Archie Moore's Bar & Restaurant

Asked the guy on the phone about 40 wings, he told me they do 42 for like 70 something dollars so I said ok, I’ll just take the 35 wings for $60. We get there and the friggin guy gave us the 42 wings so we ended paying like almost $15 more than we wanted to. The wings are ok at best, definitely not worth almost $2 apiece, especially when you’re buying in bulk. The blue cheese (to me) is absolutely disgusting because the cut up raw onion and put it in the blue cheese mixture. Overall, just not worth it. After all these years, it still seems like only their buffalo chicken dip is worth getting. There must be like 20 wings left over.

Went here for a date night with my husband—the ambiance was great and we really enjoyed the atmosphere, but the food and service were just average. For appetizers, we ordered the loaded nachos with buffalo chicken, which were surprisingly filling and left us with little appetite for the entrées. Since we had already placed our entrée order, we got it packed to go. We had the Charleston chicken burgers, but they had a sweet flavor we didn’t really enjoy.

Food is always amazing here. I had one of the best pulled pork nachos. My other half enjoyed the buffalo chicken wrap, which is made with their in-house buffalo sauce. The atmosphere is fun and inviting. They also have a large outdoor seating area. This restaurant is right in downtown Milford, near the Marina. After we ate, we walked around enjoying the Milford green and the Marina.

I spend 35$ asking for crispy wings over the phone for pickup. Wasn’t late to pick it up or anything, only for my wings to be sitting in a container full of sauce that I had to individually take out and sit on the plastic container top. I feel very disrespect and dissatisfied, this is more than disappointing.

Clean comfy and spacious place to dine In. Wings are super delicious. Always serves the food fresh n service is quick even when it get busy. Bar menu is decent as well. Weekends specials are amazing. Make sure you book the table beforehand. Always get crowded especially over the weekends.

I went in for a jack & coke beverage, ordered some food, and handed the bartender a $20 bill. My change was supposed to be about $2.41, never got it. I asked the bartender about my change and he said "You know your supposed to tip your bartender right"? And I explained I don't tip until after I'm done and that I was going to get more to drink after I ate my food. He angrily handed me my change and told me that after I get my food me and my friends had to leave. They gave me my food in a TAKEOUT tin even though I wasn't intending on leaving, all because I don't tip after every single time he made a drink. I let him know that he lost his rights to a tip and he missed out on a large tip. I usually tip 15-20$ after I'm finished at the bar. I don't know what made him think he can just pocket all my change while I'm ordering things. I'm supposed to decide when you get a tip. Careful ordering drinks here, and remember how much you are charged, the bartenders pocket any of your change and still expect tips at the end of the night from you. Oh please.

I had lunch here and I got the Bison burger it was cooked very well fresh and delicious. The homade pickle and the fries were good as well and the size of the burger was big too the restaurant had a nice laid back atmosphere. Great place overall.

I ordered take out because I had some friends visiting, some of my coworkers recommended me this place and giveb the online popularity I decided to give it a try for the first time. i could not be more dissapointed. The wings were horrible. Soggy, they smelled and tasted like burned old oil was used to fry them, some of them were as hard as a rock (rating 3/10) The french fries were disgusting. It felt like I was chewing gum. Probably the worst one I've tried in my life (rating 1/10). The pizza was ok. Nothing crazy -not as bad as the fries and wings, but the chicken had no flavor so we rated it at 5/10.

