Location, price and service were great. The room was decent, however the bright white light bulbs made the room feel like a grocery store and did not provide a relaxing atmosphere. The king sized bed was a little too firm and better quality pillows would have been appreciated. The bedding was nice. We have previously stayed at the Alt Hotel down the street and would spend the extra money next time for the better experience. However, this is a great lower budget option.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5 Great location for exploring downtown Ottawa! ARC The Hotel is in an unbeatable location—just a short walk to Parliament Hill, the Rideau Centre Mall, restaurants, coffee shops, and major attractions. If you’re visiting Ottawa and want to be close to everything, this hotel is incredibly convenient. Room & Comfort: The room itself was clean and comfortable, but felt a bit outdated in terms of décor and style. However, everything worked well and it got the job done for a city stay. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet, which made for good rest after a long day of exploring. Housekeeping: The only downside was that fresh towels and toiletries were not replaced daily, which would have been appreciated. Consistent housekeeping would definitely improve the guest experience. Convenience & Services: One of the best features was the luggage storage after checkout—very helpful if you want to keep exploring the city before heading out. The front desk staff were friendly and efficient, and check-in/check-out was smooth. Extras to Note: • Easy access to public transit • Safe and walkable area • Stylish boutique atmosphere in the lobby • Good value for the location • Quiet property despite being downtown Overall: ARC The Hotel is a great choice for travelers who want convenience, walkability, and value in the heart of Ottawa. With a few small updates and more consistent housekeeping, it could easily be a top-tier boutique stay. I’d stay here again for the location alone!

The staff is incredibly nice! Great location and pricing for needs. Only big problem is The lighting in the rooms is atrocious - bright white eco bulbs that take away any relaxing vibes. Learned that other guests actually went out to drugstore to buy new bulbs to make the room tolerable!

I had a very quick, easy check in because I completed pre check in online. If you get a text and email with your name and this hotel, it’s likely legitimate. Pre check in made the in‑person process take less than a minute.||||Room 515 had a few issues: the desk light never worked, and the fridge initially wasn’t cold. After notifying the front desk, they fixed the fridge, but the desk light stayed out.||||Some improvements would require renovation: a light inside the closet (which is where the safe is very dark), easier bedside light switches (current switches require bending behind the dresser), and extra drawers (there’s only one, though there’s open shelving). There’s a small dent on the wall from the swing bar deadbolt in the unlocked position.||||Blackout curtains work very well (I couldn’t tell night from morning). One side of the bed has two outlets and two USB ports on the dresser; the other side’s outlet is behind the dresser. No clocks are provided, bring one if you need the time. The safe is firmly bolted to the floor and roomy enough for a laptop.||||Room cleaning was flawless; staff even left my pillow arrangement intact. Noise isolation was excellent, I couldn’t hear neighboring rooms, even when nearby doors closed.||||Wi‑Fi was fine for browsing and light video, but inconsistent. A speed test at ~9pm showed 4.82 Mbps down / 4.90 Mbps up; daily random re‑authentications and slower speeds at times made it unreliable for video calls. There’s an Ethernet jack at the desk, but you must bring your own cable.||||Elevators are small and on the slower side, rated for nine people, but with luggage/backpacks realistically fit about three people.||||A complimentary water bottle was left daily on the dresser, a pleasant unadvertised touch.||||Overall: quiet hotel, short walk to multiple public transit stops and Parliament Hill. Good if you want a simple, peaceful room and don’t need much other than to sleep and use the bathroom.

Google
Wonderful stay, nice rooms. I would echo what another guest said inthat the lighting was a little too bright, but otherwise the rooms were clean, comfortable and relaxing. Staff were excellent and super inviting. Prime location to many downtown hotspots. I'll be coming back!

Google
The hotel is located in the convenient location. Overall the stay was pleasant except the washroom. The water pressure was terrible and it was hard to take a shower. Definitely needs some renovation and remodelling. The staff is friendly and the overall experience is nice.

