Archie's Grill

The service was friendly and the food was great! The burger and house made chips were perfect for lunch. They also allow dogs on their patio- always a plus.

I tried this place last year and I thought it was OK. Had a burger and fries, and thought they were fine. Today my partner wanted a burger and we were in the area. Glad I did because the food was so much better. She had a burger, which, again was fine. She ordered sweet potatoe fries, and they may be the best sweet potato fries we've ever had. The best thing was the chili dog. I will be back for that. It was fantastic. I would say only Sonic has a better fast food chili dog. This is a strong second. Also had the chips they make at the restaurant. They are good, but more of a novelty. If you like sweet potato fries then get these. Also, try something other than the burger. Again, it's fine, but I got a feeling their other menu items might be better. The chili dog certainly was.

We went to Scoops and the ice cream was fantastic! We both got hard scooped sundaes. One is a brownie sundae and I think just chocolate ice cream. The one that still has the cherry on top is a turtle sundae with chocolate and vanilla. I had to try the basics this time and I was not disappointed! Recommend? Yes!

Fantastic food. The fries were the prefect level of crispy and hearty. I ordered the salmon burger and my friend got the falafel burger. The food was incredible and the prices were very cheap. We will definitely be coming back here again in the future. If are hungry and close by or live near shelburne road it is well worth the stop!!!

I would give this a five star based on our second visit but on our first visit however, we were told by an employee at the door to not bother staying because we would not be served food for another 40 minutes. So, we left. In addition, on our second visit when we were trying to decide what things to compost, recycle or throw out, the same worker told us not to bother because they don't actually compost. This person seems to not be happy to be working there. Otherwise the food is absolutely fantastic, fresh and full of variety. We will be returning the next time we are in Vermont. My vegetarian daughter was very happy with the number of veggie burgers available.

We loved it. Squeaky clean and great fresh food. The hot fog and the chicken sandwich were crisp and delicious. We took another mozzarella sticks since it was so good. Great double IPA beer too. Plenty of sitting I side and outdoor and great service.

Got a Village cheeseburger with chips, and a Vermont bacon burger with chips. Everything was Delicious 😋 The chips were made in house, and sprinkled with cheese. Perfect place for a good lunch.

We found this place to be very overrated & very expensive. We were also a little disappointed. For a burger joint, the burgers are very small in my opinion. The ice cream, well, $18 for 2 ice cream cones is highway robbery in my opinion. Make the trip to Ben & Jerries, the ice cream is way better & cheaper.

Food was excellent. But the upfront tipping is ridiculous. In fact I seen no reason to tip at all. You stand and order . You get buzzed and pick up your meal. So on a 50 dollar order you should tip 10 dollars for doing your own work. Poor suckers are forced to tip via the guilt route. Scam if you ask me.

This was a recommendation from my sister who visits the area often. I was passing through and had to stop. Plus, not eating a real meal for a day, I was starving. They have seating outside or indoors. You go in and order at the counter and then they give you a buzzer to get your food. I was traveling with my dog and didn't want to take her inside to get my food. the staff was great and brought my food outside for me and even gave my fur baby a treat! The horseradish burger was delicous. I got it with french fries. Everything tasted great! The topping to a great meal is The Scoop ice cream shop is attached to Archies. After a great meal, stop by and get some ice cream. What a lovely laid back dinner spot.

My wife and I went there yesterday with our daughter and our grandson and we were not disappointed. We visited the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory and I asked someone working there where to go for lunch and they suggested Archies. It's counter service but they were very quick to assist me with carrying our food to the table. I was going to make two trips, but they assisted without being asked. We got the chipotle sirloin, chipotle chicken, turkey burger, and childs Mac and cheese. All were very good. I would definitely go back.

Took a flyer on this place because the restaurant we love was closed. Really impressed with the Philly cheesesteak and the salad we had. And their homemade chips are amazing. I'd definitely come back.

Not bad...not great. When you buy a pound of beef at the grocery store and throw it in your frying pan it tastes about the same as that. I've been up and down their menu and never been fully impressed although sometimes the onion rings are really great. The original owner had a great attitude, but the new management is not nearly as friendly unless they know you. There are much better options for burgers in the area now. Still, could be worse. Their ice cream spot next-door is at a much better level of quality. Have no complaints about that!

