This restaurant is a gem! The menu is one-of-a-kind, and the food is extremely delicious. I especially enjoyed the Stewed Fish, which I'd say was the best I've had at a restaurant. It was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed the Cassava Oil Down (a spinach mix). The drinks were also on point and a great complement to the meal. The Chow For Now cocktail was my fave. Overall, great vibes and experience. Would definitely visit again.

The food was awesome. Every dish was well prepared with all the flavors of authentic Trinbagoian cuisine. I am definitely going back. I must also mention the drink menu, with flavor profiles celebrating the rich culture of Trinidad and Tobago. I highly recommend the Chow for Now!!!

Second favorite thing I had was the Gerra wings. This is definitely a place worth checking out, it's definitely a place I will be returning to again and again. Congrats to Chef Picky on this spot!

The drinks were good, the food was good and the vibe was good. The customer service was excellent. There was a delay on our food and the staff were super apologetic and made sure to keep us updated. The bartender Lee went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time there. Definitely will be back!

The food here was okay, the crab had a good flavor but the meat was very over cooked and the oxtail was flavorful but for the price we were expecting it to come with rice or something? Also the buss up shut looks like the bits and pieces that were left over from a properly made roti and as a trini coming to a trini spot it was disappointing because how am I supposed to eat the Bhaji with this?! Anywho this whole meal was $75 including tip.

Friendly staff. Tasty drinks. Cozy and quaint atmosphere. AMAZING food! I HIGHLY recommend the curry crab and dumpling. The portion size is perfect and the dish is well seasoned. Please note that it’s made with soft shell crab which is different and eliminates the messy process of cracking the traditionally hard exterior. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it, but I LOVE it as it makes the dish feel elevated.

EXCELLENT FOOD I dream of the fish often. . The cocktails are cute and strong. Keep in mind it’s a rum bar. The vibe is lively with cozy ambiance. Really down home spot. Definitely recommend!! I cant wait to come back on the weekend so I can try the curry and crab. Also the geera wings are delicious.

Overall a good experience. The place is small and can serve apx 28 guests. Complements to the chef, the food was delicious and well prepared. The bartender is friendly and engaging. The only negative was every item on the menu was not available and one of the drinks pictured was presented differently. The bartender made up for our drinks by giving us a shot to celebrate my friend's birthday. Will go again absolutely. The spinach & okra, geera wings, oxtail, Cassava oil down were great.

I love this low key restaurant. Ariapita serves Trini food and it was delicious. I loved the Geera wings but the stellar item was the Stewed Fish (Branzino). The sauce was flavorful and the fish perfectly fried but tender and flaky. The music in the background was Soca. The owner Chef Picky is a sweetheart and I have had his food several times in the past at popups, Picky Eaters and more. He can tell he is very passionate about his cooking. He told us this is like a rum shop not a rum bar. They make their cocktails here strong and tasty. Soon they will have a backyard available. Congratulations to your new restaurant !!

I love going to restaurants and getting to speak with with owners and chefs. Had the chance to speak to Chef Picky and he is truly a gem. He is passionate about what he does and it translates into the dishes he serves at his restaurant. Starting off with drinks, I didn't know I needed the Chow for Now in my life. The cilantro infused simple syrup really evaluated the drink. I'm excited to come back and explore other cocktails on the menu. Knowing that the drinks were this good, I had very high hopes for the food and it didn't disappoint. Stewed Fish- It's a branzino not snapper and it's served with veggies (including okra) It was very well seasoned Gerra Wings- BOMB.COM These might have been the best wings I've had all year. Chinese Wings- they were okay. Nothing was wrong with them, but I tried them after I tried the Gerra wings which I'm obsessed with. Oxtail Pelau- this made me do a happy dance. What better then scooping up some rice with chunks of oxtail in it? Curry Dusted Shrimp- the shrimp were grilled to perfection. I enjoyed the curry dipping sauce it came with Not only does this place have good food and drinks, they also have an amazing playlist that had me dancing and bellowing out loud. If you're look for a good time then add this place to your list!

Heard of this new restaurant and had to try. Came a little before 7 pm. There were 4 people there - 2 sets of couples. I was greeted immediately and told to sit where ever I'd like. Sat and was promptly given a menu. Service was was great. I ordered a D Avenue first. The taste of tamarind was too prominent for me. I let our server know (I unfortunately can't remember her name) and she immediately suggested the Chow Me Later. It wasn't bad, but still wasn't my cup of tea. My Cousin and I swapped drinks. Her Guava Rum punch was very good. The entrees were small. Think appetizers. Sides sold separately. The rating is because of the condition of the bathroom. I arrived about 2 hours after they opened. There is no reason why the bathroom was so dirty & reeking of urine. My cousin visited weeks prior and she said the bathroom was filthy then, too. The bathroom wall is a graffiti wall and they provide markers for their customers to write on the walls, which I think is cool, but I was not touching anything in that bathroom. Literally used tissue to touch everything. Made me wonder what the kitchen looked like & instantly was turned off. Couldn't finish my food.