Google
I had a very quick and easy check in because I did the pre check in online. If you get a text and email that mentions your name and this hotel to check in, it most likely is legitimate. This isn't communicated anywhere before hand. Doing the pre check in made the in-person process take less than a minute. I did face a few issues with the room I stayed in (room 515), such as the light by the desk didn't turn on, and the fridge wasn't cold. After talking with the front desk about these, they did get the fridge working, but the light never worked my entire stay. There are a few things I wish they would change to improve the room, but I understand these would require the room being renovated. Such as a light inside the closet (where the safe is), as currently a flashlight is required to see inside there. The switches to turn on the lights beside the bed require bending over and almost going behind the dresser (would be nicer if the switch was easy to access on top of the dresser), there is also a small dent where the swing bar deadbolt reaches the wall (in the unlocked position). There is also only one drawer, but plenty of otherwise open spaces to put clothing. The black-out curtains did work well (so well in fact, I couldn't tell when it was midnight or 9am). On one side of the bed there is a spot on top of the dresser with two plug outlets and 2 USB ports. If you did want to plug anything in on the other side, there is one unused outlet which is behind the dresser. There aren't any alarm clocks or other clocks in the room, so if you need to know the time, then I suggest bringing your own. The safe was also secured very well to the floor (so no need to worry about someone running away with the safe), it's also plenty big (fits a laptop with room all around). Room was cleaned flawlessly, and they even kept the same pillow arrangement that I had set before leaving for the day. In the room, I couldn't hear anyone in any nearby room (including when they had closed the door) which is really nice. While the Wi-Fi was usable for browsing the internet, and light video watching, the speed test I did (at around 9pm) gave the results of 4.82mbps down and 4.90mbps up. While that looks good on paper, it was unsteady and every day required re-authenticating at a seemly random time, which mean it's unusable for video calls or anything that requires heavy and steady internet. They do offer an ethernet jack by the desk, but they require you to bring your own cable. The elevators are a bit on the slower side and small. While the certificate states 9 people can fit, in my experience if anyone has a backpack or luggage, then at most three people can fit. In the room each day was a new water bottle sitting on the dresser, which again wasn't mentioned anywhere ahead of time, but a nice touch. Overall, if you're looking for a hotel that is quiet, with a short walk to multiple public transit stops of Parliament Hill, and you don't need much from a room. then I think this is a good place to stay.

Google
Had a lovely time staying here. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels and I truly enjoyed my experience here. I found the room to be very comfortable and clean. I enjoyed my sleep which was important to me. The hotel also has a restaurant with a fabulous menu. I also enjoyed how central the hotel was which made it easy to get around on foot. I will definitely be staying here again and would certainly recommend this hotel for your next stay. Thank you so much.

Yelp
This was a lovely and affordable place to stay in a very convenient spot of town! It was within walking distance to Parliment Hill, the Rideau Canal, Rideau Centre, ByWard Market, etc. It was also very close to public transit, such as the subway line. We found a deal online and it was about ~$100 per night for a Queen bedroom (which was upgraded to a King bedroom). The lady at the front desk was also super friendly and upgraded our room after noticing how tall my boyfriend was. Everything seemed very clean and the service was amazing. We didn't have any issues at all during our stay. My favourite part about this place was that were able to get virtually anywhere just by stepping outside. The only things I felt that were missing in the room that would have made this place perfect was a lock box, a mini fridge and a coffee machine. I also wish that there was complimentary water available in the room. I saw from the other reviews that they were given directly from the staff but I did not receive any. If you want some, I would recommend asking directly. However, for the price I paid, I really could not complain!!! My favourite part of the room was the washroom because of the excessive amount of mirrors, especially since I'm short and it is hard to get close to the mirror. We did not have any issues with the wifi at all. When I went, it was still room service only for their food and we did not order any. There was also a TV in the room. Overall, it was very worth it for the price!! Thank you so much for the hospitality!!

Yelp
They took my deposit and said it'd take 2 weeks to flatten the balance on file Never stay here!

Yelp
Check in and out was frustrating. The room was musky and didn't feel clean. The also have floor lamps that easily fall over an break, which cost me an extra $80. The key cards never work and need to be reprogrammed often. Wendy checking me out was very rude and full of attitude. I tried to give feedback and was given an eye roll and she walked away at some point and just didn't come back. I'm so unimpressed I've canceled my future visits and told my company travel agent not to book this hotel any more. Just goes to show how rude staff and bad policies ruin a hotel experience.

