but unfortunately we had the worst experience. We all have worked in the service industry so we always try to be understanding but there wasn't room for the service to be so bad. We were one of two tables sitting - the previous had been there awhile - we didn't get our drinks (just water & pop) until about 10 minutes after our apps came out. We had to ask another server and when they still didn't come tried to go to the bar to ask for drinks. A third table sat shortly after and they were never greeted so we eventually let them know they might want to go to the bar. Our server was at the table behind us sneaking shots and talking with the guys and bringing them drinks after drinks while neglecting us and not even acknowledging the third table. Eventually our food came out and one of our dishes was cold but she never came back to ask about it. We had to ask 3 times for the check to only have to get up again and ask the bartender. The third table guests who moved had already eaten and had a few rounds so at least they got better service after moving! Moral of the story is: please if you're going to do shots with a table right behind us at least have the decency to check on your other tables as we can see you blatantly ignoring us

Maaaaaan listen this is the worse Applebee's I ever been to in my life.. it took us about a damn hour to get water and our drinks but first.... we got out food prior to our water and drinks they brought out some cold ass chicken Alfredo the ribs was tough and cold the chicken was cold we did tell them about it it was a very upsetting experience

In general we like Applebee's, I know, it's not gourmet dining, but it's good food at a good price. This Applebee's has some of the best staff we've ever experienced. Yolanda, our server, was informative, efficient, friendly and checked in just the right amount of times to make sure everything was fine. The manager, a vivacious young woman, whose name escapes me, was very friendly and checked on us more than once in addition to Yolanda's check ins. This is also the only Applebee's that is also an IHOP in the U.S (we were told by staff). The bartender also knows how to pour a beer correctly into a clean glass. The local beers on tap were of a good variety and from 5 breweries, I believe. Food was good as expected.

I've been here four different times so I think I've felt it out enough to say just go somewhere else. Detroit has a great restaurant scene. I've made the mistake of coming here out of convenience. Applebee's and IHOP aren't known for good food, it's just very, VERY mediocre. The menu is limited, which is weird because it is a full size restaurant. Service has been bizarre each time. Taking 20 minutes to get a non-alcoholic drink on a slow night. The servers feel uncomfortable which makes the whole dining experience uncomfortable. Food times took forever, it's rare they come to the table to check on you, it's just a bad experience. I'm not totally sure if all chain restaurants are like this but man, it's bad. For the price you could enjoy so many other delicious places in Detroit that don't give you a side of awkwardness or forget they sat you.

We love Nicole! The absolute best bartender! Awesome customer service. We got at least once a week for happy hour. Always makes the best drinks! Highly recommend coming here!

I've read the reviews, and think it's important to recognize the two-star reviews are about inside service. I don't know anything about that. I'm staying at the hotel, and tonight ordered dinner to go. Lorenzo took my order and was great. Knowledgeable about the menu, professional, super pleasant, very positive energy. And look, I'm from Northern California and have eaten some damn good food. Usually clean, fresh, natural, pro-vegetable, blah blah blah. When considering the restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, I'd say Applebee's shows up. Tonight I ordered French onion soup, a steak (medium), broccoli, and mashed potatoes. The soup had nicely cooked down onions, a rich broth, croutons. The steak was actually medium, and attractively grilled. The broccoli was bright green and lightly salted. The mashed potatoes were in fact proper mashed potatoes, not too rich, with good texture and bits of red skin. The gravy was thin which I liked, not greasy and part A1 (I'm not mad about that). I'd order food again, and can't really think of any reason you shouldn't at least get something to go.

Very poor service waited for over an hour and a half then was seated to waited even longer ended up walking out with out food ! Throw up was also all over the bathroom floor .

