Ariyoshi Sushi Cafe Izakaya

I was looking for a sushi place open a little late and this was exactly what I was looking for. Not too busy so great and quick service. Cute little vibe and a nice bar, for a night of sake and sushi. I ordered The Cajun Seared Tuna Roll, Crunch Dragon Roll and Fire Salmon Roll. I love all three and do recommend you try them. Me and my dates favorite would have to be the crunchy dragon roll

The food was mediocre, the sushi didn't really taste fresh! I honestly think store bought sushi tastes better and is fresher. My boyfriend's vegetable tempura was good, and his beef teriyaki was okay. We waited about 50 minutes before getting our food. Pretty sure this is a staffing issue, there was only three people working the entire place. The happy hour deals were pretty much normal price. Two stars because the staff were trying their best. Wanted to love this place because it's in my community , but I won't be coming back!

Very good sushi and rolls. Service is excellent, and food comes in quick. Not the coziest place (probably because I'm an interior designer and see all opportunities) but the restaurant is nice and well decorated. I can recommend the chefs choice with 10 pieces of sushi, and the spicy roll with tuna and crispy rice. Delicious! I can really recommend this sushi restaurant. They know how to make good sushi.

Today we are here to dine with my friends, They served good and food was delicious. Happy hour starts 3pm-10pm lot of nigiris are cheap and good quality. Definitely will be back

I’m a local and was there yesterday, had a lot of fun and cocktails with the ladies that came for the Ladies Night event. They had $5 for all the cocktails for ladies every Wednesday. I was lucky that I was there and had a chance to try different cocktails and new food- beef dumplings. Service was good, music was good.

Service is about quality of personality, not plate velocity. If you want delicious sushi and reasonable pricing (HH 3-10) Note: Yoshi upped his staffing recently so everyone who wants faster food give it another spin because the quality says 3000%

I asked for a lobster roll and they used crawlfish! I asked for a baked salmon roll and specifically ask can I get REAL CRAB? The waiter guy said yes, and brings me imitation crab meat. I didn't eat and after a debate he only took half off of that salmon roll. Will never eat here again.

The sushi was really bad. It was tasteless and didn’t match the description on DoorDash. $15 for a roll that was supposed to be spicy crab inside with salmon on top. The crab inside was tasteless normal imitation crab meat (not spicy) and the salmon on top tasted strange. The rice tasted unseasoned and looked a mess. I couldn’t finish the food.

This place is so good. Love the chili garlic edamame and ofc Jessica alba roll. One guy making the sushi every night and he never fails. Great music and ambiance with low light.

Food is amazing! Happy hour is from 3-9 pm which is a huge window. The lighting in the restaurant is cozy and warm, it's just amazing vibes all around. Edit: There's free parking in the rear of the restaurant, and a 10% discount for students!

We went in here and there was no one so we decided to sit down because it was happy hour. The prices for happy hour was only like $4 off the original roll price but I was expecting like half off. We still tried it anyways. I got the salmon roll and salmon 2 piece sashimi. It was good and the crunch roll was good as well. There was only one guy working but he served us fast! Inside was pretty quiet and demure located in Beverly Hills.

Unassuming spot. I lived nearby for 2 years but haven't been here before and finally decided to check it out. There's a daily happy hour from 3-10pm with a lot of options. We got the Sapporo pitcher and sake combo, chefs choice sashimi combo, the Ariyoshi crunch roll, and the yellowtail collar. Aside from those items on the HH menu we also got a spicy tuna salad and sweet shrimp nigiri. More than enough for two people. Quite full actually. Writing this 5 star review for the $1 sake but honestly it's worth the 5 stars even if they didn't have that offer. Ambiance is fairly quiet. Not crowded or super busy but there are def people in here. Mixed crowd.

