NYC New Restaurant Openings: May 2025 | Eater NY

"A coffee shop founded by Edgar Acosta-Masferrer and joined by Ian Walla (an alum of La Cabra); Acosta-Masferrer is a coffee producer from Panama’s Chiriqui region and the shop sources beans from their own Panamanian farm." - Emma Orlow

Google
Exceptional coffee! They source their own coffee from Panama. Edgar, Devon and Mika are great vibes. Serious Panamanian coffees. Got to try their Janson Estate washed and got a taste of their Pacamara and batch. Service is slow bar 3rd wave for sure. Crazy different aesthetic. Highly highly recommend

Google
Lovely little shop that's mainly for half hour coffee time but can stretch longer with good company. Highly recommend asking for help when picking a pourover so it's tastes that you like. They use a hotter water and lighter roast. Croissants are decent, this is really a vibey coffee-focused shop. Will visit again.

Google
Amazing coffee and incredible vibes! On top of having incredible espresso, I would say that the house rules give a unique touch to Arcane, such as you are not allowed to drink take away cup inside, no laptop, and take your time to enjoy. Everyone is very friendly

Google
Exceptional latte and single origin pour over coffee, plus the best iced coffee in NYC. The team is deeply knowledgeable and passionate about coffee and you won’t find a better place for true coffee aficionados.

Google
Friendly vibes in a coffee-serious environment, great if you really love your coffee. Limited seating indoors and those are reserved for dine in customers. Hand drawn coffees are in the $13+ range.

Tucked away off Bleecker Street, Arcane is a beautifully designed, intimate café that serves rare estate coffee with care. The space is elegant and serene—no laptops allowed, just you and your cup. Their pour-over is smooth, floral, and balanced, though at a premium price. Not mind-blowing, but still a lovely spot for a quiet, quality brew. Croissants from La Cabra are a nice touch.

Google
Pourover coffee I had (bambito estate natural red bourbon) was great. I thought it wasn't too earthy or too citrusy. Space is limited inside, and I think they have outdoor seating.

Yelp
We found this place by browsing google maps and I immediately fell in love with the vibes as soon as I walked in. The coffee was really good (it's surprisingly not easy to find good ones in NYC) and the barista was friendly too! Can't wait to go back

Yelp
I past by this place before it opened and was curious because I hadn't seen a place focused on Panamanian coffee before in New York City and a friend of mine made me curious about it. When I had a break, I finally came through. The cafe is relatively small. Maybe 10 people at most can be there comfortably between sitting and standing. That is why they have a no laptop rule on their tables and on the register. They sold only one type of coffee in bags but you can taste different varieties through tasting. Other than that they serve options like espresso and espresso with milk (no lattes or mochas). They also have iced coffee, matcha and teas available. Because I already had matcha that day, I tried their cold fresas con crema which was a strawberry soda. It was quite refreshing. I would come back with friends who are more serious about coffee as opposed to a chill hang. The people there were nice and it was quiet around 2 pm.

Yelp
Beautiful little space. Probably 15 people can sit inside. The coffee is 10 out of 10. Which is good because you are paying for it. As a drip coffee-head, I don't pay $7 for coffee often (this is the cheap one btw). But it was excellent. I'll be back for the elevated experience as a treat.

Yelp
Great little shop - wonderful aesthetic and delicious cappuccino. Will absolutely return. Baristas were on point with service and knowledge.

Yelp
Small but quaint coffee shop. The chatter is a bit too loud for my liking so I had to put in my headphones and put them on noise cancellation just to read my book. I was wasting some time before my appointment so I probably would just get coffee to go from here instead of lounging around.

Yelp
Latte was good, but the customer service was disappointing. My husband ordered a latte to go because there were no tables available. When a table opened up, we sat for just a couple of minutes so I could rest (I'm currently pregnant), but a staff member approached us almost immediately. He asked if we planned to stay longer and explained that their policy requires anyone sitting at a table to have their drink in a glass cup instead of a to-go cup. It felt like a very odd rule, not something I've ever seen at any other coffee shop. We told him we were leaving shortly and were just taking a quick break, but he continued to explain the policy and said he would need to swap the cup if we stayed. The interaction left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.

Yelp
Arcane Estate Coffee in the West Village is a hidden gem for coffee lovers. The space has a cozy, stylish vibe with just the right mix of modern and rustic. The coffee is exceptional; smooth, rich, and clearly crafted with care. I tried their Iced matcha which was from Kettl tea, and it was one of the best I've had in the city. The barista was kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The staff overall seem genuinely passionate about what they do. It's a great spot to relax, catch up with a friend, or get a little work done. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. By the way, they have croissants and other pastries from La Cabra. Now I don't have to go all the way to SoHo or the East Village.

Yelp
This is coffee as art. I feel like only real coffee drinkers come here. While the lattes and milk drinks are good you should really try to get espresso or drink the coffee black. It's a small place so not great for groups but the ambiance is so cool.

Yelp
This is a gem of a place tucked away on a side street in lower Manhattan. The barristas are so friendly and knowledgeable, the vibe of the place is curated and calm. We love the story of this place, the coffee beans coming from the creator (Edgar's) coffee farm in Panama, bringing Panamanian coffee to the NY scene. As a non-coffee drinker, I had delicious options of black tea, matcha, and strawberry soda, all of which I enjoyed. The cookies and croissants were also delicious, which the shop brings in from Cabra Bakery. Definitely check this place out! Farm to Cafe, the way it should be.

Yelp
Love a new coffee shop in WV. It's the cutest little shop with limited seating and friendly staff. Just got an iced coffee! It was great. Another pit stop added to the list.

Yelp
Excellent coffee. Yes, it's pricey, but worth the cost fort the quality. The experience and shop are also well designed so I know what I'm getting as soon as I come into door.

Yelp
Edgar and Ian are amazing , highly recommend Arcane Estate Coffee. Brewing on point, service on point and the attention to detail on everything is worth the trip!
