Google
We have eaten here several times. It is a neighborhood pizza place that also sells several Italian dishes and sandwiches. It has a bar area plus inside and outdoor sitting. The menu is only one page so the food is always Good and consistent.

Google
My uncle brought me here and said it is his favorite pizza place. We got a large ½ and ½ pizza of the Hot Honey and the 41 Special. The 41 Special was definitely the better half. We also got the cheesy bread which was shockingly the star of the show! I got the big peach sour beer on draft which was delicious. Our server wasn’t overly friendly, she talked to us just enough to get her job done. However, another server named Kristal was very friendly and came up and hugged my uncle. Overall, this is a really cute little pizza shop with some outdoor seating. It wouldn’t be my first choice, but there was nothing bad about it. It just didn’t impress.

Google
Server was fast and attentive. Atmosphere has amazing potential. Pizza and appetizer were disgusting. We had the baked feta and I honestly wish I would have taken a picture. Horrible presentation... looked like puke honestly. Both pizzas were super greasy and the ingredients slid right off the limp crust. This place has potential if the right chef were to come along. I will say the prices were reasonable. I can see why with the poor ingredients. If you're reading this review and you're craving a good pizza I would go to Davenports in Mountain Brook or Tortugas in Hoover.

Google
We had a group of guys come rolling in from Florida without reservations and they moved some tables around to get us seated and we are glad they did because the pizzas were awesome!!! Our waitress was Sue and she was amazing especially with it being a packed house. She was on top of everything and made sure we always had a cold beverage! Great place and service, will definitely be back.

Google
First time ordering and was pleasantly surprised. Took longer than expected but when I got there I understood why. They were very busy, and for good reason. They really have great pizza, we had the large Hula Hoedown. Very much worth the wait and the staff very friendly and work hard, kept me updated on the progress of my pizza. Definitely will be back

Walked into a full house, Pleasant atmosphere, and found some friends who we enjoyed sitting down with and having a nice visit. The servers were tennis and took care of our every need. We received our drinks and our food came shortly after we ordered. It was cooked to perfection, during our stay, we were checked out by the servers periodically to make sure we had everything we needed. It was very pleasant experience a highly recommend it, and we’ll come back again.

Google
Always great food, great service. Probably the best pizza I've had since I left New Jersey 15 years ago. Chicken Parm panini is solid too. Calzone also pretty good.

robin G.

Google
Gross. Feta chz app tasted like stouffers lasagna, looked like slop-it was ragu with feta crumbles in it. We got the Paco and 41. Super soggy in the center poor ingredients. Nothing fresh about it except the basil on top. Sausage tasted ruined and super greasy. The only saving grace was the vibe and had descent service .

Yelp
Always a good idea for pizza and salads. The people are always nice and friendly. The pizza is great with many toppings to choose from. It's one of our favorites!

Yelp
Service was great and very timely. I got the Area 41 burger, it was solid and no frills. The classic pepperoni pizza was huge and new york style. Very hot and fresh though- be careful! Ambiance is casual, great for family or friends

Yelp
Area 41 is always a great experience! Awesome staff and food! Our favorite pizza in Birmingham!

Yelp
Well here we are again, 2 weeks ago ate here. Got spaghetti these time, something different, well personally I will pass on it, to me it was very plain. That what I get for ordering it at a pizza place. They wait staff was not on their game has much has last time but drink was filled then they got busy. Like all at once. Still a good place to eat. We ate inside these time. Little tight but it a small restaurant.

Yelp
I wish this pizza place wasn't so far from my house, because I really enjoyed my lunch here today. I had the lunch special of pizza and salad combo. The pizza was a personal size, with one topping ($0.35/per extra topping) of BBQ chicken, and had the crispiest crust that I love. It was a thin crust but not so that it was mushy from the sauce and cheese. I ate up the entire pizza! The house salad was decent, fresh. Better than just a plain plate of lettuce. We had seat-yourself outside seating. There was a nice small heater hung above every table that provided just enough warmth for this sunny but slightly breezy November afternoon. Service was prompt and friendly. The spaghetti and meatballs that another customer ordered sure looked good that I might have to just make another trip to try it!

Yelp
the pizza not my fav. the service.... theres maybe 2 people that get it. The others u have to get their attention. I ordered food & had to pay separately for a sprite for my daughter b/c i forgot to get her a drink. So... i handed the bartender woman $20 & she put it in the register. I stood at the bar waiting & waiting for her to come over to me & had to ask her if i could have my change. She replied " oh, i thought that was for me" im thinking $20 for a sprite? I had already tipped her 20% on my to go order tab. Blew me away & made me feel humiliated in front of the other customers near me.

