"Founded in Tukwila and expanded to Ballard, Arashi focuses on the tonkotsu-style ramen associated with the island of Kyushu in southern Japan. The porky broth is available in shio (salt), shoyu (soy sauce), miso, and spicy miso varieties, and black garlic is a good twist to the tonkotsu miso option. It doesn’t say on the menu, but you can (and should) customize your noodles’ firmness. Ask for firm (katamen) or extra firm (barikata) to avoid the default overcooking to slightly soft." - Jay Friedman

The food was decent. The tonkatsu salt broth was a little bland. Next time I will get soy sauce flavor. The gyōzas were good. The karage had a good flavor but the chicken was pretty chewy. The curry rice bowl was really tasty with just the right amount of spice. We were disappointed that we got a can of soda with no free refills. The reason for one less star is because the service wasn't great. She wasn't friendly and we spoke Japanese and she didn't know what we said and pronounced the name of the restaurant incorrectly. Maybe it's just us but if you work at a Japanese restaurant, you should, at least, pronounce the words right. Decent tasting food, although a bit pricey. If you don't mind spending more for less, this is a good place to eat.

The food was really tasty but the portion size for the price was a little off... I would have liked to have a bit more ramen for the price. The music was very loud. One of the servers was moderately personable, but the other server was unfriendly borderline rude. I don't like that in America we are forced to tip even if the service is bad. I left wondering if it was worth all the money. So that's my honest review of arashi ramen southcenter.

I was impressed by how fast the ramen was served here! It was simple yet delicious, hitting all the right notes. It's great that they offer vegan ramen options, and their selection of Japanese beer is pretty good too. Definitely a solid spot!

An amazing ramen place. We started off with Edamame and karage chicken. Edamame was good but the honey garlic karage chicken was super delicious. The meat was tender and juicy. Now coming to Ramen. We tried the Spicy Miso and Vegan Ramen. Both were delicious. Especially the spicy miso. The meat was super tender and the noodles were a perfect compliment. The service is quick. The ambience is basic but decent. 100% a place I will come back to repeatedly.

Another re-visit (2023-11). Unfortunately their service is really going down the hill. There’s no greeting, no courtesy, no gesture of appreciation, and of course no smiles. I have to downgrade this restaurant because of their service attitude. Excellent ramen broth! Has such rich flavors in every sip. The half-egg was done to perfection. Texture of the pork belly slice melts in your mouth. Also love the Japanese fried chicken. Very crispy crust with tender juicy meat inside. Presentation was very good too. Dining room has small tables with pretty tight space to your neighbor diners - like a typical Japanese restaurant. Service was attentive and efficient. Although could be more cheerful. Re-visited this place. The food quality is very consistent. Although the service is shy of the Japanese culture standards. Re-visit 5/2024. Same comments as last visit. Ramen is one of the best. They could score perfect if service is improved.

Hello! The Trekking Pawns here! Had time before having to go to the airport, so had lunch here and it was fantastic!! Very comparable to ramen we’ve had in Japan! The broth was so flavorful that I drank all of it. Left nothing behind. If you like spice, they do it very well! (There is also a veg option with veg broth.) We got the spicy miso tonkotsu and a Rashi ramen. So yummy!

My husband is a big fan of Japanese food, so I will share his experience. He had a great experience. The service was good and very fast. The food was delicious, specially the ramen. I find the dining area to be a little bit tight, like you can sit at your table and hear everything your neighbors are discussing and smell their food, because they are really close to you, so no privacy. 🤭 They don’t offer any dessert options either. In general, the experience was good.

Awesome raman place off Southcenter Parkway. I had the #14 spicy raman and it was delicious.
