Our group of four had a fantastic time at Apricot Lane Farm. I’ve seen the documentary three times, as well as the follow-up on Disney+, so I’m a fan. The day was cool, sunny, with bright blue skies and puffy clouds. Perfect, in other words. All the tour guides were friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. They really take you hither and yon and there is one steep, slippery climb, so if you have mobility issues, it could be challenging. There’s a tram to accommodate people who can’t handle the trail. You can jump on and off throughout the tour. I loved being able to dig my hand into the cold-composting worm bin and see all the wrigglers, smell the intoxicating citrus blossoms, see the swirling fruit basket from Alan’s Overlook, marvel at all the different bird species, and learn that Emma’s granddaughter Itty Bitty is expecting her first litter. It was such a delight to be joined at the end by Molly, who was so open and present with us all, answering our questions with such thoughtfulness , humor and grace. And her sweet son read us a poem he had written about the myriad gifts of an apple core. I bought a variety of citrus (the blood oranges are insane) and a huge bag of arugula, and left the farm feeling nothing but gratitude that such a place exists—and that it’s only a 40-minute drive away.

Google
Admitted fanboy. It really is a great experience with lots of helpful learnings. Really helpful and kind staff that answer questions. I loved the soil conversations most. Seeing chickens and cows is fun…but it feels like we’re just seeing … chickens and cows. Even more depth on the farming practices would be helpful. Biggest feedback I would give is to share suggestions for how to apply these learnings to people attending. In particular, share ideas for improving soil for people working in their smaller personal gardens/farms.

All I can say is AMAZING! We had a wonderful two hour tour with Nathan. He is super informative with so much knowledge of the farm. We got the bonus tour where we got to speak to Molly on a question and answer period for over an hour. Her son was also there who finished the evening off with an awesome poem he wrote! There aren’t enough stars in the universe to rate how wonderful this afternoon/evening was!!! I would recommend watching the movie first before you go just so you get an idea of the farm. We even got a bonus with having our picture taken with Molly. A total GEM experience!

We LOVED our tour here!!!!! Tickets sell out very very quickly so I recommend getting on the email list for first access. Even if you know nothing about farming and agriculture, this is such a fun way to spend a day. We learned about chicken coops, regenerative farming, soil, worms, produce. The farm is gorgeous and the guides were immensely friendly and informative. The tour is concluded with the opportunity to purchase from their farm stand-- the eggs are awesome!!

Google
We were able to score tickets to a farm tour while visiting California. It was a wonderful tour, so informative. We saw the worm bed, cattle pastures, chicken pens, the pig Iddie Biddy (a descendant of Emma), and the fruit trees from Alan York's Lookout. We had been wanting to tour for years and were ecstatic that we were able to make it happen. The best part of the tour was when we had a chance to talk with John. He graciously answered all our questions and even posed for a picture with us. We are somewhat farm nerds, so this was an extremely interesting and meaningful tour. Crazily, as we were driving out of the farm, a coyote ran across the road in front of our car. If you have seen the documentary, you know the significance of the sighting. Highly recommend this experience!!

This place is beautiful, almost like a messy heaven on earth(cause it's still a farm!). The biodiversity, from the flowers, fruit trees, animals, bees, and etc. Is huge! These flowers pics are just a fifth of what I've seen there, just outstanding. The 2 hour tour was a great hike through most of their operation, and they go into great detail about anything you ask, regarding the farm and processes. Only negative was the prices are a little high on their produce, but their 5 dollar lemonade, sweetened with honey was out of this world. Will definitely be coming back in a year or 2 to see how the farm progress and keep supporting this farm, which does a great job at advertising organic growing techniques that are regenerative towards the land.

Google
It’s a nice place to visit and spend some time but it seemed lacking. When walking around where they grow their tomatoes and chilies there was no smell of tomatoes and Chilies like you would smell where there are real vegetables been grown. This is not to say that they are not real but it was off putting. The free range chickens were free ranging in a somewhat big cage with a coop inside, maybe they have their egg laying chickens somewhere else. It seemed to me like there was a big production and not really a mom and pop farm, which I am not saying they claimed to be.

Google
Apricot Lane is amazing. The staff are generous with their time answering questions and the tour is amazing. You walk away getting a sense of how hard they have worked to build a sustainable farm and the passion all of the staff have for wildlife, the plants, and the people who visit.

Yelp
Absolutely recommend the farm tour. It's a 2 hour walking tour through their working regenerative and organic farm. Saw plenty of animals and 100's of different fruit and vegetables.

