Hidden gem. I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The place is coz and the ambiance is romantic and very nice. The music was great. Lots of 70s and early 80s r&b. The service was attentive. The food was delicious. My favorite of the appetizers was the saffron shrimp. The cabbage fried rice was gad a nice smoky flavor. And the Detroit pizza was really good. The bisque had a very nice flavor with some heat. I will definitely be returning to try the other dishes.

It was nice, beautiful day this past Saturday and we decided to take a leisurely stroll to City Island. We happened upon Archie's and decided to give it a try. We were greeted by the hostess who seated ups promptly. She was friendly, attentive, and helpful with beer recommendations. The restaurant is a nice and quaint place tucked away from the weekend City Island madness. I can really envision sitting here during the warmer months and enjoying a nice cold brew. The food came out quickly, was piping hot, and delicious. The portions are generous. The buttermilk fried chicken is extremely juicy and delectable! I will definitely stop by again and give brunch a try!

First time going to Archie’s and it did not disappoint. Chef Alex really puts on a delicious menu. We were lucky enough to go before the holiday so it wasn’t super crowded. Chef Alex even came by to check on us and ensure we were having a wonderful time. We highly recommend Archie’s for excellent service and the most delicious food outside of New York City. We went for brunch and it was amazing! I got the shrimp omelet and also tried the sour cream pancakes. The shrimp omelet was perfection! Sour cream pancakes were fluffy, with a bit of a chewiness. Also had virgin bloody mary’s — they were very good! A touch of horseradish, nicely balanced, not too much heat. I’d love to come back and see what they do for dinner.

Everything we ordered was delicious: Belgian Waffles, Eggs Hollandaise and Onion Rings. My espresso martini was also great. The standout was the Hollandaise, which was probably the best I've ever had.

Delicious Brunch! Wanted to come here for a while now and finally made it, totally worth it! awesome atmosphere. Outstanding service staff was attentive and friendly. they close after brunch and reopen for dinner. Definitely coming back specially in warmer days to sit outside.

Must try! I was amazed by the service of Mame and Emmett. Great food selection by the famous chef Alex. I devour lobster roll and deviled eggs with bacon. Cod fish sandwich was mouth watering.

I live for mimosa and coffee on any given Sunday and I found my nirvana at Archie’s Tap and Table. Tucked into what seems to be a garage, I was happy to stumble upon this unassuming local restaurant with good vibes and great hospitality. The mushroom omelette melted in my mouth and the sourdough pancake knocked all the tastebuds out of the park. The syrup was divine. I loved how at home I felt and leaving with a full belly was the perfect start to my football Sunday. I wholeheartedly recommend this place if you’re into brunch like I am. My only recommendation if for the chef to add more vegan/ vegetarian options.

Came here to celebrate a friends birthday and the vibes were great. Small place which made it 10x more homey. Kudos to our server who was the hostess, server, bartender and food runner rolled into one; even when he was busy attending all the tables he never forgot to check on us. Now to the food not pictured were the shishito peppers and buffalo cauliflower which were excellent. Everyone was beyond happy with their food selection. The menu has a little bit of everything to even please the most pickiest of the food eaters out there. Definitely will recommend! Looking forward to coming back and trying brunch!

Archies's has both indoor and outdoors seating. We had lunch here but this place also has brunch items. The food here is good. I had the spicy chicken sandwich which comes with delicious fries. The sandwich is huge, making it a bit of a mess to eat. It comes with two pieces of fried chicken. Their freshly squeezed orange juice is delicious but expensive. Overall, a great option if you are in the area.

Archie's is a quaint spot in City Island that I decided to try recently- I love the presentation of their dishes. Meals are tasty and all their ingredients taste intentionally fresh! One sweet detail is that the chef comes out to say hello to the customers and to ensure their are having a good time. I have enjoyed a variety of their dishes as well as their signature cocktails. They are all delicious! You can enjoy lunch or dinner on a regular day or try their brunch options. The space has a casual feel and it invites for good conversation among friends and family! It is definitely a place you should check.

Recently had lunch at Archie's. We chose it because the menu looked creative, and stood out from the rest of City Island which seems to be fried seafood. We shared the Blistered Shishito Peppers, followed by Chicken Lemongrass Dumplings and Watercress & Radicchio w/fried eggs. Food was excellent & prompt, service was very nice, would highly recommend.

Such a cute and cozy spot. The restaurant is in a converted garage and it's such a nice space. Industrial, rustic and modern all at the same time. Someone definitely paid attention to detail and it shows in the lighting fixtures, back splash and seating. On to the food, huevos rancheros were so good. Eggs were scrambled to perfection, avocado was fresh and the beans, hot sauce and tortilla made such a great combo. I asked for my steak to be medium and it was a little bit tough but everyone else was so good I'm not tripping about it. Staff were super friendly and attentive.