Yelp
This is by far my favorite restaurant in the area, but don't tell anyone.... I want it to stay quiet!!

Yelp
I ordered a small Brooklyn Hot Honey pizza, but it would've been more appropriately named if it was called Brooklyn Cold Honey. I ordered curbside delivery and the wait time was 35 minutes. I made it there in time and waited about 5 more minutes. The server was nice and helpful. I did not check the pizza until I got home and was too hungry to return it. I believe the pizza would've been good if it wasn't stone cold...

Yelp
Nothing special. Nice area of Birmingham suburb. Pizza was ok wouldn't brag about it . They have a pretty cool to go system. Pull up, tell them your name and they go inside and bring your order to you.

Yelp
Place was fantastic. This place is hidden, but the word is out. I got a sweet tea not long after I arrived. My friend had already claimed a table for us, which in Alabama on a football Saturday really helps. We got a pizza and split it. It looked and tasted great.. Their were multiple waitress that took care of my table, and it was much appreciated. Everyone I encountered had a positive attitude and that makes the dining experience more enjoyable. I will definitely recommend and be going again. Be aware not cheap, in the Mount Laurel area.

Yelp
Food is okay. Service is good. Great little neighborhood place. Pizzas there are just okay. Salads are good. I like the ambience and the neighborhood vibe. I recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
The French fries are now crinkle fries and that is very sad. Also the Feng shui of the restaurant stresses me out.
google avatar

Andrew H.

Yelp
Unbelievable place. Best pizza around especially the Spicy Meatball pizza! Small intimate environment that delivers great flavor! 10 out of 10 everytime!
google avatar

Kristi C.

Yelp
Looks like they have renovated to include a larger bar area! Fantastic as always... We had our standard of pepperoni pizza and caprese salad and they were both great. We ordered to go so when I got there the pizza was ready. Had to wait about 10 minutes for the caprese salad which seemed strange (maybe they just didn't see it on the order until I came in to pick it up) but both were good none the less.

Yelp
Surprised I haven't reviewed this place yet but we come here every few weeks and it's always consistently great. Our staple is the Caesar salad and action Jackson pizza with pepperoni sausage and onion. I've also had the Italian sandwich and the huge calzone. Can't go wrong with anything here. Located in the heart of Mt Laurel in the perfect quaint location. We love coming here

Dave V.

Yelp
My overall rating of Area 41 is a 4. I went there midday and ordered a pizza to go. My initial thought was that the price was too high. I ordered the large meat lovers (equivalent) pizza ("Meat Mo Pizza"). I am used to eating the Pizza Hut for about $15, but I thought I would try the Area 41 version for $25. I rated it a 4 because of the price. When I got it home, we decided the Area 41 pizza was worth the price. I will definitely eat it again. I will likely rate the next pizza a 5!!!

Yelp
Just moved to Chelsea 2022 and was in the vicinity of AREA 41 Pizza Company doing so shopping. We were hungry and decided to try them out. First time there and we ordered a couple of pizzas and WOW, the food was GREAT! Since then we have been back a few more times and have not been disappointed yet. The Pizza's are flavorful, Caesar Salad tasty, and the BLT is to die for, not to mention the Meatball Sandwich with fresh baked hoagie bun. Whenever we go there usually have lunch and order a Pizza to take home. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant too.

Camryn H.

Yelp
This is probably the best pizza place ive been to. the baked feta was SUPER yummy and flavorful. we got half Margherita half spicy meatball pizza (both were delicious) and a side of caesar salad. we got our food fairly quickly and the staff were all very nice! we sat outside on a rainy day but nevertheless the ambiance was amazing!
google avatar

Dennis P.

Yelp
It was ok first time eating here.... Menu to me is a little confusing.... we love a meaty pizza but Meat 3 was pretty thin on the meat and veggies.... sometimes I love to get a Veggie Pizza Loaded with Tomato's, Olives, Mushrooms, Jalapeños, onions, etc ... This is the first time we left Pizza and not take any home... Next time I will be more educated on the menu and terminology....
google avatar

Yelp
Eclectic little pizza joint...lots of loyal neighbors patronize the place. Pizza is just okay...there are better pizza places around.

Luis A.

Yelp
Would go for zero but can't. Placed a to go order at 5:43 it's 6:40 and I have been waiting to pick up and hour later 30 mins pass the time it was suppose to be ready I getting food Don't go to this place ever

Rm C.

