Applebee's Grill + Bar

102325- We went there last night. We had a very nice bartender, our first time see her, as my best friend that came in surprising us, called her slim thick. Loved her smile, personality and positive energy and attitude she showed and yes WE, tipped her well too, she divan excellent job, cause thats what it takes to be in a hospitality job. Anywho, my friend and I had some drinks, I had strawberry lemonade and I tried the beer my best male friend ordered for me, comes with orange slice on glass, very refreshing. I didn't take pictures, honestly forgot, the food and drinks was so good. We had chips and dip, and bone in and boneless wings. The Asian Chile wings bone in i had was delicious.😋 Great food, great service, we laughed and joked, I saw th Mgr when walked in there. I meant to speak to her, my friend and I normally chit chat with her when we come there. That was a perfect night, Applebee's at this locale, they get 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars and they deserve it too. We'll be back.😊 Went last night. Had the southwestern salad bowl with grilled chicken and shrimp. We had the very nice and very fast bartender and waitress. The food was great and we had the spinach and artichoke dip and the strawberry lemonade, always my favorite, I could drink a gallon of that lol. We'll be back. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

09/03/25 - You are welcome. Definitely deserve it😉. Went last night. I did not want a lot to eat and I never tried their salad bowls with chicken, rice. Corn black beans, diced jalepenos and grilled chicken. It was delicious. I know, I meant to do a video and totally spaced it. I'll get it again on our next visit. We had the same bartender and waitress, we had some deep conversations too. I give them 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 and I had a strawberry lemonade. It was delicious. We'll visit again. 😉 Went last night. Food was delicious. As you see I had the sampler. The bartender /waitress was very nice and personable. We talked to her bout how customers don't tip. I worked in hospitality as a cook and I know I earned every cent and tip I received, cause you have to live that industry to be working in it. If you don't enjoy, then, don't do it, it's that simple. As we told her we always tip. Anywho, tip these people, cause it's not an easy job. I give them 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 stars,, the drinks and food was great. We'll visit again. 😊

At 11pm I ordered this food and I live across town from this restaurant. I just want to say I’m very impressed. The food is good and arrived pretty warm. This is a delivery order.

The burgers we got were juicy and delicious, even though I was brought out fries instead of the onion rings I ordered. The waitress never came back and offered refills. She never even came back for me to tell her my order was wrong. Didn't see her again until it was time to go.

We set in this place approximately 15 minutes before we realized that no one came and acknowledged that we were there. I cannot rate the food or drink or water because out order were not taken. Applebee's on Union. 8ish pm. We left there and went to Olive Garden and enjoyed ourselves.

My mom and I went twice this week to the Applebee's on Union Avenue. Both times we were seated immediately. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. On the second visit, there was an unnerving incident. I'm guessing it was an ex employee or a customer who was very displeased. Thankfully, we had just finished our meal and we were waiting on dessert. A dude walked along the back of the restaurant and cleared a few tables with his arm, then walked along the back side of the bar and seemed to knock the bar glasses in the floor with a swift arm. It was loud and scary. He looked angry, too say the least. At that point, most of the restaurant cleared out. It wasn't clear what the guys problem was, just that he DEFINITELY had one. I didn't see anything about it on the local news, Thank God, so I'm guessing his breaking the dishes satisfied his anger. -> back to the visit... out first visit was Tuesday. We started off with their crispy chicken wonton tacos. These were absolutely delicious! The flavors alongside the extremely crispy wonton shells were the best thing I've had from Applebee's, ever! My mom had a southwestern shrimp bowl and I had the bourbon street chicken and shrimp. She liked her dish, I loved mine. We enjoyed the Crispy Wonton chicken tacos SO MUCH, we came back on Thursday just to Gabe them again! They also serve excellent margaritas. If it weren't for the crazy dude (and they're everywhere in this city, unfortunately) they would've gotten 5 stars on the atmosphere as well. We will definitely go for the tacos.... soon!