The namesake of the Archie Moore's chain IS NOT the famous boxer, Archie Moore. Instead, this Archie Moore was a restauranteur from 1890's New Haven. Today, there are five Archie Moore's restaurants named after THAT Archie Moore. Now that we cleared that up, let me tell you about the lunch three of us had at the Milford Archie Moore's. Quite simply, we had a blast! We were looking for a place that had a sports bar feel and would be televising the NY Giants-Green Bay Packers game. Well, that wasn't really an issue because most of the TVs at Archie's were broadcasting the game. Our dining room had one outlier of a TV that showed the Buffalo Bills- Tampa Bay Bucs game. I walked in at 12:30 and the dining room was not very crowded, but 45 minutes later every table was taken -a mix of small groups, couples, and families with children. That seems understandable when you take a look at Archie's menu, which is as broad and varied as one could possibly want. A visit to Archie's starts with the chicken wings they are famous for. There are nine flavors in six sizes of "with or without" bone varieties. After that, you'll be challenged to decide among their appetizers, nachos, sandwiches, grilled cheese, wraps, pizzas, burgers, salads, entrees, etc. Seriously, their menu would seem at home in a New Jersey or Long Island diner. We started off with a shared platter of ten boneless Garlic Parmesan wings ($14.99) and I have to say....they were amazing. Big meaty chunks of white meat with a crunchy coating and a delicious parmesan cheese dusted sauce. The three of us went with three burgers.... Well, sort of. My brother had a traditional burger with sweet potato French fries ($18.49), my nephew went with a special of the day- a double Smash Burger with fries ($17.50), and I had a Garden Salad ($10.50) with an added burger patty ($7.99). I have to point out that the burger added to my salad was a monster burger of "over a half pound of ground 100% premium beef". It was outstanding. Drinks were $6.95 for an Athletic NA beer and $5.75 for a Coors Light. Our server was a cheerful and helpful young lady named Sam who did a great job checking on us and filling the water glasses. There were plenty of leftovers at our table, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Archie's. Lunch for three with two beers ran $88.21 after tax and before tip.

This is my fav Archie's and it's because they have the best seating and usually parking. The noise level is high though very echoey with games on. The nachos (all flavors) are a fav, the veg potato skins another fav, the appetizer beer battered chicken tenders so good, the fish & chips are good. This Archie's always has a drink menu (wish the others did too) which is really great because I freeze up not knowing what to order for alcohol at bars and this makes it easier. Service is usually staffed well and attentive at all the Archie's.

We went on trivia night (accidentally) when we arrived there was loud music playing like you'd expect to hear in a bar, within 15 minutes the music went off and the trivia person started talking on the mic at the same volume the music had been playing. They did have a side of Watermelon on the menu which was a first, we got it, it was very good.

We come here for the Nachos. The ratio of cheese and other toppings to chips is insane. After eating half the portion, we were stuffed. We planned to take the remainder home and add more chips to balance it out. There were several TVs in the bar and dining area all showing different football games. It's a bit loud. There's outside dining during warmer months. Several things on the menu looked appetizing, but we always get the nachos and a Guinness.

Average- just average. For some reason, this location never lives up to the New Haven or even the Wallingford location. It's too bad, as there is so much potential with the deck. It seems to me the food is average at best and the people working there over the years, couldn't care less about the customer. We went there after a long hiatus. Nothing has changed, it was average. Wings were ok, sandwiches were ok, service was blah. Watched waitstaff scrolling their phones waiting for their shift to end. Inside hadn't changed since it opened. The Coca Cola signage and Irish bar motif is classic in New Haven, as much of it is original signage. The replica decor in Milford is old and stale in Milford.

I was craving a large juicy burger.The menu said they were over half pound. Not true. I got a thin, dry, tasteless burger. Medicore fries. Lousy service. Decor was completely Coca Cola signs.

Classic bar. The wings were great! Beer and alcohol selection was larger than average.

Great place for a quick light bite. The restaurant was clean, organized and provided a nice variety on the menu. The staff was friendly and professional. Our waitress was efficient and we were in and out in a timely fashion. There is plenty of parking nearby.

We placed a 2k order and picked it up. ( Which we paid over the phone) When we picked it up the manager insisted we leave a tip. Unaware of this we told them it's not our credit card it's a company card. After calling our manager we approved a $20.00 tip. The manager was still complaining. Very rude making a seen. They didn't help us bring the food out. Bottom line, the manager told us not to come back! Our manager was going to go back after work and give them $100 until we told him she doesn't want our business. Pretty sad.

Always tasty experience at Archie Moore's! Instead of my typical nachos order (their pulled pork and buffalo chicken nachos are out of this world) I went with a burger which was cooked to perfection and came out speedily. Despite it being a fairly busy Saturday afternoon, we got excellent service and as usual, the ambiance here is a fun pub with a great outdoor patio! Great for groups!