This place was amazing! Fresh and delicious food, creative mix of ingredients and super diverse menu. The chicken lemon grass dumplings are fire and the house watercress addiction salad is ...chef's kiss! The environment is casual, beachy style mixed with laid back European pub. Cute place - met my cousins for brunch. I had the huevos rancheros - very good flavors. The only disappointment was the ribeye steak...it wasn't a ribeye I'm used to and quite frankly thought it was a different cut. Other orders at the table were the poached eggs & chicken biscuit. Someone next to me ordered fish that looked delicious - had no idea at brunch that the entire menu is available. Service was excellent.

Brunch!! This is the place to be, especially on a warm sunny day. Outdoor seating to people watch and in the winter there are HEATERS- also they have seating indoor. Been coming here since 2017 and the service and experience is constant. Attentive and solid food options keeps us loyal- Mom and I come here and love it. She likes the shrimp omelette and I'm a fan of the chicken and waffles and def the French toast! Every time I'm in town Archie's is on the list for brunch !! See you soon !

First time at Archie's tap and table . Cute and cozy . Got the Huevos rancheros- one of the best I have had so far. Our amazing server Fatou gave us five star service . She made us feel welcome and at home . Hospitality at its best hands down. Will def be back and try the best chicken and waffles for brunch and the Butter-Basted Dry Aged Ribeye with roasted fingerling potatoes, and mushrooms that Fatou was raving about .

We went for an early brunch, and there was plenty of room, but by the time we left the place was packed.

I wish I took pictures but I was focused on the company I was with, the good food and drinks. I was invited here by a couple of friends to celebrate their union of love. We had a buffet style serving of various items on the menu from eggs Benedict, bacon, waffles, French toast, chicken, pastelon. We had champagne and ordered several others on the menu. This little gem just past the entrance to city island is a nice surprise and great place to have breakfast, brunch or lunch. I have already returned. On both occasions the service was amazing. When I say this is a gem, it truly is. Comfort, sea life (view & vicinity) and modern soul flare vibes. Adore.

Ayooooo fr fr this is one of those places that'll bar none...the BEST place I've been to in a long damn time. They literally nail everything. When have you been to a place where you're asking them for more of the pickled green tomato garnish for the Bloody Mary? It's a non descript resto located in the bottom of a residential home. But inside they're making real magic happen. Fast friendly service. The shrimp avocado omelette was excellent. 5 large shrimp w a ton of flavor, fluffy omelette and nice sauce to compliment the flavor. Fries are addictive. The radicchio and watercress salad was sublime. Dressing was perfect accompaniment the hazelnuts tomatoes and olives throughout were like finding something new in every bite. Fried green tomatoes to start were tasty crispy and juicy. The dessert of chocolate chip cookie with a bourbon cream glaze. Was decadent transcendent and would make please even people who don't like sweets. It's made fresh and comes out hot and gooey. Who is this chef and why is this place not getting the nyt review? Can't wait to go back and eat more. They have tons of specials daily. This is a must!!

Stumbled on this quaint spot thanks to a good friend looking for any open restaurant during the Pandemic. The owner was about to close for the night but kept his doors open for our group and whipped together some delicious food including this Detroit Style Pizza with burrata that i never knew i needed in my life. It stuck with me how good the food was but how intimate the setting was as well as the awesome owner who sat and chatted with us about Owning a restaurant during the Pandemic. That day and his kindness sat with me so i came back another day and realized this place will be my Cheers. Now I've been here a number of times with friends and family, it's become my Go to spot. The presentation of the food makes it very easy to post on social media and the food itself makes your insides happy. The wonderful staff always knows me by name are attentive and engaging when they're not too busy. Too many items to Try but based off my plate and those of others who enjoyed the food: Detroit Style Pizza Spicy Chicken Sandwich Salmon Al's Corned Beef hash with eggs Chicken and Waffles (big portion) Great Wine selection I Recommend this place for anyone going to City island to have quality food in an intimate setting without the Loud and sometimes annoyingly crowded restaurants at the other end of the Island.

