Aria Kabab

I used to come here for tasty Afghani food, as well as pizza and burgers; several years ago I remember the food being fresh and delicious. Remembering these very old experiences, I came back but found out that the old management moved out to Albany and this restaurant now has new management. Unfortunately, the experience here is now completely different. We came about an hour before close time and were told that the chef already left so the only thing available is pizza (we were told intially that some other items are also available but as we inquired further they were not able to prepare any of the requested items. They didn't even have hummus and bread). It was pretty disappointing since we drove about thirty minutes to get there, expecting to be able to pick at least a few items they claimed to serve on their menu. We ordered three slices of the chicken pizza. The worker heated up the slices and then dropped one of them on the floor. The pizza looked like it had been out for quite some time; it was so hard that the worker struggled to cut them into separate slices. It was extremely salty and not fresh. To add insult to injury, they charged over 4 dollars for each chicken slice. The restaurant's new management is totally unprofessional and either does not respect customers or is just too incompetent to fulfill the basic needs of customers; I cannot think of any other explanation for the terrible service and poor quality. It is such a shame that what was once a great restaurant with such tasty food is not even a shell of its old self due to the new management. We were given some sweets on the house before we left but unfortunately that doesn't make up for the terrible experiences we have had with the new management.

Twice in a month we ordered pizza, very salty, dough was very fat or very hard from places. It definitely isn’t how it used to be. Even the rice and chicken not tasty at all!! Very very disappointing.

One of the best Afghan kabab restaurants i’ve been too. It’s literally a hole in the wall! The kabab’s were fresh tender and juicy. The rice especially is very delicious and flavorfull. Along with the oven made roghani bread. Affordable prices for the amount. Do come and try with friends and family. Highly recommend it!

Just moved to the area recently and this was my first meal! The food was good and the staff was very friendly.

The most disgusting kabobs I have ever eaten, I don’t know if it was old or what. The outside texture is hard and rubbery it felt like it was either over cooked or fried after being grilled. The rice was in big clumps. I will never eat here again or recommend it to anyone not worth the money

The best restaurant ever. I just tried their menu today and was impressed with the variety and quality due to the very new management. I can see the difference in quailty and quantity. The pizza and cheese steak are scrumptious!!!! 10/10 recommend.

I had the food today (lamb chops + mixed gyro) and it was very fresh and delicious. Very generous portions too. I highly recommend this restaurant. Service and quality are A+

Just had the food from this restaurant earlier today and I was very impressed with the portions and quality of the meal. My family also mentioned the flavor and meat of the tikkas & koftas were tender and flavorful. At pickup, I was told that new management had taken over and that the meat is certified zabiha halal.

I love the food there they have delicious burgers, chicken, sandwiches, nuggets, rice salad, kebabs, gyros everything is so delicious and it's amazing and it's fresh and the people are so nice and I love going there all the time and I will continue on going there all the time and be a loyal customer they are really, really nice

I dont know about the recent reviews, but when I lived there, Aria Kabab was my go-to spot. The food and service were amazing, with tender chicken kabab and soft lambs, I knew I would be getting enough food whenever I decided to go for a bite.

The buffalo chicken pizza and the lamb chops platter are really good. Highly recommend.

Today is 8/3/24 I was here at 2.00 fr pick up order wich I gave to Fasil who take care order . Fasil did v good job on my order food was v good frash I order more then $100.00 Well done job fasil really we love u food & service Thnx Anjum FM.

I Waited 20+ minutes outside despite calling 15 mins in advance like I usually always do before picking up food at restaurants. What made it worse was the door was locked from the inside but there were workers inside cooking food and they knew the customers were outside. All I ordered was chicken rice. Not a crazy amount of food but waited close to 40 minutes in the cold dark. I actually really liked the rice and bread but the chicken was too dry and flavorless. And the cost was very high it was 13 dollars for just one chicken rice. They almost always are about 7 or 8 at the halal carts. There is a Dad and Son halal cart close to here 2 mins away near Walgreens that sells food for good prices and taste great too. The only reason I didn't go there was because I wanted to see if paying more meant better experience but I was wrong......

