This bakery is my favorite Mexican pastry store! Plenty of pan dulce, tamales, meat empanadas and beautiful & delicious occasion cakes available. Service is always friendly and efficient.

Google
I like the cakes and bekary item here. Great place to have a readymade cake. The Bakery item is fresh and yammi.

My wedding cake came out beautifully. And the flavors were chocolate and vanilla with strawberries inside. Everyone loved the cake.

Lovely Christmas decorations!! My family and I have been going for over 20 years 🤩

Google
Customer service is nice but the food is mediocre honestly. Today I got a dozen of tamales. This were the tamales they gave me. I don't know how to make tamales but I bet they would come out better than these tamales that look like sand. Tried to eat one but it was so dry that it wasn't going through my throat. They need to hire someone else to make these. These were the chicken tamales and I don't see any chicken. It's pure batter/flour.

Google
Wow, what an amazing experience coming and buying bread at Arandas Bakery! Their bread is always fresh and remained fresh for several days after I purchased it. Love the flavor and texture...The decorated cookies with icing are not only beautiful but delicious. AGAIN, the freshest cookies of these kind i have ever had! The service Cesar provided was outstanding. Very professional and had my large order of bread right on point! When I arrived to pick up the cashier was quick to attend to me which I loved. No waiting! My bread got loaded by Rodrigo who was patient with me and very helpful! Much appreciation to all the staff at Arandas Bakery!

Google
The bread here is always fresh and delicious. The bakery is always clean and fresh bread is always coming out. Lorena was very lovely and bagged my items carefully. This is my favorite Arandas location

Google
Always love Arandas bakery and my absolute favorite 3 leches cake. Went Saturday night for some fresh bolillos. Clean and friendly and most of all, fresh baked breads!

Kim K.

Yelp
The place is incredibly clean, which is always a plus! The variety isn't as extensive as the panaderia I typically go to, but they still offer the essentials like conchas, muffins, cookies and empanadas... there's also a coffee bar which pairs perfectly with one of the baked goodies.

Yelp
I ordered this cake over the phone for a birthday. It was a bit difficult since I don't speak Spanish, but they were patient and accommodating and we were able to get the order in and ready for that same day. I'm knocking a star off because the call dropped 4-5 times and every time I called back we would get confused on what I was wanting and then they'd put me on hold for a long time. But!! My order was ready after less than 2 hours of placing it. I had to make a deposit of $10 over the phone and then paid $22 when I picked it up. $32 for this beautiful 8in cake is an amazing price!! Also the cake tasted DELICIOUS and everyone who tried it agreed. When I picked it up, I found the bakery to be very open and inviting. They had pastries all around the walls. I'll be coming back to try something new!

Yelp
Busy as usual great choice of pan Dulce and drinks enough parking space and delicious tres leches

Astrid G.

Yelp
Wall to wall pastries and desserts on the left side of the store. On the right a wall of drinks. Right next in the middle as you walk in you're greater by a case of desserts and a cashier ready to ring you up. Pastries are priced on average $1-3. The wide variety of pastries goes from cookies, muffins to more Hispanic offerings such as conchas, marranitos and guava filled flaky pastries. They also have their famous tres leches available by the slice or the sheet. My favorite are the cheese filled cuernos as the creamy cheese pairs well either way the slightly sweet dough it is paired with. I wish there was a closer location to Sugar Land/Katy but the location keeps me from going every day . If you're in the area absolutely drop by and try something.

R G.

Yelp
Baked goods from Aranda's always fresh and consistently tasty. They carry a wide variety of sweets and cookies with hispanic DNA. Also FRESH bolillos whenever the store is open. They seem to do tremendous business in custom cakes for birthdays, weddings, etc. Tres leches of 5 or six varieties, rice pudding. I have been customer there since it opened, and will continue to go whenever my sweet tooth demands. Guava empanadas, cinnamon rolls, sugar cookies, keep calling me back.

Yelp
The Troggs and later Wet Wet Wet said that Love Is All Arandas, and when you try some of the items from this bakery, you'll agree. This is a chain bakery, from the same folks that bring you Taqueria Arandas (one of the best late night options in Houston, many locations). And so far, every location I've visited makes really good top-notch Mexican pastries and all kinds of goodies. We like it a lot and we've been to many of them, and this one is pretty close to Chinatown and not too far from where we live, so we come here on a fairly regular basis. I think they make everything very well. It's not in the best area in terms of crime and crazy driving, but neither was your mother last night. Now apparently this review was illegal, and now we're surrounded. There are cops all Arandas. Let's eat.

Hue P.

