"The huge resort is hosting a two-day concert event for the eclipse with headliners the Goo Goo Dolls, along with Fastball and Switchfoot. There’s access to Paul Bee Distillery, Ogle Brewery, Arch Ray Winery, and the 1894 restaurant, as well as space for RV camping." - Nadia Chaudhury

"Out in Fredericksburg, a new resort opened with a restaurant, distillery, brewery, and winery. The Arch Ray Resort is found at 4160 East Highway 290. There’s the fine-dining restaurant 1894 Ranch To Table with meats from the family ranch such as Angus wagyu steaks, as well as beers, wines, and cocktails. Then there’s the Arch Ray Winery headed by winemaker Weston McCoury, which focuses on Texas wines in white, rosé, red, and dessert variations. The Ogle Brewery serves up a wide variety of beer styles from ales, lagers, IPAs, to stouts. And then finally, the Paul Bee Distillery distills many spirits like bourbon, vodka, gin, and rum. Then there’s an amphitheater, RV park, and conference center. Co-owners Sally Baxter and Stephen Baxter." - Nadia Chaudhury

The food was really awesome, and the wine and cocktails were just as good. The burgers totally stole the show—they were super tasty and cooked just right. But honestly, our server Shane made it all even better. He was on top of everything and made the whole meal way more fun and enjoyable.

A True Hill Country Gem Arch Ray Resort is the perfect blend of charm, relaxation, and incredible wine. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff go above and beyond. Randy and Michael were there to give us the story behind the resort and a tour. There is something for everyone! It’s a winery, brewery and distillery and restaurant ! The Arch Ray Resort is such a beautiful place! Fiesta Wines has now become a favorite of ours! Whether you’re there for a quick tasting or a weekend getaway, it’s an experience you won’t forget. We plan on trying the restaurant 1894 out for lunch tomorrow! Highly recommend! We will definitely be back!!

My husband and I came to eat here for our wedding anniversary and we were super excited to try it out. The resort was beautiful! Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the food and the lack of customer service from the wait staff. My husband ordered the 1894 Ribeye steak, medium rare, but it was cooked to medium well. We never send food back! There was nothing spectacular about that or the Shrimp pasta. For the price, the food was mediocre. Although, the house salad with Jalapeño ranch was amazing!!! We both really loved that! Another couple that had just eaten there said they weren't impressed either with the wait staff and the green beans were cold and still had ice on them. Hoping it was just an off day for the staff and hopefully it gets better!

We had dinner at the restraunt one night. I got the wagu steak with herb butter on top. This was probably the best tasting steak I've had at any restraunt, was cooked perfectly, and so tender. Service was good, and the beer was tasty. The only disappointment was the dessert, for the price I expected more then just a boring brownie, it was kinda bland.

We had lunch here at their restaurant and we loved it! My burger and their 1894 beef was very tasty and even my bun was branded with 1894! The restaurant has very nice ambiance and has a very large indoor fireplace with leather couches seating area in front of it. Our waiter Malakai was very gracious and polite!

Everything was fantastic! My wife and I are visiting for our honeymoon and we had a wonderful dinner. The wait staff (Michael and Brock) were amazing and so kind. The wagyu cheese burger was delicious and I’d go for the pretzel bites again. The funnel cake bread pudding was so delicious too. Great place for a meal and would go back again in a heart beat. 🤩

This is a great place to wind down, relax and have some great food and wine and beer. The store had a nice selection to choose from and the workers are very helpful. The manager and servers cared for the customers and were very helpful. I wish the hotel was opened when we were there but we will be back. Give this gem a try on your next trip to Fredericksburg Texas.

We stayed at the RV Resort and it was clean and super friendly. Took the golf cart to the Arch Ray Winery. Red and white flight was wonderful. But let's talk about the bar. Freddy is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to do anything you ask. His Mexican Martini is perfect. The atmosphere is welcoming, comfortable and beautiful.