Ive gotten their Buffalo sauce at the grocery store and enjoyed it so I decided it was time to try the real thing and come to the restaurant. It was my first time here. Shared the 14 count Buffalo wings which is a mild/medium sauce only comes in one level. They were cooked just right, asked for them to be fried hard, crispy on the outside tender on the inside just how I like it. They were delicious! We also got an order of the sweet potato fries which were also very good. Staff was friendly. Overall prices are comparable to other wing locations. Fries are a little pricey however they give you a good amount of them. I would definitely come back here and recommend it if you're in the area. We did not try any of the other food so not sure how it is, but I definitely recommend the wings!

I have been coming to this exact location basically my whole life. I was always able to count on the tower of nachos to satisfy my cravings but it has gone downhill. They don't layer the cheese or toppings, and the chips have become very oily. As for the side chili it's always been sweet and always left off to the side. As for the wings, I tried the garlic parm wings which left me wanting something else to eat. The chicken was oily and could taste the oil more than the garlic or parm. LOVE their bleu cheese though, chunky and thick! The service is always good, they have it down to a routine and help each other out. Always nice waitstaff

This was my first time to the Milford location. We were greeted at the doors and asked if we wanted out or in, We choose in. The Hostess/waitress was very friendly and pleasant. She immediately took our drink order and was very prompt to bring them back. Gave us time to review the menu which has plenty for everyone. The restaurant was moderately busy and the food came out rather quick and it was hot and fresh. I asked for crispy chicken in my wrap rather than grilled. It was enough to feed 2 people. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the eggplant fries light and crispy. Everyone at the table didn't have a scrap left. Yum!! We were there for a few hours and the waitress didn't rush us and was very attentive. Dining area and bathrooms were all clean. I'll be back for those fries!

Long time and delicious neighborhood spot. Consistently great food (especially wings) and the home of what I personally think is the best ranch on earth! If they sold this I would seriously buy a bucket. I recently tried the garlic parm waffle fries and tater tot nachos with hot honey chicken - both were amazing.

Let's start off by saying that I LOVE the fact that Nachos have their own section on their menu. They don't go in the appetizer section because nachos are their own special entity. Rightfully so!! Kudos to Archie Moore's for that! Picture this: crisp tortilla chips topped with melted Monterey Jack cheese and jalapenos, served with tomato salsa and sour cream. We got their Buffalo Nachos that are topped with grilled chicken marinated in our buffalo wing sauce, onions and more jalapenos. Holy deliciousness. And a good spice kick to it! My trip before this one I had the Nachos Grande- layered with spicy beef, onions, tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, olives and Monterey Jack cheese, served with tomato salsa and sour cream. Both of these nachos are a homerun. Here's why- 1. They're big in portion- a nice mound. Presentation matters! Def a nice Wow factor when it arrives! 2. Chips stay crisp. No limp chip here. Who wants a soggy chip? Nope. 3. Toppings are spread equally throughout. Key to a successful nacho. 4. The cheese gives you a nice pull on so many bites. Huge fan of cheese, so that's always a must. 5 Star Nachos! They have got their nachos down to a science at Archie Moore's. I've had drinks here. "This is My Last One" doesn't disappoint either. Have I ventured away from nachos here? Nope. But if you've got a good thing going, why deviate? Up next to try- their Pulled Pork Nachos topped with shredded barbecue pork, onions and jalapenos served with sour cream and salsa. I. Can't. Wait!

I have been a loyal fan of Archies for years first starting in New Haven then Fairfield, Milford and Derby. They are consistent which is important. You know that you will get what you are ordering every time. Portions are large and often I share a sandwich with my husband. Their prices are fair. Service has been good and servers tend to be very friendly and helpful.

Totally based on food. I ordered a fajita bowl with portobello mushroom. I asked for no cheese or sour cream. see picture. The mushroom was saturated with...barbecue sauce?

Waitress Sam was attentive. Sat outside, nice vibe. Would go again! Food was good, drinks tasty!

Have came a couple times for trivia night on Thursday. It definitely draws in a crowd! We've come after work with at least 8 individuals and Archie Moores in Milford has been very accommodating to our large group, though jt was a tight squeeze but no complaints. Service for our large group was smooth and without complaints. I am a big fan of the boneless chicken wings, I have gotten it many times and the portion size was big, and chicken was tender.