Vegetarian review! I heard a lot about this burger joint in Shelburne however I wasn't a huge fan. My friends and I tried the falafel burger and the smoky black bean burger. My meat eating friend also tried the meat ones however wasn't a huge fan either, however, did like the pineapple twist in the one he tried. The burgers are really dry and a little expensive for what you're getting. I do have to say the ambiance is great as it shares a space with the Spot, an ice cream place, in a field of games/outdoor seating. Yummy if you are in Shelburne but definitely better places near by

I should have known not to order the milkshake. I waited 20 minutes while 5 guys behind the counter twiddled their thumbs. Then, one asked me..."Are you waiting for something?" Shocked that they were so attentive, I reminded them about my order then, realizing they were clueless, I asked for a refund (along with my upfront 20% tip.). At this point the guy yelled at one of the other clueless guys to "Get the milkshake, Dude!!" I told them I was late for my next thing and asked again for a refund. Five grown men had to call for their manager to do a refund. This was 3:00 PM when nothing else was going on. It's not like they were busy. They were just clueless. At least look busy, Dudes.

So disappointed in this burger, patty was so small and online ordering does not allow for the addition of condiments or substitutions. This was listed in one of our magazines as one of the best burger restaurants in the state but I will disagree.

Well....although I've enjoyed stopping here many times on my way home I will NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!! Food is good and prices are decent. Stopped in on a slow Thursday night. There were about 8 people inside eating and the usual staff is in the kitchen. I was notified that any food would be AN HOUR WAIT....what? Huh? How can this be? He pointed to a cue of about 10-15 order tickets lined up for online/ pickup. Ok... but the grill had like 4 burgers on it!!! It makes no sense. After I walked out there was a family with kids turned away that came out just as dumbfounded and disappointed as me. Hey Archie's- here's a tip for you-- maybe don't turn away customers that made an effort to come to you! It's much nicer to turn away customers that call on the phone. I Headed on up to Bliss Bee instead, where they also serve very good local meat burgers and I had mine in 10 minutes with 3 times the people eating in and multiple to go orders on the shelf.

Was traveling home and came across Archie's Grill. Glad we did. Very friendly atmosphere. Great deal on Sunday , the cheese burger Special. This was a chipotle burger, mushrooms and Swiss, your choice of side and a fountain drink. Under 10 bucks. Half price hot wings. 8.00. Can't go wrong and these sure did rock. Spicy maple syrup. Loved them. Give a shout out for the home made chips. Excellent crunch and flavor. Also enjoyed the onion rings. Everyone was well satisfied with their burgers. We were a group of 7. Took longer cause we ended up feeding our granddaughter. We were there a long time and at no time did they make us feel uncomfortable. Just the opposite. Very cute place we very good made to order food !

Cute place. We stopped by for burgers and drinks outside and enjoyed it until it rained. You have to go inside to order and they'll give you a buzzer-- which they take very very seriously! There's a nice condiment station and there are all kinds of meat options as you make choices. I added on a glass of rose which I enjoyed with my turkey burger meal. I had no idea they had fries, I seemed to have skipped that on the menu. But for 1.00 more you can add them. I ended up adding a side of fries after being disappointed with the chips so I only have minus one star for not knowing that. There's an ice cream shop attached that's super awesome as well. I left without pictures because it poured down raining on us outside.

I was told there were no carrots on this because my wife is deathly allergic to carrots but I was told there were none in the Greek salad. So I get home and there are carrots and I call the restaurant and the woman Kristen argued that there are no carrots on the salad and then rudely hung up the phone. I don't usually write reviews, I'm just pissed about how they treated me.

Great food! This is a VERY popular spot that is surprisingly well hidden on a main road. That being said, plan ahead to have to wait. It's worth it though. No lie.

Weird ordering system, bad customer service, a blonde lady in charge was very rude and looked like she hated customers. She was very unprofessional and gave us several dirty looks. Our cider and beer were extremely flat, our burgers were ok but our sides were disgusting. The coleslaw looked and tasted a week old. I'm not sure why they ask for tips when it's all self serve and they literally do nothing to help you.