I never been to apple bees before ,but the manager did her thing love her so much she was our server due to it being very busy after a comedy show we went to it was only a couple servers but she came and saved the day

Went in on a Sunday with my family and was pleasantly surprise with the great and attentive service, hot food and steady refills. The manager was on the floor checking on customers which makes a great sign that the service is priority. Well maintained, busy but clean. Staff was professional but fun loving. Very positive vibes in this place and great for those family dinners or for those beer at the bar crowds.

If you're looking for great service, be sure to ask for James! He took care of my family on New Year's Eve and truly exceeded our expectations. We requested our four wing orders to be cooked extra crispy, and he delivered perfectly. We never had to ask for refills, and he was genuinely friendly and approachable throughout our visit.

No alcoholic beverages. No cutlery first and last time ever I will eat a steak with a plastic knife and fork. Brocoli tasted like chemicals with the fake butter and the potatoes are instant and taste like out of a package.

Walked in. Waited at least 5 minutes for someone to come to the front to seat us. We finally gave up and went next door to chick fil a.

My last review said "I never want to come back...." but I decided to come back and be disappointed all over again. Let me start with the good parts. We came for Happy Hour on a Friday so the place was empty. We were seated immediately and had our orders taken immediately. The bad. The table we were seated at was dirty and nobody wiped the table down. Waitress brought us some drinks and one of the drinks had a fly in it. Waitress assumed it was from the ice and only takes away 1 drink. The rest of the drinks with ice just sat there. Waitress did say they would take care of the ice for future customers. Happy Hour lead to 1/2 off apps which are always a good value. I got the boneless wings and mozzarella sticks. I liked both the appetizers. The beer mugs are designed to be deceptive. It is probably only 10oz in that mug. The quesadilla burger was small and just ok.

So we have not had a lot of luck with the Applebee's in the Memphis/Southaven area. However, we decided to give this location a try and it was better than the others. We arrived on a busy Sunday and we're promptly greeted and seated. The server was pleasant, and had our drinks to us right away. The reason for three stars and possibly not four, had to do with the quality of the appetizer and then the long wait that ensued. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip with chips, and the chips were full of yesterday's grease and very soggy. Additionally, we did not have plates or silverware, and it took a lot of time for the server to reappear. The boneless wings were good but had to wait on silverware. The main courses we're good. I personally had chicken tenders with french fries. My wife had the grilled chicken salad and our son had the fiesta, lime chicken. When we received the check, there was a four dollar up charge for my wife's grilled chicken versus fried chicken on the salad. We did have to ask about it. The waitress said it was normal. I did not believe that to be the case. So I asked her to speak to a manager, and the issue was fixed. My question is, how many people do not notice? The restaurant was clean. The staff was friendly. We'll most likely give it another try.

Service is very slow. Not enough people working. What happened to Applebees? Not what it used to be.

Absolutely terrible service. Waited 5 minutes for someone to seat us. Got sat, ordered our drinks & ordered our food. Took 30 minutes for food to arrive. Ordered the fiesta lime chicken & my wife ordered buffalo wings & loaded waffle fries. By the time the food arrived, we were out of our drinks. Didn't get a refill until the food was literally gone. Fiesta lime chicken didnt come with the pico or lime like it was supposed to. Buffalo wings came with no sauce. Fries were supposed to be loaded, but she didn't bring out the beer cheese until, once again, the food was gone. I work in food service, so I can understand being busy and understaffed, but this waitress/ bartender (younger blonde wig black lady) was literally just ignoring us & was on her phone. Do not waste your time coming to this location.

I love trying different restaurants especially when I visit one out of my neighborhood. I normally look at the Yelp reviews prior to visiting. From the time I walked through the door the hostess named Eva was on point. She was energetic, attentive and greeted me with a smile. I informed her I would like to order to go and she graciously walked me to the bar. Once I sat at the bar I was greeted by the bartender named Chanda . Once I ordered several different meals to go which included chicken & shrimp plate, riblets platter and bacon cheeseburger with a side order of shrimp. I asked the bartender to give me a recommendation for a nice mixed drink. She recommended a crown royal whiskey sour drink. Let me tell you her recommendation was exceptional. This drink was so good that I had two ( ). I decided to order a steak cooked medium well, mashed potatoes and broccoli while I was waiting on my to go order.My steak was cooked to perfection and my potatoes tasted like they were homemade. I highly recommend everyone give Applebee's on Union Ave a try and I promise you will not be disappointed.

