"In Old City, Ariana is a favorite for flavorful Afghan dinners (it’s an especially good option before a movie at the Ritz). Along with a number of kebabs, rice dishes are popular at this BYOB. Try the norange palow, a rosewater-scented combination of lamb, saffron rice, nuts, and orange peel." - Sarah Maiellano

Ariana Restaurant is a wonderful place to check out. The friendly staff and cozy atmosphere provide an authentic Afghani cultural experience. A wonderful place to grab some sambosa and hookah (my favorite), or BYOB and relax to a perfectly prepared chalow gulpea or lamb corma. Ariana has a good family feel and the owners and staff are great people! Stop by this gem and enjoy!

We've always had a great meal here, and we can usually walk in without a reservation. There are plenty of vegetarian options.

Very unique flavorful food. I did not know much about this regional cuisine. It is like northern Indian, only in that they have nice stews and a unique variant of kebabs. However, the food is NOT hot or spicy. Rather, you will find unexpected flavors, due to the use of rosewater, bitter orange, an other "silk road" flavors that are uniquely combined. A real authentic family-run restaurant with everything served with love.

I have been eating at Ariana’s for more than 15 years. It is the real deal when it comes to Mom and Pop home cooking. The service is excellent, the food is consistently delicious, the atmosphere is like eating in your living room, and the music makes you want to dance. It’s a great way to experience the people, food and culture of Afghanistan!!! Oh yes, remember to bring along a nice bottle of wine. It’s BYOB.

The dishes on their menu sound wonderful and delicious, I sat down expecting a full course meal, but what I got was a measly bowl of lamb ragu and a plate of rice. $17 for 30% meat and 70% rice? No thanks. Also, for some reason the baklava I ordered was wet and nasty...not much else to say. There's plenty of Turkish restaurants to choose from, which serve dishes of similar taste and style - but higher quality.

Amazing Afghan food. I went here about a week ago to try as I am Afghan myself, I've been looking for the perfect restaurant in Philly. Ariana is definitely one that did not disappoint. The food was cooked to perfection. The service there is amazing. I will definitely come back.

Went there for the first time yesterday as we had been wanting to have Afghan food after watching videos on YouTube. Food was good and the waiter was very polite. Flavors were mild yet tasty.