Yelp
LOCATION: Excellent. Conveniently located in downtown Ottawa within walking distance to Parliment Hill, the Rideau Canal, Rideau Centre, ByWard Market, etc. PRICE: ~$200/night PARKING: Valet parking ~$30/night ARC the Hotel is a pet-friendly boutique hotel. In the lobby, there is fruit infused water during the day & ginger infused hot chocolate (that you can sprinkle some cinnamon onto) during the evening for you to enjoy. We did not receive a complimentary glass of sparkling wine upon arrival despite our reservation confirmation saying so. The majority of the time, there was a hotel staff member who would open the doors for you & greet you. There was a bit of a mix up with the Valet on the first night who brought us the wrong car (same make, model & colour though). Aside from that, the Valet was usually very prompt & friendly. We had 2 adults & 2 children in a double room (two double beds). The room was small but adequate, which included a desk, desk chair, side chair, TV & stand (the mini fridge, safe & Keurig machine were located inside). The radiator was a bit loud so I'd wake up every time it came on during the night. There were 2 complimentary bottles of water every day. The bathroom had a tub shower & a single vanity. It was clean but seemed a bit run down (please refer to the bathroom picture). The toiletries had a manlier, woodsy/musky scent to them. There were 2 bathrobes hanging in the closet by the front door but there were no slippers as indicated on their website. We requested 2 pairs of slippers from the front desk when we were on our way out to dinner & they had them waiting inside our hotel room upon our return. You can sign into their network with your room number & last name to access their free wifi (which was a bit slow) or paid wifi. We did not eat at the ARC Lounge & Bar or use the Fitness Centre.

Yelp
ARC is a lovely boutique hotel in downtown Ottawa. Walking distance to Parliament, the Market, Rideau Centre, Bank Street, Financial District - it's in the perfect location. The hotel rooms are cozy with comfortable beds and good quality linens. Very clean and quiet with all the amenities you may need. Front desk staff were very friendly, helpful and greeted us with a glass of champagne. They were more than happy to assist with dinner recommendations and assured us that if we needed anything, they would be eager help. Valet and housekeeping were always full of smiles. Room service is quick and very good. The lounge also has great menu items that are cooked to perfection. The lounge is also a nice spot to stop by for a good cocktail. The bartenders are very good. Would be happy to return to this hotel soon.

Was not impressed. Computers down for 2 days had to pay up front. No drinking glasses in room. VERY LOUD air conditioner in room. No parking HAIR in shower/tub not mine.

Yelp
I stayed here for a weekend trip with friends recently. The location was perfect for us because we were going to see a performance at the NAC, which is a 5 minute walk away. I paid online weeks in advance and as a result, got a special rate of $90/night for each Queen room. One of our rooms got updated to a King room for free! If you can find deals like that, it's great value. I have stayed at the nearby Mariott and the Westin, both more expensive. But I really like ARC better -- everything was very clean, looked new and well cared for, and the decor is simple and stylish. ROOM: nice attention to detail and all the amenities you would expect. I loved the super-soft Egyptian cotton sheets and the Frette robes. There is a scale in the washroom, just in case you want to feel bad about the Beavertails or poutine you just ate... Turn-down service includes a dark chocolate on your pillow, plus a bottle of water and their signature green apples. LOBBY: Nice spacious area with coffee/tea at all hours and a selection of newspapers in English and French. There is also one computer/printer. GYM: empty most of the time. One elliptical, one bike, one stairmaster, and a couple treadmills. There are also free weights, a fitness ball, and a yoga mat. Everything you need is there -- towels, water, and more of those apples. BAR: very trendy atmosphere, although completed dead on a Saturday night. Fun martinis on the menu, several recipes from famous guests who have stayed here. I would definitely stay here the next time I am in Ottawa. (On a side note, and out of the control of management but... my friends were staying in a room where their neighbours were really noisy and came home at 4am making tons of noise. They called the front desk but the front desk couldn't really do anything. I think the noise was even worse because there was a door joining their room and their noisy neighbours' room... The staff felt bad and gave us our valet parking for free and also offered us free breakfast, although we didn't take the breakfast).