Sushi Dive Bar type restaurant. The beer is cold and the sake is hot, and the sushi is served fresh. Service was provided in a timely manner. Late Night Happy Hour was a great time. The Rock Shrimp roll was amazing. Be back soon

This place is terrible, we waited 60 mins for our food to arrive. Sorry to the server but he was not good , very inexperienced and forgetful. The place had a distinct smell of being in a construction area very dusty. The food was mediocre, small portions but it tasted pretty good. I wouldn't recommend this place and I won't be coming back

First time here and really enjoyed the food. The scallop carpaccio was on point! The Jessica roll either fresh jalapeños, very nice, recommend it. Reasonable prices and I will come back. Great service and great ambiance.

They have a good happy hour and lots of fun rolls which is nice. I don't think the food itself warrants these high reviews but its very clear to see how they get them (bribing with alcohol). Had I known the reviews were skewed I probably would not have gone here.. the food was a little below average for us and gave my friend and I stomach aches. I had the baked salmon roll and could smell the salmon wasn't fresh when he put the plate down. Even when eating around the salmon I still got sick. I try to play it really safe when it comes to sushi so thought this place would be reliable with all the high reviews but that definitely wasn't the case. Maybe should've seen it coming when we walked in at 7p and we were the only ones in the entire restaurant for about 35 minutes (so even the vibe wasn't there for us).

This is one of my favorite Sushi spots. Their red rock and 911 rolls are diviiiiine! The service is always top notch and I love the quiet atmosphere. Great place for a date night. ‍

Sushi is delicious , happy hour is til 10p, and Sapporo is on tap. Ordered the Cajun Seared tuna roll, albacore roll, 2 piece bluefin tuna and red snapper.

I came here because I was attending a concert in the area and when we walked in around 4pm it was pretty dead but he still gave my friend and I really good service. He prepares the food himself and even though he was alone the food came out pretty fast! It's a nice chill spot with dim lighting so you can get a break from that florescent lighting. I would definitely come here again

Oh no! Thought I would try this place because the menu looked great and they got four stars. My avocado roll is brown. My ginger which I ordered extra of, and they gave me, is brown. The avocado tastes off. The spicy tuna is OK but with everything else I'm afraid. The waiter was nice. I picked it up from him and took it home. Most places don't give you your money back, they offer you more food. Don't need that. Won't go again. There were three people in the restaurant, and they were all sitting at the bar. Waste of money. Glad I needed the walk.

This is a small sushi house on Wilshire Blvd. I live close by so I come here often. I usually get the chef's choice sashimi & a cut roll or 2. The restaurant is clean and the service is excellent. They're never to busy so the service is fast.

This is a cute little place on Wilshire Boulevard. That's not too busy & the service is good. I ordered the chef's choice (it was like a baby Omakase). A couple of other rolls as well.

This place is a gem. Great food am for a great price. A rarity in Los Angeles. The service is excellent, Yoshi is really attentive and nice. Highly recommend this place.

In the middle of never-ending construction in both sides of Wilshire Blvd., this is place shockingly not only manages to stay open, but does so in style. The ambiance is akin to most any sushi restaurant, that is to say nothing stood out for better or worse. However, the food is great. In particular, the sushi is fresh and eclectic. Both nigiri, sashimi and cut rolls were all very good. There's also a decent selection of sake, along with very reasonable prices. I would definitely eat here again.

Please be aware, they are charging $3 higher on every single item compared to the menu they have on the website and all online order forms. I placed an order via phone and they were very quick, said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I asked on the phone what the total would be just to make sure and she hesitated for a long time and then just said "the system is down" so she couldn't tell me the total. I guess that should've been a red flag. I can understand a little bit of price inflation for things like actual sushi, but 3 sad little egg rolls that were probably frozen and quickly fried should not be anywhere near $8. The specialty rolls were tasty, but very unevenly cut (not cut all the way through, and drastically different sizes) and fell apart right away. The salmon sushi was just slabs of salmon very oddly cut on small mounds of rice. It felt more like I was eating a salmon filet from a grocery store than prepared sushi. Maybe it's worth it to go to their 7 hour long "happy hour," but when I went to pick it up, there were only 2 tables occupied in the very quiet and dark restaurant. And a dog laying on the ground in the middle. If I'm going to pay $17 per roll of sushi, I'm going to go somewhere fresher. Sorry!

