Applebee's Grill + Bar

Food and service was good. They just opened at 11am when we got there. The floors are slippery, tables sticky, bathrooms haven't been cleaned in days and the vents are dirty along with walls and lights above tables.

I really think this place needs a good update or employees that take pride in their employment there. The second we walked in we noticed the place wasn't that busy, but it was also 4pm on a Monday. The hostess was on his phone which then followed up with him greeting us and sitting us at the smallest booth known to man. Our server was great, and attentive and stayed that way through our entire dining experience there. No complaints there! We ordered our food and our appetizer came out quickly and was hot and tasted great. My chicken wrap was just okay, tasted a little off but I was able to get past it. After we finished our meal, I went to use the restroom. I walked past multiple employees just standing around not doing anything (which fine, it's not busy I get it) but as I'm walking to the bathroom past the tables by the bar area, there were napkins all over the floor just laying there not being picked up by the employees who are just standing around, same with straw wrappers. I know they've seen them, because I instantly did! I get to the bathroom, and the bathroom smelled awful, the floors, doors, sink , everything was gross! I washed my hands, and to no surprise, no employee still picked up all that garbage on the floor and what do you know they're still standing around. I get back to my table, and just look around the place and notice the hostess is still on the his phone..We then just pay our check and leave. Not even a few hours later I was so violently ill from the food I ate there that being that sick alone will not send me back there. I'm not writing the review to be solely negative, mainly to just bring awareness to hopefully the management staff about their employees taking pride in their work environment. Hopefully corporate can do some major renovations to this restaurant, because it sure needs it, and I hope the employees can keep it that way. Please look further in to the food prep as food poisoning is serious and I know that your food there 100% made me ill. I hope no one else got as sick as I did.

Great place to eat for a night out. Haven't had to wait more than a minute for a place to be seated and always friendly and kind safe. The restaurant is clean and food is great. Prices are also getting better lately too, with their app deals.

The food was ok. The chips had a weird taste to them. Men's restroom floors were very slippery. Employees were great and very helpful. The booth table was too small for us. Some good Happy hour deals.

Food ordered was no where near it's description. Listed black beans and corn on the salad. There were a total of 2 beans and a kernel of corn. Appetizers were very greasy. I think the cooking grease was old. Cleanliness was non existent. The rails on the ramp leading to restrooms were so sticky. Bathroom was filthy. Floors very slippery. Lots of Water on the bathroom floor. In stead of being mopped up a wet floor sign was placed on the floor. Manager was unfriendly with attitude. The only saving grace was our waitress. She was outstanding.

I’m only giving more stars for service because the lady taking my order was very nice and professional, but my 4 cheese Mac n cheese with tenders had no flavor ! Didn’t even taste like they put 1 style of cheese in it let alone 4. Tasty very watery and the tenders were not coated like they were suppose to be look like they just squeezed a quick amount on the top of them , only thing that was tasty was the bread stick.

We didnt have to wait for more than a few minutes to be seated. The food was tasty and hot. Our server was Shar. She was pleasant and helpful. Perfect

Visited this establishment for a nice family dinner and we were seated at a table that was dirty. The entire table was sticky, there were crumbs from the previous patrons on the table, seat and window. We had to ask TWICE for the table to be wiped. The waitress proceeded to set out appetizer on the dirty table. After pointing out the table needed wiped she responded with "let me find the host, that's not my job to wipe the tables." She then sprayed the cleaning spray on the table while we were sitting in the booth. Unfortunately the rag that was used smelled very much like vomit. This prompted my family and I to swiftly exit this establishment. Hopefully they are able to appropriately staff and handle these situations in the future. As for us we will not be revisiting this location.

This Applebees was great. It's been a long time since I've had a truly good experience at an Applebee's, but this location really turned things around. The service was excellent. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome right from the start. The food was also great. I ordered a steak, and it was cooked perfectly, and just the way I asked. That's saying a lot for a restaurant not particularly known for its steaks. Be sure to take advantage of the special (two entrées and an appetizer for $25) This will save you some money. I definitely plan to come back to this location the next time I'm in town.

