My daughter and I we love eating sushi there. Fresh fish and clean place. Highly recommend.

We were first introduced to this restaurant living in Sacramento, so when we found out there was a restaurant here we had to try it out. The environment is nice, smaller than what we’re accustomed to but everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Some menu items weren’t listed but I’m sure they’d be able to make it if asked. One thing they do not offer is the 50% off sushi rolls menu. I decided to try their Bi Bim Bop and it was absolutely delicious. My husband ordered 2 rolls (Lion King and Golden Bridge) both delicious and our son ordered the Katsu Curry which he also enjoyed. We would recommend this place to others and will intend on visiting again when we’re in the area.

I had an amazing experience at Arigato Sushi! The sushi was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The menu offers a great variety, from classic rolls to creative specialty options, and everything we tried was outstanding. The service was top-notch - friendly, attentive, and efficient. The staff made excellent recommendations, ensuring we had a fantastic dining experience. The ambiance was cozy yet modern, making it a great spot for both casual outings and special occasions. If you're a sushi lover, Arigato Sushi is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

This is one of our goto restaurants. Always enjoy the food. Absolutely enjoy the galbi, karaage chicken, shumai, gyoza, oshinko, guacamole salad, and an assortment of sushi. Service is always amazing with friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere is very casual and comfortable. We always enjoy coming here.

I recently dined at this sushi restaurant and was blown away by the amazing flavors and presentation of the dishes. From the moment I walked in, the service was impeccable - friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The sushi itself was some of the best I've ever had - the fish was incredibly fresh and the rice perfectly seasoned. The chef clearly took great care in preparing each dish, and it showed in the delicious taste and beautiful presentation. Overall, I had an amazing experience at this sushi restaurant and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. We had Calamari Tempura, California Roll, Volcano Roll, Kitsune Roll.

Update:The tuna gave me bad diarreah. Definitely won't eat here again. Reduced my 3-star review to 2. I should preface by saying that sushi is my favorite food, and I've eaten it all over the country. The sushi at this place was a real mixed bag. Some things were done really well, and some were not. Ultimately, I won't be returning. Pros: 1) The fresh salmon was delicious. It's diced up into small pieces, which I wasn't expecting, but it still tasted great. See picture. 2) The fish-to-rice ratio was perfect. Not too much rice. 3) The sushi rice was perfectly cooked. 4) The green tea was really good and very fairly priced. 5) We were seated immediately, and the restaurant is clean and decorated nicely. 6) The sushi came quickly, but at a cost, because it was a little messy. It did not look attractive. See pictures. 7) I asked to leave jalapeños out of a pre-mixed roll, and they made a version of the roll from scratch without jalapeños. Cons: 1) The ahi tuna was super fishy, and it was ground, even in the tuna avocado roll. It was not the texture that I was looking forward to. I wasn't able to finish it, mainly because of how fishy it was. 2) The prices were a bit high, even for sushi. 3) The service was not very friendly and not attentive. I was never offered a drink refill or even water, and I had to catch the server three times, including to order and to pay the bill. They were a little busy, but not anything crazy. 4) The sesame seeds were over-toasted, which made them override the flavors of the fish. 5) As noted above, the sushi was hastily made and looked sloppy.

The sushi rolls and the udon noodles were perfect! Although they have 1 waitress only, the food came out pretty fast. I will be passing by again soon. UPDATE: I stopped by to eat dinner here. I was extremely disappointed at the waitress who didn't smile at all throughout her service period. Perhaps she is the manager, because other waitresses smiled and greeted customers. Everytime i order shin ramen from this place, the mussels have rocks in them. I took a bite of the mussel and almost lose a teeth! Do they not clean their seafood thoroughly? I will not come back again because this isnt the first time i chewed on stones, it happened before. So disappointed!

This place is super good. This is the third time I’ve been here, and I will continue to go here. The service is good, and the food is even better. I went with my mother, and we started with the Arigato balls, and Shumai. The arigato balls were super good, but interesting. They were literally just fried balls with cream cheese in them. Yeah. The shumai was much better though. They were very hot, but after they cooled down they were wolfed down quickly. Very succulent and flavorful. For the entree, we ordered the 77 piece maki platter. Now, you might be wondering how two people at 77 pieces of sushi; it’s because of me. I didn’t have breakfast, and I was starving. All of the sushi on it was incredibly. My favorite is probably the fried soft shelled crab, or at least that’s what I think it is. I didn’t really like the spicy tuna, not because it was spicy (it wasn’t that spicy), but I just didn’t really like the flavor. Besides that though, I ate everything. Awesome meal, and awesome place to visit.

What a spot!! Stopped in on a whim for take-out and certainly did not regret it! Was a huge fan of the different spicy options especially. Would recommend!