Yelp
Bolillos are 60cents each and pastries i got in pic were $1.25 each. The pastry with almonds was surprisingly filled with cream cheese and a grape- tasting filling and was delicious just like the bolillo. The humidity did not affect the bolillos as they were hard on outside and soft and squishy inside. The line was long at first and then another checker opened up. Place is well lit and big, with pastries in cases. Grab a tray and tongs on way in. The names of the pastries was pretty much unreadable, but i am sure everything is tasty.

Yelp
I swear I had an review at Arandas Bakery from years ago. Anyways... It's a major improvement since last time I was here. Everything is still wide open, even before Covid-19 pandemic. Yelp prompted me to ask is it "open for dine in". I guess they saw Maria S wrote. With so many people crowding the store during the holidays, there was no place to walk in the store. So the answer is no. The improvement was the staff became more attentive and friendlier toward me, a non-Latino person (they don't know I'm a Hispanic). The products were fresher than I originally wrote. It is like I found a new breakfast spot that opens all day. Tamales are tasty. They came in a pack of 3. I can mix half chicken and half pork. Chicken is supposed to be spicier. They both use red sauce, pork tamales got darker center. Otherwise, I couldn't tell them from the husks. Empanadas were so soft, I think it was supposed to be crunchy but that was last batch of the day. Because she said only chicken left. It's baked. And, I need a plate and fork to indulge. I just wish they label each bread with name, price and allergens ingredients. I really want to try those new breads in the display cases. With self serve coffee and chocolate machines, I would need to find a park nearby to enjoy.

Erica G.

Yelp
I have to say that I have no idea why there were so many people that rated Arandas Bakery so low. This place has just about everything that somebody craving pan dulce would need! They have cute little emoji cookies and all sorts of cool conchas! Even unicorn conchas! I didn't see one thing that this place lacked.. They were very covid safe and had somebody with a mask and gloves pick the pastries for you so there wasn't many people going near the open items. Would definitely return! Ignore these other ratings! Lol

Edra Y.

Yelp
Aranda's bakery makes me like sweets! Imagine waking up on Sunday morning, starting your fresh coffee, drive down the street and enter a bakery wonderland filled with all kinds of sweets for ANY person including people who don't like sweets that much. As you enter to your right you will find a big sheet pan with tongs. Make your way down the many displays of sweets and some savory items such as fresh kolaches and bread. All items don't exceed $1.50 It's like a dollar store for goodies! You go for one treat and you end up buying 25 treats with a bill of less than 15$. Everyone is nice and friendly, cards accepted. Don't feel intimidated, just go. Again soooo many treats! From cookies to churros dipped in Nutella from conchas to blueberry danishes. Omg.

Tracy V.

Yelp
Mr. Ricardo Hernandez help support Northside high school out with some delicious sweet bread. I would like to thank him for his support

Yelp
I never met an Arandas bakery I didn't like and this establishment is no different! Do not come hungry or you will leave with a whole entire bakery, lol. The best thing, for me, about this bakery is that it is immaculately clean and shining! They make sure it is spotless! Now, this is a bakery that specializes in delicious pan dulce but they also have cookies, cakes, doughnuts and delicious bolillos baked fresh multiple times throughout the day . You can purchase flan, chocoflan, tres leche, fruit tarts or strawberry tarts. They also have birthday cakes. I love the fresh and hot bolillos. I eat them plain or toasted with strawberry jelly. So good! My absolute favorite item is their vanilla conchas. Slightly sweet and topped with lightly crunchy fine sugar. They are perfect to eat with coffee, milk, or a hot chocolate! Speaking of hot chocolate and coffee, they serve thst fresh too. As well as tamales, water, milk, juice and sodas. I shall return!

Sadia Q.

Yelp
Insanely huge variety, just the right amount of sweet. I am in love and in awe of their dry buns and pasteurisé. My favorite is cheese filled variety. The proportion of butter, cheese and sugar is heavenly. Staff is super sweet to even non Spanish speaking first timers like myself.

Jose D.