First, if you're ordering car side to go, don't think for a second you should venture beyond ordering a burger or a sandwich. You'll likely be able to summon a three star rating for these. Applebee's is really not a steak house to begin with so to think ordering a steak to go was a good idea, we'll, it wasn't. Steaks ordered medium was very dry and beyond well done. They was actually inedible but having paid nearly $50 bucks for the meals, and being 6 miles away, we gave it our best effort. The garlic mashed red potatoes was never anywhere near a kitchen with a bulb of garlic laying around. They was dreadfully salty which was the only thing noticeable about them. As I may have mentioned, we've had a few decent burgers using car side to go. Better for sure than the $10 burger and fries at McDonald's. But steak? Pick them up at Walmart and cook them on the grill at home. Applebee's steaks? Never again. (and probably never again the "non garlic" mashed potatoes.

Service is the worst in the area, you have to look for the waitresses even to pay the bill , food is not bad but takes too long , the only reason people keep coming is because there is not a lot of options for dining ,

We had a gift card for Applebees so we were forced to eat here. Most Applebees that I have experienced in the past few years suck but the Steubenville location is the bottom of the barrel. Bad service, slow food preparation, terrible food. What more can you ask for?

The service there is terrible, couldn't even accommodate a family of five. Food is told to make some people sick. The server couldn't even give us a wait time when we asked. Thats why the restaurant is a 1/5 stars

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. The service in both takeout and dine in is horrible. The past 3 times I have ordered takeout I have waited 15-20 minutes past my pickup time for my food to come out cold and items missing in my bag. Dining in is just as bad. Not to mention, the quality of the food gets worse each time I go. I will not be back to this location and I don't advise you go here either.

This evening, my husband and I decided to go out for dinner to celebrate his birthday. The waitress had personality of a dead fish. She was slow to acknowledge we were seated. So I played games on my phone. She arrived and requested our drinks, instead we ordered our meals first. About 30 minutes later, she states we are waiting on the fries. Add another 10 minutes, we received our luke warm dinners with warm fries. My medium rare steak was extremely tough and hard to cut. Long story short, I could have had a hot meal at home.

Food is fantastic the service is amazing and very nice inside love this place every one is very nice great place to meet friends and family or maybe meet someone new !

Decided to change it up a bit and hit up the Bees for lunch! We got doordash Applebee's and were so pleasantly surprised with the quality. All orders were made spot on, delivered still hot, and were tasty. Usually we only grab drinks at this spot because the food has been lack luster, but after this experience I think we will give dining another chance. Stepping up their game is appreciated!

Appetizer came out of fryer smelling burnt and tasting bitter. Three servers told us they mentioned it earlier to kitchen staff; kitchen sent food anyway. Waitress took back cheese sticks. Our chicken tenders came out dark and smelling the same way. After sending that back we had to wait another 20 minutes for something not fried. The manager only allowed the waitress to take off 10% of the check which really doesn't even cover the cost of the appetizer we never got anyway. The in duty manager did not even have the courtesy to come to our table and explain/ apologize. Given the current state of not being able to keep employees in business this makes me think it's not that no one wants to work it's the greed of the franchise / franchisee and inexperienced/ poor management. The waitress was great. The management sucks. Next time we will drive an extra few miles to a better restaurant.

Applebee's gave me the worst experience of my life at a restaurant the food terrible I couldn't even order my drinks until 30 minutes of waiting. A lot of waiters passed by and I asked one if I can order and they said you have to wait for this specific waiter. It took her 30 minutes just to get to me and then I had to wait a hour just to get my food and also the waiter deserves to be fired

ABSOLUTE TERRIBLE SERVICE AND MANAGER WAS EVEN WORSE THAN EMPLOYEES waited over an hour to get order taken only took 1 order and was ignored and were not super busy food came out cold and a hair in dip

I know this is an Applebee's and the food is not supposed to be good, but it was really, really not good. Everything was just blah - especially the spinach artichoke dip and the pretzels. The service was atrocious as well

Had a late lunch with my sister on 11-7. The food and waitress were excellent. My only complaint is the vulgar rap music that was playing. I can listen to some rap, but this was disgusting and there were a lot of seniors in there having to listen to this while eating. I love eating there. Maybe have a better choice of music. Thank you.