Good neighborhood sushi restaurant with prompt and polite service. We came on a week night as the restaurant's small and didn't want to deal with the weekend crowd. Generous portion on the agedashi tofu for the price and I like that the miso ramen had three slices of pork charsui vs one slice elsewhere. Would be nice to have options to add toppings or just have more toppings. However, it's better than most ramen places these days that gives you a bare bones bowl of ramen and expect you to add toppings to a $15-$20+ bowl of ramen. The upgraded chirashi had a nice mix of sliced fish; although the tuna didn't taste especially fresh. However, I did like the generous portion of rice with the seaweed salad, mushroom, fish eggs etc. Overall, it's a decent sushi place if you're in the area. Also, the waitress was attentive and not overbearing which I like.

A true 3.5 based on sushi quality and carrying out. This place isn't far from our house and the only sushi carry out we could get on NYE. WHhope nothing was wrong with oir order, I would put the quality only slightly above Wegmans or Whole Foods. I plan on trying other locations before coming back here.

Lunch today with a group of people. I ordered Bento Box C (includes: 6-piece California roll, shrimp and vegi tempura, bulgogi (other choices are beef or salmon teriyaki), rice and a miso soup and small salad appetizer). ($18) The Bento Box was very good. A nice variety of things to try, with plenty to eat. The tempura coating was light and the flavor of the shrimp, green bean and sweet potato came through well, the bulgogi had a nice flavor and the miso soup was good. The small salad could have used more dressing and the California roll was fine - not great. Service was very good. Water glass was kept full (I drink a lot of water) and the wait staff handled the 7-checks at the end of the meal promptly and without complaint. The sushi and other entrees that my lunch partners got looked good. I recommend you give the place a try.

Neighborhood Japanese restaurant with consistently good food, service, and comfortable ambiance.

Arigato has been amazing since we started coming over 25 years! The sushi never disappoints! We are vegetarian and we find plenty of options. Bento Box E is a family favorite with a diverse selection of vegetarian sushi, tempura, and more! The atmosphere is great for a couples dinner, family meal or meeting up with friends. The staff is friendly, helpful, and lovely. We will continue to make Arigato a go-to local place!

Updating my review as I've ordered for carry out many times this year and we love it! Favorites are super volcano roll, arigato roll, toro maki roll.

Great food! We got the bento box A and C, and combo fried rice (not on the menu, but their fried rice is always excellent). Fast and pleasant service. Nice traditional decorations and Christmas decorations and music (visited in early December)

Delicious food meticulously prepared, which is exactly what you want for sushi. Never disappoints. Fresh, clean, tasty with creative options.

I came here with my family for dinner and immediately loved the ambiance. The seats were comfortable and the staff greeted us warmly. For starters, we ordered Chicken Karaage which was juicy and delicious and Edamame, which I doubt anyone can go wrong with. For entrees to share: Salmon Combo, Rainbow Roll, Spicy Salmon Hand Roll, and the Sushi & Sashimi Special. Combo and Specials came with miso soup and salad. Well, nothing was left. Sushi was fresh and satisfying. Presentation was beautiful. Service was attentive and friendly. I'll keep this spot in mind for the next time we're in the area and craving sushi again.

Trash. FYI the water is mop cleaned water. They reuse all the left over fish that's almost gone bad in fried food so it doesn't go to waste.

Maybe they had an off night, but the food was not very good. Won't be coming here. Too many options to eat mediocre sushi in this area. Fried sides were overly oily as well.

It's just ok... we got some take out the other day and it was just blah. They also cut the sushi in strange overly large slices and it was difficult to eat! I used to like it here more but this will be my last visit.

I've always passed by this place for so many years but never tried until just recently and had positive experiences. We had a large party of 8 to 10 people so we were able to get seated in the back room with privacy. The service is fast and friendly. Their tempuras are great especially the shrimp! We ordered the sushi sashimi combo butit comes on a LONGGG heavy board. It's great bc the table can reach exactly the same things on each ends. All of the sushi, sashimi and rolls were fresh and tasted great. Their miso soup is a bit on the salty side but still good.

Super fresh sushi. They are not skimpy on the portions. Friendly staff and great udon. They pride in their preparation. Recommend.

I would recommend you getting the chicken order rice they are very fresh and the fish tank is amazing. And also service is amazing and pretty good interior. Nice Workers

Been coming here for year's. Food is delicious. The owner and staff are friendly and nice. The ambiance is casual. I have not had anything that I did not enjoy from the menu.

