Puglia Restaurant Review - Little Italy - New York - The Infatuation

"Puglia has a pretty long menu, and you can read through it if you like, but there’s really only one way you should do dinner at this 100-year-old spot in Little Italy, and it’s the prix-fixe. The whole table has to participate, but for $49.95, you get massive portions of baked clams, rigatoni alla vodka, and chicken parm. It’s all served family-style and while you wouldn’t go out of your way to eat any of it again, the red sauce and cheese-heavy dishes do help balance out the other aspect of the prix-fixe - bottomless beer and wine for three hours. As you may have guessed, the majority of the restaurant is standing on chairs and waving napkins in the air before the entrees even arrive." - Matt Tervooren

I wandered by here on a whim to see what the food was like and was not disappointed. Their pasta was very fresh, Greek salad was delicious, bolognese sauce was a solid B+. Their desserts were to DIE for. Lemon cake was exceptional and had been made that day. And the rest of their sweets looked phenomenal. I will be back to try more. The staff were very nice when I walked in and helpful to me in choosing something from the menu. It’s nice to find friendly people! It can be a tough place to find but google maps helped me find it spot-on. If you park on the street you’ll be fine or there are public lots close by as well.

Wonderful wine, delicious food. When I walked in I felt as if I had returned to the Puglia region in Italy. The owner/waitress has a passion for the food they offer, and for me it was a reminder of why I love the Italians and their food! Give this place a try you will not regret it!

One of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Such friendly staff, and a great atmosphere. The food was incredible. Not greasy, cooked to perfection, and something for everyone on the menu. There was not a single but leftover on any of our 6 plates. Rosa the owner greeted us and then threw on her chef jacket, and cooked the amazing meal. And to top of the amazing dining experience, we took her recommendation and had a delectable lemon dessert. I will definitely make it a point to come here anytime I am close to the area!

Delicious Authentic Italian food with great service. From the moment I walked in, the service was great. I was immediately greeted with smiling faces. I can’t wait to come back to try the other popular Italian dishes on the menu. Order the house Apulia salad . You won’t regret it!! Great location. Right next to the mall. Perfect place for a date night or lunch and shopping with friends.

Great new neighborhood place. The pasta my wife and I had was excellent. We indulged in a bit of dessert and that was good too. The service was very good and we had the chance to speak with the owner. We'll definitely be back as the food was good, the service was good and it's super convenient. Also, kid friendly.

If you are in the Kendal area I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s authentic Italian from Bari. The arancini (rice balls) are amazing. They have two versions. One is arancini pugliese which si more of the traditional and arancini Siciliani that is filled with beef ragu. Both are fabulous! If you like a bit more flavor get the Siciliani. I had one of each. They made chicken parmigiana for me that was honestly one of the best I had and I’m picky with Italian food! The sauce is exactly how they make it in Italy, light and fresh! Family ran and one of the best experiences I have ever had. This was the true test! I’ve had cannoli all over the world. Apulia is tied for the best ones (one other restaurant shares this honor). Better than any I have had even in NY! You truly feel like family here. You can taste the passion in the food and it’s evident that the family works hard and ensures it’s the best it could be! I can’t say enough and would encourage anyone who loves great authentic Italian cuisine to visit Apulia, you won’t be disappointed!

Yelp
At time the time to make the reservation, they asked for my credit to secure reservation, by the time I arrived the place was empty. As soon I walked in, there was an smell of burning cooking oil, very unpleasant. We asked for a glass of red wine and it was served in a white wine glass and it was a 1/4 of the glass full. Asked for tab water, they did not have, forcing us to get a $5 bottle of water. Ordered a Caprese salad, it lacked balsamic and it have only one basil leave for the entire salad, I had to ask for more. Main course was nothing extraordinary, a pasta with little flavor and a tiny lasagna swimming in red sauce. A place that I will not go back. At least the people attending the place were very nice.