Hi Alex...you made our dinner las night and I wanted to let you know it was amazing! I had the Cobb salad, my daughter had the ramen soup, and my son had the pulled pork. They were all super tasty and flavorful. It was my birthday, but we all had been super busy so we didn't have time to plan much, but your delicious food made it a festive and special evening! With the many long-running, City Island restaurants (Lobster House, Artie's, The Original Crab Shanty, Sammy's Fish Box... wait, I can't keep going), I was nicely surprised with Archie's. I heard a lot of good stuff from my friend Pat, about Archie's- and glad I had an opportunity to share a light nosh with her. Archie's is definitely, a breath of fresh air in City Island and really stands out from the rest. Design is open, smooth and modern with neutral colors. Our server Seldy (my Dominican cousin, in spirit) was warm and attentive during our meal. I like what I saw but I was still unsure of what to expect. We'd gone for the Shareable plates of Yukon Potatoes with Avocado Crème Frâiche (real Avocado mind you- and not just some green stuff) with Salmon Roe- that was rich in taste. Sauce on the Saffron Shrimp, had a nice, light cream that didn't overpower the shrimp themselves. Shishito Peppers, were perfectly charred with a light sprinkle of Sea Salt that made them pop with taste. Everything my friend and I shared, was very tasty, but the star of the show, was my Warm Brownie Sundae, with Chocolate Ice Cream and Hazelnuts. Gracias so much, Pat!!! Archie's offered me instant gratification both visually and appetite wise. Ingredients used, were excellent and high quality. From the Salmon Roe, to the Avocado Cream down to my Dessert- all high-end, for City Island standards. I really like the creative flair that Archie's has gone for- coming away from the "ordinary" and definitely made it their mission, to be different- offering fashionable food.

Sometimes it's good to be an oddball...in a good way. Archie's is one of the only restaurants of its kind on City Island Avenue, in a sea of old school menu replicated restaurants. With that, Archie's has made itself a true diamond in the rough providing its own twist on many commonly known dishes. I would really like to keep this place all to myself and not inform the masses, as their space is relatively small in comparison to the surrounding mega restaurants. But by not giving them the props they deserve it wouldn't be fair to the business and in turn would make my Bronx culinary expedition basically null and void. So, here it is...Archie's Tap & Table, a place within the Bronx offering a seemingly more creative menu to entice the palate and fill your belly. Thank you Chef Alex for leaving the already well diverse cuisines of Manhattan and bringing your seasoned skills within our area and making City Island your home. I will gladly return to your restaurant to indulge in one or more of your tasty looking dishes.

I really enjoyed Archie's Tap and Table. We decided to try it out on a Sunday afternoon but was worried about City Island traffic. For those who aren't from the area, City Island is very busy during the summer. Traffic can sometimes be really horrible on a nice day. Surprisingly, no traffic! The inside decor is modern and clean. It's not very large so if you're a large party I would suggest reservations just in case. Even though we dined during brunch we decided not to have any drinks. Because the prices seemed a little steep - I wasn't not expecting City prices. For entrees, we ordered the chicken and waffle and shrimp omelette with avocado. The chicken was tender but could have used more seasoning. The shrimp omelette wasn't great because the shrimp wasn't seasoned at all. I think adding even a little bit of salt and pepper would have gone a long way. The good part about the omelette was it did have a decent amount of shrimp wrapped inside. The service was good and I would visit again. Hopefully, next visit they add some seasoning.

My friend and I randomly stumbled upon Archie's after doing a 3 and a half mile walk. It was our first time ever visiting. The ambiance of the place is what captured our attention but delicious food and fantastic waitress, Camelia is what we staid for. Every dish we had was filled with flavor and our waitress was super friendly, very attentive, and kind! Can't wait for us to go back soon ! My son never had chicken and waffles and Archie's certainly made an impression. We shared the sesame chicken wings as a starter and they were delicious. The double IPA was exactly what I wanted. The buttermilk chicken and waffles with slices of apple and pear on the side on a bed of radicchio was scrumptious. I ordered the crab mac and cheese and yes it was spot on. We shared and cleaned off our plates. Our server Carmela was not only attentive she was very friendly and professional. This was my 3rd visit and I'm sure I'll be back soon.

Such a neat little place along this street! The furnishings make the place extra welcoming, the staff is attentive and genuine, and the food was simple and delicious. I recommend stopping by Archie's if you're strolling around town and have no where in particular to eat. You'll find yourself surrounded by locals and visitors, and everyone is happy to be there.

So, this spot used to be Sugar & Spice but they've revamped the decor and added a bar; they still have the great food I've always enjoyed. Tonight we tried the Saffron Shrimp, Mac & Cheese Side, Charred Corn Salad, Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Waffles and the Peaky Toe Crab Mac & Cheese; everything was great. We ended the meal with the Warm Bread Pudding (the pic erased from my phone) and it was slamming! I've always liked this spot and even when they didn't offer alcohol we were able to BYOB and they provided the mixers but now they have artisinal brew on tap as well as wine. My girlfriend ordered me a Reisling that was pleasantly dry and crisp. I loved it. The former Bronx borough president was dining a few tables away and his party was loving the eats as well. This is a true neighborhood gem and although there are many long standing businesses on the island, Archie's is a breath of fresh air that offers a taste that is different from the rest in the heart of the Bronx.

