Yelp
I haven't written a Yelp review in years, but this place is new and deserves to be hyped into the stratosphere.
The drink menu is rum based. My boyfriend got the chow for now which tasted like a spicy, herbaceous mango margarita with white rum. I got the library corner which was super well balanced, like a dark rum old fashioned.
For sides we got oxtail pelau, which is rice & peas with bits of oxtail. The oxtail was incredibly tender and had the perfect amount of spice. The sweet plantains were good but nothing too special. They were on the thicker side and nicely blackened.
For the mains, we got the Chinese chicken (pictures). This is literally half a bird that is deep fried and dunked in the thickest, sugary salty soy glaze. I licked my fingers clean. There's also a sweet and sour hot sauce the chef served that I think should be bottled and on the shelves available for purchase. We also got the grilled shrimp with curry aioli (no picture because we were starving and more focused on feeding our bodies than our cameras). The curry aioli is out of this world. Super creamy which goes nicely with the char of the shrimp.
I can't wait to come back and try everything else!
