Applebee's Grill + Bar

Our granddaughter wanted Applebee’s for dinner, and when she’s with us, she always gets what she wants. I haven’t eaten at Applebee’s in probably over 10 years, and I have to say—I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, and our server was kind and friendly. That said, there were a few small misses in terms of dining etiquette that kept the experience from being excellent. With just a little more attention to detail, the service could have really gone to the next level. I realize Applebee’s isn’t a five-star restaurant, and what the server lacked in polish she definitely made up for with her personality. Still, to give an example: we ordered dessert and coffee. The coffee arrived without a spoon to stir in cream and sugar. When we asked for one, we didn’t receive it until the dessert was brought out. I ended up using a knife to stir in the meantime. These are minor details, of course, but they’re the kind of small touches that can really elevate the guest experience.

This Applebee's has been here for many, many years. I have eaten here numerous times and have never had a bad meal. They make you feel welcome by holding the door open for you. You are then promptly seated and provided a menu. The wait staff is always kind, friendly and accommodating. During the warm weather, outside seating is available. I highly recommend this Applebee's for a pleasant time and a great meal. There is plenty of free parking surrounding the restaurant.

Ordered carry out, scheduled it for a 5:30 pickup, the receipt says it was ready at 5:10, 20 minutes way too early. By the time I got home, most of the food was cold. I do takeout whenever I come here and never had this problem, very disappointed.

Excellent service, food was delicious, fast. Waitress attentive, organized. Will definitely come back. I ordered the honey glazed bbq ribs, which was so delicious!’ Also I noted they changed the recipe of mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Its 1000x much better than before. So good!! My wife’s steak was also good and my daughter’s pasta alfredo sd well. Kudos to the chef and kudos to the company.

Really disappointed. For 10+ years I've always ordered the Oriental chicken salad to-go. It used to come in a big square take out container so full I could never finish it all. The chicken used to be really good too. Now it costs more, comes in a much smaller oval container and the chicken is not as good. And they don't even give you a full container of dressing...you used to get two containers! Same with the side of garlic mashed potatoes. They're not as good as they were and the container is only half full. It's not worth the cost anymore, you'll see what I mean if you order. Maybe it's a different experience if you eat in the restaurant but I'll be ordering to-go from Acasia going forward...they have a great menu with nice size portions and decent prices.

It was okay. We were seated quickly, but it took a while to get service. Our sever was very nice and the order was 100% correct. Unfortunately there was a group next to us where every kid had a phone or tablet watching stuff at high volume. I felt bad for the staff because they left such a mess.

Giving it 2 stars because the service is amazing. Sadly, the food is bad compared to other Applebee's I've tried. The buffalo wings are extremely salty (tried them in two different occasions) The steak was bland. Service is amazing though. Everyone there has been really nice

All 4 of us had a different special. I was 1/2 of the 2 for $24 special and it came with an appetizer for 2 (we got spinach dip with nachos and it was very good). For $5 extra you can "upgrade" your meal and I got the grilled chicken & shrimp. Came with sautéed onions and mashed potatoes. There was a very large portion of potatoes, but I was surprised how small the serving was of the actual entree. The piece of chicken was thin and small. It's rare that I don't have leftovers when I eat out. In fact, I can't even remember the last time. If the special was $12 each meal + my $5 upgrade = $17 and it didn't include soup or salad, but a shared appetizer. Yes, it was a special and maybe I should have expected less, but the price wasn't THAT special! I would never order another special from there and will spend a few dollars more for the soup/salad and regular size meal. We each got dessert. The brownie bites looked good, but very small. Think they're meant to be, though. Two people got the butter pecan blonde with ice cream & caramel. They both looked great and they were happy with their order. Everything had vanilla ice cream, which i don't like, and no other flavors, so I got the mini cinnamon rolls with cream cheese type sauce for dipping. It was delicious, but overpriced. Compared to the blonde deserts for the same price, very disappointing! Otherwise, parking was great, the atmosphere was really good and all the food was delicious. The prices were fair for a lot of the food, but not all. I guess you have no way of knowing. I did have specialty dring: a manor sangria. It was really large & delicious. Definitely had plenty of alcohol. The waitress was phenomenal! Prompt, friendly, helpful and covered all the bases. So great when that happens. I'll be back, I'm sure, because my parents like it. I don't mind it, but not my first choice only because I don't feel pricing is on target for what you get. 1

Service was quick and spent less than an hour total here. Onion Soup as an appetizer was a disappointment because it was served lukewarm. Ribs with mashed potatoes were okay and what you would expect at a diner. I expect better from Applebees.