This has been the absolute worse Applebee's experience ever. After traveling all day, we placed a delivery order as it was too late to dine-in. When the food arrived the ENTIRE order was unbelievably wrong. 1) I ordered wonton tacos. They literally placed four shells in a bowl and put nothing inside them. Just gave me 4 empty wonton taco shells 2) The Cajun salmon dinner had no Cajun rib on the salmon, and no veggie (broccoli) was sent with the fish. 3) The glazed steak meal was sent with no glaze, just a dry steak that was cook well beyond medium rare. 4) Did not receive an order of onion rings. 5) Received no eating utensils or napkins. I attempted to call the restaurant 8 times and no one has answered. You have to have the IQ of a gnat to mess up an entire order. I wish I had read the reviews before we ordered, but silly me. I have received excellent service at Applebee's all across the nation, which makes them a good late night goto; this Memphis location definitely is not a standard Applebee's, and it has nothing to do with COVID.

I cannot leave a review of this place because I was not allowed to eat here. The super rude bartender told my friend and me, after we walked into an empty restaurant, that there was a 30 minute wait to be seated. My friend asked, "To sit at the bar?" The very awful woman replied, "Yes. It's shift change" like this is a hospital or something and not a place that serves margaritas made in a bucket for $1. This is the excuse I often get from lazy Memphis restaurants that do not want to serve anyone. We left the empty restaurant, which is exactly what they wanted us to do.

We went on Thursday evening and the waitress was very pleasant,also the hostess was very friendly and nice,the service was great, and it was clean so I had the Cajun Salmon very dry and the Garlic mashed potato,the Broccoli was very good,we wanted some butter sauce it was really cold not warm,my friend had bourbon chicken he liked it and the other person had ribs platter she liked it

For the month of October, they have $1 Zombies. I would have thought that the drinks would be watered down because they where so inexpensive, but no they were on point! The food was pretty good to. I had the queso taco dip and it was so good. The cheese was seasoned and melted just right as well as the meat. Our waitress was very good that night as well. She was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of all night. Oh and don't forget that the appetizers are half off after 9. I think I may make this one of my go too night spots when I want to get out and have a few drinks and listen to music. I had a cool time.

Came to have a few drinks with friends on a Friday night. Wasn't crowded at all, but it was a steady flow of patrons. Drinks were flowing and the food was enjoyed by everyone in the party. We sat at the bar so no waiting to be seated.

These wings are ass! I don't like it it taste like the wing was cooked in batter for a fish. The survey said very few words showed no respect and honestly in my eyes didn't deserve a tip

Lordy mercy no words need don't do curbside to go they will never get your order right. If you do check the food before you leave. The people who read the orders must be a bit blind. The food was not the best just save yourself the frustration and cook.

Applebee's is advertising $5 Spooky Sips Dracula's Juice & Tipsy Zombie. But Server said only the DJ was available, no explanation. 15 minutes later (there were only 2 other tables occupied in the entire restaurant) it was served ~ tasted ok, nothing special. I ordered Blackened Cajun Salmon ($14.99) & very clearly specified "I like a LOT of Blackened seasoning, please." Didn't happen. & I thought the portion was small for that price. Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp ($12.99) was supposed to be served with Garlic Sticks. But no Garlic Sticks came. Menu reads "Served with 2 Classic Sides," but Server said it only comes with one? I have ordered this dish at other Applebee's where it was served correctly. I'm giving 2** because I've eaten at this location 3 times in 2 months & each time the wifi didn't work, I was given plastic utensils (real wrapped Silverware at other locations), Hostess & Servers were brusque, & Dining Room wasn't as clean as I would have liked. So this is my last visit here. I much prefer the Bartlett location (see recent Review).

My experience with Applebee's Grill + Bar today was hideous. Though the waitress my mother and I had was polite, she was not very welcoming, nor was she attentive to our time there. There was trash all over the floors and tables; giving the restaurant a very unsanitary feeling. My mother and I were seated at one of these dirty tables and proceeded to watch as the restaurant ran understaffed with 10-15 minute gaps between actually seeing our server. The only positive thing about this experience was that the food was still good, but the overall service and environment was disappointing.

