Firstly I wish to applaud and congratulate, Manon on reception, who was EXCEPTIONAL and made our three night stay such a positive experience, with local information as well as having a wonderful personality.
I a beach facing room, which was EXCELLENT, as St Malo has so many islands, fortifications, and lighthouses, so many visible from my room. Add to that there are so many rock formations that show when the tide is out and disappear when it comes in and finally, the sunsets are so wonderful, there to see straight outside my window.
St Malo old town was a 40 minute walk along a wonderful promenade with interesting sights to see all the way into town. The old Cite is AMAZING to wander through and it has an INCREDIBLE city wall to explore with amazing views.
The added benefit is it is a short walk to Plage de Rochebonne via a narrow walkway at the end where when the tide is in waves hit the sea wall and occasionally go over, everyone walking this short distance enjoyed timing their walk, cycle, run, jog. Locals gather at this beach it is a popular evening destination.