Yelp
I always come to this bakery and buy the same thing. Chocolate conchas. And I buy around 30-50 of them. My kids love them. I use to walk in and get the platters from inside the display. And they told me I couldn't do that, that if I wanted a large amount to let them know and they'll get them ready for me from the back. This was a while back so now I call ahead and asked them that I want X amount of conchas and by the time I get there they have them ready for me. Some times I'll pay by the phone some times I pay when I get there. So today I call ahead 30 mins and I asked the lady I want a box of conchas only chocolate flavor. She places me on hold comes back and tells me she can not set them aside fir me. So I'm like since when, she tells me that if I want to place an order I have to pay over the phone. So I'm like OK that's fine. By now I'm 5 mins out. So I tell her hey I'm here already and she hangs up on me. So I'm inline inside the bakery and I call again. I explain what I wanted and again she says that it can not be done. I tell her that if I get all the conchas from the display there won't be anymore for other customers, that that's why they get them from the back for me. Well eventually she gets my order I wait inline to pay. She is completely upset because apparently I got away with it. N E Ways I'm not saying the customer is always right. I'm saying don't be rude if things don't work out the way you want to. And if your having a bad day don't take it out on the customer.

Vanessa R.

Yelp
The staff is very friendly and helpful. A very nice lady named Lucy didn't hesitate to help my husband and I. She looked up our cake order and quickly brought us the cake. Lucy was very attentive and so nice. She showed us the cake to ensure we were happy with it before checking out. Which by the way their cakes are beautifully made, and are so delicious! I was impressed by their customer service. My family and I highly recommend this place!

Sasha H.

Yelp

Chris H.

Yelp
Came here with my mom on New Year's Eve! We were in the area and craving something sweet after lunch. Stopped by and it was packed. The bakery was spacious and the line to pay was easy to navigate. The staff was quick and efficient. We've been to Arandas a few times because my grandfather loved the flan here. We ordered 4 flans at $2.25 a piece. We also got 2 white bread ($0.4 each), 1 giant croissant ($0.8), and 1 fried/round/sugary/flat bread ($1, I don't know the name since everything was in Spanish). Compared to Asian bakeries/restaurants, Arandas' flan, breads, and pastries are cheaper. Everything we ordered was good, but the flan was hands down our favorite and go-to dessert that we order from here. Highly recommend everyone to try this place out. Awesome, affordable bakery!

Tom C.

Yelp
This little bakery has everything. Bread, cookies, empanadas, danishes, muffins, cakes - everything I'm not supposed to eat. But, it was Sunday and after a rough week. I figured, live a little. We loaded up our tray with bolillo bread, conchas, cookies, cream cheese filled empanada, and a marble muffin. Everything was delicious and fresh. If your looking for a bakery, this is the place.

Yelp
My wedding cake came from here for an Indian and Russian wedding. I loved it. Our wedding was 11 years ago. It is still the best cake I tasted. Our families loved tres leches. It was a glorius multi layer multi flavored with different fruit in tres leches. I was very happy. 11 years later I still smile thinking of this beautiful yummy cake. Merlyn P.

Yelp
We enjoyed a yummy concha last night as they represented our Hispanic community at an event. All the sweet bread looked delicious. My 4 yr old wanted a concha and she definitely enjoyed eating the sugar powder on top. Soooo delicioso! Conchas are amazing and this one was very fluffy and flavorful!

Patricia R.

Yelp
The Pan dulce is so delicious and the cake is extra good also love the coffee...Great customer service..

Steven T.

Yelp
Very affordable pastries! This was my first time trying out a Mexican bakery; I got their apple pie, concha, and churro. The concha was the highlight imo. I think sweet soy milk and concha would make a perfect pairing! Will definitely come back to try more pastries

Maria D.

Yelp
Officially obsessed with this place! I don't know whatbthe breads are called but I just grab whatever looks good and it always turn out to be good! I got addicted to a brown muffin looking corn bread and that pastry bread above it with the cream filling in the middle. Ughhh bro. MY QAURANTINE WEIGHT IS LITERALLY FROM THIS. It's really good

Diana A.

Yelp
Was in the mood for topo Chico and corn bread. Found topo Chico but price has increased. Unfortunately, no corn bread and settled for yam pastry and corn cupcake. I was 6th in line and it took over 10 minutes through line and that's with 2 cashiers. Try to bring cash because it's less of a hassle compared to using a card. Kids were roaming free with unattended parents while officer just observed. Parking is tight though plentiful. Stop in early at beginning of week because they offer more selection. I only saw pork or chicken tamales so not sure if they still offer cheese tamale. Also, I didn't see any bread pudding by registers. Maybe it was an off week for them.

Matt W.

Yelp
What an incredible family owned business! Arandas Bakery deserves highest compliments for delicious baked goods. From classic pan dulces, cookies, cakes, breads and an array of DELICIOUS & BEAUTIFUL pies. The staff deserves highest praise for polite and helpful service. Their strawberry glazed cheesecake is so decadent! Would give them 10 STARS if I could!!! Hands down, the BEST bakery in Houston. Matt & Bessie W.

Laura L.