Amazing food, quick service and authentic too! Definitely check this place out, if I lived closer I would come here every week. The karaage and eel roll were so bomb, and I really liked the salad!

Nice sushi spot off miracle mile (you know parking is going to be a hassle). They have "happy hour" specials til 10pm lol. The margarita was good. Got the baked salmon roll it was alright. Rice was sticky/hard for some reason lol. No one there on a Tuesday night.

the best meal me this month. I just moved from SF and I been busy moving. I decided to walk around Cochran street and I walk into this Japanese sushi restaurant, first it is clean and I know he is the one person doing everything. He is busy but he take care of customer in the prompt and nice. I ordered3 sushi but I don't remember the name ( happy salmon, double shrimp and shrimp and crab something ). I would say this is the best moment in my life happening to me to have good food and service in the moving stressful time. Thank you and RECOMMENDED. And please be patient with chef he does all the best and take a good care customer by only hisself at the same time. THANK YOU Definitely come back for sure

The yakitori was absolutely inedible....looked beautiful, but was so dry, cold and overcooked that it was actually desiccated and woody. I should be refunded the price. Also the shrimp tempura was cold, overcooked and flavorless. (Obviously it sat somewhere for a long time prior to delivery---probably next to the yakitori! ) The sushi was OK, but very small and fell apart readily because rice wasn't prepared appropriately. Will not order from here again. Experience was dismal and food doesn't meet basic standards for well prepared Japanese food.

Hey Ariyoshi Sushi is a staple in Hollywood, LA, Wilshire District for fast and decent sushi. After living in Japan for a year, I find sushi spots in America to be a little off the beaten path but I always find my self in Ariyoshi Sushi's hospitality is very LA. You come here for the Happy Hour 3 to 10pm. The Happy Hour is what we live for.

The salmon skin salad was so filling and tasted fresh. Honestly the best one I ever had, and it was $15 lol. I got the Cajun seared ahi tuna roll as well and it was good; great quality

Service was okay - but the food could've been better. I wasn't that hungry so I only ordered a few pieces of sushi for dinner. But I was a little disappointed. The fish was so thinly sliced which I'm not thrilled but I can deal with it. But when I tried the sushi I can taste the fishiness of the fish which indicates that it's not very fresh :/ Perhaps it's just that night but quality of food was below average in my opinion

Beware with the bill . I got over charged on my bill ( the price is overcharged from the menu). And they even put item that we didn't order. Please recheck again when you got the bill

This place is ok. Nothing to rave about but ok. The place is on the loud side. Wait staff is hit or miss. I have been twice. Always my last resort if I want sushi.

Wow, WOW! Their Sashimi Salad is to die for!! I would recommend this sushi spot to any sushi lovers. I enjoy going to Ariyoshi at night. I believe the late night energy of this restaurant adds on an extra layer of charm to their entire ambiance.

I am genuinely surprised that this restaurant has high ratings. It's 3/5 star at best. The 2 is genuinely for their customer service but other than that. Here's a breakdown: Ambiance: Quant little sushi restaurant. Came here at a Saturday night and it was completely empty. Service: Amazing. They are very nice here! Food: Very disappointed. Ordered the: Baked Salmon: Lacked flavor, some pieces were cold, no sauces on top and the rice was hard lol. Bento Box: Got the beef teriyaki & chicken katsu. Both meats lacked flavor & were really thing. The katsu tasted like dino chicken nuggets and the beef teriyaki looked like plastic. Salad was salty & the gyoza they had on it was salty inside. Shrimp tempura: The batter they used wasn't the usual flaky texture... it was like skinny chicken fingers & the shrimp didn't look cooked. Definitely felt like it was frozen and they deep fried it. Overall would never go here again.

Definitely not the worst! Would have loved more old bay seasoning on the Maryland roll, this tasted a little closer to spicy mayo than Atlantic seafood. Loved the crunchy roll, the furikake had a yummy sweat aftertaste to it. Not a bad option in La Brea, came here after an afternoon at LACMA. The edamame was cooked perfectly, would have loved this more if it was complimentary. There are pretty decent drink deals, next time I go will definitely be with drinks!