5:30pm I had to amend my review from 1 star to 3 stars because the drinks are FIRE!!! I can't say I would ever come back to this place. But I wish I could just for the cocktails. 5:15pm Showed up for a 5pm reservation on a Thursday. It's 5:15 and I'm still waiting. I'm not spending a penny here. I just want to go in, make sure they don't screw me over on Open Table where I made the reservation and get the hell out. There is NO excuse for this nonsense. Now I suspect ALL of the obviously fake, glowing reviews this poor excuse for a restaurant has received on Yelp and Google. Don't believe the hype people.

I haven't written a Yelp review in years, but this place is new and deserves to be hyped into the stratosphere. The drink menu is rum based. My boyfriend got the chow for now which tasted like a spicy, herbaceous mango margarita with white rum. I got the library corner which was super well balanced, like a dark rum old fashioned. For sides we got oxtail pelau, which is rice & peas with bits of oxtail. The oxtail was incredibly tender and had the perfect amount of spice. The sweet plantains were good but nothing too special. They were on the thicker side and nicely blackened. For the mains, we got the Chinese chicken (pictures). This is literally half a bird that is deep fried and dunked in the thickest, sugary salty soy glaze. I licked my fingers clean. There's also a sweet and sour hot sauce the chef served that I think should be bottled and on the shelves available for purchase. We also got the grilled shrimp with curry aioli (no picture because we were starving and more focused on feeding our bodies than our cameras). The curry aioli is out of this world. Super creamy which goes nicely with the char of the shrimp. I can't wait to come back and try everything else!

- everything is delicious - gear wings were perfect - garlic sauce FTW - oxtail is good - I throughly enjoyed potatoes and cheese - oxtail peleau deserves an A+ - cassava oil down was better than expected - Chinese chicken was really tasty - all the cocktails are rum based - one waitress, so when it gets busy, things can take awhile - wine Wednesdays are good idea (bottle of wine with dinner before 7) - soundtrack has always been fun or pleasant

I love to patronize Caribbean restaurants and when I heard The Ariapita was on a top 10 list of new restaurants to visit in Brooklyn I was really excited to visit. Unfortunately, after my sister made our reservation on Open Table and we arrived a few minutes early, that's where the excitement ended. Our reservation was for 5pm. We arrived early just to avoid any problems since the business had a 10 minute grace period. The place was shuttered. Doors locked. Gates down. CLOSED. About 5:05 a dude in short pants rolls up in a car with Jersey plates and double parks. He enters the restaurant. Doors remain locked. Now the only reason we were still waiting outside the closed and locked restaurant at 5:15 is because our reservation was through Open Table and they penalize you if you don't turn up or cancel. Finally got in at 5:19 after I called up and someone inside answered the phone and let us in. THE GOOD NEWS: They immediately put on some great Trini music once we were inside. The server/bartender (Anisa) was very professional and friendly. Drinks were excellent. My sister loved D Avenue (too much tamarind flavor for me). Chow for Now was a great mix of mango with cilantro for a nice bite. Now I know this place had a beautiful outdoor area from when I visited it's previous iteration (Sip/Unwine) but it wasn't available. Too bad. I don't know what the food is like and I have no intention of finding out. As a business, if you can't even check Open Table to make sure you're ready for customers who make a reservation, you're not ready for Prime Time. Unfortunate. The Flatbush area needs more reliable spots.

I went into the so called establishment and ordered The Saturday Special soup, Cowfoot and Oxtail, but got corn soup instead, even though I mentioned my order THREE times!!! Please avoid at all costs!!! This place is a complete ripoff!!!

This place is a very small and welcoming establishment. Trinidadian cuisine and I'll tell you right now. That's not a little boy in the kitchen. That's a grown man who has paid attention to his grandparents when he was growing up and had perfected his craft. Admittedly I was never a fan of crabs. Too much work and too little glory to enjoy. But this. This soft shell crab fish had me regret ever not consuming it before. Oxtail is a very common dish served in West Indian restaurants BUT few can master how to make the meat tender. It is mastered in this place. Grand mastered in fact. This was my friends along with myself first encounter with this restaurant. It did not disappoint. Not in the slightest bit. In fact we ran up a hefty bill trying almost everything on the menu. I am severely pleased. Pros: 1. The food. Literally everything taste AMAZING. 2. Small and cozy. You'll get all the attention you need from your server. 3. Music playing makes the atmosphere very Caribbean and it's not at a volume that's too loud to hear your friends talk. 4. Drinks. The drinks were DELICIOUS. There were some specialty drinks not pictured that were absolutely a treat while eating. Cons: 1. The front door can only open 1/3 of the way. This has to be fixed as it was kind of annoying to maneuver. Especially if someone is sitting at the bar in front of it. 2. The size. Capacity will not be a large number as it is a small restaurant. I fear when this place really takes off it will be a hinderance for them. 3. Server uniforms. There should be a standard color way that the servers wear so customers know they're servers. Our server was a man but at random a woman walked up who was wearing a coat that asked us if we were doing okay. Confusing as we had no clue if she worked there because of the coat. 4. Decoration. While decoration was minimal, I think it can be moved around for better effect. There was a plastic plant separating my table from another and I was sitting close to it. It was just a tad bit too close for comfort. I couldn't fully move my seat back to get up because of it. Maybe just my opinion. Overall this was a great experience for me. I am excited to see where this place can go. I know bigger and better is in their future.