This is the place you go to for the drink specials. Staff is friendly and the drinks are good. The food has really gone down hill. Last time there they sent out a plate that was only have completed. The thought was so that the chicken didn't get cold while waiting for the side dish, but as a chef you must know how to time food. Steak was rubbery. One entree was cold. The chicken was so cold the garlic butter on top didn't even melt like it should have. Def a place to go for happy hour not dinner

Nice place , good service . Food ? Ha , we had the two for 27 which was an appetizer and a steak with two sides and a half rack of ribs also with two sides . Honestly quite a good deal EXCEPT that the food tasted like it had all been made in the microwave, not good but for the price I expected it to taste like frozen TV dinners and I was not disappointed. Not a lot of choices to eat at in Steubenville so .... You get what you can

Went to this Applebee's on a Saturday night. This place was packed. The host sat us quickly. Our waitress, Kamie was friendly. The service and food was phenomenal!

Stopped for lunch we wanted a salad each. I had a caesar salad, other salad was same just different dressing,was just chopper romaine lettuce no crotons, and some cheese, no bread sticks or rolls we were disappointed, and for 31 dollars not including tip,for 2 bowls of salad and chicken,was waste of time.

Went to Applebee's on a mommy and daughter date. We had Natasha as a waitress, she was awesome! She was interactive and kind with my daughter as she took her time picking what she wants. She made sure we had refills, condiments, and extra Napkins. She was kind and smiled the whole time! Thanks Natasha for making our Mommy and daughter date even better! ​​

Every time I use car side to go and I have a cash tip instead of tip on my card Erika will purposely forget items and make me call her to bring them back out. This has happened more than once. And it's always Erika. I get car side to go at least once a week. I'm done now. No more Erika is shady

Enjoyed stopping here for a quick burger. Dean Martin photo at the entrance is super cool, considering the singer was born just a few blocks from here. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger, came with fries. The burger was delicious, I finished all the fries too, hit the spot. Waitress was nice and friendly, manager Bill came over to check on me as well. Overall a good experience, I will be back!

Great lunch today with the folks in Steubenville. As always Applebee's delivers fresh, hot and great food. Our server was new, but great. You should stop in and check them out.

Only gave 2 stars cuz my table was clean and the bathroom was clean. Ordered a beer then five minutes later ordered my food. I got my beer exactly one minute and 45 seconds before my food arrived...in fact another waitress asked if I needed anything and I told her I'd like my beer. She brought it. Food was not good. Ordered steak on bed of rice and the rice was cold and chunky. Garlic mash...seriously how does one screw that up. While eating I ordered another beer and got it about three minutes after I finished eating. If I hadn't just drove five hours and was hungry I would've walked out. Left a $2 tip. Never be back here or at least this Applebee's

We Went in to see the US women's World Cup second half before a long trip back to Philadelphia. The wait staff took our orders and made sure our beverages were never empty(even offered to fill my water bottle!). Food came out quick and hot! Great trip to the bee's!

Bar staff is awesome! Kitchen staff leaves a lot to be desired! Dinner on Thursday and waited almost an hour. Broccoli was very overdone and had brown coloring throughout. Alfredo noodles were dry, had to ask for extra sauce. Manager was just standing around, watching tv, not even paying attention.

We went to Applebee's on their busiest night of the week and they were even more busier then before because of the nearest steakhouse to them was closed because they had a water break . I will not mention the other steakhouse. Bit I gotta say Applebee's rose to the occasion because they were super busy and was expecting a Long wait for a table and it wasn't even that long of a wait. So when we got our table / my husband and I sat down and discussed that we may have to wait for a good while for our food/ and we decided to be considerate of the cook the waitress and the busy restaurant. Well our food was out in a flash and it was delicious. Steak was make perfect. Food was awesome waitress really kicked ass to wait on us and other from what I saw. I gave her a great time because she did very good and was kind and wonderful even though she was very busy . That lady rocked it . The cook rocked it and would tell others to try Applebee's in Steubenville Ohio.