Food was incredible. I took a large group and they had it on a table buffet style for when I got there. Genuinely great service and even better people.

I have been going to Aria Kabab (both locations) for years! I normally get 1 chicken & beef Kofta, but I have tried their Tikka, pizza, sandwiches and I've never been disappointed. They have huge portions, so it normally lasts me for 2 meals. The service is always great, which is such an important thing for me! The place is more on the smaller side, but is very clean. I have referred many friends and family there, and will continue to do so in the future!

Ordered through ubereats, the food arrived on time and it looked good, but the meat's overly tenderized and seasoned, and the texture was mushy. I got beef and lamb tikka. Also, I noticed that the price on ubereats is higher than what's advertised at their store (Based on a photo of the menu posted 13 days ago by another yelper). Instead of 10.99 I was charged 12.99 for the same dish. Not to mention ubereats now charges a 'service charge' on top of your order, tax and delivery charge (and your optional tip for the courier). The price difference is huge, but just be aware if you decide to order on ubereats.

good food at a great price! this is one of the only fast food afgani food places around and this place did not disappoint. Ordered the extremely big family combo and was very satisfied with the meal. rice and meat were all a little dry and this stuff had to be slathered in white sauce and hot sauce.....just much like your typical chicken and rice meal from the carts this place does the job! the service was definitely lacking as the person at the counter basically ignored me for a good 10 minutes while he was chilling and having a conversation but if you're in the mood for this type of food you can go the the location or call to ask for delivery. Would come back if I ever get a hankering and theres nothing better available

The food was okay and so was the service. The only thing that tipped me off was that the same guy that charges is the same one guy that serves the Samosas and scratches his head without gloves while then grabbing your plate and putting it in a bag for you. The presentation of the food was ehh but the flavor was decent so I won't go back but won't tell anyone else to not go because the food did its job.

I ordered the Chicken Kofta & Chicken Tikka and Beef Kofta & Beef Tikka. It was fulfilling meal served with brown rice, bread, and salad. The chicken items were juicy and flavorful, the beef items were very tender. I personally enjoyed the chicken combo more.

Fresh food, reasonable prices for a fast food spot. I got the chicken-lamb chops-beef kebab with rice platter. They also have chicken and veggie pizza which looked good. This place is better than most authentic Afghan restaurants with the same menu. The white and hot sauces were on point as well. The owner is very friendly. I give this place a high recommendation!

Absolutely great staff, great food. My best recommendation is the pizza. Won't find any pizza as good as this they have few flavors but the quality is great..quality over quantity !!!

Worst food experiences ever.. I bought chicken nuggets with French fries in Ramadan.. The chicken nuggets was chewy, sour and it was smelling so bad, I had to throw the whole food. Will never go back to that place again.

Terrible service and terrible staff. The people clearly cannot get orders right and then get defensive when they make a mistake. Make sure you list the number you want and get the receipt because they will try to overcharge for their untasty food.

Their rice is wonderful, and the most flavorful meat is the beef and chicken Tikka combinations. Their white sauce with their salad is amazing and their tangy green is so yummy as well. The best part is if you can't finish the whole portion, you cann take to work tomorrow along with the bread..yummy

If you're looking to satisfy your craving for kebabs, but also feel like being a cheapo, this is the place for you! For about 10 bucks (or less!), you can get a super hearty meal with any protein of your choice, or you can even mix it up. I got the lamb kebab and beef kofta platter ($10), which comes with a total of 2 skewers of meat, a lot of brown rice, and a salad on the side. The lamb was super tender and delicious, and the beef was just as delicious! The food was certainly plentiful and left me more than satisfied. Definitely got the most bang for my buck! The place is far from fancy, and is more like an Afghan fast food joint where they have a variety of options besides kebabs such as cheeseburgers, wings, fries, etc. There's also a small parking lot right in front of the restaurant (enough for 5-6 cars). CASH ONLY!

