Update 10/1/25 I was going to delete this review but I’ll pass. The location on Albany ave is solid but this one will have you PISSED every single time. Waited months to try again after my last purchase was trash only to have the same garbage. Only ordered parcha and (3) chicken pastelillos but of course I got old hard ass beef empanadas wasn’t fresh at all and DoorDash customer service sucks! The restaurant confirmed I got the wrong items and it’s literally the only food item ordered. Why not cancel it if you don’t have what was paid for? Over them fr never again! This location is always ripping people off. They charge way too much money to send this little bit of food. The containers are thin and they barely give you any food. The steak was packed in a separate plastic container, soaking in oil food taste rushed but charged almost $30 for this meal. Mind you this is for my lunch break so it’s not as simple as just bringing it back. So disappointing smh

Whenever I visit Hartford I always like to eat from the local Spanish restaurants. On Saturday afternoon choose to buy food from Aqui Me Quendo restaurant. Which turned out to be the worst decision. First of all the service person could not speak English, and had no courtesy smile. I ordered 2 bacaloitos, 1 potatoe ball, 1 yucca and 1 green banana alcalpurria for $23 dollars. At first site I was excited to eat and share these items with family for lunch. The potatoe ball and alcalpurria were made extra large which was made me excited. But once I was at home and we began to try to eat these items and instantly we became very disappointed and dissatisfied. The bacalouitos tasted like old dirty grease, fried flour and dry cod fish. The potatoe ball wasn't cooked throughout it had hard potatoe chunks, and the ground meat didn't have seasoning. Needless to say the alcalpurria was very greasy, the meat was fatty chunks of pork and both didn't have that savory authentic Peurto Rican flavor. After two bites the food sent my family running to use the bathroom because of the grease. Never ever again will I eat from here again. That's a promise!

We got there an hour and a half before closing. So they didn't have much to offer. Although what they could make/cook was fresh and hot off the stove. I like that their foods are not heavily seasoned nor greasy. Service was great. And pricing was affordable. Over all they get a 4.8 from me.

Google
Food was ok, nothing special. Especially pricy serving small portions. Got 2 orders of pancakes, 2 home fries, 2 order of eggs. Pancakes were extremely small and thin only 2 each order at that. Got 2 large fruit drinks, one Minute Maid. 1 empanada. Charged just a little under $80. $40 per person barely food on plate. Better off else where that’s not gonna rip you off. Plenty of great Spanish food for better cost and better portion.

Google
Was super excited to try this place and it didn't disappoint. The food was fresh and like home. Tried other empanadas (aka pastelillos) in town and theirs were still the best. Service was friendly and efficient. It was also nice to be able to speak Spanish with others.

Yelp
Was missing authentic PR food since my trip in February. Someone suggested aqui me quedo but this location specifically! It did not disappoint me, but parking can be tricky in the area. However, it was so worth it when we at down to eat. Got the potato ball, tostonas, beef stew, beans, and white rice. The flavor was delicious and I can't wait to go back to try more of their pastries that they are known for. I did not want to over order my first time in case I didn't like the food. Wish I did get a to go order to eat at home. Give it a try!

Yelp
(Disclaimer I'm writing this review based on their food truck ) Today I went to their food truck and ordered a 2-parcha/ passion fruit drink, plantain with meat, and some type of sandwich. This should have at least taken 20 minutes tops for a food truck but it took 2 hours including the drink. Overall, the food was good. The sandwich was really good but the plantain felt thrown together and way too oily, and at that point, I just threw it away. Wish they did better because I was excited for the food but I feel like it wasn't worth the wait.

Yelp
They often display a negative attitude when addressing issues. It's important for them to improve their communication skills and learn how to interact professionally with customers.

Yelp
Some of the best Puerto Rican food I've ever had. Everything was so good. The server was very friendly and helpful. Good value as well.

Yelp
Eh, wish I could brag about this place but unfortunately I haven't been impressed. Although they do have good alcapurrias. What I like about this place its convenience and quick service. This is a great spot for those days you're have limited time for lunch and not feeling like getting McDonald or Wendys. I don't love it but I don't hate it.

Yelp
Great authentic Puerto Rican food. I've been eating here for over 25 years. The pernil (roast pork) and carne guisada (beef stew) are delicious personal favorites, and great for newbies. With a side of rice & beans, and an order of tostones (twice-fried flattened plantains), you can't go wrong. They even do great pressed breakfast sandwiches. It's a tiny hole-in-the-wall little spot, but that's usually where you get the best food anyway.

Yelp
Best hot sauce I have ever had in my life!!! Yo me mato is the greatest stuff you will soon be addicted to the heat. Nice family run PR business with great service. I'm always trying to find delicious Empanadas and this place has a ton of variety. Some chicken and cheese, shrimp, spicy seafood, pizza really unique options, can't go wrong with those stuffed potatoes balls or yucca. Mostly take out with hot food ready to go or quick eat in spot to grab a seat for something else on the menu.

Yelp
PLEASE do yourself a favor and don't eat at this place. I saw a server recycle someones soup into another customers bowl. That is one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen at a restaurant. PLEASE STAY AWAY. If you want some good spanish food on Park St just head up another block to El Mercado.

Yelp
El Mercado has nothing on this restaurant so I would really re-consider this, Jose C. I have never seen anything like swapping soup onto another customers and I've gone there more than 8 times. I go there and they feed me like a king. The food is great. El Mercado's always losing the restaurants they have in there. Cuchilandia's no longer there and I loved their food. Now it's all dominicanos cooking nonsense thinking they can cook. Only Americans love their food because they don't know any better. That's like me loving Italian food that tastes like ish to true Italians. As for Aqui Me Quedo, I like the atmosphere, they have a section where you can sit on higher than usual seats on what seems like a bar. It's a small eating area, with only two tables that can seat four people each. And they don't serve soup, They serve up rice and beans with some good escaveche de bacalao. The only thing that sucks is the parking and the neighborhood. Too much loitering and people with nothing to do.

Yelp
Real nice to charge a gringo eleven dollars for rice and beans. You should be ashamed of yourself cowboy.

Yelp
If you love Puerto Rican food...this is a nice spot to go to. They have a variety of Cuchifritos(meat fritters) that are cheap(most are a dollar each), and if you get a meal, they will fill the platter up with rice, beans and platanos(plantains are optional) I usually eat their escaveche and sancocho(PR version of beef stew). I don't live around that area anymore, but when I do come around, I go there to get some good for 10 bucks(might cost you 30 at TGIFridays AND you will get half that plate) but it's like eating at a PR home, :D. The customers are usually people from the surrounding neighborhoods and they are friendly, but they are the regulars from around the way. Some customers even come out with their own Guirros(PR instrument) to play music(usually Fridays), which the owner allows and it's entertaining, it's like being in a small restaurant in Puerto Rico. It's not meant to be a quiet restaurant in my opinion, but I like it that way. :D. It IS a small restaurant, seating at the most 8 people with 6 or so bar stools running along the wall from entrance on in. You will either go there to get something quick for lunch or stay...the seats are never occupied for long because most people don't stay, they take their food to go. good restaurant. What about the customer service? meh, they're feeding you, right? I'm not one to judge customer service because that looks snobbish. UNLESS I get REALLY BAD service to the point that I can't stand the place and don't wan to come back. I will lea a tip them, but I just won't come back there.
