I've been a loyal Arizona Charlie's Boulder customer for almost 10 years since I fly into Vegas often. Always got a good rate and a clean room. This time, the room was fine, but we got ZERO housekeeping on a 4-day stay.
The first morning, I called Housekeeping to request turn-down service and new towels. (I learned last year that they DO NOT CLEAN your room unless you specifically request it.) I even asked 2 of the maids who were cleaning another room to do mine. I also asked for a blanket, since the beds only had sheets on them. They said they quit doing that because the guests were stealing them. But no blanket...in November? They said they'd see what they could do. I left housekeeping a $5 tip on the table. Came home that night, room was NOT cleaned, no trash taken out, beds not made, no clean towels, no blanket. But the tip was gone... That kind of summed up the whole trip.
The next morning, they delivered a blanket to the room. Hooray. So we were warm the rest of the stay. But we came back that night and once again, no room cleaning.
The polite locals at the front desk used to be very nice to deal with. But they have been replaced by clueless Millennials who hate their job and really do not seem to like dealing with people over the age of 30.
On the third day - Monday - I went to the front desk to plead with the young kid out front to get housekeeping to clean my room. He said that "of course they can't; they only provide replacement services on Monday." Oh-kay. I did not know that!
So... clean your own room. Haul your own trash. If you want clean towels you'll have to work to get them. Apparently, the inmates at the asylum are now in charge here. I'll move down the street to Sam's Town from now on. They offer value as well. And housekeeping.