Yelp
Huge disappointment to see this restaurant decline both in food quality and service. A once great place to eat with good food and service. Food is now poor quality- served cold / no flavor. The Great location / convenient enjoys captive audience with this local remote neighborhood that has kept this place in business but otherwise not worth a drive. Fortunately, several new restaurants ( Lil Donkey, Rodney Scott's BBQ and others ) are coming to area summer 2023... it will be a VERY welcome change. ... Hopefully Area 41 Pizza will be motivated to improve.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely worth the trip. One of the best if not the best pizza places in the Chelsea / Mount Laurel / Birmingham area. Everything we tried tasted fresh and great balance of flavors. A must try is the salted Carmel Brownie with ice cream. It's the perfect combination of salty and sweat. It's amazing how they conquered the crisp crunchy outside with the amazing almost "cookie dough" like center. They only make so many a day so make sure you order quick!

Yelp
Called and ordered a calzone for Area 41 Specialpickup. When I arrived during the lunch hour I surprised to find out the 'new' price for a calzone was $14.70. It was $8.00 last year and the internet 'menu' still shows it at $11.00. It was a little different ... there was a lot more dough/crust. Oh well it is now the highest priced calzone/Stromboli in the area and considering others are still priced in the $8 - $10 range I'll drive the mile or two.

John S.

Yelp
Always a great time and amazing food. Best pizza in Birmingham! Their cheese bread melts in your mouth.

Yelp
We went at 5:30 Friday evening 3/31 to celebrate my birthday w/ 5 people. Luckily got a table in the middle inside. (Didn't realize it was the invisible table!). We ordered 3 pizzas and a calzone. They were very busy serving the outside line to go orders! After 2 hours, my girlfriend got up and asked for an update on our order. No comment. Her parents live an hour away and were with us. The waitress never looked our way and I had to flag down any waitresses to come help w/ a refill or update. After 3 hours, we asked again and she came over and said it would be about 15 minutes. I realized later that meant she never put in our order! That's how long it takes to make from scratch! Everyone in the restaurant was served after we were seated and ordered and 100 not kidding to go orders were served after we placed our order. I blew through disappointed at 2 hours and at 3, I asked for a manager. No Manager!! Then I asked for the most senior waitress. She came over and was helpful as we were leaving. She made it very clear to me. "Do not ever come here Friday evenings! We operate a to go line with hundreds of orders!. " Might be a good place for Saturday or Sunday at 3 in the afternoon, but take the employees advice and don't go inside and expect food in the evenings!!!!!!!! Worst service I think I've ever experienced in a restaurant as an adult. JP

Yelp
We tried this place several times over the years, wanting to support a local business. The pizza is just ok, but for the price I can't really justify coming here. We never had a great experience with customer service there, and it's a crapshoot whether your pizza will be hot when it arrives at your table. Now the restaurant charges a $2.50 per person sharing fee. Please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. It's not worth it to overpay for subpar service and mediocre pizza with hidden fees.

Yelp
This is a great out of the way pizza place. Everything on the menu is superb. Pizza crust is just right and they have just about any topping you could want. Nice bar area, too.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm leaving two stars because I ordered a small margarita pizza and the baked feta when I was 35 minutes away. The lady on the phone took my name and said it'll be ready in 25 minutes. So I arrive and my order wasn't ready, the girls at the register were overwhelmed and had no idea that I called and placed an order. They said, "we're so sorry, we'll place the order on the fly and it'll be ready in 10 minutes". So I wait the 10 minutes. I finally get my pizza and the feta is no where to be found. The cook comes to the front and tells the girls that he only heard the pizza order. So I just tell them not to worry about the feta (after I paid and tipped) and left. They get the two stars because the pizza was actually amazing, but the high school girls working the front were just overwhelmed.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood hangout atmosphere. Pizza is good, although sometimes, the crust could be crispier. The pasta, salads and subs are great. Be sure to have a Screwball cocktail before you leave.

Yelp
Area 41 is a great little pizza and pasta restaurant tucked away in Mt. Laurel. They have fabulous NY style pizza with a wide array of toppings to choose from (I recommend ordering the meatballs as a topping). They also have a number of specialty pizzas, such as the Pizza Sacile (salami, arugula, crushed red pepper-all topped with an over easy egg) or the Blonde Ambition, which is their take on a typical "white" pizza (ricotta used in place on a tomato sauce). If you're in the area and looking for a good happy hour, they have a very good one...complete with a large selection of wine, craft beer (both draft and can), and craft cocktails. I would definitely swing by and enjoy some great pizza and a cold drink if you're ever in the area!
google avatar

Tara B.