So I have to say I like Applebee's. But pricing for me throws me off. I love there pasta 4 cheese Mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken strips 17.49. I didn't want the pasta today so I got the appetizer of boneless chicken with the honey pepper sauce for 12.99 just five dollars more for the pasta to actually be a meal. The appetizer definitely needs more chicken or lower the price for the amount of chicken they give you.

The bartender was extremely nice and very patient with her very demanding manager. The larger bald manager demanded her around the bar while watching sports. It was very distasteful as a guest at the bar. Don't know if we will be back.

We had a problem with our pick-up order. My salad wasn't right. I got home, saw the salad and called the restaurant. I spoke with Nicole and I wasn't nice. Nicole remained calm, friendly and professional. Nicole made it right in a big way. Very good customer service thanks to Nicole and Brandon. Oh . . . and the new Oriental Chicken salad was fantastic. We go every weekend, the waitresses are very nice and accommodating. The garlic/parmigiana wings are great I recommend trying them unless you are a vampire.

The food is good but I wouldn't go again because the atmosphere starting with the nasty unwelcoming host to the waitress who when I ordered Pino Noir she brought a white wine when I said that Pino Noir is red she said are your sure and didn't offer to exchange it she just stared at me until I uncomfortably said I'll keep it. Ugh.

This is a great Applebees location, friendly bartender and with great happy hours! The Food at this location tastes a lot better than other locations. I drive a little extra to go to this one when I want applebees. Thank you!

OK, so when I'm talking chain restaurants I am not usually reviewing the fare. We know what it is. It is what it is, and if you know the Applebee's in midtown Manhattan it is the same as the ones around Boston, which is the same as the one in Phillipsburg, NJ, etc. and so forth. What we are talking is waitstaff, management and the intangibles. This place is run right. The staff is attentive and friendly. The outdoor dining area well kept. The restrooms tidy. The parking is ample. The curb service convenient. The single con, as long as you like Applebee's in the first place [and I do] is that given that there isn't much to chose from post COVID in the area, and that was limited to begin with before the closings of other local eateries, this place gets busy Weds-Sat. Figure that into your determination now that many of us are getting out and about again.

My wife and I decided to have an early lunch after shopping, so we dropped by this restaurant. Seating was open outside so we elected to have lunch in the sun. We ordered her favorite fiesta lime chicken and I ordered the grilled oriental chicken wrap. Both servings were amble (we could not finish our orders ) and flavorful. So much so that I believe henceforth the Oriental Chicken Wrap will be my go-to luncheon order. By the way, Kristina P was fantastic!

Good food, well prepared. My friend had chicken, I had a salad. Both meals were very good. Hot coffee was good. Attentive managers and servers. This is probably the best value in chain restaurants. Cooks and staff are very clean - NEVER a problem with any foreign things in food. No hair, etc. Never any dirty silverware, or plates. Covid precautions followed. The outdoor patio is the most fantastic place to eat. This is a place we both really trust for quality, quantity and clean food.

Nice patio. Perfect margarita was perfect. We got the $22 special. Hamburger was fantastic. Spicy rice was subbed for fries. He liked it, I liked it but would ask for a side of sour cream to cool the spice. Side salads were good, but some leaves were wilted(cooks fault). Patio is covered with a tent so you get the breeze but not the heat. He gives it 4.5, I give it 4. Atmosphere =5. Service 3.75. Food & drink his = 4.5 My food = 3.5. Sadly not a lot of vegetarian foods here. If you want a veggie burger you have to ask for it. Nice way to break out of quarantine. Patio was amazing so extra points for that. I would come back. Other than wilted leaves my food was very good.

Maybe the manager was not around.... But I was treated rudely... I simple left... shortly afterwards muy wife went in to place an order... and received the same treatment... 7:45pm Sunday... July 11th People who so call greet you...

This restaurant is poorly managed. We were rudely asked to switch tables by the manager. This restaurants bar is not properly stocked. We could not get the drinks we wanted due to zero stock. The manager was rude and aggressive. No attempt to solve a problem. The manger yelled and threatened us while we were watching a football game. Food was over cooked and over seasoned to hide reheated food. Stay away from this restaurant until a new manager is found.

Isaiah had great manners and was so nice to me n my mom. I forced her to leave him a nice tip.