Yelp
Rebecca is amazing so sweet and knowledge. The chicken salad is to die for Loaded with chicken we have come back twice in two weeks for Rebecca and the salad

Yelp
Another lovely experience in the Fredericksburg area. After driving through both the Arch Ray RV Park and the Cabin based development, we stopped for lunch at the 1894 restaurant in the Arch Ray Resort. There were 6 of is on a chilly Tuesday in February. The restaurant / bar area had very few people in it, so we were seated right away. We learned that a server had called-off, so our server Brock handled the entire restaurant. He did a great job and is a hard working young man. We all ordered some draft beers made in their own on-site brewery. When the beers came, we ordered appetizers and lunch. Everything was quite tasty. I have to add that the Brussels Sprouts are among the best I've ever had. Our Wagyu - Angus burger was very good as well. So the atmosphere, service and food were all very good and I also feel the pricing was great too. We'd come back to 1894 at Arch Ray Resort.

Yelp
UPDATE: I've improved my rating from 1 star to 2 because one of the owners reached out privately about my experience; I do appreciate that. If we go back to give them another chance, I'll update again. I hate to give bad reviews but this experience was so horrible that I'm hoping they learn from the feedback. This was our first stop on an organized wine tour. It included a tasting and lunch. I picked this place because I was told we could choose between a wine tasting or beer flight, but when we sat down, a waitress immediately poured us a wine sample, said nothing, and left. She was gone for quite a while so we drank the wine. She finally returned and started pouring another sample without a word. I had to stop her to ask what it was and what the first one was, and I was surprised and disappointed they never offered the beer tasting option. We had no menu to tell us anything about the drinks and she only told us the name of it after I asked the first time. No description or anything. When they brought out the food that we had pre-ordered, the dishes all came out separately so half the group sat waiting for about 15 minutes before the rest of us got our food. Also, they got one order wrong and told my colleague they hadn't started his chicken sandwich so he basically had to choose between tacos and a burger instead. The burgers looked good, but the tacos were NOT tacos like you see in the pics, they were basically two tiny (smallest tortilla you can find) quesadillas cut in quarters with a lot of tortilla chips to hide the measly lunch portion of food. What's worse is I ordered fish tacos and told them several times I had fish tacos. After eating 2-3 of the small bites, I realized my fish tacos were actually shrimp. Damn good thing I am not allergic to shellfish. I've been on many wine tours and know what to expect. This was not what I'd consider a tasting and the service was horrible. Our wine tour company made good by buying us a beer flight since that's what some of our team originally wanted, and the bartender who did that was good, but overall, I can not recommend this place and have no plans of being back.

Yelp
Came with my husband, daughter and friend. Great service, delicious food, wine and bourbon! My husband and friend had the pastrami sandwich. I got to sample. Delicious and not greasy! The shoestring fries were perfect. My daughter had the burger. Also delicious! I had the salad with grilled tuna. Gosh, great selections! Will definitely come back!

Yelp
As always, this is a nice and classy experience. The food is good even if you're only snacking. While I'm not a super fan of the home brewed spirits; they're good but not jaw dropping. Still, as a mixer they make a sublime old fashioned that I cannot recommend strongly enough. Tonight they had live music and we were pleased to relax with our 13 year old (who really enjoys the menu) to such a soulful guitarist. Bon Appetit!

Yelp
It is a very nice new RV resort. Nice winery, good food, and good wine. It's a first-class place.

Yelp
Love to visit Arch Ray for great food and wine, spirits and beer! They have it all. Riley is our favorite waitress. She is always cheerful and excellent at her job!

Yelp
We came here with a group of 11 for dinner. To start our server was unknowledgeable about the menu. When our food came to us it was auctioned off as if we were at a diner. Our food was mediocre, I had the meatballs and a side of fries, the meatballs were extremely bland and were not hot. Someone also had the steak sandwich, which I tried and it was way to spicy and over seasoned she didn't even finish it. We asked for ranch for our fries and it tasted like sour cream which is odd so that was disappointing as well. While eating our food we never saw our server again and were not asked if we needed anything else through our entire stay. For someone who works in the industry, I am very patient and understanding of situation but this was an extreme disappointment for the amount we paid for our food.