Best Afghan food in Queens hands down. Rice is very flavorful, chicken is juicy, and the lamb is so so tender it's unreal! Try their keema pizza it has minced meat and the slice is huge. Their buffalo chicken pizza is also great. Basically nothing bad to say here.

they have halal pizza!!! A must try! Not sure about the burgers as it's all frozen and look like it's just come out of a microwave. The kebabs are fresh and decent portion size. Only downfall is there service and seating arrangements are horrible! They don't believe in any customer service whatsoever. Also stay away from this place during prayer times as they will not serve you and will make you wait even if you placed your order ahead of time.

Ate here once because we were in the area. Wow, I wish this place was closer to my neighborhood. Wonderful food, fresh, delicious and fairly priced. The samosas are delicious. Stop in and try it, you won't be disappointed.

Extremely unprofessional. I placed phone order and confirmed a 10 minute pickup. I arrived on time and the place was locked as the guys decided to pray. I waited 15 minutes outside and when the place re opened I found out that the guy didn't even write down my order which was simply#9. Never heard of such childish unprofessionalism. Food is very good though above average for sure

I live near by and came to this place not worrying about the staff being friendly, even was expecting rude. All the reviews said it was good food bit bad service. I was looking for good food. I went inside and asked for the chicken tikka and was immediatly greeted very warmly by a Hispanic gentleman. The gentleman behind the counter said it would be about 7 minutes for my order. I overheard him tell someone else it was his 2nd day working their. When my food came out he even asked me how many white sauces and hot sauces I needed(my order was to go). THE FOOD- absolutely delicious..might even be a 5/5, but im stingy on giving out fives. I found a new spot.

They have the best shawarma I ever had in NYC their chicken and plain pizza are good too Definitely recommend this place if your looking for hand slaughter halal food.

No frills restaurant. Rice was soft, beef and lamb kofta was cooked and spiced just right. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone in the mood for Afghan food. Most of their menu options are ~$9.99, worth it.

I really really like this place. It has a lot going for it and is much better than its predecessor Mirage. It's just down the road from queens college and near plenty of street parking. The entire menu is top notch and fairly priced. The pizza is very good and always fresh. The homemade burger is spiced to perfection and is melt in your mouth tender. All the Kabobs are delicious too, especially the kofta kabob. The fish sandwich and lamb over rice are also very good. They also have the best green sauce I have ever had. Furthermore, they have a huge drink (non-alcoholic) selection including a frozen drink machine. Try the strawberry it's outstanding. The owner and his son are both awesome guys. They are so friendly and always a pleasure to talk with while I wait for my delicious take-out. They are both former tennis players, and as a huge fan myself, I always enjoy talking with them about that! All in all this place is probably the best restaurant in the neighborhood.

Great food. I love the chicken and lamb. There chicken shawarma is really good as well. The Afghani bread is so delicous and they make the meat fresh. I love their food, have been eating here since 2012, I highly recommend their food. Muhammed

Unfortunately our experience was awful last night. We waited for 45 min till the girl who doesn't understand a single word of English to bring the salad for our table before the meal (Imaging how long it'll take for the food while we were starving?) Finally, we decided to leave and ask her please charge for this water bottle and the snap drink cause we opened it she took my $5 and never returned the change or the drinks we paid for. This is not an ethical or a halal way of doing business.

we ordered 4 sets of beef tikka ($8 each) for pick up. we asked extra white sauce. order was ready on time and they gave extra extra sauce. food was fresh and very generous portions compared to other halal places where they charge almost double for less food.

Reviews looked great, but i was not impressed the food. Chicken was very dry. The rice was decent. 3 stars at most. Would not go again.

The kababs are really good there. Friendly staffs. Prices are reasonable and portions are good.

Aria kabab is a staple in kew gardens hills. It's location is perfect because it's right underneath the neighborhood mosque! Everything is halal and just delicious. They have afghan cuisine, your typical rice and kababs with meats according to your preference. They also serve some amazing sandwiches, burgers and a super delicious pizza. It is an extremely clean restaurant and they have added a customer restroom inside the restaurant as well. There are plenty of tables to sit but it's more of a casual sit in so if you're not looking to just hang out and eat, take out may be the way to go. Either way, it's a gem in the neighborhood and the staff is really very kind. Having halal food so close to home is always a blessing.