I love this place! Been there a couple of times with my husband. The sushi is always fresh and a really healthy portion size. I like to get the Dinner box A which comes with 6 piece California roll, shrimp & veggie tempura, chicken teriyaki, rice, and shumai. Lots of food for a very reasonable price. My husband and I were there a few months ago and met the owner, Yung, who could not be nicer. Tonight we were there and she walks right up to us and tells us it is so nice to see us again. I was impressed she remembered us. She treats her customers like cherished friends! I think the food is amazing, but Yung makes it that much more memorable!

Nice restaurant in Fairfax next to Aldi. I've been here a few times and never noticed the hidden gems in the menu. I always got the dinner Bento Box sets (B and D are my favorites) but this time i saw the Udon and Chirashi set. You get a big bowl of delicious udon that has two pieces of fried tofu skin, fish cake, mushroom, half an egg, topped with seaweed and scallions. The other half of the meal is a mini chirashi with about 6 or 7 pieces of fresh sashimi topped with seaweed, sprouts, and a small piece of lotus root which was really yummy.

we absolutely LOVE this place...so much so that we drive a good 35 minutes (or 1 hour roundtrip) to get carryout. So if you haven't tried them yet...RUN and try it today! First, they are a local owned small business. Second, they have the best quality sushi for a decent price! We have done takeout several times during the pandemic and are kind of sushi snobs...and I think they may have the best quality in the DMV (we like them more than Yuraku in Maryland). I've had their bento boxes, sushi combos, and sashimi platters! EVERYTHING IS GOOD. You should definitely get their tempura (it's so darn good). The owner told me that they spent so much time to perfect it. The warm sake is the perfect combo to the meals. If you're not feeling sushi, try a bento box!

I had a great experience ordering take out from here last night. I got to the sushi stall in H Mart ten minutes too late, but I still wanted sushi. I remembered Arigato near Walmart, which wasn't far. I called in the order around 8:10 on a Saturday night and they said it'd be ready in 20-25 minutes. This is much faster than other popular sushi places in the area. The order was ready on time! The place is pretty nicely decorated inside, but you still definitely feel like you're in a strip mall. I ordered the sushi and sashimi platter ($30), octopus nigiri, and salmon/avocado hand roll. It came with one salad and one soup. I was a little worried it might not be enough for two, but it definitely was! Not bad for a total order of $41. The platter was great! The yellowtail had to be my favorite. The California roll has roe on it--delicious! There was also salmon, tuna, and shrimp. They didn't skimp on the good stuff! There were three pieces of yellowtail, tuna, salmon sashimi. One each of the nigiri including shrimp. Six Cali rolls. Don't know why I didn't snap a pic--I guess I was hangry! I'll definitely order takeout here again!

Our absolute favorite sushi restaurant in the area and I just realized they have a Happy Hour special menu that I can't wait to try!

Have been coming here for 2 years. I live in Reston and will drive there just for the sushi. The thing I like about it is their slices of sushi are thicker than normal restaurants and their rice is smaller. Which means you get a good taste of the fish which is great. Many places create a huge rice ball and thin fish and think you won't notice. Really? Service is good and noise level is minimal. I would have posted pictures but I devoured my 20 piece sushi platter before I realized I had not taken any pictures. Maybe a testament to the quality of food. Highly recommend.

I have always loved this place, but today I got the worst shrimp fried rice I have ever purchased. I paid extra for more shrimp but there were 7 total (all with tails?!?). The dish was dry and contained noodles for some reason. I called to complain and they were indifferent. No excuse, no refund, just a weak "I am sorry" which is a pathetic response. I will be boycotting them for one year and will tell my friends the business has gone down hill.

Came here on a Monday night at around 6:30. There were about about 2 tables when we arrived. We were greeted by the chefs (I couldn't exactly tell what they said because it was in Japanese but I know it meant something along the lines of "welcome") then the servers prompted us to our seats and took our order. We were given a complimentary small dish of edamame and fried cream cheese I think and our food came out pretty quick as well. We ordered age dashi tofu to start with along with a sushi&sashimi combo, salmon combo, and tempura udon as our meal. Everything tasted great especially the tempura udon. The broth was exceptional! However, I didn't really like the spicy salmon hand roll. It wasn't like the typical spicy mayo flavor, it was more of a korean red pepper paste flavor. After we were done eating, the servers quickly took our empty plates and gave us our checks. Nothing extraordinary but overall a fine experience.

This place is really legit. Incredible sashimi, lovely decor and ambiance, and kind staff. I wasn't sure if I should stop in after seeing some reviews, but the food pictures convinced me to try. True to the other positive reviews, this was some of the absolute best salmon sashimi I've had in the area; nice meaty slices that justify the price, and very fresh, quality fish. The woman I assume to be the owner was very friendly with the regulars, and overall the place had a great ambiance. I assume negative reviews expected "friendly American service," but so long as you don't expect the wait staff to act like it's a Friday's, then you should be in for a good time.