Yelp
First time visit but definitely will not be our last. Salads were delicious as were the 2 pizzas we tried. Great selection of drafts for a small bar. Weather was nice tonight and many people enjoyed the outdoor dining. I can absolutely imagine going back enjoying a drink at the bar before being seated or before grabbing a pie to go. Service was great and quick. The only downside is the size, I love the small quaint space it certainly adds to the atmosphere, but when its colder out and the outdoor dining is not an option I imagine there is a more significant wait without a lot of space to wait.
google avatar

Richard R.

Yelp
Great pizza place with a nice sized selection. We had the Greek salad and white pizza. Just wish we could have gonna in and sit a spell to throughly enjoy the ambience.

Yelp
Not long ago, I received a little feedback about whether the 41 was still open since there weren't many current reviews out there! Well ... I have an update! My star rating hasn't changed in two years, but their menu has :-) I still LOVE the arugula salad with grilled chicken, but now I love the Antipasta plate ($11) and the fried mushrooms ($7.50) to start with. Lately I have been getting the Blonde Ambition Pizza (a small for $12.75 and it's enough to share with a friend!). Patrick makes some AMAZING Mushroom Soup - and if you check out FB and see that it's on the menu - RUN THERE!! I like his Tomato Basil too! And you can get a cup of the soup with a house or Caesar salad for $7.50. It's A MEAL DEAL, for sure! The Simple Spaghetti is still on the menu and it's still as amazing as it was when the Four One opened and quite a steal at $11. And ... Javiar's Shrimp Diablo ($13.25) is one of the best things on the menu. Still one of my faves for a BURGER! It's big and always cooked to perfection (I like mine med to med/rare) and they are super attentive to the fact that Mr SS9 doesn't want a pickle anywhere in sight. The fries are AMAZING - The best fries ever. (I might have had fries once with pizza ... maybe once. Don't judge!) Granted, if you are there on a Thursday or Friday night, IT WILL BE BUSY. Unfortunately, this is a small town restaurant, and it's hard to hire a ton of people just to work one night a week. Take your time, relax, have a beer or two and chill.
google avatar

Krystal G.

Yelp
First time here was a pretty good experience. I got the lunch meatball sub with a side salad. I was really pleased with the size of both for the price, if I remember correctly it was under $8 bucks. My friend got the single slice lunch pizza which was $4 she said she liked hers too. They also had a good selection of draft beers. I'll definitely be back to taste other items on the menu.
google avatar

David R.

Yelp
Truly quiet and quaint for a lunch. Pizza!!! Ha! Come here once a month for the dogs grooming at Lucky Dog. =)

Yelp
Set your GPS to Birmingham because it won't pick up the Mt. Laurel address. The location seems like it's in the middle of nowhere since after you turn off of Hwy 280, you drive into the middle of a pleasant nowhere for 3-4 miles. So don't worry, you're not lost. Parking looks limited but there always seems to an open spot. The atmosphere is easily five stars. This is probably the nicest pizza restaurant decor I've seen. Even though the interior is so cramped, it seems to have the right amount of intimacy. The waiters were friendly, polite, and had me in and out the door in no time. The sides of marinara sauce here were good. The 3-star rating was as a result of the pizza flavors I chose. The blonde ambition is white pizza with roasted garlic herbed ricotta mozzarella and fresh basil. It looks like a very plain cheese pizza and tastes like a plain cheese pizza but remarkably fresh. I almost thought they forgot the condiments. The sacile is the selling point with everything you'd find on a margherita pizza but topped with salami, over easy egg with crushed red pepper and argula. It was delicious! However, the pizza overall is was thin, floppy, and soggy to the extent that I couldn't lift the actual pizza itself without everything falling off and creating a huge mess. I felt like a little toddler playing with food pieces on my baby table and that made eating aggravating. I'd still come back solely based off the atmosphere and the beautiful outdoor seating. Every pizza I saw in this restaurant at each table was almost food art. However, I wish the pizza did a little better! Refrigerator Test: floppy but refreshingly tasty!
google avatar

Tara L.

Yelp
Food can be hit and miss. When it's good, it's great, but have had a few issues with it being too greasy lately. Definitely better than most pizza joints.

Joseph W.

Yelp
This place has the worst service of any restaurant I have been to in a long time. We have tried this place 3 times due to working in a job up the street and not having any other options nearby. All three times the servers have started at our table with no drinks and turned around and walked the other direction. It's a shame because the food is not bad, but service like this will put a restaurant under in no time. I requested to speak to a manager and was told she was not in, asked for contact information and was told I could leave mine. If the owner of this establishment can give me a way to contact them I would like to discuss this further.