It sucked food was burnt every time I wanted to talk to manager she walked away service was slow. They need to hire people I sat for almost hour they messed up order I want for 20 mins for corn dogs. They aren't getting service from me. I almost was going to leave because service was SLOW!!!!!!!!!

I love Applebee's but their Steubenville oh location has the worst service. Our waitress was rude and impolite. She basically threw out food at us making our cheese sticks fall. And we got no silverware. My very old grandma had her money out on the table to count what we had and she accidentally took the tip off the table from the last person. Our waitress came up rude and yelled at my grandma for stealing. It was a simple misunderstanding she didn't know she took it. And she admired her faults. I understand people have bad days but this is unnecessary. And as for the food I got the bourbon chicken and shrimp the shrimp was either too done or not enough. And the chicken was a lot smaller then other locations. I recommend Applebee's to everyone but not the one in Steubenville oh.

08/12/16 visit. I received a gift card for applebess as a gift. I really didnt want to stop but figured I would use my card. I been tempted to try the wood fire steaks but also Knew I would be disappointed. me and my son stopped. I order the onion soup and the smallest steak. I was disappointed that ribeye wasnt on the menu as this is the easiest of steaks to cook. But they only had sirloin. My son ordered the onions rings and thechicken with the stout gravy. Son's review he liked the onion ring but didnt like his meal. He thought the stout gravy meant think and not stout beer. I tasted it and noticed he strange taste to the gravy and then looked at the menu and realized the added taste was beer. Wasnt bad but knew it is something my son wouldnt like. so He made a meal out of the onion rings. I ordered my steak medium and when I got it the first taste was dry and tough.. Right off the I thought they overcook the steak but looking at it and did have the slightly pink center. So it was correctly cooked as a medium. I figure the steak was previously frozen for the dryness and toughness. I wasnt super happy with my meal but I was expecting not to be impressed but only there becuase I had a gift card. Now the onion soup I was usually happy with in the past.. but the soup was very weak tasting in with flavor, as it hardly had any flavor and seemed very watered down. Either that or they changed the recipe. I was really dispapointedin the soup. I feel the steak dinner was more expensive than it sound especially with the quality of the meat. Service was ok. We had a waitress in training. He had someone overlooking her. Only thing I would suggest is not to tell her what she did wrong when writing the order in front of the customer. it was done in an encouraging way but shouldnt be in front of the customers table though. even though I didnt have anything serious wrong with my order exceptfor the above, the two tables that was near me, both had orders wrong on their table. as I heard the customers complaining to the waitress. So really things havent really changed at this applebees

Good place to hangout, and most of the waiters are pretty nice. The water kinda tastes weird but the appetizers made up for it. I ordered desert, it was like the brownie stuff with cream and it was pretty good. Overall, good place to eat and have a gathering, maybe even grab a beer.

As soon soon as we walk in and were going to be seated, there was yelling across the restaurant about were we could sit. They were arguing back in forth for a little about it. There was employees sitting at a table with masks hanging below their chin and some with no masks on at all. I get it sometimes you need a mask break but do it in the bathroom or a room in the back not right in front of all your costumers. Also, the employees were smoking right outside the dinning room which everyone could smell and as non smoking individual, i did not appreciate it while i was trying my best to enjoy my meal. The food was tasty but cold. if i wanted cold food i wouldn't just gone into my fridge at home. THE only reason i'm giving it a 1 star is because our waitress Kamie M. was a delight and very attentive.

Food was good and the best part of our visit was our waitress Chelsea K. She was really nice and good at her job she made sure we felt important even with it being dinner rush:) we have never had a waitress at Applebee's treat us with respect until Chelsea K. Thank you!

This is your average Applebee's. i came in here not expecting much and was hoping to get a little turnt at the bar. Kicked things off with a sam '76 that was past fresh as of April 2018 (currently June 2018). I notified the waitress and got it removed from the bill. After this i stuck with the draft beer and with the limited selection chose a miller lite. We decided to order food and went with a 2 for 20. Got boneless wings and a burger. The burger was poor. Boneless wings were good!