Yelp
Creating this yelp account just to warn everyone about this god awful place and my experience from yesterday. This restaurant is an absolute disaster. The management is completely clueless - they have no idea what they're doing and it shows in every aspect of the establishment. The food? The food was beyond abysmal - it was like someone had slapped together some random ingredients and called it a day, the taste was awfully bland. And don't even get me started on the wine! I've had better drinks from a gas station. Overall, 1/5 stars, and that's being generous.

Yelp
My husband and I have been here twice now for brunch. The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is fantastic. I look forward to trying dinner next.

Yelp
This is a new venture. They've only been open since July. They are getting ready to break new ground on a hotel. But they have an amphitheater with periodic shows,an RV Park, winery and distillery. We only visited the 1894 restaurant. In a small Texas town, this is fine dining. I ordered the flight of wine and brought home a bottle. After tasting several wines, I brought home a bottle of the Sangiovese.. I am usually a Chardonnay girl but the Pinot Grigio and the Sangiovese were my favorites. I ordered the red fish and ask for brussels sprouts instead of roasted vegetables. They were happy to oblige. I was happy that they did because the brussels sprouts are not to be missed! My husband had the chicken and said it was delicious! The hostess, Penny, was so friendly that I feel like I need to go back and visit her like an old friend. She said the chef worked for 13 years with Wolfgang Puck and after eating,, his/her food I believe it. We had reservations for Saturday night at 6:30. The service was spot on! Mary Ann was very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely go back to this one. After a week of eating conference food, which was not bad, and Mexican food, again, not bad at all, this was a Welcome change.

Yelp
The food was amazing and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful. Our waitress was Hannah and she was a sweetheart. Would definitely come back again and enjoy some whiskey!

Yelp
We just left Mother's Day brunch and were completely underwhelmed by the service. My husband loved the burger and Bloody Mary. I ordered the lemon mascarpone crepes with berries and chocolate sauce and there was no lemon or chocolate sauce. Our waitress was nowhere to be found so I went to the bartender and this is what my meal finally looked like.

Yelp
WOW!! Everything about this place is spectacular. If you are looking for a place that will fit everyone's tastes then this is the stop for you. Beer-they got it & it's great---Spirits- yup, they got it too! We tried the pink pineapple bourbon margarita & it was fantastic. Wine-absolutely perfect. We also, had dinner & loved the Wagyu/Angus steaks! We learned that it is a true Texas winery & the owners go back 6 generations here in Texas. We love supporting Texas and we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Beautiful place but I'm sure the Café de olla I drank was intended to be a horse parasite killer

Loren D.

Yelp
Roasted pork chop, fantastic. I substituted the veggies and potatoes for the cream spinach.

Yelp
Found this park after our normal RV park would not allow our new rescue dog because it is part Pitbull. Beth was the woman who went out of her way to speak to the manager Jody who then said YES to our rescue. We got really lucky because this park has great hiking trails, very nice sites and convenient to everything Fredericksburg. There is a restaurant within walking distance to the RV spots. We will be back! Thanks Jody and Beth!

Yelp
The ambiance is nice, but will be much better once the parking lot is paved. Beautiful building. The service is good, but they don't want you to use salt. I believe the waitress had to go to the kitchen to get us a small dish of salt because it took awhile. We were finished with the appetizer before it arrived. The food is extremely slow & it seemed the waitress got upset with me when I asked where our food was. 45 minutes after we ordered, our food arrived. I suspect they want you to drink more so food is slow. I cannot drink & the don't have tea. The food was delicious. So if you drink alcohol & aren't in a hurry, definitely go.