Smaller menu as it is also an IHOP. Sunday night crowd made it difficult to get a seat in front of football but they made it happen... (Please don't ever seat me in the corner booth facing a wall, EVER!... especially on a Sunday during Football) The Host was def not the Most but our server Lorenzo was on top of his game! Boneless hot wings, caesar salad, bacon burger and Fiesta Lime Chix(for 2!) All good, hot and tasty!! Thank you

OMG!!!! The worst applebees on the planet for service! I hate to taste the food too. Never stepping foot in here again. This should be one of the locations they close! I walked in, sat down at a disgusting dirty sticky table. I sat for nearly 25 minutes waiting for a waitress despite telling someone 2 times. I finally had to leave. I can't remember the last time I've had service so bad. When i confess back on business...... never again. I would give a ZERO.....0.... if help had one

Went here for lunch and never got seated. We sat ourselves and the tables were all dirty, asked the waitress if she was going to clean the table and she said no. Then she told us she was mean mugging us because we sat ourselves. We got up and left! Do not recommend this Applebee's establishment.

Service was good but the food was not so much. Fries had obviously been prepared long before I arrived. They were room temperature and dried out. Burger wasn't particularly hot. Bacon had that congealed fat on it from sitting at cool temperature for hours. Convenient if you're staying in the hotel, but walk across the sky bridge and take advantage of the food court in the GM building.

I don't come to Applebee's that often. I'm in Detroit for a football game on thanksgiving. I stopped in Applebee's on the way back to our hotel for a couple of drinks. We were served by the most sweet heart of bartenders. Her name is Nicole. Ask for her! She will definitely give exceptional service!!!

It's unfortunate for the Marriott that this restaurant is in such close capacity to the hotel. There is no connection (we asked) and I would recommend the hotel. This Applebee's, though, was the absolute worst experience I have had. My brother & I were charged for food & drink that they made mistakes on & we asked to correct. They did fix this before we left, but the staff was absolutely awful. Our waiter threw his coworker under the bus when he came to our table. We also observed many people being treated rudely by the staff. Many patrons just got up & left in our time there. The staff seemed put out by any request or that they had to do their jobs & they were talking crap amongst each other & toward each other regarding personal issues. It was awful. The food was okay, but honestly... don't waste your time.

The food was okay but the service was slow we waited 20 minutes before our waiter came. She admitted that she forgot about us even though it was well past the crazy lunch rush and there wasn't too many people in the restaurant. She apologized and pushed our food out quickly. When we got our food we had to wait 5 minutes for silverware. Like I said the food was okay but if you do plan to eat here expect to be here for quite some time.

Beware - YELP says they are open until 12am. But they stop serving food at 11:15am. I was told that the bar is open until 12am, but the kitchen closes at 11:15am. I asked why Yelp says they are open during hours they are not, and the very kind but clueless server just said ,"We call last call 11:15am." I hope Yelp updates this info.

The team here really seems to enjoy eachother but the service is awful. Have been waiting for service for 10 minutes while the bartender watched a video on her phone.

In the hotel. It's an IHOP too so it has a bar and a coffee bar. I like the Detroit themed decor, Caramel Latte and big steak omelette were great.

My partner and I stayed here at the Marriott and decided to have dinner the first night we were there. Fortunately, Applebee's had a promotion that if you buy a $50 gift card, you get a $10 bonus card, so we decided to purchase it. We were the first customer to purchase the gift card, and Autumn, our waiter, was delighted to help us. She was the only waiter in the lounge area and was amazing! She was patient, genuinely happy and checked up on us regularly. The food came out in a timely manner. It was hot and tasty. It was a positive and delicious experience for us that we decided to return the second time. Once again, Autumn delivered! She had a huge party to tend to prior to us but still gave us the same, positive experience. They were short staffed, but Autumn didn't complain and continued providing great service to her customers. Fortunately, she had some great assistance from her cohorts who had other responsibilities. I agree with the other reviews about how the corporate can improve on the staffing. Hard working people, like Autumn, deserves the recognition and incentives for her deliverance in bringing business to the company. Thank you, Autumn!