It was just awful They were so rude keeps on asking me if I have a reservation because 7 people walked in and my Friend was in the bathroom The food was good but I am not sure it's worth the pain of waiting for your food and dealing with a very Incompetent staff. I have been to this place many many times and I cannot believe how terrible the owner was And staff was 1/13/2023

I love this place! I have been going here for the past 2 or so years. Their sushi is always good and I love the Arigato balls. The Arigato balls are very simple yet great!

A real sushi bar where you can actually sit at the bar! No problem with special orders and they made futomaki correctly. Good quality fish, fresh rice, and reasonably priced. We'll be back.

Service was horrible, food was terribly bland and also service was bad. In case i didn't mention it. When i walked in servers were eating at a table in the back(That is not a problem to me) so when she sat me without even a hello or a smile she asked if i was ready right away while still chewing on her food which to me is very unprofessional and an uncomfortable situation from the customer side... i got the hibachi chicken and somehow ended up with fajitas style chicken breast and shrimp. No flavor on it at all! One piece of broccoli and 2 sliced carrots, no one came to check on me so i just went up to one of the servers by the kitchen entrance to ask for a box and the check. It was the most unwelcome I've felt in a restaurant ever! Never coming back.

The hibachi steak was served a bit differently than other places (bigger pieces and only served with peppers and onions), but the meat itself was so tender and flavorful. This was my first time actually enjoying sushi. I got a shrimp tempora roll and it was fresh and enjoyable.

Great food, I'm surprised people posted negative experiences with food and waitress. I think it's little price but it's due to inflation.

We love this restaurant with always great service and owner who is very welcoming. I like small teasers before our original order. It is such a nice touch. Sushi is very fresh and yummy Most of the time we order sashimi 18 pcs and one of the special rolls. Great please.

I've been to Arigato Sushi numerous times and it's one of those places that one goes to when they're too lazy to think of a better place. It's not terrible, but it's nothing to write home about either. Located in the Walmart shopping center in Fairfax, Arigato offers ample seating. To begin with, they serve complimentary edamame and dangerously delicious cream cheese puffs. Just like any other place, they were attentive enough to top off our hot teas throughout our visit. We ordered a few sushi rolls, but none stood out enough for me to remember their names. They were alright, but I have had better. The service is meh. The waitresses are attentive enough, but I don't recall ever seeing a smile. Most likely I will be back for another lazy unpretentious evening, but that's about it.

I really wanted wanted sushi and didn't feel like going into Wegmans. Saw this on the left and popped a u turn. Got in there 20 minutes before close. I walk in and didn't even get a hi. The first thing the lady said was "Take out or eat in? We close at 9:30?" (Umm hello to you too) So I'm looking at the menu clearly taking longer than she wanted (3-4 minutes since I have never been here before). The lady then says I don't know if I have time to make your order because we close at 9:30. (Nevermind people are chilling and eating not looking like they are trying to leave any time soon) I quickly put my order in and they bring me the check. The lady rushes me to sign because they close at 9:30 (third time she tells me this). I still leave a tip because I came in there near closing time. She gives me my food, but I still notice how all the other people don't look like they are leaving any time soon. Food: sushi was just ok. I should have just gone to Wegmans. It wasn't worth the price or the hassle.

The sushi here is so delicious! I highly recommend the Chesapeake roll, the Godzilla roll, and the caterpillar roll.

Amazing sushi. This is my all time fav spot. So fresh, great proportions, and lots of options!

I really wanted some hibachi and decided to try this place bc of good reviews. Not normally one to leave a review but since I should have known given there weren't any for the hibachi to go for something else I figured I should to let others know. Stick with the sushi. This was bland, served with plain rice (I even called and asked if fried rice) and no "mixed" vegetable (just onions under chicken and single broccoli floret) It was edible but definitely not what you think of for hibachi and the price point.

During Covid 19 "To-Go" was an only option for Father's Day dinner. $127 dollars worth of sashimi dinner was nastiest sushi experience we ever had. No salad, No miso soup and warm sashimi. The sushi chef cussed in Korean when my husband mentioned that they messed up on our order. It's very easy to read "I E 18" even if one isn't fluent in Korean. Called about the missing salads and the miso soup they said they only give those out to Koreans who asks for them. Just laughed and hung up... so unprofessional! Never going back to that restaurant!!!

This is our go to place. Friendly owner. Fresh fish. Consistent execution. Try the FFXroll and the crazy salmon.

We wanted to try a new restaurant in a strip mall that we rarely visit. Our server was friendly and enthusiastic. If only the food was as good as her service. The Sara Udon and the seafood were bland. It was quite disappointing as I was hoping to savor a rich tasting sauce and smoky crisp noodles like the Sara Udon I had at other restaurants. The octopus and grilled eel sushi weren't great either.