Truly awesome - the Bronx needs more places like this, I'm glad I found it. The dining room is small, but it's very open so you never feel cramped. It kind of looks like a converted garage - concrete floors and walls and a garage-door style window. It was a nice day out so the door was up and tables were set out front. The decor has an industrial feel to it - silver chairs, subdued yellow booths, grey doors. There's a television over the bar which keeps the atmosphere casual. The menu has a good variety of new American dishes; what I thought was a nice touch is the beer they serve comes from the Gun Hill Brewery right here in the Bronx. My party and I started by sharing the saffron shrimp; they came on top of sliced cucumber and had a pickled jalapeño on top. It was super tasty - the shrimp had a crispy quality that was unexpected and the jalapeño added flavor without adding too much heat. For my main I had the pulled pork sandwich which came topped with American (or was it cheddar? It looked American so I'll go with that) cheese and onion rings on the side. The sandwich was slammin - full of flavor and very tasty; the onion rings didn't fall apart when you bit into them and were also very good. Servers were friendly, and overall I was super impressed - I was kind of expecting the food to be average but it totally exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be back to try their other dishes - a great place to go as an alternative to your typical City Island restaurant.

Omg!!! A hidden gem, aside from amazing yummy food, their service is amazing, the owner/chef Alex is welcoming and the menu choices are varied and will satisfy every palate. Visited Archie's yesterday with a couple of my friends. The decor was nice and on the small side. Had a decent selection of beers. Wasn't very busy. The menu was limited for a tap house. The only hamburger was a special and they were out. So I then ordered another special. It about 30-40 minutes to get our meals. Actually people who came in after us were served before us. My meal had an off taste and didn't sit well with me all day. Not sure if I would visit again.

Went here for dinner on Thursday. The greeter/server/waiter/bartender Benjamin was a pleasure! The service and menu didn't disappoint. Everything we ordered was delicious. Had a late lunch here with two friends after a visit to Untermeyer Garden in Yonkers. We didn't realize that they close from 3pm - 5pm on Saturdays; we got there around 2:30pm and they kindly accommodated us. We were warmly greeted by Carmela who patiently answered our questions about the menu and made excellent recommendations on beers and meals. She and Candria (I hope I remembered her name correctly) were so nice and engaging and made us feel very welcome. Even their boss (Alex?) came out to welcome us and we discovered that we lived in his former neighborhood in Queens. The soft shell crab special was delicious as was the salmon BLT wrap and the huevos rancheros. Next time will definitely try the pizza! Very good food and great, friendly service!

I've been to Archie's several times, and they never disappoint. On my most recent visit, I had their special baby clams in red coconut curry sauce. As clams should be, they were tender, sweet, succulent morsels of heaven. Now set that aside, because the red coconut curry sauce brought things so far beyond my expectations. Seriously, they can make a full soup with that amazing sauce. I woke up today still thinking about it. For my entree, I had the Archie burger with cheddar and fries. Always juicy and made perfectly. My husband had the crab Mac and cheese which was amazing. I live on City Island, and I really don't care to eat at any of the establishments here because there's just too much hype put into broiled and fried seafood. Archie's has saved me from settling for less. They always have great beer on tap and amazing specials. I'm just going to leave this here: We need more red coconut curry sauce on the menu. Thanks for another amazing meal!

I went with my friend here on a Friday night. This place is so delicious. The crab Mac and cheese and the Pizza were incredible! Both were enough for two people! They have wine/beers. Maintained social distance and was clean. The star of the visit was Julian, he was so amazing. Personable, friendly, knowledgeable, patient, funny. He made the visit for me and my friend so worth it! Julian accommodated a request for my friend and it was beyond thoughtful and kind. He is a star! Please visit this lovely place! You will not be disappointed. I can't wait to go again soon.

We have been coming to Archie's for several years now (Since it was known as Sugar & Spice) and this place never disappoints. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu including his fresh, organic, seasonal salads, seafood ( crab and shrimp) and meats. The chef has a regular menu but what I absolutely love are his specials which always amaze me. He recently had a Dominican lasagna (patacon) added which was absolutely delicious. Didn't expect to see that on the menu and it was a must have! Sunday's are always great at Archie's!

The food here is wonderful, I had quite a few items off their menu, but Baby Kale Salads is especially great in my opinion. All of the staff are extremely welcoming - you really feel welcome and taken care of. Glad to see a place like this in this area.

Must try! I was amazed by the service of Mame and Emmett. Great food selection by the famous chef Alex. I devour lobster roll and deviled eggs with bacon. Cod fish sandwich was mouth watering.

Menu is crave food! Hours of operation suck. I'm sorry to say. They are unpredictable and open up when they want and advertise different hours than what is real. They are too unpredictably random.

Update! Archie's is better than ever. The Detroit style pizza is a great addition to the already diverse menu. They now have a full bar, awesome bartender and very well crafted drinks.
