If your goal is to see the Aurora Borealis, be aware that the Arctic Train can be a "hit or miss" experience. And unfortunately, it was a miss for us. While the train itself is fine, the fixed route makes a sighting unlikely unless conditions are perfect.
The staff were pleasant, but they functioned more as stewards than guides. Upon arriving at Katerat Station, we were ushered to the bonfire and hut without any mention of the sky or weather conditions. A bit of transparency and clear communication about the low visibility would have gone a long way.
Considering the price, the train isn't worth it. But if you still want to try your luck with the train, do yourself a favor and check the weather forecast before purchasing tickets.