Food was good, bartender Laura was awesome, but control of staff was lacking. We won't go back due to lack of self control by staff and lack of any sense of control by manager. We were seated at the end of the bar near the service bar for weight fast. During our entree a male member of the weight cell who was standing less than two feet from me was remarking to a female member of the wave staff I'm out becoming a sugar baby. When I mentioned to him that it was inappropriate discussion for a customer to have to listen to he then stated that he was merely discussing how someone could earn some extra cash. When I brought up to the manager that discussion of sex for money while I was having my dinner was not appropriate he said that he would "mention it to him". So much for being a neighborhood bar and grill and a family atmosphere. We will not be back

Service was great on an early Saturday evening. Food was served hot but was also salty as can be expected at these types of restaurants. For the prices the portions are average. Don't expect to take left overs. The rooms look as if they haven't been renovated in years. But for a quick bite it was ok.

An Applebee's is usually an Applebee's but the waitress was a bit of a grump. Would also be great if you included chicken in your boneless wings. It's the main ingredient.

I've never been a huge fan of Applebee's being that everything for the most part is frozen. My boyfriend and I stopped by randomly to grab some wings, mozzarella sticks and drinks in between shopping because it was quick. We sat at a booth and the whole window sill was covered with dead gnats, dust and cobwebs. The table was not properly cleaned and the menus that they leave on the table were greasy and sticky. The wings came out okay, the motz sticks weren't cooked all the way, the fruit on my bloody mary was slimy and we had to ask for sharing plates, utensils & napkins. We went in with lower expectations about the food quality but I was not expecting it to be as dirty as it was.

Been going here for years. Not a bad environment plenty of televisions around to catch a game. Always a friendly face on the servers. It sucks they changed the pretzels though cause before they were dynamite.

The waitresses there seem so miserable. If you don't want to work there , don't. No one is forcing anyone or work anywhere. Hire people who want to be there. Very uncomfortable when you sit down and your waitress rolls her eyes when she sees there's younger kids at the table. It was an older woman as my waitress, and will not go back specifically because of her. So rude.

Very disappointed with this Applebees. We have been cpmong here for years. The Last two times we were here the food was either way under cooked or way over cooked. The service has always been great We will not be coming back.

Just a typical meal. Service very good. The French onion soup and the broccoli cheese soup was just average. The French onion should have cheese over the bowl, this would make it more real. We both had salads she had the wedge and I had the chicken caesar. She liked the wedge. For me the chicken was ice cold and should be warm Applebee's it's the little things that make people coming back. Try harder

Basic Applebee's food which never fails but never goes above and beyond. Unfortunately, they always overlook my steak! Reliable meal if anything but the service at this location is great. It's always busy but they make the effort to serve you as fast as possible.

So decided to grab a late bite. Needed something off the challenge meal plan ugh I'll extended it one day. So I go to Applebee's. Walked in and the place was freezing. Thank goodness I had a Jean shirt on. Most booths had tables turned over . I was told it wasn't in the waiter's section. So I was directed to one that was, but the area must have had a large party that hadn't been cleaned up. Reviewed menu, asked for water with lemon...mentioned lemons twice. I wasn't told about half off appetizers...why not water was brought...ummm Katie where were the lemons. Two were brought. Ordered the neighborhood nachos. Asked for extra extra cheese. No quest blanco and sour cream on the side l. This is what I ordered and this is what I received. I wonder what it looks like with no extra extra cheese so she brings out cheese. Ummm I'm from California...home of Mexican food. What do you do with shredded cheese for nacho se with melted cheese. I waited 13 mins to receive my nachos with cheese bc 2 tables (1 with 3 ppl another with 5 ppl) received their order. I think someone even came to tell the waitress there was food waiting for her. Well maybe being on the phone showed I wasn't concerned about my food . Yeah I won't be rushing to that location again. Waitress was nice, but was definitely underwhelmed by the experience and food.

Slow service. Two burgers, kids Mac and two sodas... 48.00! Plus no internet to use the table kiosk. Not impressed.

Applebee's is a save choice for a cocktail and food. Not fine dining, but that is not their business model. This was the first time I was at the Applebee's in Phillipsburg. I was not familiar with the area, so I used Google Maps. I followed the directions and it lead me to Route 22 and announced 'I have arrived', when in fact I was in the middle of Rt 22 with no clear sight of the restaurant and no entrance into a parking lot. After looping back and exploring both side of Rt 22 strip malls, we finally found our destination. There is no strip mall signs to assist in navigating the endless lefts and rights needed to get there. I would rate Applebee's a 3 stars, but until Applebee's in Phillipsburg addresses adequate signage for their patrons , I score it 2 stars.

