I think that before coming here, you have to understand that it's a fusion place. Meaning it won't be to what you may already be used to. We were passing by and it looked really cool from the outside. Bright neon lights, 90's décor all over the place, and somewhat of a summer/outdoor vibe. It's inviting even from the street, so we stopped by. They have a parking lot that wasn't too full when we went on a weekday evening. They have some tables available and a big counter/waiting room for ordering. Their menu has a lot of traditional dishes but with an American twist. The larb comes with fried chicken instead of ground, the papaya salad comes with 2 whole shrimp placed on top instead of the tiny ones, etc.
We decided to go with the papaya salad, beef pad see ew, and the bbq chicken. I noticed that when they charged us, they charged us more than what was shown on their menu. Not by a lot, maybe 60 cents per item (and this was before taxes/tip). Not a big deal but there is some inconsistency with their listed prices. We paid and waited for our food. It was prepared pretty quickly and we took the food home.
The papaya salad was really good but it lacked the spiciness that I'm accustomed to. The pad see ew was perfectly prepared, chewy, and everything that you expect from it. The bbq chicken was good too, but not something I would order again. It was a chicken wing and a thigh for over $15 and it was ok at best. It came with a side of sticky rice which was also good.
Overall, a good spot to check out for the vibe and a quick bite. Come with no expectations, and use the menu prices as an estimate.