My service was terrible took the server about 20 min to just get our drinks and as we were waiting for our food it got cold very dissatisfied with the service. On top of us being sat at a dirty table it was the worse experience I've ever had there.

Terrible curbside to go experience!! #1 They forgot my soup and have a terrible cold so I was really looking forward to the soup! #2 They forgot my ranch dressing with my boneless wings! Two little celery sticks #3 No silverware or napkins!! All these MISTAKES and stupid me gave them a $5 tip . What a mistake! Plus... my friend drove all the way from Wisconsin to try this Applebee's, so it was not worth it at all!

It's going on the trajectory of Damons: mediocre food and service. The floor needed a good sweeping. People around us were returning their food. Ours took over 45 minutes to receive. Didn't get a bowl of soup that was ordered until we finished the rest of our meal. Management no where to be seen. Get it together.

I am addicted to the oriental salad. The service is pretty good. My only complaint would be that it gets quite crowded and loud.

I wouldn't eat there if you paid me again! The waitress put her fingers in the drinks when she was serving them. I saw another waitress come out of the bathroom stall after she flushed the toilet and never washed her hands and started serving food. Nasty people! Never again!

Amazing place with great food and service. I go to this place all the time and multiple times I've saw the same customer take tip money off the table after his friends leave. I heard him say HE DOESNT NEED THAT then take the tips.Not just a dollar but multiple dollars. I've witnessed this 3 times now and would like to let anyone going to this restaurant to watch for this young customer. He drives an Acura

came in for Veteran's Day for their generous meal, Meghan was the hostess and was very nice and helpful. I let them know how many food establishments do not give back on this one day a year to all the sacrifices we have made, signing that dotted line an giving up our family and friends to train and prepare for war. This place is not a very attentive Applebees. It has gone down hill quite a bit in the last couple of years...alot of servers have poor attitudes, a couple of months ago I experienced dirty plates and silverware with food particles stuck on them. When I asked for replacements...i got a long wait and and an attitude.when I did get replacements...they were just as dirty.

Constantly screwing up my orders but they always fix it so I usually don't complain. Well tonight not only did they screw it up, they gave me food poisoning! Won't be going back there!!!

If I could take away the 1 star I would. Went today with my family got seated around 5:18 we walked in around 5:15 ish. Say down we're waited on for drinks a few minutes later. He came out fast got our food order and then we sit there start to notice almost every table after us that was seat has their appetizers and food by now. My aunt I was with asked him as we walked by to the other tables who had their food and said "how much long for the appetizer?" It was now 6:18. He slammed the drink tray which was full down at the bar and went to the kitchen. Came out with the appetizer didn't speak threw it down walked away. After the Manager came with the food and our appetizers saying sorry for the wait. Well we were still waiting on another appetizer. He didn't come back and disappear out the back door and didn't check on us. Need less to say do not go if you want quality. The food was disgusting and the to go food was just horrible in-editable to be truthful. If someone has a corporate number that would be great.

I have been to this Applebee's many times over the past few years, and I have never had a bad experience. The food is always good and never makes me sick, like every other place does. On top of that, my girlfriend has severe food allergies to dairy and onions, and they are always sure to make sure that her food is safe to eat. One time, they did bring her steak out with onions on it, but quickly remade it and apologized. It's a great place to get a quick meal at, every once and a while.

Applebee's was great maybe 15 years ago. Since then, something has happened. The quality is lacking, but the price is the same. Since it is a chain (my area doesn't have too many), it is popular. But service is poor and SLOOOOOOW! Also, do NOT go there if you are vegetarian. Sure I know, that's kind of a new thing. I'm used to only getting appetizers as a vegetarian if that's all they offer. But even the starters at Applebee's are filled with bacon, beef, etc. I've asked for no meat, there are still crumbles in it. I know I know, I'm a weird vegetarian. But a lot of people are these days, and we can't even get a salad there. So yeah... I'd give it more stars if they worked on their service, cleanliness and options. Not just vegetarians, but everyone will find this place a bit disappointing.