I'm sorry to say this location deserves it's rating. I understand the shortage of employees at restaurants currently, but that shouldn't impact the quality or serving sizes. I ordered a entrée salad. I have had more lettuce/greens in side salads. The server was attentive enough, but she didn't really listen. Businesses have to find a balance between a reduced customer base due to Covid concerns and providing the service expected by the reemerging society that would like a good meal.

This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. I am empathetic to the fact that there is a staff shortage nationally. But this was totally unacceptable. I've never done a Yelp review before but I downloaded this app just to do so, because it was that bad. The staff present exhibited a nonchalant and apathetic attitude towards multiple patrons. The wait times for even being asked what to drink, was 30 minutes. My chicken wasn't cooked all the way either.

I probably may never come here again. The service and food were horrible. After being seated, it took over 20 minutes just to get our food; on top of another 10 to get the drinks back, not to mention that they were wrong. 2 of the servers were playing and eating while on the clock. overall horrible experience to say the least, and the food wasn't worth it.

Bad management trickles down right to the servers. servers discussed who did and didn't want our table right in front of us. Bathrooms were terrible! Chips were stale to our spinach dip and when I told the manager.. he proceeded to tell me "how he knew for a fact the chips weren't stale". everyone walking around in steet clothes. No one LOOKS like they work here. Terrible experience. It sucks that it's so close to midtown, I expected better

This the worst apple bee's to ever come to on union I ordered online and my order was suppose to be ready at 10:42 it is 11:30 and the worker saying it's gone be a minute on my order and I still haven't got my food I aso for my money back since I didn't get my food and had to wait long the manger didn't want to give me my refund the whole staff was unprofessiona. NEVER GO TO THIS APPLE BEE'S ON UNION you will be WAITING a hour in a half and they are very UNPROFESSIONAL.

This restaurant management is absolutely unprofessional. Their parking lot is connected to another business, but there are no signs that identify it as Applebee's parking. For someone who was visiting from another state, thee was really know way to know this part of the parking lot was for Applebee's. The manager and the operating manager stood outside picking who to tow and who to allow to park. Our car got towed and three other people had cars towed. However five others did not get towed. When I asked what identifies this lot as Applebees, they admitted that they should probably have signs. When I ask how they identify how they know people are in their restaurant, they refused to tell me. What's more suspicious, was when paying for the tow, only cash was accepted. When I called the police about the harassing behavior of the managers, I was told I was correct and then an employee called me a "white ho." Do not give this establishment your business.

Literally the worst restaurant I've ever had business with. Terrible service and terrible management. They will have you waiting an hour for something that takes 10 min max. They'll also give the wrong order. Good is terrible. Good news though, if you're into a club atmosphere this might be for you. Music on level 10.

Horrible delivery product. Ordered Tomato Basil Soup and it was delivered cold in salad dressing cups. Seriously?

we went to this applebees and the second we walked in we got dirty looks. we sat down and it took 10 minutes for a our server to get to us. It was 75 degrees in the restaurant plus the servers were rude. she finally came to take our order and we asked for two waters. we waited another then minutes and we finally got our water and when we got it we asked if we could get it to go since it was so hot and the serve gave us a dirty look and said mhm and walked away. we walked out before we got our food. while we were waiting the waitresses in the back were recording tiktoks and dancing on their phones.

The host was professional and courteous. The waitress was attentive and prompt. The ambiance was nice but the drink was not all that good.the burger was delicious and presented well. However, I didn't like it when another young lady began sweeping after we were seated at our table.

Worst service, the attitudes of everyone even the manager were not acceptable. We waited an hour and never received our food, my son ordered a Marquita & never received it. The table was dirty. Everyone around us were getting waited on & received their orders. This place needs to be shut down or new management!!!