Yelp
I was hoping for a great pizza and unfortunately they did not deliver. I have to say that I have been here before but it's been a while. I have had their calzone before. The crust was a little bit too chewy but the taste was there. I've also had the pizza Sacile which was delicious and the over easy eggs were perfect. But both of those were a while back. This time I got one to go and was really disappointed when I got home. This one was called the blonde ambition and even though the cheeses and garlic tasted good together I expected more when they said basil. It was only a sprinkling of basil. Not enough to really add any taste. If you say it has basil I expect more than this had (see picture). They should really put whole or half leaves of it on the pizza to add to allow you to taste it. I was let down by the pizza which is really disappointing to me because I have really put this place on a pedestal in the past and told people how good it was. I will say that the location is a little out-of-the-way but Mount Laurel is such a beautiful town that it is worth the visit. The establishment is not very large but it is quaint and welcoming. Presentation of the pizzas when you eat there it's great. They have some outside tables and seating which is great during summer evenings. Pets are welcome in the outside area. Hopefully someone else's visit will render better pizza than mine tonight. They have a good menu and do you have some decent sandwiches from what I've heard. Never had the burger but judging from another review I'm not sure I would want to try it in fear of wasting a visit. They have a good beer menu and I'm sure you can find something that you enjoy drinking. I just hope that this place is not on a down swing because I have enjoyed it in the past. I will return again and hope for a better experience but I cannot justify more than three stars unless The next time is much better. Right now I can only say if you are passing by to try it. I wouldn't go way out of your way.

Yelp
Love their pizza! Great cute shop in Mt. Laurel which is such a quaint City! Highly recommend eating here!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Poor management. Waited 45 minutes on the waiting list with 3 children. Three groups that walked up and were seated ahead of us. The "list" was never checked. They are only in business because there are so few choices.
google avatar

Steven E.

Yelp
Good pizza place. Nice sauce and garlic bread appetizers. Kids like the thin crust. Salads are ok but I hate salad anyway. My wife likes them. Nice atmosphere. If you live in the area you probably eat here regularly. If you don't, come out and give it a try, it's worth the drive. It can be crowded and noisy especially weekends. I tend to stay away during these times. It's a small intimate family owned place. Very good draft beer selections, although a little pricey. Small bar. Best busy and service can suffer. Is it Post Office Pies or Davenports, no, but it's good.

Bob E.

Yelp
Becoming if not already my favorite pizza in Bham. Has gotten better every time we go. More outside seating available now too and good draft beer selection.
google avatar

Stan P.

Yelp
Great food, great service. I live downtown Birmingham and I make the drive. I always have fun. Great beer selection. If you are cyclist, start from there and do the Vandiver 41 and 43 loop and you have a 30 mile ride and a place to replace those calories you have burned.
google avatar

Helen H.

Yelp
This place is quite a drive up Highway 280 in Mt. Laurel, but it's totally worth it. The crust is perfect - hand-tossed and great consistency. Last time I was there I had a great salad, pizza, and the chocolate lava dessert. Everything was wonderful! It's also one of the only places in Birmingham that I've seen Flying Dog Pale Ale on draft. Me likey!

Yelp
Had a late dinner here Saturday night. The couple we brought with us was wondering if we really were going to a restaurant after driving many miles in the dark down highway 41, but we assured them there was food at the end of this journey. We wanted to try the Irish Pub but they had some very loud music playing, very few customers, and they stop serving food at 9pm (on a Saturday?). So we opted for Area 41. They were still very crowded so we ended up at a table smack in the middle of the restaurant (which my husband hates). It is a family-style restaurant. It is not a great place to go if you want privacy. It took a LONG time for someone to acknowledge our table. I had to ask the host for some assistance. It did not start well. Once our waitress made it over, she was very nice. Our food did not take too long. We ordered the baked feta and some garlic cheese bread for appetizers. Loved the garlic cheese bread and their dipping sauce. The baked feta was good, but I have had better. It was feta and pizza sauce combined with very crunchy crostini-style bread. We ordered beer for the guys and wine for the girls plus 2 small pizzas. One, Action Jackson - pepperoni, Italian sausage, onions and the other, 41 special- Italian sausage, sliced tomatoes, roasted garlic, goat cheese. Both were excellent, tasted fresh, and were piping hot! Would give this place another go!

Yelp
Visited during Mt Laurel Festival 2016. Staff was super nice and the food was excellent. Great little hole in the wall joint for family food and fun.