I am an immigrant of Guyana and have lived in Brooklyn from the age of 7. Needless to say, I've seen the changes in various neighborhoods over the years but never so much as I've seen since the pandemic. In my opinion I think that Brooklyn has become one of the favorite and upcoming places to start a business. With that being said, the number of restaurants popping up are amazing and I welcome them all. Ariapita is one of those new restaurants and what a pleasure it was to have the opportunity to eat here. My friend invited me to attend a birthday celebration with her and it was a great time. From the moment we entered we felt the warm welcome from the staff and the ambiance inside. It is cozy and the vibrant colors along with the music brings you to being in the Islands. In one word I'd describe this restaurant as "minimalist". It's the simplicity of the drinks and food that will keep you going back for more. The way the food is served is more like small portions that make a big impact. Everything is delicious and the drinks are well made...no watered down drinks here. Lol I ordered the Ital curry with the buss-up shut along with the Guava rum punch. Other dishes ordered included the Chinese chicken, Curried crab w/dumplings, Curry stew oxtail and Sweet plantains (I failed to get pics of those but everyone said it was delicious). If you live in Brooklyn and even if you don't, you owe it to yourself to make your way down Flatbush Ave to this wonderful restaurant. Let's really put BK on everyone's wishlist of favorite places to drink, dine and be merry! Hope you enjoy!

Great sit down Trinidadian spot in Flatbush! We got the Chinese chicken which was incredible, the curry crab which was also really tasty and I definitely recommend the potato pie. The server was wonderful! It also looks a good spot to just sit at the bar and have some cocktails. I'll definitely back to try more of the menu items!

The food and drinks here are SO GOOD! Went around the time they opened, and got to meet the owner, who was very kind-you could tell it meant a lot to him that people were having a good time. The ambiance is the perfect balance between lively and relaxed, you can enjoy either depending on your mood. I love that they have a focus on Trinidadian food, and showing how unique the cuisine is. Can't wait to be back to try more things, so glad to have this wonderful addition to the neighborhood!

Place is a joke. As child of trini parents, this was a disgrace. Place is sticky and dirty. Floors are sticky as hell and as you walk, you hear your shoes adhering to the floor. Cringe. My sister and I went here last night for the "all you can eat BBQ" for 25$. That was a joke too. They did not have half the things on the menu. Our food was served in these little jail like containers and the taste of the food was just ok. Nothing to write home about. They had NO NAPKINS for patrons at all - and they're serving BBQ. Wow. We asked for rum punch to drink and the girl bought us over the drinks and told us they were on the house. We thought that was so sweet until we realized WHY- they definitely weren't rum punches! She ran out of rum punch ingredients and so our drinks were literally grapefruit juice and well vodka . We couldn't believe it. The bathroom is FILTHY and un-usable. I went in to wash the BBQ sauce off my hands and was shocked at the condition of the bathroom. Graffiti everywhere and smelled like a port-o-potty. Listen- this is a poor representation of Trinidad , would not return, would NOT recommend

Came here for dinner last night food was absolutely amazing! Highly recommend if your looking for a good Trinidadian spot in brooklyn will definitely be coming back!

The drinks were amazing! Tyra was my bartender/server. Her energy was amazing and facilitated the whole bar to share in conversation. I didn't have a chance to try the food, just stopped in for some margaritas, but the menu looked amazing and I enjoyed two delicious margs before setting out on my evening. Definitely coming back for more!!

The food was ridiculously good. The oxtail stew is on my top 5 list of single best dishes ever. The cocktails were bursting with interesting flavors. The service was super friendly and a bit slow but well worth the wait. The place is casual, tiny, loud and colorful. Loved it!!!

Small and quaint. Authentic and finger lickin good food and drink Got busy with the crowd from a show at King's, so plan for longer ahead of show times.

You don't have to be a trini to love and appreciate the food here! Authentic food but with a slight twist on some makes this place unique. I basically tried the whole menu because I'm greedy and totally forgot to take pics because I was starving but next time...because I guarantee I WILL be going back.