Not like the old days r that's for sure. Tried the beer batter chicken sandwich,, not good.. over cooked. Wife beer battered fish over cooked . Friend order wings .. not good. Never been to Archie's and had a bad meal. Except tonight.

Archie Moore's has delicious American food. Their burgers have juicy meet, fresh tomato and are a great portion size. The fries are salty, and best when warm. One of my favorite dinner items are their pulled pork nachos. Although listed as an appetizer, the nachos are huge and can serve as a full meal for 2-3. They are cheesy and packed with toppings and pork that has a delicious flavor.

Called in an order for 21 wings tonight, a Wednesday night for pick up. The male taking my order should have been my first clue as he was pretty rude. But, how bad can chicken wings be from a place that is known for their wings? They were overcooked, dried up and basically just nasty. The wings looked and tasted like they were re-cooked 2 or 3 xs during the day. Absolutely appalling they had the audacity to put them in containers. Yesterday while I was leaving work in Milford, CT. I was told that @Archie Moore's has the best wings in Milford. I said say no more, I'm on my way . I turned on Google Maps and headed over. This restaurant had a great outdoor deck and patio. We sat outside and got straight to business. I ordered Jay's Jungle Juice, Garlic Parmesan wings, and Peach Chipotle wings. I asked the waitress if the peach chipotle had a kick to them, she said not really. Ummmm they did Water please, lol . Stephanie ordered a ginger ale (she's the designated driver) and Charleston Chicken wrap. She said the chicken was dropped in the bbq sauce but lacked seasoning. Overall the sandwich was okay. The chicken wings were fried crispy but also lacked seasoning, no salt or pepper, not even a little seasoning salt. Just tossed in the sauce and bam on the table. I hadn't been here in almost 30 years. It looks pretty much the same. I made the mistake of returning when I was in town for the Oyster Festival and was looking for someplace to escape the heat. I wasn't the only one with this thought. It was a free-for-all as tables emptied from one group and new groups were fighting over it. People hovering around chairs at the bar, taking them over if someone got up for any reason (one poor guy who was eating at the bar kept leaving to answer phone calls--every time he got up, two or three people tried to move in, and the bartender had to intervene so he could finish his food). Granted it wasn't ideal circumstances, but with wet floors and dishes all over the place (bussers couldn't keep up with the turnover - and people were just shoving the dishes from the last patrons to one side to sit down), it wasn't a great way to reacquaint myself with the place, and made me think that the managers could have done a better job preparing, in light of the fact they do this every year. If I'm down in that area again, I'll give them another go. They were usually top notch, and, like I said, not optimum conditions on that day. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Found two open seats at the bar. It took a minute but the service from then on was great. Local I've music was decent. My fish & chips were just perfect. I prefer without too much breading. Hubby got the so so pot stickers but loved the Brussels sprouts and tots. We def will return.

Food was over cooked and very dry. Nice atmosphere but not worth it for the stomach pains. Don't waste your money and go somewhere edible.

Reliable place with some of the best wings around. I really enjoy the Buffalo wings as well as the general tso wings. The service is always good here and I can count on a great meal!

Let's me start off by saying Margaret gave some superb service! We ordered sweet potatoe fries, onion rings, buffalo wings and boneless bbq wings! Everything was perfect and the food came out within 10 minutes. I prefer this location much more than the one in New Haven. My wife wanted mostly drumsticks for buffalo wings and they ensured that concurred. New Haven location usually say that they will try and the wings come out no different... like no effort to add extra drumsticks. Also the fries are cut differently and there is for sure more space at this location. I will for sure come back to this location! Favorite place to get wings!!! Also if you are a football fan, it's a great place for that! Many screens and different games are playing at the same time!!!

I thought that the food was very good. They have amazing wings and chicken sandwiches but, the service could be better. The ambiance is pretty nice.

This is my favorite bar food in the area. I love the menu. There is something for everyone. Boneless wings are great. Service is prompt. Look forward to returning.

