Arabella Hotel, Golf & Spa

Arabella offers stunning views and an exceptionally comfortable environment. The peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal place to relax or focus, and the internet connection is excellent. We spent two full days working from the hotel lobby and found it both comfortable and quiet, with beautiful surroundings throughout. A great balance of productivity and tranquility.

Our leisure stay at Arabella Hotel Golf and Spa fell short of what one would expect from a 5-star hotel. The setting is beautiful, with a lovely park and great lagoon views, and the rooms are comfortable. However, the bathroom and shower feel outdated which is disappointing at this level. Breakfast was mediocre, with limited healthy options. Staff were friendly but slow and inattentive — we repeatedly had to ask for coffee and even a clean tablecloth. The pool is not suitable for adults wanting to swim, as there is no separate area from children. The spa closes early (8pm), and the sauna cannot be used after dinner, which significantly limits the relaxation experience. The most unacceptable moment occurred during a walk in the park, where we were yelled at in an aggressive and rude manner by someone driving a golf cart, telling us we were not allowed to walk there. The person had no staff identification, leaving us unsure who he even was. We raised this with the front desk and were promised a call back from the manager on duty — which never happened. Despite the great location, the service, facilities, and handling of guest complaints do not reflect a true 5-star experience. We won’t be returning.

Large and comfortable rooms, five star service. Best was sitting on our balcony watching the changing colours of the sky and lagoon as the sun set. Magic.|Great breakfast. And Celeste in the dining room went out of her way for our special requests.|Day trips to Hermanus and the winelands.

If you are looking for a out of the norm location, which is only about a half hour drive to two beautiful beaches with shops etc, with great service (and fair prices - converted back to £), then go here, even if only a day visit. Rooms about £400 a night (no all inclusive, they don’t do all inclusive in South Africa). Oh and the food is good!! My Mum could not finish her carrot cake, and Mother likes her cake!!

This place is very tranquil and it has quite a sophisticated feel about it, even when you are lounging in a hotel gown walking to the pools. The rooms are very clean, the service is excellent and the food was good. We had dinner at the restaurant and every morning I enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Even though the hotel is kid-friendly, there aren't many activities for the kids to keep themselves occupied. The hotel itself is also quite a drive from town and other shops.

Arabella is a magnificent estate with great golf course and amenities offered. Top venue to relax and unwind at for a few days and to visit the surrounding areas with many activities to offer. Better to have a car for your own use when visiting if interested to see surrounds.

Called the spa for couples message and to use spa wellness facility. Was informed we could and made booking. Post the couples message we were informed by the Spa manager, Ruth that we may not use the facilities anymore as the hotel was full. Had to just leave and had to walk to hotel reception to use bathroom after the message. Most disgusting behavior ever experienced.

Having stayed at Arabella before, it was noticeable that it is still a excellent hotel and on par with my best expectations. Our room on the ground floor overlooking the lagoon was perfect and nothing can be faulted. Just one thing and I'm not criticizing, but a recommendation, is to ask housekeeping to do the changeover of towels earlier and not at 10pm. The golf course shows why it is in the top 10 in South Africa. A round on Arabella, makes for everlasting memories. I can't fault the food in the restaurant or the service in the bar. I have noticed some reviews criticizing the food, but i can't say the same. Our food was tasty, well-presented and delicious.
