Was only in D.C. for the weekend but had to do a quick stop at Arcay’s location in La Cosecha. These are the best chocolates I’ve tried, especially the Dubai Chocolate bars. Service was incredible! They answered all my questions and were super patient wrapping up my order for travel. I definitely recommend you stop by and give it a try! It’s the best pit stop for all things gifts and treats. Please don’t miss this place the family running the shop is the sweetest people ever!!

Google
I never write reviews but I have to say I LOVE these chocolates!! The staff was so so friendly and the chocolate was amazing. I got a box and I loved every single one of them. This has become my new favorite spot for gifts too! Such a cute and delicious gift 🎁 100% recommend

Google
Lovely chocolate shop nestled in a beautiful street in Georgetown. The hot chocolate is delicious and a must try for any chocolate lover. If you’re in the area, you should visit this place. The dark chocolate bon bons are delicious- great flavor without being too sweet. Valentina was pleasant, kind, and knowledgeable, which elevated the whole experience of visiting Arcay Chocolates!

I visit this shop all the time. They make wonderful truffles and special gifts. Owners are always warm and welcoming. Cozy atmosphere.

Google
Joined a recent compass and Arcay co-organized zoom chocolate tasting event w/ a nice selection of black gold drops 💧. I love Basil, passion fruit and other fruity flavors… I am also amazed by the self- educated chocolatier’s knowledge on her productions… what a memorable experience. I would love to join one of their classes. :D so fun. Would love to visit Annabella in person soon.

I decided on getting a 6 piece box of truffles and I was really impressed by the beautiful glossy appearance of each and the flavors were incredibly rich and creamy. I did find the price point a little high, the total was $17.75 for 6 so just shy of $3 each. It was definitely worth trying once!

Google
It is in a really nice market with lots of food and shopping options. Absolutely delicious chocolate!! Came here for my birthday, and I got 9 bonbons and a 70% bar. The lime basil is so good, the basil is actually the star in it! Can’t wait to try the rest!!!

Yelp
You wanna impress someone with a beautiful hostess gift? You wanna say thank you to a special loved one? Go to Arcay and get some super delicious chocolates! They will make the recipient feel like they are king (or queen) of the castle! The chocolates are so beautiful, colorful and inventive! The boxes and bags and accoutrements are high class. And the people who work there (the owners) are friendly and knowledgeable about their goods. Almost any chocolate is good. But this chocolate is a different level. Make sure to get a little for yourself too because it is too good to miss! I highly recommend this little store in Georgetown for a tasty little gift for someone!

Yelp
It's a cute spot within La Cosecha marketplace. The chocolates are so pretty! I decided to buy a few...sad to say they were just ok :-( Maybe my pallet was off that day.

Yelp
Purchased the bonbon box of 9 and picked up at their retail location. Great chocolates but are pricy. At the time of ordering there were quite a few of our stock, so hoping next time I can try a few more flavors! Customer service was prompt and very helpful when I made a mistake on the pickup location - there's two now - one in Union market and one in Georgetown! Only the Union market location is listed on the website.

Yelp
This little chocolate shop is located at La Cosecha at Union Market District (cute little area with some food and shopping options). Excellent chocolate bon bon with unique flavors but on the pricer side. I sample a few of their flavors: the pina colada, coquito, sarrapia, coffee and rum, and rosemary salt. Biting into each chocolate felt very satisfying. There was a hard chocolate outside with soft inside that melts in your mouth. They have a wide range of unique flavors and pretty packaging. Service was quick. They were fun to try and definitely an indulgence (it would make a nice gift for people, but I wouldn't buy it again for myself due to the price).

Yelp
I decided to try the bon bon chocolates based on word of mouth. The flavors were unique, and the chocolates were beautiful, but they did not taste rich enough. They tasted great but were, sadly, less delicious than they looked. However, I still enjoyed them. There were also chocolate bars for sale. Next time, I will try those instead.

Yelp
These chocolates were truly gorgeous to look at and delicious to eat. Flavors aside the chocolate itself was phenomenal. They really know their stuff :) I wouldn't call myself a chocolate expert by any means - I don't know the science behind tempering or cacao butter ratios or anything like that or even where the best cacao bean comes from... But, I prefer a bon-bon, truffle, whatever you call these things... that has some crunch to the chocolate, that little bit of snap when biting in and getting to the delicious center as well as a chocolate flavor that is well-balanced in terms of sweetness. These beautiful creations delivered on all fronts! Out of the assortment I selected to try, I'd say that the churro and salted caramel were my two favorites. I honestly never had a chocolate like the churro so I 100% recommend trying that one. My husband really enjoyed the Aji spicy and the matcha, but he did say that the matcha flavor was a little weak for him (though he is a matcha monster who wants that fresh mowed lawn flavor so take from that feedback what you will). My least favorite was the orange praline which was a tad too bitter for me, almost like there was some orange rind instead of just zest or something... so I would say 11 out of 12 ain't bad and would definitely order from here again when I am fiending for some excellent chocolates! For those not in DC: I had them shipped and they were hand delivered the following day which was impressive since I wasn't expecting them for about a week. I am in the Reston/Herndon area so I am not sure how far their personal delivery service extends, but it ensured that they didn't sit out in the sun and melt on me!