Yelp
Biodiverse farming. Makes me think this must be what the Garden of Eden was like! What the movie, The Biggest Little Farm. It is amazing!

Yelp
Just outside of Los Angeles you can enjoy the country! This is an amazing farm that uses sustainability principles! The farm host a variety of events including tours and concerts throughout the year. Plus they have the cutest little market with fresh produce and meats! If your are looking for organic produce, stop in for what's fresh for the season!

Yelp
Apricot Lane Farm is a must-visit if you're in the area. They have amazing olive oils and eggs, and their fresh fruit is a must-buy. The staff is super friendly, making it well worth the trip!

Yelp
What a disappointment we came all the way for bbq but parking was $25 and the event for kids was included atleast they said ... after we paid (were the 3rd car to enter) we get stopped twice asking to pay for parking after we already did ‍ then after eating we walked our 2 year old to make a flower crown and the person stopped us asking where our ticket was to make a flower crown?!? After we were told the event for the kids was all included.... You need to be clear about additional costs and parking yikes.. also no one should be sticking things to our car...

Yelp
Just saw it on television. I gotta make a stop. We gotta check this out. It looks really cool.

Yelp
The large Great Pyrenees in the pretty small electrified enclosure is troubling. He was there to protect the chickens. I found it cruel for the dog. There are other ways to protect chickens and the dog should not be in an electrified enclosure period.

Jeff M.

Yelp
Very educational and fun. If you've seen the movie "The Biggest Little Farm", this is the place. You'll get a lot of the story. Caution... this is a walking tour.... a lot of walking... two hours. Some uphill, so young and older folks may not like it. The staff had a golf cart, but I think you'll miss a lot of the narration. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, it was worth the price. Everyone should see this to learn where your food comes from. Wear comfortable shoes... hat and sunscreen a must.

Yelp
By far probably the most beautiful farm I have been to. Loved walking thru their small garden and farm stand. Lots of beautiful flowers, plants , trees and butterflies. I have never seen so many bees and butterflies in one place. Just beautiful. The farm stand has lots of fruits and veggies for sell. Eggs and some cuts of meat. They also have a few gift items, olive oil and vinegar. I really wanted to visit the farm ever since I watched the documentary but didn't have a chance til today. The farm tour was sold out but still I had a great time just walking around and having ice cold lemonade under the gazebo. Overall a lovely place to visit.

Yelp
Tour was such fun and so interesting! I learned why some figs are much larger than others! I saw worm composting at such a scale I never imagined! I happily rode in the cart so I could enjoy the tour more without having to walk so much. Enjoyed learning!

Yelp
So the reason for the visit to the farm...The biggest little farm streaming on Disney. The story is amazing and to actually go and see what they have accomplished is even better. This was a treat from my spiritual son and daughter. They also saw the movie and wanted to visit the farm. You have to buy tickets fast because they go EXTREMELY FAST! The farm sits on over 230 acres and is a working farm. They focus on "interconnectedness of nature to help build soil health, maximize biodiversity, and regenerate every grow the most nutrient-dense food."-from the website. It has some of the most beautiful views and vistas. While there we saw cows, chickens, and a pig, along with several different orchards. They also have a small gift shop where you can purchase fresh produce (in season) as well as steaks and apparel. I can tell you the persimmons were delicious as well as the apples. If you get the opportunity to watch the Biggest little Farm you will truly appreciate all the hard work that has gone into this farm. Considering I'm totally a city girl, this was an experience that I will not forget.

Yelp
What a fabulous farm and farmstand. I can't wait to go back for the two hour tour. So quaint and the way they plant everything thrives.

Anne P.

Yelp
I'm an animal lover so I was very troubled by the Great Pyrenees dog that was enclosed in a fairly small electrified fence area. He was there to protect the chickens. They move them so they can say they are pasture raised so the enclosure moves. There are other ways to keep chickens safe and have them pasture raised without having a dog in a small electrified fence enclosure. So unfortunately that spoiled the whole thing for me.

Yelp
I thought the farm tour was very interesting and very educational. However, if you have kids who are big fans of the film, you should know that you won't be able to see very many of the animals on the farm. I only mention this because I don't think this tour is great for kids under 12. The tour itself is super long (2 hours) and a ton of walking (we logged 7000 steps), mostly uphill. And the talks are all about sustainable farming practices and agriculture, which I find very interesting, but there were several kids under 12 on our tour, and they all seemed very bored. Some kids were not very well behaved, but I honestly understood because it was hot, and they were bored. They strategically place a sampling of chickens and their star pig, and a few cattle, to break up all the agriculture talk, but I'm not sure where the bulk of the animals are kept. Overall, I thought it was worth doing once.

