Set to launch in autumn 2025, this dazzling new electric train service through Norway promises super comfy interiors made from natural materials, along with an exercise room and an observatory on each of its two trains. It’s described as an environmentally-friendly way to explore the landscape, combining the inherent sustainability of train travel with lower-emission electric power. Over six days, the journey will start in Bergen, run southeast through Oslo, then turn north to finish in Trondheim, offering views of drop-dead gorgeous mountains, serene lakes and more. If in Narvik, this should be on your list. It's an easy activity showcasing the natural beauty of near by places. The conductor is as friendly as one can get, warm beverages are included throughout the journey.

We was on Ms Trollfjord and booked this trip. On entering the train right side the best side is left side for the best views. On the return journey they ask people to swap seats so everyone had good view. Toilet on board and coffee machine and a lovely cinnamon bun 😋

Took the Arctic Train, a relaxing and scenic ride through beautiful snowy landscapes. A unique and enjoyable experience, especially in winter.

If your goal is to see the Aurora Borealis, be aware that the Arctic Train can be a "hit or miss" experience. And unfortunately, it was a miss for us. While the train itself is fine, the fixed route makes a sighting unlikely unless conditions are perfect. The staff were pleasant, but they functioned more as stewards than guides. Upon arriving at Katerat Station, we were ushered to the bonfire and hut without any mention of the sky or weather conditions. A bit of transparency and clear communication about the low visibility would have gone a long way. Considering the price, the train isn't worth it. But if you still want to try your luck with the train, do yourself a favor and check the weather forecast before purchasing tickets.

Do not recommend. Positives - The train itself was comfortable, Wi-Fi functioned well, and the staff was very good. Negatives - The "stunning" mountain views on the right side of the train were anything but stunning; trees and tunnels obscured most vistas. The fjord views on the left side of the train were good in spots, but again often obscured by tunnels, trees, and power lines. The photo stops on the ride up to the top were crowded, and we were rushed back onto the train at each one. Even the destination at the top lasted only 10 min and offered little. If you want a truly beautiful train ride, go to Flåm and don't waste your time on this one.

Excellent train ride stopping a couple of times on route to get out and take photos, making the most of the views. Staff keep you informed of how long the train stays at each stop, and passengers are asked to swap sides for the way back so everyone has the chance of a window seat on the side with the most views. You do need to buy tickets in advance as the train is very popular, especially if cruise ship is in.

Wonderful train ride as if you were touching the sky once you are at the top or final destination. Wonderful service but you have to sit on the left hand side to see all the highlights. Or when they ask you to switch rows it has to be during the daylight so that everybody can see the same.
