Relaxed restaurant serving vegan versions of Thai favorites, including various gluten-free options.
"From strip mall joints to Ryan Gosling’s favorite restaurant, it’s no secret - LA is home to some of the best Thai food in the country. And while there’s no shortage of incredible places throughout the city, there aren’t many that specialize in vegan fare. Well, not good vegan fare, that is. The clear winner here is Araya’s Place - from their vegetable rice cakes to tom yum soup made with tofu and an outstanding avocado curry, this all-vegan spot in Beverly Grove is a great choice for plant-eaters and omnivores alike. Available for delivery." - kat hong
"Dish: Avocado Curry For all the incredible Thai restaurants we have in LA, very few focus on vegan dishes and do them well. Araya is the exception. This all-vegan spot in Beverly Grove has been around for decades and has a fantastic menu filled with vegetable rice cakes to tom yum soup with tofu. The star of the show though is the avocado curry. Cooked in a sweet green curry and filled with both soft and fried tofu, bell peppers, and fresh avocado, this is an immensely hearty dish and one I find myself going back to several times a month." - brant cox
"Araya’s Place, located in a Beverly Grove strip mall, started in Seattle and has been around for decades. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about their avocado curry more than I probably should. The green curry itself is outstanding, but the avocado is such a great addition, you wonder why you don’t see this combination more often." - Brant Cox
"This all-vegan spot inside a Beverly Grove strip mall has been around for almost 30 years, and while we’ll always prefer our curry with meat, we’d be lying if we said we didn’t think about their avocado curry more than we probably should. Expect plenty of other vegan highlights through their menu as well. Delivery available through most platforms." - brant cox
"On Beverly Boulevard in Fairfax, there’s a vegan and gluten-free Thai restaurant called Araya’s Place, owned by Cheri Kim. Kim’s family has always believed that in order to make food great, you need the right ingredients and herbs, but also good company. So, family dinners have always been a priority. This is something that has carried over to Araya’s Place, inviting customers to eat and experience life one moment and one meal at a time. The expansive menu includes traditional Thai cuisine but is made vegan from stir fry to curries and fried rice to noodles. I go back and forth with ordering the spring and fresh rolls depending on the day, but always stick with a noodle dish when it comes to Thai food, so the drunken mushroom is my selection almost every time." - esther cho, with warm welcome