Yelp
Tamales have no pork or chicken just masa. I have tried contacting them but no manager on duty. I bought three dozen tamales and was sold just masa.

Jessica V.

Yelp
Bad service, ordered a birthday cake and it look nothing like expected. They also misspelled the name. For what they charge you would expect the cakes to look better, even a cake from Kroger looks way better than theirs. Their work looked messy and rushed. If I could give zero stars I would.

Pearl U.

Yelp
If i could give this place a negative rating, I most definitely would. I ordered a cake on my birthday, brought it to my party and tried serving it.... this cake was absolutely terrible!!!!!!!! TERRRIIIIBBBLLLLLEEEEE WHAT!?!!!! I've had my share of poor tasting cakes, but this tasted like pure POISON. I'm actually gagging thinking about it. I tried returning it the next day and they told me it was past the 24 hour return window. it's the following day sis, WHAT YOU MEAN!?!?!?! Long story short they didn't refund me and So i left that cancerous cake on the table and LEFT. Never ever ever EVERRRRR order from here. I was nauseous from the cake AND from the lack of professionalism. What made matters worse, is that she said "all dark colors of icing aren't good on cake and make the cake taste bad." HUUUUUUH? I almost told her to shut up. Worst experience EVER!

Chabeli W.

Yelp
Childtime (Sugarland location) had an amazing tour here. The staff was so friendly. The children were so excited to be behind the scenes of the bakery! They were even more excited when they got to decorate their own cupcakes. This definitely was one of the summer field trip favorites! We will be back next summer!

Kim N.

Yelp
Fantastic place to buy tres leches cakes for events! I bought a graduation cake last week - service was friendly and fast. The cake design turned out better than expected and the flavor was fantastic! I bought the 8 inch tres leches cake with fruit inside for $27. Great value and highly recommend this place!

Amy K.

Yelp
We got a wedding cake made from here. We chose a plain white and added flowers ourselves. It turned out really nice. There aren't any fake tiers. It's all actual cake, it was a little too much cake for us. But still absolutely worth it for the reasonable price we paid. Definitely recommend.

Klash H.

Yelp
Chicken tamales always the right spice and a good price. Ordered 2 dozen. I usually freeze 1 dozen for my next tamale fix.

Paula S.

Yelp
I love there pastries. They are not too sweet and perfect with a cup of coffee or glass of milk. The Snail Shells with cream cheese are amazing. The cream cheese flavor goes all the way through every bite. I would recommend to others if they are looking for a wonderful pastry.

Rachel S.

Yelp
the pastries are so cheap and delicious! my boyfriend and i love coming here for the tamales and their concha's :) it's my favorite way to spend a sunday!

Beth B.

Yelp
A great bakery. Went for a tres leches cake and ended up with 4 slices, each one different and delicious. Also picked other baked goods from a wide variety available. Will go back in the future.

Elijah D.

Yelp
I was never a big fan of Tres Leches cake, but Arandas has changed my mind. They have a special where graduates can customize a free personal cake, and mine turned out excellent. Such a nice way to congratulate the community. Moist cake, sweet frosting, fresh fruit. Can't ask for more.

Chris R.

Yelp
Overrated, Crowded, Security follows you every step you take, The girls on the counter / register are rude, There is a minimum to spend or else they don't run your credit card. Definitely a place for nacos and low class people. Very disappointed over all.

Sylvia O.

Yelp
I absolutely recommend them. I call 3 days ahead the baby shower to ask for artesanal cookies and send them a picture of how I wanted them and they say yes. Charged me $1.75 per each cookie it should be less if you ask for a dozen but it was worth it.

Maria S.

Yelp
Arandas Bakery has it together. While I don't believe they have the best Mexican bread bakery, the place is really clean. Moreover, they have tamales, sodas, homemade tortillas and La Abuelita hot chocolate. They have a machine where you can get different types of coffee, including coffee mixed with hot chocolate. What the bakery needs is high stools with chairs for people to enjoy their bread at the store. More than once I've wanted to enjoy my bread right there instead of in my car, where I get lots of sugar on the seat. Please take heed manager, and add some tables and chairs. If you think you don't have enough space, try putting a bar-like table with stools next to the window.

Jazlyn T.