We walked in and was greeted by a host and then was told that they ran out of paper menus. Was seated quickly at a DIRTY table. After sitting there for 10 minutes, I asked the waitress for the table to be cleaned. There was a hole in the wall, dirty window, and the place just looked like a dump. Once we received our food it was HARD and lukewarm. So sitting under a heat lamp. The only good thing about my meal was the fries. Will NOT be returning.

Edited to add: I was contacted by a manager, Angela, who apologized for the bad experience. This prompted me to come back and give 3 stars instead of 1. I appreciate when someone cares enough to follow through. I went to Applebee's on Union Ave in Memphis (not sure why it says I live in California; I don't) Saturday, Oct 24 to get a curbside pickup; my husband and I both ordered the Bourbon street steak cooked medium with a dozen shrimp, got my son chicken tenders. Upon arrival, I called to let them know I was there for my pickup and they told me it was too cold and rainy for the employees to come outside so I would have to come inside the restaurant. It wasn't raining and it was 50 degrees out; additionally, I had left a tip for their trouble to bring to my car. I had paid for it on credit card, so they already had the tip when I got there. When I went in the restaurant, the server that gave me my food had her mask under her nose. Got home and our steaks were well done. No cocktail sauce with the shrimp which I paid extra for and the shrimp was cold. Son's tenders were tossed in a sauce, which we DID NOT request; he wasn't able to eat them. His fries were soggy and cold. This is the fourth time I have ordered curbside at this Applebee's and had to go inside to pick up my order. One of the other times (not this visit), when I had to go inside to pick up my order, the server could tell I was upset at the poor service and she told me "SMILE, HONEY!" For this visit (Oct 24 2020) I also put in feedback on the Applebee's website and almost a week later, haven't heard from anyone. Applebee's used to be a wonderful restaurant; been ordering the Bourbon street for years. VERY disappointed and disgusted that we spent that much money for our anniversary and it was this bad.

Absolutely worst service we have ever received. Got there around 2:30. Server brought us one set of drinks, someone else brought us our food, and no one else ever checked on us. Went with no drinks for the majority of our meal, refills were never provided even upon asking. Waited over 30 minutes just for a bill, for it to be the wrong bill. Servers just kept sitting around and talking

Worst service I've ever had. No joke our server brought one of the beverages out under their armpit because she had her hands full. We needed to wait for silverware and plates after the appetizer arrived. After asking twice for napkins we finished our meal without them. The server never stopped by to ask how the meal was and we never received a refill on the beverages or napkins. I will never visit Applebee's again or buy one of their gift cards for anyone again unless I do so to a sworn enemy. My only regret is that I wasn't able to capture this fine dining experience on video.

This restaurant needs to be closed. Period. Worst Applebee's I have ever been in. Will not ever go back there. Horrible interior and employees look like they work at a Dennys. With apologies to Dennys. The Applebee's franchise should make them take their name off the building. Restaurant has not been upgraded since it opened.

Not a fan of this slow disrespectful place. Only one good server in the restaurant. The rest was no good. I give this place a Zero.

Disgusting! We waited 10 minutes for a table only to be seated in a booth with food still all over the table as well as ketchup and straw wrappers on the bench and table.

We went in and it was crowded they seated our group and started on our orders the service was a little slow seems like they may have been understaffed plus this was a very busy night.

This is dirtiest restaurant I think I have ever eaten in! I should have known by the parking lot ( covered in paper & trash & dirty diaper) not to enter. Definitely not what I have come to expect from Applebee'. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this one.

This place is flat-out awful. I have never had a great meal here, but the last time was my limit. Our server spilled a bowl of hot cheese dip on one of our guest's leg & the floor (which, accidents happen -- and that's fine). However, she did not apologize & instead, after half an hour or so, poured a cup of water on it & then left another full cup of water sitting on the floor for the remainder of the meal (just asking to be spilled -- I'm also not sure how this cleans cheese from carpet). Our steaks, which were ordered medium rare, were super, super well-done. When one of our guests pointed this out, our server grabbed a manager & we were told repeatedly, "We can't take any money off because you're eating it." We didn't ask for money off. The manager then took her plate of food away (no substitutions). I'm not really sure what's going on with this Applebees, but it's probably better for corporate's reputation if they just close this location entirely. If I could give it NEGATIVE stars, I would -- unacceptable experience.