Yelp
I had to make an unexpected trip to Ottawa so I was lucky to find a good rate here on Hotwire. The hotel is located right in the heart of downtown Ottawa and is about a five to ten minute walk from Parliament Hill. It has a modern and funky vibe to it which made me feel cool for staying there. They even give you a complimentary glass of wine upon check-in. Moving onto the room it was kind of small and it felt a little cramped. The window was also pretty small so between that and the dark colour scheme of the room there was a serious lack of natural light during the day. While the room was clean in general certain details were off. For example, the towels were frayed and could have been replaced. They looked pretty shabby. Another downside for me was that certain amenities were more expensive than other hotels in the area. Valet parking was $32 + tax when it is $27 at other nearby ones. They also charge for internet which is something that you can get for free if you're staying at the Marriott which isn't too far away. Staff here are all super friendly and helpful. It was raining when I got to the hotel so the valet parking attendant came to meet me at my car with an umbrella so I wouldn't have to get wet. They also were pretty quick to get me my car when I needed it. The front desk people were also efficient and friendly. My experience here as a whole was okay. While there were positives there were also a few negatives. If you can find a really good discount then it might be worth it to stay here but if not you might want to look somewhere else.

Yelp
Clean hotel but doesnt worth 250$ per night AT ALL the breakfast Was Really not good. Staff was nice though. Definitely won't come back

Yelp
A nice stay at the arc hotel. The hotel staff were quick to respond to our requests and the location was great for heading out in the evening. The food at the restaurant was also very pretty and tasted great. It would have been a bit better if we didn't have to wait so long to be served, but otherwise it was lovely.

Yelp
If I could put 0 stars I would, I was woken up at 3am in the morning from someone knocking on my door and then when I went downstairs to check out when it was 11 am I got asked what room I was in and they said they were giving me a noise violation ticket of $250 dollars, they said I came in drunk from a Hyandai Elantra when I own a bmw and it was parked in the underground parking, they said I was knocking on doors when I went to sleep at 9 pm, they charged my credit card when I said I wanted to pay cash the day before, they didn't give me the option to do so either she did it before I even checked out and she was being very snobby and childish and said she would not have a conversation with me with out saying she is going to call the police just for trying to have a conversation to say that I wasn't the one that was doing it all (she is the person at the front desk).

Yelp
I am quite perplex about this hotel. By one side, it is quite nice : modern, very clean, nice service.... but if we consider this is supposed to be a high end hotel, it is below my expectations : the rooms are quite small, there is not a wide choice for the breakfast, it's not noisy but you hear the noises in the corridors and the closet is extremely small ! this last point , the closet may not look important, but I have to stay 15 days, and I must leave my stuff in my luggage.... deeply annoying !!!! so in conclusion, this is not a bad hotel, but if I compare it to other places within the same price range, I would say it is really below the standards.

Yelp
Summary: It was a very clean place with helpful staff and comfy beds. However, There were many additional charges that didn't make it such a great value and the rooms were extremely smaller than advertised. I would suggest staying here if you do not have a car, aren't staying in the room longer than to sleep, and if you want a hotel that is close to the city. Room Size: The tiny size of our room was astonishing. It was a small freshmen dorm sized room, taken up mostly by the desk and queen sized bed. In fact, there was only 3 feet to the wall on the side of the queen bed and about 4 feet past the foot of the bed until the desk. The pictures of the "guest rooms" on the website are false advertising in my opinion, especially since no piece of furniture could have fit in our room, as they show. I was very disappointed about that. Noise: The doors are not very good at keeping out sound. Luckily, no one was staying in the rooms on either side of ours, but numerous times our guests would walk into or out of their room, and it was as if we were sleeping in the hall it was so loud. We we waken during the night and morning numerous times to guests getting into rooms far away, but it was still very loud. Bed Comfort: The pillows were plush and very comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable and the linens were of very high quality. The comfort of the bed was probably my favorite part of staying at the hotel. Lobby: There is just one computer for use, but it was very open and cozy. The concierge was never standing at the booth, but it seems to be a very odd place for a concierge. Since it was our first time in Ottawa, I was very disappointed to never see the concierge once during the three days we stayed at the hotel. The staff at the welcome desk was very helpful, kind and answered all of our questions. Location: Great location for traveling. We weren't in our rooms very much and walked around the city during most of the trip. If you plan on doing the same, I would recommend to stay here. It is within great walking distance of the main part of the city and isn't in a scary area to walk in. Additional fees: I was very surprised to find out that the valet cost as additional $30 dollars a night (plus a $5 tip each time we dropped off and asked for the car) and that the wi-fi cost an additional $10 a day. Since we drove, we had to use the valet, but we opted out of the wi-fi. Basically, we paid an additional $70 dollars to stay there and could have paid $100, if we opted to get wi-fi.

