Edited to add: I was contacted by a manager, Angela, who apologized for the bad experience. This prompted me to come back and give 3 stars instead of 1. I appreciate when someone cares enough to follow through.
I went to Applebee's on Union Ave in Memphis (not sure why it says I live in California; I don't) Saturday, Oct 24 to get a curbside pickup; my husband and I both ordered the Bourbon street steak cooked medium with a dozen shrimp, got my son chicken tenders. Upon arrival, I called to let them know I was there for my pickup and they told me it was too cold and rainy for the employees to come outside so I would have to come inside the restaurant. It wasn't raining and it was 50 degrees out; additionally, I had left a tip for their trouble to bring to my car. I had paid for it on credit card, so they already had the tip when I got there. When I went in the restaurant, the server that gave me my food had her mask under her nose. Got home and our steaks were well done. No cocktail sauce with the shrimp which I paid extra for and the shrimp was cold. Son's tenders were tossed in a sauce, which we DID NOT request; he wasn't able to eat them. His fries were soggy and cold. This is the fourth time I have ordered curbside at this Applebee's and had to go inside to pick up my order. One of the other times (not this visit), when I had to go inside to pick up my order, the server could tell I was upset at the poor service and she told me "SMILE, HONEY!" For this visit (Oct 24 2020) I also put in feedback on the Applebee's website and almost a week later, haven't heard from anyone. Applebee's used to be a wonderful restaurant; been ordering the Bourbon street for years. VERY disappointed and disgusted that we spent that much money for our anniversary and it was this bad.