If you are in search of great service, you definitely need to STAY AWAY from here. On not one, but several occasions I've encountered total unsatisfactory service 1.) My garlic bread was burnt and the rest of my table was golden brown. When I questioned the manager, he stated mine was right and theirs was wrong (true story) 2.) My family was advised by the hostess to dine somewhere else because they were short staffed. 3.) My steak quesadilla was primarily flatbread. On one triangle I had literally ONE piece of steak with sprinkles of cheese. When I spoke to the manager, his response was "that's the way it come, but I can replace it for you." However, two others ordered it at my table and their order was full of meat (plus theirs was half off for happy hour) I am convinced this particular Applebee's need a complete make over from management to staff.

03/05/2020: From out of town & came here...BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!!! There were 2 host at the podium & I stood there almost 10 minutes before anyone ever said anything or acknowledged my presence. Was seated eventually by a young lad, only to be vague with us. The waitress came after another 10 minutes; introduced herself & walked away. Came back to ask us about drinks; took the drink order & came back 5 minutes later. We placed our orders & every order THEY DID NOT HAVE SOMETHING. I asked if we could substitute something & was told NO! I said even if we pay for it!!! Then the waitress comes back to tell us they do not have the complete appetizers . THEN ITS NOT THE CLEANEST!!! Shut this establishment #DOWN

Good location in Midtown. Pretty good food. The crowd mars the ambiance of this place. It can be rather...oh I won't say .....I'll let you gather your own opinion. Music is way too loud.

Applebee's in midtown was exceeded my everyday expectation. We went for Taylor swifts 31st birthday and it was life changing. Although we were timid about wearing our party hats, we were never judged. The food, delicious. Drinks, thirst quenching. Service, exceptional. I can't recommend this place enough. Very covid friendly and our server was so kind. Happy birThday Taylor and god bless America.

I placed an online order for this Applebee's which is about 6 minutes away from my job, needleless to say the food was cold and the breadstick that came with my pasta was hard, and stale, pasta was dry even though its not supposed to be, Grub hub address the issue on their end , when they called Applebee's they declined to address the food issue. I wont be ordering from them again. Sad that they don't have any food etiquette, and are serving stale bread. shame on you Applebee's on Union in Memphis, TN.

If you can take the drive elsewhere, do so. It was a short trip from where I was visiting. I ordered carside to go and when I parked an employee was coming outside the door. I thought the employee was coming to my car to deliver my food, but another car pulled in the lot from the wrong direction and she jumped in to talk to them. A few minutes later, the same employee comes to my car to tell me that they don't have any salad vinaigrette dressing. I'm in awe that m she's even on the clock. Another employee returns with my order. I checked my order, the sides are missing so I walk in and run into the manager. As I'm explaining the situation, the same chatty employee runs around the corner with the bag of sides and interrupts. He seems used to the bs that they pull and I just want my order. I return to my car and I have to back out of the driveway because the employees friend is still parked outside and I'm blocked.

If I could give zero stars I would!! WORST BUSINESS I HAVE EVER EATEN AT!!! I live Applebee's and was excited to take my family there for Father's Day. We all ordered our meals at the same time. We each received our meals 30 minutes apart while tables of 10 that got there after us received their food not only before us, but also all together. My in-laws received their 2 meals last which was an hour and a half after receiving my meal. This place should be shut down. They were also out of half of the stuff that was on the menu! RIDICULOUS!!!

We've gone here a few times and have mostly used car side to go and we always arrive when it says our order will be ready. Every time we have arrived on time we still have to wait at least 20-30mins to get our order (and this is after waiting and calling them and going inside). This location and the staff are the worse, they seem like they could care less about their service or customer satisfaction. I wouldn't even waste my time visiting this location because you're guaranteed to get poor service.

Worst service ever. We seemed to be a bother to our waiter. They weren't all that busy, our glass never was refilled. Won't go back.

One of my favorite things about this particular restaurant is the fact they offer good prices on meals and the fact they offer half off prices on appetizers. Service may not always be as great and can be a bit of a wait but the food never disappoints.