Yelp
I liked this place. It is a small boutique hotel. Our focus was going out & exploring the city so we were fine with the size of the room. It was weird that there was only free wifi in the lobby but...okay... My only issue was that our room was on the floor above their bar/restaurant area which was rented out for a party. We asked how late it would be & were told there was a curfew for the music at 11. This simply didn't happen & the bass continued to pump through our floor well beyond. Eventually the night representative offered to move us to another room. We appreciated the offer. I wasn't thrilled it was a smoking room but ...what are you going to do? I would consider staying there in the future but would specify not to be on the floor above their entertainment area.
google avatar

Yelp
PROS: The pricing is reasonable for downtown Ottawa. The staff were very friendly. A very nice sit down breakfast was included. Starbucks and second cup are very close. CONS: The room was small and a little dirty / dusty. The bathroom had hair left in several spots. The view out the window was of a brick wall. At 12:30am and 6:30am there was banging / moving off the dumpster outside my window. The fitness area is not as nice as pictures online.

Yelp
O Canada, O No! Wasn't really a fan of this hotel at all. Just was not an enjoyable experience for me and did not meet expectations. The hotel is well maintained and you could tell its relatively new. Its free valet and trust me, you'll valet often unless you're taking taxi's everywhere. Upon check-in they give you free champagne and have free apples in the lobby. Gotta give them credit for making a strong first impression but alas that's pretty much where all the wow-factors stopped. The room I stayed in had 2 double beds. I found the rooms to be super cramped. No joke. It literally felt smaller than my tiny dorm room. There was no space to put any of our luggage in the room, so we had to stuff them in the room. Not really much room to walk either. We always had to walk around each other to get from one end of the room to the other. Location-wise its not the ideal location either but probably one of the closest hotels within reasonable walking distance to Byward Market area. Keep in mind, by walking-distance I mean about 1-2 miles. Overall, a disappointing experience but the aesthetics are nice. Unfortunately, I prefer comfort over aesthetics.

Yelp
We stayed at ARC the Hotel for New Years Eve 2010 and we were very, very pleased. Hoping not only to ring in the new year here we were planning and doing some site seeing. Lucky for us it is just moments away from The Parliament of Canada, War and Civilization Museums and much more. Upon arrival the staff instantly greeted us and took our bags inside. Where we were offered champagne and informed on everything we needed to know about the hotel. We were originally booked for an Intimate Queen room but without and problems they met our needs and gave us a upgrade to the Majestic King. Being the holiday season we didn't expect much but they made it happen. There guests are well taken care of here. The room was a good size for the price we were paying, a king bed with Egyptian cotton (May I add it was very comfy!), a complete bathroom (No soaker tub, higher upgrade.) TV, a complete mini bar, all your toiletries refilled daily. Our second night in there was an accident with the valet just a minor however they did absolutely everything they could do to satisfy us. They took complete responsibility offer you another vehicle if needed and also took off our $75 valet fee and $30/d for the room upgrade. With a bottle of their fine wine! Even though I am 500km away I am pretty sure I will stay there again. It was the best experience I had at any hotel before. Even with a minor accident it really doesn't really matter that's how well we were taken care of this weekend. Last thing, a big complaint is the size of the rooms (Intimate Queen? I assume.) But it really doesn't matter it's Ottawa there's so much to see outside of the hotel. Just enjoy the comfortable sleep.