My boyfriend & I stopped here to get lunch earlier. Usually we eat here & it's fine. I usually get a baked potato & steak with fries (which I did earlier) with butter and sour cream... Except this time the butter was absolutely disgusting... smelled like feet. I asked my boyfriend to smell it to make sure it wasn't just me. I didn't even notice it was bad until I put it all over my baked potato so I couldn't even eat my food because it had melted all over my plate... all over my food. Super gross...

Picked up a to go yesterday, Nov 21 2019 in Orangeburg, SC. Taco salad was a disgrace: spinach drenched in ranch dressing with some shredded cheese but no ground beef. Really, Applebee's??? Fish and chips had no slaw or tartar sauce, requested lemonade no ice but received lemonade full of ice, plus order was 20 minutes late from Applebee's own pick up instructions. Do these lousy people care???? Won't be back. A real garbage experience.

Applebee's is a great establishment especially for half priced apps. Joan is a fantastic waitress, very happy, talkative, always refills drinks, etc. On the other hand, Melissa is TERRIBLE. Gives you attitude 24/7, doesn't respond when you say thank you, always "busy" even though she only has 2 other tables?, begins cleaning tables and sweeping floor right around you, doesn't look at you when you order your food, doesn't check on you once you get your food, etc. The only time you will see her is when she comes back to give the check when she smells like cigarettes. She only seems to be nice to people who buy meals or are adults. I for one am a waitress and always tip 20% because I know what it's like. but for melissa? She doesn't even deserve 10%. Only coming back for Joan and I will make sure I request her.

I have been to many Applebees throughout the USA...not that I'm a huge fan or anything but this one is the closest to me now and not a lot to chose from obviously in this neck of the woods especially if you want a drink! I can't remember ever having anything more than low average at this particular Applebees....The cocktails look nice on the menu and so does the food!!! Fruit juice...that's all they are!!!They couldn't make a corona rita...out of the pony size!!!My waiter was dripping sweat....the peach sangria was a waste of calories...I had to get up and get my own straw!!!I guess I'm still upset over the corona rita....

Very disappointed ordered one of new steak specials with mac and cheese as a extra. The order came out just warm. The manager did come to the table and ask how it was. She did offer to warm the plate. I was just not interested at all. I can warm it myself at home. It was not even busy so there was no reason the food sat before being served.

I normally love Applebee's and never have a problem, but today just wasn't up to par. I hadn't been to Applebee's in a while and I only chose it because I had a free entree coupon for my birthday. So my parents and I went for a 3pm lunch. We walked in with one hostess holding the door for us (as normal), but the other hostess didn't look happy or that she cared. She talked in a monotone voice and wasn't understanding that we wanted to sit at the bar table at the bottom of the steps into the bar. The other hostess understood and let us choose the table since the bar was empty. Our waiter came over and was hard to understand with his accent. My dad was upset that the normal Sam Adams wasn't on tap anymore and got a Heineken, which ended up being bad (skunky as my dad said). He got his new beer and we got ordered our appetizer. We finished our appetizer at least 5 minutes if not longer before our waiter came back to take our meal order. Towards the end of the meal, the manager came over to check on the table and we ended up having a 10 minute conversation about the beer and other things, which was a nice thing. We finished our meal and went on our way. Overall, it wasn't the best experience at Applebee's that we've had, but it wasn't the worst either. I think what made me do three stars instead of two was the conversation with the manager. Also the food wasn't bad at all.

Came in to watch the football game and celebrate my birthday and had a fantastic time food was on point. And Grace the server was Fantastic, Bob the local guy is amazing. I will definitely be coming back

I'm not an Applebees or RubyTuesday person, but this place could be changing my mind. When I moved to the area I needed quick food until I got settled. Clean atmosphere. Consistently welcoming staff at the door. Good choice selection on menu. outside seating looks good (haven't tried it yet). The current manager makes a point to go to tables and greet people. Happy guy. Even saw him in the place on his "off day" and he was just as happy. Nice that his "happy level" is the same, On or Off work. They have TVs with all the sport on. My Golf is always on!!! Love that. They seem to have take-out you can pick up. (I've seen the parking spots for that) This isn't the place to get quality wine of course. But we all know that. :) People visiting me like it here too, they ask to go back.