Delicious food! We ordered catering for a company dinner and the food was amazing! Everybody loved it. The only drawback they did not send any forks,knives or plates with the catering order. Thank you for your service!

I rarely write reviews, but I had to for the horrible service I received here. I mad an order over the phone and the total was supposed to be $42 but the guy said our total is $54. We asked him to explain and he just yelled and shouted over the phone and hung up on us twice. I then went recently, and the guy overcharge us by 2 dollars , even after tax was included. the food is great but I would rather go to Bakhtar where the service and food is better.

i ordered large cheese pizza it arrived an hour and 15 minutes later , it was room temperature . a very dry pizza. very little sauce and cheese , the quality similar to supermarket pizza . paid to much for this poor quality pizza.

The best plate you can get for your money, definitely not cheap. I eat at fancy restaurants all the time n this place beats all. I love there #10. Portions are so big you get more than you pay for

This place is a nice place to try out if you are craving some really delish BBQ pizza! The workers are great and the food is always prepared fast and fresh. Their BBQ wings are also a great option if you are by. This is definitely a small place with not the strongest aesthetic but the food really is satisfying!

I had another chicken tikka craving today so we ordered from Aria. Used grubhub against yelpers recommendation not to and everything worked out just fine. i think they probably worked out all the issues since that review. Its still yummy as ever and my son tried their chicken shawarma wrap this time. I dont know if this thing qualifies as a wrap. They need to invent a new word to describe this monsterously gigantic creation. My son can eat and eat and eat and he could not finish this wrap. That's a first! Well worth ordering if you are especially hungry and even good to eat on the go. It was assembled well and did not fall apart despite its size.

Their food is on point, but the people who work there are bunch of ignorant, uncivilized, primitive people. They are nice to some people they know, but for the rest of us they will behave as if they are doing us a favor, and we are wasting their time. People go out to eat for the taste, yes, but for the service as well, and the owner of this restaurant fails to understand that basic concept. The restaurant is listed on the GrubHub, but you will get yelled at if you ever make the mistake of ordering through GrubHub. They have different prices on different websites, and the price you actually pay at the store is always the most expensive one. Bottom line: A good place to enjoy good food as long as you don't mind being treated like an inmate. But for me, I will be on the hunt for an alternative.

Aria Kabob has been our go to spot for the past few years getting food from there at least twice per month. Every single dish that we get whether it's the pizza and the wings the cheeseburger the chapli kebab the lamb kebab or the chicken tikka hits the spot and is amazing. Great quality fresh meat can't ask for better than that!

4/15 Upping it up to 5 stars again. Food has been ON POINT. 11/1/14 Update: I had to change my review from 5 stars to 3. It seems like they are under new management. If that is true, that explains it. Yesterday, our order of cheeseburgers did NOT have cheese. My chicken hero was not on a hero, but on a burger bun. Also, I ended up throwing the entire "sandwich" out because the chicken wasn't cooked. Disgusting and a waste of money. Because of my prior positive experiences, I may have to give them another chance. I just need time to recover. --------------------------------------------------- Aria Kabab has become our new favorite takeout place. Originally we would always pick up food from Bakthar but then decided to try Aria one day. Best decision ever made. This place has been our Ramadan staple. We kept a menu and we always call in our orders in advance and then usually pick them up if we are out and about. They do deliver, so when we inquired about having food delivered to our house (we live about 30 blocks away) they were more than happy to, and did. We just needed to give them some extra time, which was completely fine. Some things that we have gotten that we love: - 8 ounce cheeseburger - Grilled chicken sandwich/hero - Rice and kabob platters - Buffalo chicken pizza - Philly cheesesteak - Chicken parm Overall, a great place to takeout. They are fast and food is delicious!

Afghani restaurants in New York tend to be very overpriced. At Aria Kabab, you can get authentic Afghani food without spending a lot of money. Typically at afghani restaurants you would spend $15 for a lamb tikka/chicken tikka combo but here you will not spend more than $10. The staff is very friendly, and the non-afghani dishes (e.g pizza and burgers) are very well prepared too. I would strongly recommend the buffalo chicken pizza.
