Ar Iniz

"In this fashionable and laid-back place, it is the terrace facing Saint-Malo's superb vast beach and turquoise sea that steals the show. On rainy days (and there are some of those!), you can take refuge inside, in the modern interior. Choose a dish from a menu that meanders between traditional recipes, Breton ingredients and modern touches." - Michelin Inspector

The service was friendly and very accommodating. The food was great and the location is stunning and the atmosphere was fun. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and he was overjoyed with our choice. Will definitely go back. We didn't stay in the hotel so this review only concerns the restaurant.

Had dinner at Ar Iniz recently - the service was professional and friendly and food was fresh and delicious. The chocolate mousse was decadent (also very large...good for sharing!). Hope to return on my next trip to Saint-Malo!

Firstly I wish to applaud and congratulate, Manon on reception, who was EXCEPTIONAL and made our three night stay such a positive experience, with local information as well as having a wonderful personality. I a beach facing room, which was EXCELLENT, as St Malo has so many islands, fortifications, and lighthouses, so many visible from my room. Add to that there are so many rock formations that show when the tide is out and disappear when it comes in and finally, the sunsets are so wonderful, there to see straight outside my window. St Malo old town was a 40 minute walk along a wonderful promenade with interesting sights to see all the way into town. The old Cite is AMAZING to wander through and it has an INCREDIBLE city wall to explore with amazing views. The added benefit is it is a short walk to Plage de Rochebonne via a narrow walkway at the end where when the tide is in waves hit the sea wall and occasionally go over, everyone walking this short distance enjoyed timing their walk, cycle, run, jog. Locals gather at this beach it is a popular evening destination.

read reviews and went with the family to celebrate my birthday, the first thing that was offered was langoustines, and no wet napkins or special utensils. We ordered ravioli for our daughter, foie gras and three oysters for our wife, and a steak for ourselves. We also ordered two servings of Calvados. The ravioli portion is very small even for a child, oysters... I have never seen such small and nondescript ones, some croutons are supposed to be for foie gras... The waiters never came up to us or offered to upgrade anything. My wife and daughter ate and an hour later I asked about the steak... in short, we took the steak with us. The restaurant spoiled the impression not only of itself but of the whole place. 170 euros for all the pleasure. Gentlemen, please write truthful comments, this will help others make the right choice.

Nice bar directly at the digue of Saint Malo (plage Rochebonne). Wide varieties of wines and other drinks. It's not very clear that you can just have a drink, but check out and go!

The hotel was tastefully decorated with a bright, modern nautical/industrial theme and the room was very clean and adequately appointed. Unusually, the room had a separate toilet and shower room. With the hotel being directly on the sea front, we were fortunate to have a room with a sea view and it was nice to be able to open the full height windows and listen to the waves. The old town was visible from the small balcony and could be reached with a 40-minute walk along the sea front. We found the staff to be polite and helpful. The hotel restaurant appeared to be popular, but there were few other options nearby. We ate in the restaurant on only one evening as, unfortunately, the food shared the distinction of being both the worst and most expensive meal of our holiday. Parking is available for guests, but there are only three spaces, plus one disabled space for a total of 22 rooms. Having arrived after a long drive across France, we then had to drive around the local streets for half an hour trying to find a parking space. The nearest was 700m from the hotel, which meant a tiring walk with suitcases on a very hot day. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and, for a 3-star hotel, the accommodation is impressive, but this hotel may not be suitable for those with a car.

We had a meal here at the restaurant yesterday. Our group included two elderly Germans and our two young daughters. Everything was wonderful. A really stunning location, beautiful decor and we all said it was one of the best chicken dishes we’d ever had. Special mention for the gelatos which our daughters loved and to our waiter who went above and beyond to provide great service. We hope to come again one day and highly recommend this restaurant!