Meh, it's Applebee's. Sometimes the work group would come here for lunch on a Friday. It's a typical Applebee's and the food was so-so. Not quite one of the better chain restaurants IMO.

This particular Applebee's appears well managed when the male manager is working. His folks really seem to enjoy working for him. They need a little help teaching tenders how to pour Stout whether the Guinness or the new Sam Adams they have on tap. Let it sit before pushing the handle the opposite direction to release the nitrogen properly. Food is much improved. Service is good. The only bad I saw was when the female manager knowingly continued to serve someone who had way too much. The guy was passing out / falling asleep in his barstool. Pour responsibly please. It's not only your job but the right thing to do. Perhaps calling a cab would have been wise too! A few of us at the bar were disturbed.

Typical Applebees, but really packed on a Friday night, before we arrived & even after we left the folks were queuing up to eat.We needed a table for 7 & were seated in about 12 minutes. The Service was prompt, The Manager even stopping by each table to check everything was ok.3 Kids menu & misc adult entrees. I ate the Sweet & spicy ribs which had a dry rub effect & were pretty good.Not my usual choice but a good place to eat with young Children

Food was dry and tasteless. I think they kept it in the microwave for too long and forgot to add salt. I don't remember the menu describing my dish to be dry and tasteless, so I'm not sure why it came out that way. Also, I was out of soda, so when the waitress came by to ask if there's anything else we needed, i thought for certain she'd ask if I'd like another soda considering it looked like she was looking at my empty cup. Maybe she was tired. Maybe she didn't care. Plus it took way too long to get the food. I bet they did end up leaving it in the microwave for too long! Not impressed and not worth the Applebee's price tag.

apple bees always is in the pits. I only go here because its easy to socialize here late at night with friends. 1/2 price apps are great only when half off!

The only time i visit this establishment is if my work friends meet up here. Ehhhhh. I usually stick to something on tap and a salad. You cant mess it up.

I've been coming to this specific Applebees over the years when visiting family and they insist on coming here. The food and service used to be really good years ago and I've noticed a downward spiral of inconsistently prepared food and inattentive servers. My recent visit included poorly prepared food, dirty utensils, and unprofessional management and staff. The food options aren't great in this town but only go to Applebees if your family drags you here kicking and screaming.

it's Applebee's. chain establishment with the menu the same as the rest. I love the boneless wings. apps are good and it's a nice place to come catch up with friends. the girls working here are the sweetest. Amanda and Jess rule !

Like everyone before me, Applebee's is Applebee's. But, I would suggest not taking the pint glasses straight from the cleaner/steamer to the tap. It over-foams the beer and the customer is left with a warm beer. Frost them glasses!

This restaurant doesn't give a damn about 5% of its customers and it just lost this one. There are NO entrees among several dozen on the menu for vegetarians or vegans. ZERO! They have Mac and Cheese but it has bacon in it! I was relieved to find Black Bean Soup but the waitress told me it has bacon in it too! She said I could have a veggie burger. Naively I said "Oh I didn't see that on the menu." She said, "It's not on the menu. It's by request." I settled for the mozzarella sticks (which they overlooked) and a side salad. I ordered a 22 ounce beer but so much fizz was in it that it was about a 19oz beer when it settled. I had to go to the bar and get it filled right. So Applebee's can't even pour a drink, cook mozzarella sticks, they do everything positive to send vegetarians from running for the exits. They love animals though. Boy are they ever profitable. Grass fed beef? Free range chicken? No such luck for the cows and chickens, who apparently live their entirely lives incarcerated. Applebee's, can't you even pretend to give a...

This Applebee's had a 15-20min wait that's a good thing I come here a lot and the food is great so I would recommend coming here .

Our shrimp in the scampi linguini was raw. Then we saw a black thing in one of the shrimp and returned both the shrimp scampi linguini entrees we got.

i usually like going to applebees. having said that, the last time i was there i ordered the ribs. i almost had to request a chainsaw to get the meat off of the bone. i have NEVER had ribs that overdone before. it was like they were cooked sometime around christmas and just sitting under a heat lamp waiting for some poor sucker to order them. service was good, but you can bet your bippy i'll never make the mistake of ordering their ribs again.

Been here a few times food is good. You get what you pay for. Service was average but better than most places in Phillipsburg.