Yelp
Wow! Amazing chocolates! Never tried truffles like these before. The store is beautiful and the chocolates are very colorful. I definitely recommend them and I will come back for sure

Yelp
I was searching for a gift for my mentees to get their mother for Mother's Day. I was happy to come across this little gem. It was a little challenging to find because it's located inside Union Market (I was circling the joint looking for a standalone storefront). But, once I realized where it was, the process for fairly smooth sailing. The variety of chocolate allowed for a wide enough selection without knowing much about the gift recipient. I didn't personally taste the chocolate, but their mother liked them and the chocolatiers were helpful in the selection process. I took my mentees in with me to make the purchase, which was a blessing and a curse. The owner was clearly not amused by their 10/11-year-old shenanigans, but she was patient enough with their inquisitiveness and attention deficit to make things run smoothly. I'll definitely be going back for a visit soon.

Yelp
Arcay Chocolates are the product of Anabella Arcay, a Venezuelan Master Chocolatier. I've been walking past this very tempting "chocolate business" for lack of a better word and never tried anything. I finally decided to give it a try. I spoke to the husband of this family operation, Dario Berti, and asked him way too many questions about his business and most importantly - THE CHOCOLATES. He was very friendly and gave me specific details about sourcing, flavors, etc. I bought an assortment of chocolates and absolutely loved it. The Cherry Blossom one was my favorite. The outer layer was thin and crunchy. The inside was very silky smooth and melts in your mouth, all flavors blending together and hitting the palate at different moments. It's really a rollercoaster ride of flavors. The only thing I wasn't fond of was the price! Six small pieces of chocolate for nearly $20 is more than I'd like to spend, but you are paying for premier quality. I'd recommend this spot for all, even if you stop by for one piece of chocolate...you won't be disappointed!! -ODL Follow my IG: @AOEAT Follow my YouTube: @AOEAT

Yelp
Delicious chocolates! Beautifully crafted! The lady behind the counter was so sweet! Will definitely revisit this little gem at La Cosecha DC. Amazing vibe!

Yelp
Inside La Cosecha, a Latin American food hall and market near Union Market, is a small stand where you'll meet Anabella, a master chocolatier from Venezuelan. With a warm smile on her face, she'll gently walk you through her well-designed artisan chocolates and bars. Her products include chocolate pieces, chocolate-covered almonds and a variety of bars both milk and dark chocolate. The milk chocolate rice bar was delicious. People may not love the price- over $7 for a small bar- but keep in mind it's a small business and the product is quality!

Yelp
Chocolate connoisseurs know that Venezuela contains some of the best cacao beans for chocolates in the world, especially from in and near Chuao region (considering the best chocolate bar in the world is the Italian brand Amadei, which sources their chocolate from this region of Venezuela). It's popularity has instilled within Venezuelans throughout their country an impressive dedication and pride for their chocolates, and the owner of this place, Anabelle Arcay, does it no differently and it shows - with 42 international awards and creative flavors, who is to question her? I immediately went for the bon bon with the passion fruit filling and she suggested the lemon basil, blackberry cardamon, and tamarind. I took a gamble with the lemon basil, and it was a worthwhile gamble. I have a feeling that this place is where any gamble is hard to lose. She also sells paletas (popsicles) here with similar fillings.

Yelp
My #1 pregnancy craving at the moment is hot cocoa and boy did Arcay Chocolate deliver! This is the real deal, hot chocolate, made with real dairy and constantly whirred in a little machine to the perfect temperature and frothy consistency! I'm a bit lactose-intolerant but this was worth the indulgence...it tasted like a liquid chocolate bar! I was in heaven. I didn't get a chance to any try any of the bon bons of truffles but with flavors like passion fruit, tamarind, matcha, and blackberry cardamon I know that I'll be back soon! The owner (a master chocolatier from Venezuela) was as sweet as can be and I loved how they matched their masks and headbands to the tropical mural they had in the back. It's all in the details :)

Yelp
Incredible chocolates! It's a must try when in DC I bet you haven't tasted a chocolate like this before. Owner attended and excellent place to have lunch at La Cosecha and then some chocolates for dessert . Go for it you won't regret it

Yelp
The chocolates were delicious and I loved the texture. I had a few different ones and my favorite was surprisingly a cherry blossom one. Didn't even know what it was but the flavor was great. I didn't give them 4 stars because it's a bit on the pricy side. But the staff are super nice and they do make their own chocolates in-house which looks like a lot of work! Worth a try tho!

Yelp
Amazing specialty chocolates. Location is also cool. A destination with multiple restaurants and stores, many by locals. Plus the place has free parking for 3 hours.

Jason C.

Yelp
Excellent chocolate and excellent service. A family-owned business, this is my go to chocolate and gelato shop in Georgetown. I always end up walking out with both! I highly recommend the pistachio chocolate bars. If that is not your thing, the chocolatier is frequently in the shop and can recommend something else.