If you want wings, come here. They have really good appetizers as well. The appetizers are so big that you can get it as a meal which is what I usually do. They have a great Shirley temple and always have sports games if that's your go to. Menu has loads so you can try something different each time you come.

Best wings and nachos in the world and a deck that is perfect for summer beer drinking. Parking is easy. Service is friendly.

Love this place come here all the time and it is always good. Either for lunch, dinner, or a quick drink with friends it always hits the spot. Wide variety as well burgers, wraps, plenty of apps, salads, flatbreads and of course wings. Everything is always good from here. If you're in the area definitely stop by!

Archies is pretty solid for takeout during Covid 19. Of course you have to have the wings. They are so good! The buffa-cue is great and different. Have tried many things on the menu, but perhaps my fav is the Buffalo chicken quesadilla!! You've gotta try it. Can't wait till the warmer weather so we can come and dine in outside.

The two stars is for the good service primarily. I had the beer battered chicken sandwich. The chicken was mostly burnt and flavor was minimalistic. The bun was additionally burnt and remniscent of sand/cardboard combination. The bun was completely dry and had absolutely no mayo, nothing to salvage the sahara desert of a sandwich. The only reason I returned here for another visit was Colony had a 90 minute wait, as well as a few other better options had high wait times in the nearby vicinty.

During non Covid times and summer, the patio at Archie Moore's is the perfect place to gather with friends. Make sure to check out their nachos but come prepared with an appetite and 3 friends with appetites. We got the pulled pork nachos to go as they are not doing indoor dining right now. They were just as delicious as I remember and survived relatively warm on the ride home. They also came in a metal pan which would make it easy to warm them up if you wished to. I appreciated that extra detail. Staff was warm and welcoming when we arrived to pick them up and website was easy to navigate to order. Also try their Buffalo chicken nachos, wings or calamari as they are also delicious and I think would translate well to go. Look forward to going back for sharing on the outdoor patio next summer and more Togo orders until then.

Love their wings! Super friendly service and comfortable atmosphere. Comfort food galore. Always my Hubby and my preferred date night spot. And if you like ribs you have to give them a try, they are delicious!

Bar is open, that is one good thing! Bar food, Bar bites, very common. Nothing to rave about. Food is ok staff is wonderful and sociable. Wings really went down hill I remember them being fantastic back in the day......? If the food was better I would frequent.

Food was excellent. Came quickly after we ordered. Ordered 35 wings and that was definitely too much for two people. Also got a Greek salad. That was phenomenal. Definitely a good dish to start out with. The waffle fries are delicious too. But the place was incredibly loud. This is literally the only thing keeping me from 5-stars.

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. The hospitality was some of the worst we have ever had. The server never checked in us until we were done eating and about threw us out the door. The food came out cold and was not good. They carried no food or drink on trays and everything by hand which is completely unsanitary. Do not go here go to SBC.

The locals seem to really overrate this place. Food tastes like it came out of my freezer.

On the Wepawaug river. I was here for a young business leaders' dinner. Food was dry and just regular bar-type ruebens, flat burgers, shrimps and pizzettes. Scenery was nice. Awful parking in some high school lot. Bar tenders were hanging around negligently and inattentively! Rebel review: 3.5

They have an outdoor patio and bar. On a Friday night the problem is the parking, not the wait. We only had to wait about 10 minutes for a outside table for 3. Mu fiance spent about 15 mintues driving around the public parking spaces until he ventured a few streets over and found a lot near an ice cream shop. The wings (regular spicy) are very good. I was starving so I can't give an unbiased opinion. I ordered the gyro burger with fries. It was very good. The bun was a pita triangle and the burger was seasoned with Mediterranean spices and dill. I could taste the dill. There was an homage to tzkiki and sone feta chese chunks. The pickle tasted homemade which was nice. Like a kosher half-sour.

this food was amazing , it was properly seasoned in all the right ways!! I definitely recommend. the service was terrific. i recommend coming to this restaurant. it's very flavorful , and the tv's had awesome two great awakened sports , hockey & basketball. It's been five years and the food still sucks. The buffalo nachos didn't have buffalo sauce on them. Not on the side either. Weak. New Haven location is on-point, though.