Yelp
Location: We wanted to be on the other side of the canal closer to Byward Market but since it looked like there was no free street parking we chose the Arc. If you arrive at the Arc at Friday after 7pm there is free street parking which is good until Monday 7am. The hotel is a short walk to the Rideau Canal (great for us, we were there to skate). You do have some options for food; half a block away are Tim Horton's and Starbucks. Within a 3 block radius you have McDonalds, 3 Brewers, Scone Witch, and a few others but I cant recall their names. A taxi from Byward market would cost between $7 and $8. The Rooms: Very comfortable beds. Shower heads with about 5 different options of sprays. Walls seem to be thin. We heard conversations in the hallway, and I believe I heard the guy coughing from the next room. Price; We paid about $100 a night and booked through Booking.com. We would consider this hotel again.

Yelp
Was in Ottawa during a very big conference at UOttawa (9.000 attendees) and the availability of rooms/accommodations was quite tricky, even when booking several months in advance. I was pleased to be able to secure a room that fit my dates at such a nice hotel (even if it cost $209 +++ a night for some of the nights we were there - and this was a 'deal'). The decor is lovely and stylish, and I want to renovate my master bath to mirror the ones in ARC - clean and minimal and lovely. The front desk staff and the valets were all very friendly. That said, parking was a bit of a pain, though... we had to wait for our car to be retrieved each time, and sometimes there was a delay, or the valet wasn't available (and had to be called - adding time to our already semi-obnoxious wait--perhaps this serves me right for overburdening my schedule?). (And it was expensive!) The WiFi could use some updating - it had the habit of fading a bit just when I was trying to send an email. This is a pet peeve of mine, and I take issue with any hotel that proclaims itself 'business-friendly' yet doesn't have really sound, reliable connectivity. That said, the overall experience was positive. The hotel is well-located and, if you like stylish, smallish boutique hotels, this is a great choice. I'd stay here again if I could get the same deal(s) listed by others, but I'll save my $200 + per night budget for cities that merit the expense (I used to live in Ottawa, so this is a fair, if semi-ironic, statement).
google avatar

Sarah E.

Yelp
The overall experience was fine. It is what it is, a bed downtown Ottawa. I was offered sparkling champagne upon check-in which is a great touch - I was also upgraded although I am sure it was due to overbooking. The room was nice and clean. My only few issues with this hotel is the price and the appearance and attentiveness of the staff. It was close to $300 a night for a hotel that is under construction it seems and to me, not really presenting that calibre of price. I was not offered help with my luggage not was I really asked why I was staying there (business or pleasure?) which could have built rapport and allowed them to direct me to some great spots around town. The key cards deactivate if they are anywhere near a cell phone! As for the staff, I felt that most of them did not look or act very professional. I believe there is only one front desk staff on at a time so you do a lot of waiting there. And door men who don't always open the door for you? All in all I would return to this hotel but it would need to be via a deal because I would pay the price that I did again for the same services.
google avatar

Yelp
The Arc will appeal to your ego. When you arrive, your car will be valet parked and staff will rush to carry your bags in. Upon check-in you are promptly handed a glass of sparkling wine and shown to your well equipped room where you will find a comfortable bed wrapped in egyptian cotton, a desk with internet access, and a lavish bathrobe to relax in. The Arc is walking distance to Parliament, the National Art Centre, and the Market. Also, if you are an addict like most Canadians, it is directly next to a Tim Hortons.

Yelp
A nice hotel in downtown Ottawa. Parking is hit or miss, it's $30 for valet or if you're lucky you can park on the street outside for free on the weekends. Room is nice and clean, bed is comfortable, staff is friendly and helpful. An overall good experience!

Yelp
Very nice hotel! It was very clean and newly renovated not to mention the staff was very nice and always greeted us with a smile. We had a problem checking in and finding our reservation but they upgraded us to a king room with no hesitation which was very nice of them. If I had to mention some negatives about it they would be that the walls are somewhat thin but nothing that disturbing and lastly the valet parking is 32 per night but finding plating around is not hard so if you feel comfortable take that option because it is free on weekends

Yelp
Rooms have nice modern decor, no overpowering room air freshener, clean new hotel...inexpensive compared to neighboring Marriott. Free valet parking with AAA card. Only disappointment is no free wifi except in lobby. I would stay here again.

Yelp
Loved the overall experience. Free valet parking, complimentary bubbly upon arrival. Great room decor. Yes the jr suit was a little small but very comfortable. Bed had a pillow top. Hate the pillow top personally but I'm sure many think its luxury. Pillows were too large for my comfort. Would have liked a variety. But that's fairly minor to a great nights sleep. The room service breakfast was pretty bland. But the food in the restaurant is great. Overall I'm looking forward to staying there again. It's one of the better hotel experiences I've had in Ottawa.

