Arenberg

"Book a table by the bay windows of the orangery or on the lovely terrace overlooking the garden. Such are just a few of the appeals of this restaurant, whose cuisine features a masterful repertory with a new take on traditional recipes. The wine list is worthy of special mention, as is the faultless service and the mouthwatering chocolate desserts." - Michelin Inspector

Just a note, this is a high-end restaurant and for the price you’re paying you’re expected a certain quality. The good: Nice outdoor garden and restaurant interior. The food and drinks (I had the non alcoholic juice menu, and my other companions did the wine menu) were very tasty and unique. The waiters were very friendly and accommodating. The not so good: It was an all you can drink menu, but we had to call the waiters over multiple times to refill our glasses. For the price you pay, that is something you should not have to do. We were not informed that the starter drinks were not included in the main course price. We were having a good time and we might have been a bit loud at times, and the owner told us to be quiet and the atmosphere went bad right away. A note to all this is that the table behind us was also pretty loud. Verdict: This is a high-end restaurant and we paid around €200 per person for a 5 course meal with “drink as much as you can” wine and juice menu. I do believe the food lived up to the hype, the service was really good, but the were slow on filling up our drinks. To be told off that you’re too loud was a bit off putting and the mood of the table went down quite a bit after that. The price is fair, but putting the service into the equation, I only give this restaurant three stars. This is a one time occasion and I don’t think we will come again.

In my honest opinion, Arenberg is not a Michelin Star restaurant. Maybe a few years ago. Despite its popularity, I wasn’t impressed and disappointed with the entire experience, including the emphasis on the food and drinks they served. I believe a Michelin-earned restaurant is not solely for the quality of the cooking; the restaurants are nothing without their people who play parts in creating the entire experience of a Michelin. Therefore, the arrogant attitude with no effort to communicate each served dish explaining the context and/or origin of ingredients was truly rude to my family, who did not understand any Flemish. Also, need to ask for refills of water constantly and/or wine was just… We came with six people and ordered a five-course menu (€114 per person), matching wines and water (€46 per person) with the addition of a glass of champagne (per person) and coffees (with desserts). In total, we paid €1300 that evening.

Been In (Leuven, Belgium)for a while, but did not know about this amazing restaurant, the food was spectacular, the service was great, friendly staff, and the owner was one great host. Nice location, have their own parking area, very cozy. When you think you are done after the desert, they still bring a bit more to show their appreciation for you as a costumer. NO DOUBT, one of the best restaurants in Belgium.. highly recommended

The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about everything they have to offer and more. The owners are friendly loving people who go out of their way to make your experience the best possible. The food was of outstanding quality, seasonal and locally sourced from only the best. Their wine and drinks selection is expansive. I would whole heartedly suggest this restaurant for your next gastronomic adventure.

Nice gastronomic restaurant in Heverlee, excellent food, very good products. Set menu, so not much choices. Nice setting with a well written script. Service is great and the sommelier has a good knowledge, the Montpulciano wine was great. Great garden as well.

Very tasteful food and great service in a relaxing, while pleasantly lively atmosphere! We singled out the tartar from the appetisers, the delicious crustacean broth (in the perfect temperature) and dumpling, the mashed potatoes and the lamb. A meticulously selected, informative and generous wine service by Tom, which perfectly justified the meaning of ‘pairing’!

Yelp
Nice restaurant. +++++Reasonable price and the fishes are really good. So fresh herring and the cod was cooked to a tee. +/-Only offer menus. Seems impossible to order separately but not sure about that. And the garden only available when eating starters. For the main dish you have to move indoor. -----But a very big problem is the indoor room is too crowded. Tables are close to each other. It makes us very uncomfortable that the table near us were full of noisy makers. I even downloaded a noise test app. The result is average 60.7dB and maximum 70.4dB on my table. My friend said "sounds like a vegetable market ". So maybe it's necessary to place less table in such a room.