Yelp
It took a lot of Will power to not scarf these down. Flavor explosion and just an experience in every bite ! True artisanal flavors that have won awards and rightfully so! Beautiful packaging ... what a lovely business and fun additional to la cosecha!

Yelp
I am totally totally in love with this chocolate place!! It was so hard to pick and, if I knew how good they were when I picked out a six piece box then I would've gotten a 12 piece box. Each and every chocolate was so decadent. I loved all of them! The caramel one was probably my favorite and that was a hard choice because the other ones I got or so so good. The woman who is the owner and make her of the chocolate is also lovely. She was able to answer all of my questions and also make some recommendations when I was having a hard time deciding which ones I should get. I don't think she could've recommended one that was bad because they were all so so so good. Every time I come to DC I am coming here and getting chocolate and we will see if I can make it home with any of them to share. Probably not, although maybe they'll have a 24 piece box by that time. :-)

Yelp
Beautiful and rich tasty chocolate! They get the consistency just right. Makes perfect gifts as they are aesthetic chocolate. I highly recommend the dark chocolate and cardamon one. I would stay away from the passion fruit unless you have a real love for the fruit.

Yelp
The two chocolates I tried were absolutely delicious: Irish cream and Blackberry cardamom. I'll get a box next time. So creamy and very flavorful.

Yelp
Award-winning chocolate shop in a perfect location. A great way to complement the incredible food and drinks you can get at La Cosecha. Each chocolate has a distinct, unique flavor that tastes real, not artificial like most chocolates you get off the shelf. Beautifully designed. Well worth the cost.

Yelp
So so so good. The chocolate literally melts in your mouth. The head chocolatier is LEGIT - she moved here 3 years ago with her family (who helps run the shop) from Venezuela where she's spent years running the same operation. I've never had better chocolate in the city, couldn't recommend Arcay Chocolates more and La Cosecha as a whole - A MUST visit if you're living in the DMV!

Lindsay G.

Yelp
Delicious chocolates with wonderful variety and flavors. Shipping was also very prompt and packaging is attractive. Makes a lovely gift - worth the price for a special occasion.

Yelp
I want to begin by saying that I'm not even that crazy about chocolates. My friends and husband have been giving me chocolates as gifts from all over the world for years and they're ok. But... I tried Arcay Chocolates about 2 years ago when my mission was to buy empanadas from their neighbor, and I fell in love with their chocolates and hot chocolate! I've been buying from them ever since they opened in DC and cannot stop singing their praises. These are high-quality and handmade from the finest ingredients. Enjoy!

Yelp
We LOVE Arcay Chocolates! These chocolates are legitimately some of the best chocolates one could have-- not just in the DC area, but nationwide. The chocolates are crafted by a master chocolatier and they're smooth, flavorful, and delightful. Try their rosemary, coco noir, and sea salt bonbons! Also try their hot chocolate when it's in season!

Natalie Y.

Yelp
I received a set of chocolates from Arcay as a gift, and they were delicious! They make flavor combinations I haven't seen elsewhere - think blackberry cardamom (my favorite), rosemary and sea salt, lemon basil, passionfruit. While receiving them was "sweet," I would totally give these as a gift - the packaging is beautiful! Since they opened, I've stopped by after shopping in Union Market/La Cosecha and grabbed two or three chocolates to eat on my way home. I need to try their hot cocoa next!

Natasha I.

Yelp
Excellent chocolates. I purchased a box of 12 and they were all delicious. The quality of the chocolate itself is excellent; I believe it is Venezuelan. The flares were also outstanding. My favorites were the blackberry/cardamom and lemon/basil. Perfectly balanced flavors- sweet, tart, bitter. Cannot overstate how good these were. Looking forward to buying more. They're also beautifully decorated but I ate them without taking a pic.

Caroline M.

Yelp
I worked with Arcay on a large order for a corporate gift and had an absolutely fantastic experience. We had almost 50 orders, two different delivery dates, two different personalized notes, and a combination of local DC delivery and national shipping. Arcay handled everything with enthusiasm and always replied right away when I contacted them. They even adapted one of the orders for a food allergy. My recipients have been sending me rave reviews, not only because the chocolate itself is delicious, but also because it came so beautifully packaged and the truffles are almost too beautiful to eat! I also ordered from Arcay for some family gifts, which were shipped to Texas and arrived in perfect condition. So far I've heard the most about the tamarind flavor, so that may be the most popular one. I can't recommend Arcay highly enough, especially for gifting, your recipients will be absolutely thrilled with their treats!

Claudia N.

Yelp
These chocolates are amazing!! I recently gifted a box to my boyfriend's stepmom for her birthday and she loved them. She's hard to shop for and it made me really happy to see her eat them all in one sitting. She was super impressed by their unique flavors. Make sure you try their passionfruit and caramel truffles!

Barbara R.

Yelp
These chocolates are amazing. I am so happy the Arcay family is opening a store here! I grew up eating these chocolates and they're still one of my favorites. Definitely worth a try!

Denise R.

Yelp
Arcay Chocolates are the most delicate, delicious and unique chocolates you'll ever try. They're always the right choice! Simply THE BEST!
