"Overlooking the Bay of Loch nan Ceall, the Arisaig Hotel is surrounded by true Highland wilderness, from pristine, white-sand beaches to crystal-clear waters where you can spot otters and seals. Based in one of the most charming villages on the Road to the Isles, the old coaching inn is also home to Arisaig’s local folk music scene, with jam sessions taking place in the hotel bar on Friday nights throughout the year and on Sunday afternoons during the summer months. Rooms are simply furnished, with eight offering ocean views and four overlooking the village, and there’s an on-site restaurant serving local seafood like rope-grown mussels and hot-smoked salmon. When you want to get out and explore, boat trips to the islands of Eigg and Rum, as well as sea kayaking and rides on the Jacobite Steam Train, can all be easily arranged."

Firstly, the hotel itself: beautifully situated on the bay with outstanding sea and island views. We stayed in room 10, which had the great view. It’s a large, comfortable room with a spacious en suite with a powerful shower over the bath. The beds were comfortable and equipped with good quality linen etc. Breakfast was served in the dining room and included first class kippers and scrambled eggs with local smoked salmon. All good!|Secondly the restaurant: more of a pub dining room with a busy bar area used by locals and hotel residents. A great range of drinks all efficiently and pleasantly served…..and so much cheaper than SE England! The small restaurant is set in a gallery overlooking the bar and was very busy on our visit. The two waitresses were rushed off their feet but were outstandingly efficient and gave great service with a smile. Well done! The food was great. We had calamari, cullen skink and very fresh, local mussels. Other tables had excellent looking fish and chips and some huge burgers.|This is a great hotel and restaurant….booking strongly recommended.

Amazing hotel, staff are like extended family! We booked here to have a meal after our micro-wedding! The wedding was meant to be on a nearby beach however due to weather warnings we weren’t able to, the staff at the hotel were so accommodating letting us get married on the covered decking! The food for the meal was amazing and every guest agreed! The guests that ordered steak were asked how they wanted it cooked and each person said it was cooked exactly the way they’d asked! The scallops were perfect too! |On a day that could have gone so wrong due to the weather, everyone thoroughly enjoyed and it was a stress free day! Thank you for making our wedding so memorable in all the best days! We will definitely be back!

Superb. Third time here and yet to have a bad meal. Service and setting are excellent. We had the mussels to start followed by shin of beef and sea bass with cobb salad. Faultless. Reasonably priced as well. Arguably the best place to eat in Arisaig and most possibly Mallaig. A wee gem. Warning though, it gets full fast, so would recommend booking ahead.

Great hotel in a lovely location. Room was reasonably priced and bed was comfy. Evening service in the restaurant was quite poor unfortunately. We had to ask for menus after sat waiting for 5 minutes, waited another 10 before we ordered a drink. By the time we actually got our drinks we had been there for nearly 30 minutes. It wasn't that busy and there seemed to be 4 staff on so I'm not sure why it was so slow. A lot of the tables near us took ages to get cleaned after people left too. The food did arrive reasonably quickly once we ordered and the portions were huge. Breakfast service was top notch. Very friendly and accommodating and the selection of food was great. Overall a great stay and we really enjoyed it, just a slight let down with dinner service.

A perfect blend of hospitality, heart, and Arisaig spirit. We popped into the Arisaig Hotel bar for one last evening with no extra expectations - and left even more completely charmed, thanks to Katie. She recommended we try the Strontian Gin, a local small-batch spirit we’d never heard of. One sip and we were hooked - it was clean, complex, and utterly rooted in the landscape. When we said we’d love to buy a bottle, Katie didn’t just nod and move on. She brought over a beautifully curated leaflet of the distillery’s full range and, sensing our excitement, offered us a tasting flight of their other gins then and there. No pressure, no hard sell - just genuine pride in something local and brilliant. That tasting sealed it - of course we bought a bottle. But more than that, we felt like we’d been invited into a story, not just served a drink. The Arisaig Hotel bar is everything a Highland bar should be: warm, well-stocked, and full of soul. And Katie? She’s the heart of it. If you’re lucky enough to stop in, ask her what’s on the shelf that isn’t in the big shops. You might just discover your new favourite gin - and walk out with more than you bargained for.

A hotel with stunning views. Good accommodation. Nothing special about the rooms but served 7 of us well. ||The hotel has a busy restaurant that serves good food. Nothing staggering but good quality. The high rod this hotel is that the staff team are very engaging, extremely friendly and willing to help. ||I had the scallops as a starter. These were ok, followed by muscles, again a nice taste with beautiful home made bread. The only thing I’d say is that the muscles were very small. ||The waitress was a star.

Nice Bunkhouse beside a pub/restaurant. Rooms was small but OK for me on my own. Very clean and newly decorated. Bathroom is nice and rain shower was great. The kitchen is very small with seating for 6 people. Was only 3 other guests so it was fine but could be a problem for cooking if there was more guests. No lounge area but the pub is a few steps away.

Enjoyed a lovely meal here yesterday. The food was delicious. I had the Cullen Skint starter and chicken, whilst my husband had the langoustines and beef brisket. Everything was delicious and well presented. Very dog friendly too. We visited with our little dog Molly who was made to feel so welcome by the amazing staff that looked after us. Molly even had a menu to order from too. Definitely recommend for a meal. Lovely food and amazingly friendly staff. Thank you for a lovely evening