Archie's Grill is amazing! The Food is delicious! There is somewhat of a wait for the food but so worth it. The staff is super nice when they take your order. It was very clean and the seat is comfortable! Definitely recommend

Stopped by for a burger. I had heard people talking about the place with pretty good reviews. Wait for 35-37 minutes for a burger and fries. Finally went and asked and the food was never made. Not acceptable....

Tonight I ordered takeout from Archie's and I asked if the Greek salad had carrots on it because my wife is allergic. The woman I talked to named Kristen guaranteed there were no carrots on the salad. When I brought the food home, my wife opened it up and there were carrots everywhere. I even tasted one to make sure and it was definitely a carrot. So I called back and Kristen argued with me that there are no carrots on the salad. She said it was roasted red peppers. We see the roasted red peppers and what we were referring to was not that. So instead of refunding us for the salad, she rudely hung up on me. And the burgers were not medium well either, like we had asked for.

Stopped last night and I have nothing but good things to say. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I found out they have 3 different fryers, one for seafood, one for frys, and one Gluten-free! The food was excellent as always! Thanks Archies!!! Some day I will try something other than a burger.

Take the food quality and cheerfully chill ambience of a shake shack add Vermont-raised beef and a killer selection of salads and you have Archie's! This place is amazing and I am so happy I looked at yelp and went out of my way to go here. Super kid friendly, great draft beer and cider selection, great indoor seating, great outdoor patio overlooking a faux town green complete with gazebo. There is also a homemade ice cream shop next door! Archie's, you overwhelmed me. Keep up the good work. We can't wait to come back!!

What a great find! Great decor, friendly service, tons of menu options. Archies offers a whole bunch of burger and salad options. They use local beef and cheese as well as vegetarian options. Oh and did I mention there's homemade ice cream next door? Definitely worth the stop.

I liked them at first but they take forever to overcook your overpriced food. Took 40 minutes to get this overcooked chum bucket.

Amazing food, quality, and prices. Food definitely took a bit long, but so worth the wait! The beyond burger was a great price and cooked beautifully, but the sweet potato burger lacked a little salt. The side chips and onion rings were so crispy and delicious. We also recommend the fish and chips!

Food was amazing and very well prepared!! Service was a little slow and the lady at the front taking the order seemed as if she was in a hurry taking my order and was a little rude. But over all it's good. Very clean place and creemees next door are to die for!!

tasty burgers, felt like the portions where bad and over priced. payed $6 for 4 mozzarella sticks. shroom burger only had one pickle.

How does it take a half hour for an order of fries? I'm an exec chef, I won't leave the typical "I'm a chef so let me tell you how to fix it" review but come on, how do fries take a half hour when there are NO customers. The grill cook looks like he's asleep as he works...man it must be hard finding decent staff lately

Always a pleasure since the day they opened at the old location!! I was pleasantly surprised to find a new thing, Taco Tuesdays!! Though I came to satisfy a hankering for a burger, it was a tough call and difficult to resist the lure of the tacos. Service with a smile, and the cashier even acknowledged a family member who had a special occasion coming up that he overheard. That was very nice of him. The burgers are consistently incredible and a solid third place in the list of my favorite burger joints. No matter what the topping, the execution is great in both taste and texture. Never overloaded and spilling with veggies or sauce like some places. Boylan's root beer as well as Hinesburg's own Frost beer are on tap-- wow!! What more can I say? A staple of Shelburne and a place I'm always satisfied to visit!

I like this place most of the time, but I stopped in today and the cashier/manager on duty was nothing but rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. I realize in a busy environment orders can get out of hand but having such a rude worker at the front cashier is not a good look, to say the least. proceeded to leave us hanging to check on something mid-order. Too top it off decided to swear explicative at us after finishing ordering. really disappointing service.

Really good burgers with local meat on amazing brioche rolls. I didn't try the veggie bigger option but they have one. Salads are local greens and well balanced, house made dressings. Honestly one of the best meals I've had in a long time, will definitely be back!