Yelp
Great great hotel in Ottawa, you will not find better value, service or location... If you have any questions or concern, ask to speak to the manager Frank - so helpful and professional, overall great experience!

Yelp
This boutique hotel is in the midst of being just a so-so experience. I traveled from Kingston yesterday to meet my Dad who is on Ottawa on business for the week. I'll start with the redeeming qualities: 1. Location. Can hardly be beat if you have business in the financial district. Also about 3 blocks to parliament, war memorial and only about a 10 minute walk to the Byward market. 2. Cleanliness. Tres bon 3. Power wash level of water pressure in the shower. Seriously, I've never been cleaner. 4. Apple and little chocolates placed by the bed side tables, nightly. Noted and appreciated. Areas requiring improvement: 1. My Pops had to cajole internet out of hotel staff who are meant to charge $10/day for the privilege of dial up level of speed-internet. When my Dad complained, there was no charge to provide him with internet so why not just make it part of the service? 2. Air flow. The AC in our room clicks on and off through the night with the subtlety of a lawn mower powering up. Turn it off you say? This over heated the room and left zero air flow. This was almost laughable to me yesterday when I arrived and my Pop explained that he was in the habit of building a little pillow fort-wall with the three excess pillows on his double bed to shield him from the arctic air blasting on and off through the night. 3. Half ply toilet paper. Worth taking some if you're stingy and in need of tissue paper (the wrapping kind). 4. Breakfast: averaged $20 and there was no gluten-free option. Ie: Most options had a heavy bread/pastry component. I'm happy to pay $20 for breakfast if I'm getting ingredients that cost more than 50 cents to procure but a croissant based meal should not cost in the arena of twenty big ones. Like I said, just so-so.

Yelp
Lovely hotel smack dab in downtown Ottawa. Within walking distance to Parliament Hill and a lot of other attractions. The hotel staff was very friendly and attentive to your needs. The valet staff is always friendly and eager to help, opening doors for you, getting your luggage, ect. Parking is $35 a night. They have a restaurant which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and there are other restaurants in the area. We really enjoyed our stay here and we definitely will come again.

Yelp
Stayed here many times over the years. Located right in the heart of downtown Ottawa. Friendly service and clean rooms and comfortable beds, make this a place to return to.

Yelp
Quiet, comfortable. Small rooms. If I was staying one night it would be OK, but drawer space is very limited, so the two of us were challenged to get everything out of our suitcase and into drawers, shelves, etc. For downtown location, excellent. However, valet parking is $25.90/day, and allow about 10 minutes to get your car, particularly if you're trying to get it during heavy check-in/check-out times. Little details were sloppy. One of the cups for coffee had been used (!) and put back. And no "creamer". Next day, only one washcloth. For the two of us. One bulb was burned out (but fixed right away). When we checked in, there was supposed to have been sparkling wine when you check in, but somehow we never got ours. And the hosts for our wedding had gift bags for us, that we weren't given. And, the internet isn't free, it's $9.99 (although, apparently, you can go to the desk and argue it off the bill, but again, one more hassle). Not that I will be in downtown Ottawa again, but I would not stay here again.

Yelp
Be aware that... The hotel is well located and the rooms are comfortable. Staff is very nice but not helpful. Be aware that the area is under construction, which make it very difficult for car access. And noisy. The hotel offers only a valet parking service, price not included and sums up to just under 40$ per night!!! Only basics are included, and the hotel charges for everything else. Internet for example is 7$ per night. Our room was with a view to a brick wall, so close that we could almost touch it, and some of the rooms have acoustics problems, we could hear everything that was going on in corridor. Overall, we felt that for half the prize we could find a B&B, Airbnb or hostel which will offer the same value.

Yelp
Don't let the hip beats and recently reno'd lobby fool you. This is an old tired hotel with the smokiest rooms and terrifying elevators...

Yelp
Great hotel. This was my first trip to Ottawa and I'm so glad I stayed at Arc. Pleasant staff. Clean, modern rooms. Would definitely stay again and recommend to friends. Only downside is the pricey parking, but that's to be expected at a downtown hotel.

