The Aqua Luna Victoria Harbour Tour was a highlight of a recent visit to Hong Kong. If the weather is nice, it is definitely worth your time and money to grab a seat on this red sail ship. With ports in Central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Wanchai, and Hung Hom, it's possible to embark nearly anywhere in the harbor. Tickets can be bought in advance, which I would encourage if you want to do the evening harbor cruise, as I am told that it sells out quickly.
On the day that I cruised, I could not have ordered up better weather. Even in the midst of the afternoon it was warm with a refreshing breeze on the harbor, and there was no sign of haze or humidity. The skyline of Hong Kong was a silhouette in a perfect azure sky, and the water was still and calm in the harbor.
I boarded in Central, and the pier was easy to find from the MTR station -- particularly notable since it was my first day in HK! Since I hadn't paid in advance, I made sure to have enough cash on hand for my ticket. At the pier, the ship pulled up and I was greeted by several welcoming sailors; the staff was so friendly and courteous throughout the whole tour.
Once aboard, I chose a seat on the upper deck, which allowed me to recline and admire a view of the harbor. Between the lull of the gentle waves, the refreshing breeze, and the relaxing lounge music that was playing, I could have taken a nap -- some passengers did!
Drinks can be purchased on board for a reasonable price, and they are often included in the evening tours. This is one activity that I would recommend without hesitation to anyone while in Hong Kong!