Yelp
Lovely farm with lovely people. John Chester was even there on Mother's Day to sit and talk with us! I am so in awe and respect what they are doing. Learned a lot about organic farming. Best to watch the movie before the visit! My parents in their 80's were fine -it's a 2 hour tour but you are not walking the entire time. Purchased the lovely eggs and avocados. Made some delicious guacamole which for some reason has not changed to brown in 2 days like other avocados I've used.

Jagen S.

Yelp
Beautiful farm. Nice tour. Avocado, eggs were great.. farm is organic and bio-regenerating cant wait to watch second part of movie..

Yelp
This place is absolutely gorgeous and considering the environment the location the time of year and the drought that we're in they are the most luxurious and luscious farm around. They don't keep a bunch of stock on hand at the store but they do supply farmers markets all over the area on different days that you can catch locally. I've worked and I've lived on a farm most of my life growing up and I have to say it's not easy and they've done a really good job not knowing anything about it going into it. Not sure what some people expect on a tour but I personally have no need to pay $100 to view a farm but worth it if you don't know what a working farm looks like. No it's not as exciting as an amusement park as watching things grow can be slightly boring at times. The more interested you are in actual regenerative farming and companion planting the more interesting it will be for you. Take notes Ask questions Get involved (Farming is a give and take situation not a take and take situation)

Yelp
We came here last weekend for a tour, and it did not disappoint! The waking tour was a nice workout especially on a hot day. After, we shopped at the farm stand and we purchased eggs and my first time ever wagyu steak! It was very expensive, but for that type of meat, you'll know why. My hubby and I couldn't wait to try, he smoked it right when we got home from the tour haha. That was the BEST tasting meat it have ever had. We kept saying "wow" eating it!

M O.

Yelp
It is utterly AMAZING what these hard working folks have done with a dried up fruit tree grove! They are an excellent example to follow, whether for our own yard or any business. I wish the whole earth would learn. They learned the hard way, we can merely take notes and enjoy

Yelp
This is probably the most beautiful farm you'll ever see. The produce is a good quality, and everything is just really well-maintained. Its architecture is designed very well. We've done a farmers market here, bought some merchandise, and did a tour on a separate day. The walking tours and driving tours sell out really quickly, but the walking tour we did was very informative. Everyone is very friendly here. Everything is just extremely overpriced like a five dollar avocado.

Yelp
We did a Saturday tour and were very disappointed. We'd been waiting for 3 years to get tickets so perhaps our expectations were too high. The tour guide was very technical in his word choice and at times even he lost what he was saying. The best part of the tour was being greeted by the barn cat, Mr. Whiskers.

Yelp
I just watched the movie about this amazing farm. I Plan to visit soon, but know they operate by the best and highest standards to enhance the soil to providing a healthy place for all their animals and consequently selling products that are healthy and provide good nutrition.

Yelp
Just the farmer's market - tours are not available right now due to COVID. Arrival and parking was easy. Maybe just because we are between crops but it felt like a minimal selection. The eggs are amazing! So much flavor. Husband got some meat and we will try too. People were friendly and helpful

Fil Brian A.

Yelp
Truly very inspiring documentary. A whole lot of realizations especially when animals die and so as human dies. The circle of life. The beauty in simplicity and the value of friends and family are all every one of us really need in this crazy world we're in. I love your friends showed their all out support by singing Old McMolly had a farm!

James B.

Yelp
We visited after for a walking tour after viewing the film. Very disappointing. This is more of a media operation than a viable working farm. $36 t-shirts and other overpriced junk in the store. Tour guide said they have 80 employees and many Directors. Don't see how the numbers can work for this type of overhead. The farm looked immature with lots of issues. It's not easy to farm this way but maybe the focus should be more on the farm and less on the Disney movies.

Laura M.

Yelp
Thank you Apricot Lane for promoting Regenerative Farming practices in Moorpark, CA. Your biodynamic work is exemplary. Hope more farmers can be encouraged to use cover crops and animals in their orchard. The simbiosis created on multiple levels creates an beautiful vibrance. May working in harmony with nature become financially viable for all farmers and land stewards. Viva la microbes!