Yelp
I am staying 3 nights here. My first day, the room key was deactivated twice. Seems that every time I leave the room, the keycard is deactivated. The elevators are slow and the check in area smells like cheap cologne.

Yelp
I stayed at the Arc last weekend. We were thrilled -- got a great deal booking on their website. For $144/night, we had an Intimate Queen room, plus free valet parking, and $40/per person/per night worth of free cocktails at the hotel bar. Also had a delish glass of sparkling wine at check-in. The room was cozy and all the room we needed, excellent modern bathroom with a great shower. Everything seemed up to date and recent. The bed was SO comfy. We were able to roll all of our cocktail vouchers into one night, and had a lot of fun sampling from the eclectic menu of cocktails. Bartender was attentive, good at making the drinks, and said he had created most of the menu. We were the only people in the bar - if you're looking to socialize FYI. For us it was just fine. It is a convenient walk to most of the attractions you'd want to see while in town. We valet parked on Friday, and did not retrieve the car again until we checked out. Nice late check-out at noon, and we could have stayed later if we had wanted. Front desk staff were incredibly friendly All in all, for the price, we were totally satisfied. Use their website to find the best deal. I would definitely stay there again!

Yelp
You cannot beat the location or price, but you don't get anything more from the hotel. We spent the last three nights here on the 8th floor. The walls are very thin we heard the ice machine, the people in the halls and the people next door. The water flow was very light. The toiletries were slim and we ran out of tissue and never got more [hard to handle in the middle of winter] and the toilet paper was 1 ply. No bathmat in the room. Only got turn down one night. Was told there was no internet at check in and then was charged $10 at checkout for internet!?! Parking was another $50. At the end of the day the bed was not comfortable but after hours of skating and walking awesome Ottawa we slept and left. Wont stay here again, but for the location we were happy we were at least close to everything. Will pay a little more and stay somewhere else for the Tulip festival. I am surprised they are in the same company as the Trump as I was expecting so much more. Even our small NYC hotel room in the summer was better.

Yelp
Ok, let me start by saying, I really liked the hotel. I would give it a 5 star review, except for the fact that when you get there, you have to carry your suitcase up a flight of stairs. My suitcase was not heavy, but if it would've been, I wouldn't have been happy. Other than the stairs, we loved our stay here. By we, I mean my husband and I. We decided to stay here on a Saturday after getting married on a Friday. We needed a break from all the stress, and let me tell you... THIS HOTEL WAS IT. The bed we had was AMAZING. Best bed we ever spent on. I'm not sure what made it so amazing, but we laid down in it... and didn't want to leave. We were also greeted with sparkling wine when we checked in, which was lovely. I also loved the chocolates on our pillow. I ate them right away... and when we left the room soon after to go out for dinner, we returned to our bed being remade.. AND MORE CHOCOLATE!!!! Now that's service!!! The next day we went down for breakfast, which ran around $50.. and we weren't sure 100% sure if the hotel covered it. Luckily it did, otherwise the breakfast for 2 would've been a bit pricey. All in all, I will recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxury stay in Ottawa. Oh, and also, we had a king size bed, so the room itself was't tiny like a lot of people are saying it to be. Maybe that's because of the size of the bed? Not sure. This is my first yelp review.. and I'm happy to review this hotel with a 4 star rating. I miss that comfy bed!!!!

Yelp
Stayed at this hotel for a friends wedding.. they had a wedding discount. I called start of september to book for Oct 12 - 13. A week before the my stay I called to make everything was OK. It was not.. they booked me Sept 12 - 13 instead of Oct. When I ask to change.. lady said no problems and when I asked if they charged my Credit Card the lady said No. I thought nothing of it... easy mistake. When i showed up at the hotel my reservation was no were to be found. Front desk said that all they see is I had a reservation Sept 12- 13... when i asked again if my card was charged they said YES. Still have not been refunded. Awful service at the hotel but It does look nice. Beds are super comfortable. Another note... My room was Super dusty in some areas like around the TV and Night Stands. If these guys could get there service under control they would have a nice hotel... better off going to Marriott down the street.