Yelp
Growing up in the SW area, where my grandma still lives, I remember always seeing the sign outside with the baker pointing to the store entrance. Great branding as I still recognize as an adult. I've been craving churros and my fiance said Arandas has them. Perfect, right around the corner from my grandmas! First time in here, I came in on Father's Day (oops) and the line was long! Moved, but long. You come in and immediately on the left hand side are where the trays and tongs are to get your goodies. I got 3 churros, 1 sweet bread and 1 palmier for $3 and some change. If you know basic spanish, you're good. If you don't know any - have them translate the total for you at checkout lol. The only reason why I made this 3 stars is because I looked for mexican wedding cookies but did not seem to find them... And the oils from the bread soaked through the bag. Also, what I think are the churros - there is a STRONG stench to it, not a pleasant one and still lingers. I have placed them in a ziploc and try not to use my nose when I eat them.

Iris R.

Yelp
I've had tres leches cake from several places but here it's the best hands down! It's the perfect amount of milk, not too moist, not too dry; how tres leches is suppose to be. My family has been getting birthday cakes from here for about 8 years, they have never failed us. And pricing is very reasonable, can't go wrong. You can tell by all the pictures I post on different occasions. We usually get the $30 square cake which feeds about 40 people. Our usual is the fruit filled but last cake we ordered we took a big risk by changing it up from our norm.... Coffee filling. Essentially the cake is submerged in coffee. Delicious. It was a true hit at our celebration.

Priscilla D.

Yelp
I ordered the assorted pastries on Uber eats and the photo is super misleading. I specifically asked for a specific item which I didn't get in my bag.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Do not order a cake from this place. I came to this location on Monday and ordered a specific cake for my boyfriends birthday. I told the lady I needed it for Friday. She said ok So come Friday (which is today) I walked into the store ready to pick up the cake for the baker to come out and tell me my cake is gone! I am livid asking him what is he talking about my cake is gone he says it was an emergency and it left. I am still confused and beyond mad. My only option was to go to the party without a cake for everyone or use one of the cakes they already had ready. I unfortunately had to choose the latter one. I will never order from this place ever again they ruined a birthday with there incompetence! I Also want to add that while I was waiting they had messed up on someone else's cake! In which she ordered 2 weeks ago for her father from out of state. (She was also furious) DO NOT ORDER YOUR CAKE FROM HERE!!!!!!!!!

Amanda M.

Yelp
Pretty nice bakery- huge building but surprisingly a lot of empty space inside that could be occupied by more pastries. You say MORE pastries?!? Yes. MORE. Sure, they have a large selection. But yet they still lack some of my favorites! I did enjoy quite a few offerings here, like the cherry filled pastry, the sweet bread, and the chocolate croissant. But I'm sad to say that their cream filled donut was terrible. The cream was lumpy- more like a tapioca pudding consistency. Too bad! Their prices are also a bit higher than other similar bakeries. The parking lot is big though and the place is clean. I really wanted this to be my go-to bakery. But for now, Tierra Caliente still wins (Even though some of their workers are rude- to Spanish speakers nonetheless! Help me find another bakery!).

Nnajindu O.

Yelp
Cake looked how it tasted! Placement of the numbers and name were misaligned. Cake was saggy

Mari M.

Yelp
I went to their bakery yesterday and had the worst customer service experience! Not sure who that man was if he was a Manager or maybe just another employee! I asked for a room temperature bottle water and he told me "take the water bottle home and put it in the microwave to warm it up" I told him I was thirsty and wanted to drink the water now and not until I got home he then stated that to get a room temperature water bottle he would have to open a new case of water. My response to him was well to fill up the fridge wouldn't you have to own a new case anyways?? He just looked at me and walked away... ugh customer service is very important!

Claudia H.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that the bread is good, my family buys bread here two to three times a week, but after my last visit, i don't think we are coming back. The security guard is very rude and follows you around the bakery, like if you were going to steal the bread. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me that the guard is just doing her job. So the guard job is to make you feel uncomfortable while you are there, especially if you have children with you. So, if you want to feel like a criminal on watch ,come here.

Genevieve A.

Yelp
Is there a way to leave no stars??? Cuz this place is UNDESERVING. A friend ordered a birthday cake for her birthday party and when I tell you, that thing tasted like pure CRAP........... it was a tres leches that was fully iced with purple icing. First off, the dye used on the cake had to be cancerous and poisonous... it was bitter and was leaving stains on people's hands. Talk about a disappointment. Please just stick to regular cakes and regular colored frosting. CUZ THIS AINT IS SIS.

Michelle P.

Yelp
I grew up in this area and going to this bakery was like a ritual. I remember the delicious bread it used to sell but it has taken its turn. After 6 long years, I passed by and ordered the tres leches cake that I loved. It was the driest thing I have ever gotten. Their bolillos are pale-er than chalk and the sweet bread is Like a rock! I can see why this place is slowly going downhill. Sad because it used to be amazing!