Archie's Grill loosely translated means delicious! After being ignored down the street at the Dutch Mill we wandered over to Archie's Grill, what a wonderful end to a bad experience. Fresh, delicious food,friendly staff and quick service..the whole package.

Stopped here on vacation. Really good place for local food. The wife had a French dip that was delicious and I had a cheeseburger with horseradish. Both tasted very fresh and locally made. The son had a grilled cheese with his kids meal that he enjoyed also. And friendly staff. Highly recommend!!

It's always worth the trip to Archie's! Loved it in its previous location and so excited to find it again - in a new and bigger location! - last time we could make it there. Food is scrumptious and atmosphere is chill. Perfect laid back combo.

Stopped here while staying in Burlington. They have a lot of burger options. I got the bleu burger and it was really good blue cheese. My boyfriend got a cheesesteak and it was good but nothing special. The staff is friendly and they gave us a little chips while we were waiting for our food. The homemade chips were amazing. There is also an icecream right beside it if you want a milkshake with your meal

Looks great online. But has terrible food. Found mold on my burger bun. Overall wasn't impressed. I would rate this place a 0 out of 10.

Husband and I stopped here after a long day of traveling and brewery stops. The Archie Burger and the VT bacon Cheeseburger totally hit the spot and was just what we needed to end our day. We tried the special of Honey jalapeño wings which tasted great but had zero jalapeño flavor. Their hand cut fries and pickles were delicious as well. We enjoyed the semi- fast food aspect and would definitely come back the next time we're in the Burlington area!

Date night! I was so happy to see that they had cheerwine soda from down south in the fridge! Never seen it up north and have always wanted to try it. That alone just made my day. I got a philly cheesesteak and the amazing flavorful chips! There was no disappointments from my end only damn, its all gone! My husband on the other hand, didn't like his burger, it was undercooked, too pink in the middle and apparently it tasted strongly like pickles. Overall I would surely return, the chips and soda would have me coming back!

Very unremarkable burgers but remarkably slow service. Should take a page out of the Al's or Five Guys book.

I concur the food is great. I'm vegetarian and had the Greek salad. It was amazingly flavorful. Spouse had Horseradish burger with first bite he stated "Oh man that's yummy." What really appealed to my social consciousness was that all dishes, cups, utensils, wine cans and to go boxes are biodegradable and compostable.

Extremely slow service. It took one hour and forty minutes minutes to get two burgers and fries on a Thursday night. The food is great, but it's not worth the wait especially when it took forty minutes longer than the pickup time we had received. When we arrived at our pickup time, they said it would seven more minutes. We waited fifteen and then they said it would just another minute. We waited a few more minutes and they said it would take fifteen. No apologies, just "we're busy".

Came in on a whim with a friend. Ordered fish and chips. Delish! Friend enjoyed her Archie Burger! Staff helpful and friendly! Great place, great atmosphere and good food!

great local burger joint! they could get the five star rating if they bumped up the condiments and the bread. The burger was tasty and was made from locally sourced beef. But the bun did not enhance the horseradish burger it was a bit too big and doughy! The tomato and lettuce should have been better and the coleslaw was inedible

A step above fast food and burger stands done right with fresh local ingredients. I went with a bacon cheese burger with Vermont Cabot cheddar and local produced bacon. Fresh cut fries or house made chips pair with the burger for fresh flavors. If you want a quick bite to eat but don't want the generic burgers for the usual suspects check out Archie's Grill.

First time checking this spot out and it in its new location. The outside is still under a bit of construction but appeared to be wrapping up. The inside was clean, new and had great energy. Fast food-esque but with a fresh spin to it. The menu had a variety of options, local booze like Citizen Cider, Frost, etc. to pick from and homemade ice cream (so damn good). I went with the chicken tender sandwich with fries - and I was NOT disappointed. I couldn't put it down. The French fries received two thumbs up! And I ended with a maple Heath cliff milkshake which was a happy ending to our visit. Prices were a bit more than I'd imagine but serving sizes matched appropriately. We will definitely go back!

Archie's is a reliable local restaurant with excellent food. The service is almost as good as the onion rings.

Love this place!!! Always stop in when I'm Vermont. The menus is vast and really embodies the local flavor. Owner is super nice.
